I tried this restaurant since I had been to one of their other locations close to my work and it was decent. This location has the addition of sushi and some americanized Chinese dishes. On a weeknight, there isn't much of a crowd and really just 1 other table of customers. I was able to pick pretty much anywhere to sit. The menu is pretty extensive and has all of the vietnamese basics for a noodle shop. I tried the House Special Fried Shrimp Cake and Fried Egg Rolls as an appetizer, and a small fatty brisket and fatty flank steak bowl of pho. Prices are average id say for this type of food and certainly much less than the nearly $18 bowl of pho I had about 6 miles away last week. The soup broth is very similar to their other location, which was pretty good. It isn't the best bowl of soup in the Houston area, but it surely does the job if you're craving a bowl of pho. The egg rolls are pretty standard, I just wish they gave you more lettuce as the amount provided only is enough for 2 of the 4 egg rolls. The shrimp cake is something I've never tried but just made with sheet tofu and shrimp paste. It's pretty good if you like that texture. You eat them the same way as the egg rolls wrapped in lettuce and add the veggies. Again, the amount of lettuce provided is only enough for 2 of the 4 cakes. I had a really great dining experience here, even though they were busy! This restaurant really exceeded my expectations and I would give them 10 stars out of 5 if I could! Walking in, we were greeted and available to choose our own table to sit at. Staff quickly arrived at our table and took a car orders and returned with our drinks quickly. With no exaggeration, they returned with our meals within 5 minutes!?! I think they serve food faster than most fast food restaurants! That is not an exaggeration. We ordered the P2 everything flow, a order of Curry Beef with fried rice and a California Sushi roll. Wanted to kind of get a good spread on their food for sampling: *The P2 was a nice amount of food to satisfy a very hungry person. It came with a delicious broth, plenty of noodles and plenty of meats! It was served with a side of fresh and crisp sprouts, basil, peppers and lime wedges. The broth was fantastic and not salty (about $13). *The Curry Beef was delicious (not too spicy) and came in a thick curry sauce that also had whole snow peas and sliced carrots. The fried rice was also very delicious (about $12). *The California roll was fresh and a generous portion of eight pieces (about $7). Not only was the food great, but, the staff and management here is perfect! The staff was attentive and really put effort into making sure that guests have a great dining experience! I think all restaurants should operate their staff as well as Pho An. The dining area was clean and each table was well stocked with utensils and condiments. Another plus of this restaurant is that normally at Vietnamese restaurants you are served a can of drink but here they have fountain drink and continue to refill your drinks. I HIGHLY recommend Pho An in Conroe and give them two BIG deserved thumbs up for setting a gold standard for restaurants! Everything from the food, the staff and the dining experience was spectacular! I will definitely be coming back here again and suggest that you try them as well! The food made Panda Express look like a 5 star dinning experience. It looked and tasted like day old leftovers. Vegetables wilted ,chicken and shrimp were definitely not prepared today. Won ton soup. Wonton wilted into a paste and stuffing was old. Now how does an Asian restaurant mess up steamed and fried rice. They found a way to do it. $44 and half of it went down the disposal. It's a shame because we have been looking for an Asian restaurant close to our house. This issue DEFINITELY not the one. I was in the hospitality industry for 46 years and I don't think Gordon Ramsey could save this place. Spend your money elsewhere. read more

When we lamented the lack of solid pho here in the North Houston area, a friend brought us here and we've been sold since. Located in a strip mall right by the 45, Pho An seems to be a clear hotspot for pho-lovers since it's always busy every time we go (fear not; the seating area is deep and we've rarely had to wait for a table). Pho is the obvious star here, with bowls of steaming broth on nearly every table. The server will ask you whether you want the small or large - unless you've got a child's appetite, always err for the larger size. There is a vegetarian option, which is chock-filled with vegetables and thin slabs of tofu. Call me crazy but pho isn't my usual go-to here; I much prefer the vermicelli bowls. I love their shrimp bowl, which has a healthy amount of large, shelled shrimp and fresh veggies. With the proffered fish sauce and a good squirt from the bottles of hoisin and Sriracha at the table, the mixed noodles become both spicy and savory. I've also enjoyed the fried rice (especially for its large serving size) and the sushi here. It seems that you can't go wrong with anything you order, and there's something on the menu for any dietary restriction. Prices online are not reflecting what they actually charge. They are charging 25% more than what they say online. When I called to inform them they just gave me lame excuses. Told me to leave reviews because otherwise the owners wouldn't do anything. I asked for a refund on my tip or the difference and they denied me. Never purchasing food from here again. I am a big fan of Pho, the Vietnamese noodle soup. The Pho Tai (beef soup) is excellent with a wonderful broth. The staff is very attentive and nice. Service is very quick. I've tried some different dishes recently and found them equally as good as the Pho. read more

The eggrolls didn't make it to the picture but they were perfectly crispy and delicious, they are served with fish sauce which I like, but if you prefer sweet chili I would probably ask because I am not sure if they have it. The Bun Bo Hue broth was one of the best I've had, it was the perfect amount of lemon grass and so beautifully fragrant. However the quality of the sliced meat in the soup fell a little flat for me, but I also may have just gotten a tough cut and that was just the luck of the draw. Regardless, I would come back for the Bun Bo Hue. The udon soup broth is just pho broth, and we were expecting a Japanese udon broth, but it was delicious nonetheless. We came back after refusing to eat here for some 2 years previously... I regret that decision. The egg rolls here are not Vietnamese egg rolls, they're just frozen trash that gets deep fried in the back. They don't give you enough lettuce to wrap them, nor do they give you the full array of vegetables that are supposed to accompany them; still charge you like they do though! Our waitress was fine, I think she was the only one on the floor, but even so she only refilled out drinks once and then essentially f'ed off. We got our kids some take home food, it took them longer to cool chicken nuggets and french fries than it did to make the lackluster sushi we got. To make that worse, the waitress kept neglecting to bring us the boxes. Finally, after awkwardly sitting there for 20 minutes we finally just said "We need our to-go orders so we can leave..." Phabulous Pho or whatever it is in Conroe proper, down by petco and Academy is the only place to get Vietnamese food around here. We'll never come here again. read more

This is a good place to stop for lunch. Conveniently located at the intersection of 45 and 242. Never a wait to get in and parking is never an issue. Service is prompt, not the friendliest but nevertheless efficient and attentive. I had the P1 pho. The pho comes in a generous serving even for the small size, with plenty of meat and greens, and nicely cooked noodles. If you're super picky about your broth, this broth is pretty bland compared to other places I've tried. But for those who prefer a sweeter and more mild broth, this may work for you. It wasn't bad by any means, but I have definitely had a few bowls that were better. Next time I come I am going to try the sushi--they have a full and eclectic menu and I feel I may enjoy that more than the pho. read more

We've gone to this place for many years. Last night was the last (Monday, June 3). The pho broth was a gray color, not beefy at all. The bun fried chicken was old and dry. I've been coming here for about a year now. Ph An was brought to my attention by a fellow Yelp Elite as the nearest and most authentic ph. How does it compare? Close. Pretty close. Especially when you consider the geographically closest competition. What makes a good ph? It all starts with the broth. Without a good foundation everything else falls flat. The broth here is a very good start. It may not be as deep and developed as the best, but this will please all but the biggest fans of ph. Their wonton soup, however, is among one of the best I've tested. It's a very delicate flavor that is as simple as happiness is to a small child. The wontons may be small, but the please in a big way. I also enjoy the cilantro floating in the broth; it offers a bright freshness that's not found in most versions of wonton soup. The other offerings on the menu are quite sub-par. From the Chinese dishes to the rice plates, there's very little to order a second time. I think they've stretched themselves too thin here. Perhaps some competition will come around to give Ph An a run for its money. If that were to happen, we would all benefit. read more

The manager told me "when i go to a restaurant and don't like it i still pay for it, so we're not taking anything off the bill."
