Came here after Thanksgiving! It was pretty busy and was packed! The ambiance was lively and our servers seemed new(?). We loved their pastas and desserts. Our table ordered some wines, and a tasty Italian soda. We then ordered a couple salads to share for the table which were fresh and yummy. For the mains, we got the branzino, the Bolognese pasta and the truffle / mushroom pasta. Everything tasted great and flavourful. But to our surprise, in the last few bites of the truffle / mushroom pasta, we found a dead worm(!) which really dampered our whole experience! We reported it to the server and they took off the mushroom pastas and wines from our bill. We appreciated the gesture. But to someone who is absolutely terrified of bugs, that definitely left a poor taste in my mouth! At the end, we ordered the tiramisu and that made me feel a lot more satisfied.

The service was great. The ambiance was a regular darkened full NY restaurant. The food was just okay. My friend didn't like her chicken. My flounder would have been better without the lemon butter sauce. The salmon was okay. The mashed potatoes were on point! The asparagus was delish! The fingerling potatoes were meh. The spinach was good. Regular bill at ~$40/plate with ~$15/ea drink.

Ambiance: After many years (late 90s) i finally visit this restaurant, at this point definitely old nyc style vibe. Food great olive oil and garlic flavors stuck out. Drinks: just where it should, food though is the marquee. Service: super friendly and welcoming. Food came out super quick and very hot!!! Luv it. Affogato was surprisingly very good with the coffee and gelato combo, apple crumb had nice large pieces, with real homemade feeling apples.

On a day we got caught in a summer storm, we randomly found refuge at Pappardella. They fortunately for us were able to put us in the covered patio. They've been very helpful at the reception as they were full that night. It was perfect as it was warm outside and a great way to enjoy the rain without suffering from it. Now, the food, it was a delightful surprise, the pasta was full of flavor and perfectly cooked. Exactly what we needed and an amazing discovery in the UWS.

Delicious!!!!!! Amazing Italian food!! Would love to come back again. Thank you! :)

Lobster ravioli was good & had the best sauce. Flat bread was good & big enough to split if you weren't too hungry. Good wine

Wow, just wow... I absolutely loved EVERYTHING about this place. The ambiance, the service, the food. I loved that it was a smaller restaurant with less than 20 tables. I have celiac disease so when I see a gluten free menu I jump for joy! I had the Ricotta di Bufala, Pollo al Parmigiano, and the Torta di Cioccolato. Every bite of food was flavorful and delicious. I want to go back to NY just to come to this restaurant. 10/10 highly recommend!

Terrific. Nice ambience. Chicken parm with bursts and rose sauce is one of the best sandwiches I've ever ate. Australian server was great. Three drinks and two sandwiches under $97. Reasonable by NY standards. Go ther

Everything was amazing. The food, the service, the ambiance, everything. We also ordered pizzas as entrees which were really good too. Totally worth going here. The place feels very cozy, the food was delicious and our server was very polite and helpful. No complaints of this place. The only "bad" thing are the prices, but you are in NYC, so you can't expect less than that. I would say it's totally reasonable by how good everything was.

My friend and I were excited to try this restaurant and they did not disappoint. My friend has celiac and we were drawn to this restaurant because of their extensive gluten free menu. There were so many things for her to pick from that she normally does not get the chance to eat. We both had chicken parm (hers gluten free and mine regular) and shared the whipped Buffalo ricotta. The chicken parm came with so much food and was delightfully crispy. We then shared the gf cheesecake (another menu item my friend doesn't get to eat often) and love it! We will definitely be back to try more

I'm actually surprised that this restaurant doesn't have more stars. I selected it because I had some guests in town who are gluten free and this restaurant is one of the few gf friendly Italian restaurants. They have an entire menu that's gluten free only. It's very impressive. They even do gluten free garlic bread. It's very extensive. When I came here we were a party of seven on a Saturday evening. We had a reservation. The restaurant is pretty small but it didn't feel too cramped. The hostess came around often to make sure we were taken care of. The food was excellent. While I'm not gluten free myself, those who ate from the gluten free menu said the pasta tasted like the real deal. They couldn't even notice a difference apparently. That's impressive. One person said the eggplant parm was one of the best he's ever had. Overall, I think it's a great neighborhood find, particularly if you're gluten free or dining with someone who is.

One of the best Italian spots in NYC! As a vegetarian, I have really enjoyed all the food I have tried here. The space inside is comfy and well decorated, and service is always good as well. I genuinely believe their eggplant Parmesan is the best I have had in NYC. I also love the ricotta appetizer, fried burrata, and bruschetta. Their tiramisu is amazing! Would highly recommend giving this place a try when you're in the ar

This is my second time coming here. The first time I ordered garlic bread, gnocchi, chocolate cake, and tiramisu all were amazing. Last night I came here with my parents for my birthday. The staff were great. Marc our waiter was fantastic. They were all accommodating for my million allergies I now have. All of us enjoyed our food. Highly recommend.

Lo and behold, she did have a table for us - as long as we were out in an hour and a half, which was just the right amount of time. Stepping into this place feels like you're in some secret, super special cocktail club. Decor is super high end, vibes are upscale AF. The cocktail menu is incredible -- and incredibly pricey, but truly worth it. I ordered the Valentino which was strong and sweet, really well made. The mint Moroccan tea gave the drink a cool, refreshing taste on every sip. I also tried the Silver Screen, the closest drink I could find to an old fashioned. It was interesting, there was definitely a hint of a buttery taste. Overall a really balanced bourbon drink. I walked in and found room at the standing tables. A bar seat eventually opened up but I was already on my second drink by then. Definitely make reservations if you're planning a visit!

The bar seating was plentiful and comfortable. There is plenty of space for people to stand behind the bar or a high top tables enjoying happy hour after work. If you go at 4:30 or 5, it's a bit calmer as the after work crowd trickles in. And as the evening went on, it started to get more and more packed, and it became a really lively vibe. After my friend left for another function, I stuck around a little bit longer for a little solo dinner. I had a glass of Prosecco off the happy hour menu followed by a dirty martini, and I did request to look at their full dinner menu because there was a couple items that I wanted to try. I wanted to try the duck Ragu and halloumi cheese, both of which were absolutely fantastic. The halloumi cheese was perfectly grilled and flavorful, and the duck Ragu was very comforting. I highly recommend both dishes. I ended up chatting with a woman sitting next to me who happened to work with select apertivo, and next thing I know one of the bartenders handed me a lovely bright cocktail to try on the house. It was a refreshing bubbly Barlume spritz that I'll definitely have to get again next time. Overall, I had a really great time at Barlume. Shoutout to Chris who not only tended bar but worked the floor and to the lovely hostess whose name I wish I had gotten. But really the whole staff was just A+++. We shared the crispy artichokes (outstanding) and the cacio e Pepe arancini (where the fried parsley was especially unique and delicious) to start. I had the eggplant parmesan which reminded me of an eggplant dish I had in Venice -- but better. My husband had the ricotta cavatelli which was also great. For dessert I had the olive oil cake accompanied by lemon curd and --wait for it -- rosemary gelato. I was skeptical about this gelato, but it turned out to be a wonderfully fantastic surprise!
