The hostess wasn't thrilled to seat us since we said we were just getting a drink, but since it wasn't crowded we were lucky enough to get one of the few patio tables. They had a good wine by the glass selection with a number of sparkling, white, and red options. I opted for a lambrusco, and my boyfriend a glass of white. This was my fifth time here, and it never disappoints! I've been to both the Union Square and NoMad locations (I even celebrated my birthday at NoMad--loved it!). Tonight, I came for one reason and one reason only: d'Asti Week. We were greeted with a complimentary glass of Moscato alongside our Salumi & Formaggi board. The cheese paired beautifully with the wine, and I couldn't resist treating myself to a bottle (wine not?). Moscato is my favorite, and I couldn't have found a more perfect place to celebrate it. My friends and I each tried something different: I had the spaghetti Pomodoro, one friend enjoyed the tuna tartare, and another had the elevated version of spaghetti and meatballs (the fancier name I forgot). Every dish was delicious. I can't recommend this place enough for date night, a special event, a birthday, or just unwinding over wine and dinner with friends after work. I wish Columbus Bakery were still here for an excellent UWS breakfast option. In its absence Tarallucci e Vino is a solid uncontroversial choice for an early meal, before the majority of the neighborhood's eateries open for business. I opted for the uova e asparagi which seemed like the most interesting thing on the menu. It exceeded my expectations - despite a light amount of cheese, the potatoes were very flavorful and also nicely tender. I would return for lunch or dinner if I find myself in the area. read more

Pastry review - I didn't know this place sold pastries until I found them on the Too Good to Go app. I primarily think of it as a wine bar. I was shocked by how good they were! I got an almond croissant, raisin roll and another croissant stuffed with cream (least favorite). Loved how there was a rich almond flavor in the almond croissant. Liked the flakiness. I came here for a super late lunch with my dad this past Saturday and was pleasantly surprised at how good everything was here. The space itself is small, but posh with tables and half table half booths. There was no wait to be seated. With our waters, we each ordered a glass of white wine, which was alright, and the waiter brought out 2 kinds of a bread (a focaccia and I think a French) with a small dish of olive oil which was nice to snack on. I ordered the Caesar salad, which was dressed well and had nice crunches to every bite, both from the fresh lettuce and from the crunch seasoning and crispy crumbs on top. It was delicious although I would have liked the egg yolk to have come on top so I could break it and mix it in myself. My dad ordered the Tarallucci Burger, which was wonderful, especially the potatoes that were delicious and well seasoned without being too salty. We noted the burger itself had high quality ingredients with the best flavors coming from the melted cheese and black truffle aioli on the bread. We finished our meal with glasses of red wine and port. The port was fantastic and served with little circular Italian sugared cookies that paired perfectly with the delicious drink. I would recommend this to visitors who are coming from or headed to the Museum of Natural History which is nearby or anyone wanting a quality meal at any hour. read more

Had made reservations for NYE which had a Prix Fixe menu with a decent split of vegetarian and meat selection across three courses. We went for the early seating and it was relatively quiet on a rainy last day of the year. Alex, our server, was friendly and was kind enough to offer us a glass of wine on the house, after he felt bad having charged full price for our little one on the Prix Fixe menu. Food overall was pretty decent. There was a Pappardelle pasta for our little one, and a few great options for meat lovers, including a Rib-eye steak which unfortunately lacked flavor, in spite of adding their rather heavy garlic and heavy cream sauce. The lobster tail was thoroughly enjoyed by the seafood lover on our table, and was enough to knock a person out on the table next to us, who possibly had a shell fish allergy. We were glad to see the person doing fine though, towards the end of the meal. Definitely not a nice way to end the year! Noise levels were on the average end throughout our time there, and their menu and service were pretty good, definitely on the expensive end though. Went late on a Monday. Service was really good. I love the vibe. The focaccia was more like a pizza. It was good but wish it was more like a traditional focaccia. The Caesar salad was good nothing crazy. I did enjoy the cacio e Pepe which was dripping in butter. Pasta was homemade which was good but I've had better. The food here is consistently excellent, the service attentive and prompt, the ambiance buzzy but I can still hear my companion clearly. It's a small, intimate space with counter/bar seating as well. I placed an order to carry out, and when I arrived with my baby in stroller, I noticed that there was no ramp to enter the restaurant. I called to see if someone could assist me, and the woman who answered the phone was extremely rude. She told me I needed to come inside to pay (yep, that's what I was trying to do...) and when I explained I couldn't get my stroller up the steps she barked, "what do you expect me to do about it?!" I told her that having an inaccessible entrance is illegal in NYC, and she scoffed, saying that she had a ramp. Moments later, she came outside with my to-go bag and shoved it in my face. I was able to pay the bill using a QR code on the receipt. I debated writing this review because I have always enjoyed the food here, but I think it's important for anyone with a physical disability to know that this is a hostile place with unkind staff that does not deserve your business. read more

Took in the beautiful weather, relaxed and enjoyed the cool vibe and our dinner. Polipo- large enough to share. Charred Octopus served on top of fennel , roasted potatoes, and arugula with lemon and olives. Grilled Branzino- a nice piece of Mediterranean Sea Bass, mild and sweet and cooked with capers, cherry tomatoes, kalamata olives. A side of oven roasted fennel with a parmesan gratin was served alongside the fish. My husband and I were walking by on a weekday evening and decided to stop for a light dinner outdoors. The ambiance and service were standard, and the food was good overall. My husband fell in love with the spaghetti featuring Nonna Michelina's sauce. The fresh pasta was perfectly cooked, and the tiny meatballs were adorable and generously covered in sauce. Though I'm usually not a fan of meatballs, I found myself enjoying the cute bites. The branzino, on the other hand, was nothing exceptional. Wow, did not expect to like this neighborhood place - especially for breakfast. Their side of homefries is seriously good - very flavorful, crispy on the outside and meltingly soft on the inside. The side is expensive but it easily feeds two as a side dish. The pastries are great - but be aware that they are Italian. So the peach danish was delish - but bore only a passing ressemblance to a deli danish. It was lighter, crispy and less greasy. Ditto for the cinnamon roll - I thought it was a bit too refined, my friend loved it. We fought over the corneto. If you get the 3 pastry selection, go to the bar and look at all the offerings. There were some specials that we could have selected. The French toast was very good, the fruit was fresh - more than just a garnish. Once again, this is a splittable dish. The bacon was thick but crispy - perfect for me. And the coffe was AMAZING! Seriously - I got iced coffee and it was a treat as opposed to an afterthought. Dinner was equally pleasant. The charred octopus app is dinner sized. The octopus was quite large and meaty - but also very tender. I love octopus and this was a great version. My friend got the pinsa with proscuitto. She liked it, I thought it looked a bit bready, but I am biased towards NYC thin slices. I had the broccoli, sausage pasta and it was light but filling - great for a hot summer's evening. One drawback - Happy Hour is ONLY at the bar. C'mon guys! Still, I am looking forward to trying more dishes here, what a chill neighborhood place. read more

This lovely place is about 60 or 70 ft from my front door. The aroma of what they're cooking is always so incredible lots of yummy garlic mushrooms Etc I love to eat here and it's too bad... so many other people have discovered the place that you need reservations at dinner time now where we never used to!. But I understand it and they're thriving and they're wonderful. The service is very lovely the food is freshly made locally sourced and just wonderful I have never had anything here that I didn't like. The atmosphere is casual. There are lots of tables outside where our local canine friends can sit and greet passers by. Not only is food scrumptious but during the pandemic this restaurant provided food for an SRO for seniors at which I used to work. They are very Community minded and wonderful here. read more

Came for a pre-concert meal with a friend. Ordered the special of the day: pappardelle with mushrooms and truffle. Initially received the pappardelle in a red sauce and was confused LOL. Apparently they had brought me the wrong dish and then made me the correct meal. My lunch was so disappointing here that it warranted my first yelp review. I came here on a beautiful spring Monday with my mom who was visiting from out of town. It was to be her last meal in the city and I thought after sampling Taralucci's delicious pastries last week, the restaurant wouldn't disappoint. It was noon and not crowded - we sat outside. After taking our order our server completely disappeared. We had to flag down the support staff for plates, sugar etc. The biggest disappointment though was my main course. (Which after an hour and a half I had to flag down our server and ask if it was coming soon to which he replied "oh no I'm putting it in now." So we continued baking in the sun for another 45 min. When my carbonara arrived it looked and tasted like scrambled eggs spread atop overcooked pasta.
