They take only cash- and when my companion asked for a receipt- he was told that they don't have receipts- just hand written checks. Who cares- the food is great- we both had the lunch portion of Chicken Parm- nice and and thin and crispy- with a side of penne and doused in that famous Rocky's sauce/ gravy. The restaurant is broken up into 3 rooms- with a tight squeeze doorway between them - watch out for servers with a load of dishes ! If you like the old school Rochester Italian food experience (including tripe which I have never had!) - go to Rocky's. Nothing fancy or pretentious- just authentic Italian fo

They only serve certain meals on certain days so you have to look up their menu online before you go. The disappointing part is I always work the same days so I never get to eat certain things. The place is small and cozy and they run out of popular dishes fast so if you want to make sure you get what you want, and a seat, I would get there around the time they open. Their prices are beyond reasonable and the food is even better! Rocky's is a staple in Rochester and we love coming here.

This was the best restaurant experience I've ever had. My partner and I went on Valentine's Day…read more The staff were extremely welcoming and personable. The environment was small but open, feeling like you had somehow found the nicest little gem. And the food was immaculate. Every bite felt like 3, both complex and yet not overwhelming. We almost enjoyed the sides more than the entree (almost). So much attention to detail was put into it, and yet it was still reasonably priced enough to go again. Will have to make this our new anniversary spot.

On the reservation form (online) it doesn't mention needing to place a comment in the notes for special occasions that you'd like a booth- so unfortunately, even though the place was pretty empty upon arrival we were unable to have a booth - the hostess said "had I known by you placing that request in the comments section online I might have been able to secure you a booth- but it's not guaranteed." - wait, what?? Not sure why they take online reservations then. Started dinner with a salad which was delicious and bread that was pretty basic and unfortunately the oil that they served with it was a simple and nothing special. For our entrees, my partner had the dual filets, which I'm sorry to report were seasoned with so much pepper that it took away from the steaks themselves. I had the salmon wrapped in bacon- which was superb. My partner had wished he had gotten it after trying one compared to his and after tasting his steak I'd have to agree it would have been a better choice. Hoping if we try this again it will be a better experience. Staff were nice, but not very welcoming. Decor could use some upgrades. Not sure if I would recommend.

I consider all the shops along this little stretch to be part of the Rochester Public Market. I'm…read morenot sure if that's accurate, but they are part of my experience with the market, and I love them all. Giordano is one of the best of the bunch, as they have all the cheese you'd ever want...and I want a lot of cheese. I want the funky bleu, the creamy brie, the sharpest cheddar you can find, the chevre, whatever you can find from a sheep, certainly including manchego, and all the olives they have in stock too. I want the cheeses with fun additions like truffles and pepper and meat and I also want the meat that hasn't been added to the cheese, because meat is good on its own too. All that said, the last time I came in I felt like I was bothering the staff there. I got curt, annoyed answers when I was curious about a cheese I wasn't familiar with, and we ended up leaving with about 25% of the amount of cheese I wanted to buy just because it's not fun to put together a cheese plate with people who aren't trying to help you. I hope it was an off day, because I'll be back again soon. After all, I have a cheese problem.

Though it was almost empty on a Thursday morning it was difficult to get to the cheese display because the only two patrons were pretty much sitting in the aisle gabbing with one of the workers. We had to squeeze around them since they weren't moving. Once at the cheese counter the smallish selection of cheeses were unmarked so we needed to quiz the burly guy manning the counter. He was gruff and almost rude in his attitude. Almost unhelpful. It is lucky we bought anything at all. If you wanted your purchase wrapped in cheese paper vs. plastic they charged another $1.75. Really? Definitely not the positive experiences we remembered from the past. Very Disappointing!
