Kids- Plate grilled cheese which ces with fries and kids drink
    HsiaoCheng W.

Worked downtown for ages but never came here until now when I moved out of town. Loved the pulled pork po-boy. Had some glaze going on top of the bun. I was going to get a regular bun but when I saw someone else get this I had to. They ran out of banana parfait so we got the chocolate which was tasty. My kid hates bbq. I know. She didn't grow up here. Forgive her. So she got a kids grilled cheese which comes with fries and a drink and hit the spot for her. Urinal has a surprise on top. Just close your eyes if you're self conscious.

Had dinner with a friend before our event started so we chose this location because it was close by. The food was great, and the service was top notch too. I had the slice beef kids meal with coleslaw and my friend chose the chicken breast sandwich with potato salad. Great conversation with good food and ability to watch sports games.

What is that....6 pieces of Romaine???

I purchased the one meat salad which I'd don't several times throughout the years. So, I'll admit, it's been a while since I'd gotta a salad from Pappas. I don't mind pay for good food..as long as I get my money's worth. The salad was $15 and it was more like a side salad... no joke! In the past, the salad were in a regular to-go container. Now, it's in a baked potato container. The salad tasted good, but definitely NOT worth $15. Y'all gotta do better,Pappas!!!

Drive thru - busy at breakfasttime!

Does everyone here know that Pappas Bar-B-Q has breakfast tacos?! You should know and you SHOULD order them! It was my turn to pick out the breakfast tacos for the office and instead of the same (yummy Mexican) place we have had in the last few months, I picked Pappas. Called in about 7:30 AM to place the order over the phone (you can place online, but they have a limit to how many tacos you can order online). Calling in the order was easy. They told me my order should be ready in about an hour. I drove the the location and got behind three cars in the drive-thru line. When I got to the speaker, I let them know I was picking up a phone order for Allison. When I pulled up to the window, the worker informed me they were finishing my order. I waited maybe 10-15 minutes total in the line, including paying for my order. I was sad for the car behind me that tried to order bacon and egg tacos.... they had to inform them that they sold out of bacon (oops, that was me). Food: The tacos were large, delicious, and served with fresh salsa! I ordered different combinations of tacos with bacon, egg, cheese, brisket, sausage links, and potatoes. You can't go wrong with Pappas!

This location is always on point every time I have come. The employees have been very pleasant each time. Food is always fresh and no issues with my orders. The breakfast tacos have definitely shrinked over the years but still delicious. I think it's really nice of this location to offer customers to order online and they come out. My location does not offer this service. You can order online but you must pickup in the drive through. With this location offering this, it helps with foot traffic or those using public transportation to easily grab a healthy breakfast on the way to work or appointments or whatever. The outside patio is a plus as well. Very convenient and affordable.

I went twice in a week while on a work trip. Both times with a group of people. You order through the line, tell them what meat you want, select your sides, get your drink, then pay. So efficient overall and people are pretty nice. However, neither times were issues free, hence the 4 stars. On the first visit, I ordered two meats - brisket and sausage. Sausage was good but brisket was pretty dry. Since I was mainly there for the brisket, that should mean I wouldn't be back. HOWEVER, I saw someone in my group got brisket that looked juicy and amazing! I guess I happened to get the end pieces which were not amazing. Because I saw the potential, I had to go back! When I returned again, I just ordered the brisket and asked for the center, fatty cut. This time, it was amazing. So good! However, at the register, they asked if i would like to order a Jalapeño roll. So I did. They told me they would bring it to me at the table. At the end of my meal, someone asked me where was the roll I ordered? I was like, oh yeah, they never did bring it to me, did they? So I went to the line to ask and was told they were out. Okay...nobody thought they should communicate that to the customer that already paid for it? Thought that was kind of interesting.

Food: Quite good! Unfortunately, all of the meat (chicken, ribs and brisket) that we purchased was cold. The sides are TINY. Rich in seasoning which is great! The flavored BBQ sauce was really good as well. Price: WTF?! Who sets these prices?!? Pure insanity for the quantity of food that you receive. You are better off going to a different spot. Customer Service: It was our first time at this place, the worker was zero help, and just wanted us to move along. Would put 2.5/5 if I could.

I went to pick up some To Go bbq for lunch and Pappas Bar-B-Q was just what I needed. The ribs were excellent (tender, tasty and delicious) my flavor palette was pleased. The sides were Mac and cheese along with Texas dirty rice. Well some dirty rice I've had had been undercooked or overbooked but the rice was cooked just as it was supposed to be. The Mac and cheese was good and cheesy. The icing on the cake was the large soft chocolate chip cookie for dessert. I will most certainly be back for more especially since the service given by the cashier and the person preparing my order was just as good as my food. The place was busy as expected for a location with good food and good service.

Why is the drive-thru so damn slow, especially in the morning?! The food is great, but the wait is ridiculous.

A 2-year Michellin star BBQ joint was a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. My friends and I got there around 10am and were lucky enough to grab a number. The number secures your spot in line but don't worry if you show up and they run out, there's a spot on the porch where the non-number line starts. We ordered moist brisket, garlic sausage, and the beef rib. For sides, we went with mac and cheese and beans. Everything was superb! The brisket melted in your mouth, no knife needed. The sausage had a nice snap to it and get great flavor. The bark on the beef rib was *chef's kiss*. The mac and cheese was creamy while the beans had a nice sweet and tangy flavor. The service is also great! While we were eating, staff would regularly check all of the tables to check if anyone needed anything. The staff taking our order also chatted with us about other BBQ spots we've been to. Everything was such a great experience and the quality of the food is 100/10!

You can ask to see the piece of rib before they cut it for you and they will happily oblige (patrons behind you might not be so thrilled with that move, but they'll live). Sides were excellent as were the mashed potatoes with white gravy on the side, green beans that were just tender enough, but also a bit crunchy. Perfect. They were seasoned with pork, so if that's not your thing, you might want to skip it. We also ordered their shareable onion rings, easily enough for three people that were huge, hot, and crispy. Let's get this out of the way, some of their prices are a little up there, but if you're anything like me, and don't frequent BBQ places often, it's a rare but enjoyable treat. Sometimes you have to splurge and live a little. Also, they have their regular sauce on tables, but you now have to ask the cashier for their sublime coffee BBQ sauce. Don't be shy, ask. It's worth it. Oh, pro tip: If you want beef ribs, the 'plate' is actually cheaper and a better deal than 'by the pound', so save a little money and get two sides.

The best thing there is probably the brisket though. It's moist and fatty and easy to eat. The ends weren't hard, charred, or chewy. I don't think there was like seasoning or flavor was heavy but the quality of the meat was delicious. The sides weren't the best or even best selection. Just the basic corn bread, steamed okra, green beans, and a few others. They had like garnishes at the condiment bar. They have sauces like coffee bbq, hot sauce, habernaro, and bbq sauce.. the bbq sauce is the best. The coffee bbq sauce literally taste like espresso and was weird. The habernaro sauce was just straight medium spicy but no extra flavor or sweetness to it. The hot sauce is more like Louisiana or Tabasco type of hot sauces. The service was nice at the bar and counter.

I love Texas BBQ so I've been to all the Austin, Dallas, and Houston spots especially on Texas Monthly. Brisket was dry, chicken was brined for a little too long and gave a tire texture. Potato salad was too wet, too fatty, and didn't provide the acidity to contrast the fat. The sausage was decent, I give 4/5 stars. It was thick, juicy, and was similar to other places such as Truth, Corkscrew, Terry Black's, etc. The elotes was also too acidic for my liking and the cheese on top didn't mix well with the dish. Finally, the brisket was just ok. I must've gotten a lean piece because it had the texture of chicken thighs. The bark wasn't flavorful or smoky. Barbecue sauce was what I expected. Worchestchire, ketchup, and brown sugar elements make up for an average BBQ spot. Overall, I would come back and order 10 of the brisket egg rolls and call it a meal.
