I've been to this location a few times now, twice in the main dining room and once at the bar. Both times I've received excellent service and the food is usually pretty consistent. For me, I love coming to Sito's in the summer during watermelon season when they have their fresh watermelon margaritas. So yummy! On my most recent trip, I sat in the bar area, at a table. Away from the bar, as with most other establishments, it's harder for bartenders to see you, so the service isn't quite as top notch. The lunch menu offers many great selections, for a fraction of the regular prices, but you receive less food of course. For beef fajitas, look at spending at least $16.95 for the lunch portion, which allows you to make 3 nice sized fajita tacos. If you come on Wednesdays after 5pm, they are still running the 1/2 price combo fajitas for 2 promotion. You can also make it all beef for an additional $5.25 On the way out, don't forget to stop by the hostesses area for mints and toothpick, as you find at all Pappa's restaurants. read more

Tex-Mex is Tex-Mex. There is nothing different here when it comes to the offerings. The quality is good, though. You get three complimentary salsas and thin, crisp chips.Tortillas are made in-house. They really seem to go the extra mile to take care of us here. Food can be pricy but the quality is worth it. If i don't want to be surprised or disappointed then this is a go to no brainer. Easy to cut carbs when one of their best options is the grilled veg plate. Add some extra butter and you won't miss the rice and beans. Speaking of cutting carbs their grilled Pablo I peppers don't have that egg batter like a traditional chili relleno. Who likes that stuff anyway? read more

Let me start by saying we are not chain food restaurant people; other than Chick-fil-a. Today we went to this Humble location for a gathering after a family funeral. There were 35-45 of us seated in a large private room. When we arrived the tables already had chips, salsa and queso. The wait staff immediately came to take our drink orders. They gave us time for everyone to arrive and began serving large plates of cheese enchiladas, beef, chicken fajitas and all the usual sides to each table. They continued to check us and were very attentive. The hot food was hot and the cold items cold. Everything was delicious. For a group this large, I was amazed how organized and friendly the staff was throughout our meal. Big applause for a job very well done. I just don't go to Pappasito's very often, but that is going to change! =) I met some girlfriends for lunch on Saturday, April 21st. We all had margaritas and plates off of the lunch menu. I didn't eat an excess of chips/queso because I wanted to be hungry for my food. I easily got full not even through half of my lunch. I ordered the El Sombrero (big cheese enchilada covered in chili con carne/cheese + beef fajita taco with rice and beans and a huge spoonful of guacamole and pico de gallo). I happily took home my leftovers. I made my second attempt to finish my leftovers last night. This time, I finished the other half of my enchilada, the rest of the rice and my charro beans. I still have the untouched fajita taco/guacamole. Seriously--that was a lot of food! The quality and quantity are what make Pappasito's worth the money. Also, their drink menu is pretty impressive. My lunch companions all had the prickly pear margarita, but I stuck with the grande sized WAVE. It was excellent! read more

I went there twice this past week. Compliments to the bartenders and staff.. the food was great . The San Juan Plate was awesome... Ribs and Shrimp Brochettes. Chips remind me of Chili's - or fresh out of the oven if you briefly heat up Chi's Chi's brand in your oven. Salsa was good. A bit of a kick and thick pieces of I don't know what, but it was good. Same with the cheese dip. I honestly prefer the cheese dip over the salsa. Came in on Half price fajita Wednesday and had the steak and chicken. Amazing. The garlic butter was a good addition to the tortillas. They offer you cheese and sour cream, but it is really not necessary. I did not like the beans. I did however like the rice. We added an additional order of Grilled Quail, that was pretty good and very flavorful. I highly recommend this as an addition. A large portion will feed a couple for two days if not more. I took my family here for lunch and the food was absolutely terrible. It tasted terrible and the beans were probably a day old.l, it tasted so bad. The food is overpriced and lame. I spent $250 here today to take my family to a good restaurant and this was a mistake. Service was fine but the food was disgusting. Been coming here for years. Recently stopped going for awhile because I felt like cattle being herded. Seemed like they couldn't wait to get our asses out the door because it was so busy but had a good experience recently. The food has always been pretty good here and my hatch chili taco special was no exception. Queso is still great too. Our server Tabitha, was awesome and she was extremely busy. She seemed to have an issue with a table nearby and handled it well despite some total a-hope customers. Then a manager seemed to come and comp their meal. Ridiculous. I mean I'm glad when a manager takes care of issues, but these people were just looking for a free meal. Of course people like that will continue to come here when a manager gives in like that and just takes the easy road. So that means a less than optimal dining experience for the rest of us. I arrived here on a Saturday evening at dinner rush and sat at the bar. There were six finely tuned individuals working this bar, I was very impressed at how they all worked together. Chips and salsa were in front of me very quickly after sitting down. Ryan suggested a local IPA and he was spot on. My guacamole was tasteful and just the right temperature. I haven't been to this location in quite sometime because the last visit was not very good. We decided to go check it out and see if anything had changed. It was very busy on Good Friday evening. The service was pretty good considering how busy they were. We got our drinks an appetizers pretty quickly. Everything was good to that point. My husband ordered a platter of some sort with shrimp, sausage, and fajitas. I ordered a fajita for two to split with my daughter, and flautas for the kids. The shrimp was very good and you can't go wrong with sausage. The beef fajitas had no flavor and were not charred at all. That to me is what makes fajitas good. They have to be cooked over a screaming hot grill. These were not and were mostly raw. The chicken was just okay and the beans and rice were the usual fare. The tortillas were not what you would expect for homemade. They tasted more like bag tortillas. Overall the meal was an expensive disappointment and I could have had a much better meal elsewhere at half the cost. I would like to say again that the service was good but when the food is bad that doesn't help. I will stick to our local Mexican eatery from now on. read more

An unbelievable amount of time later after watching many, many people who'd signed their names in long after us get seated before us (somehow) we were rewarded with equally terrible service, impolite staff and one of the longest waits for food any of us have ever experienced. My go-to in this area! Love this place for the sentiment and the drinks, which are ALWAYS, 100% consistently good and strong, but I say stick to margaritas. My fave is the grand gold, 2 is enough for me for the rest of the evening! The food is kinda hit or miss. Sometimes my food will be lukewarm when served, and the cheese isn't even melty. Other times, it's perfectly piping hot, which is how it should be. Fajitas are always A+, enchiladas are a good fallback (though again, sometimes not served hot), and the queso is a must. Will definitely be back. Awesome spot for catching up, and super great to come here when you don't feel like cooking. So convenient and service is honestly pretty impressively fast even when they're busy. Only exception is when you're at the bar. They're usually overwhelmed when it's too busy so service can be slow, but I can give them a pass for that because I see how hard they're trying to fulfill all orders. read more

Ate here tonight for 1/2 price fajitas. They were delicious as usual (when hot) but dissatisfied with the order the food was brought out. We ordered a large beef fajita and a large chicken fajita. Side of cheese and sour cream. They brought out the beef fajitas (no melted butter on platter) and no tortillas about 5 minutes latter brought out the chicken fajitas and finally the tortillas needless to say the beef fajitas were getting cold. Reminded waitress about the sour cream and cheese and to bring butter. About another 5 minutes they brought out the butter, still no cheese and sour cream. Now my tortilla filled with cold beef still waiting for the cheese and sour cream. Finally she brings the cheese and sour cream. 15 minutes have passed since the beef fajitas were brought to the table. I would recommend to the manager to bring the accouterments out first and then bring the fajitas out so the family can enjoy them while they are still hot. I wanted to complain before we left but my wife asked me not to. I will definitely be back since it is one of our favorite restaurants, been going there since the day they opened. My initial impression was not great here because of the rude girl at the front. If you don't want to be at work then GO HOME. Pappasito's has consistently good food. The only two downsides are: 1) it's always loud 2) the hostesses are sometimes rude. The highlights: the wait staff and the food are better than average. I've been eating at the various different locations around Houston for 20+ years and have even worked for the Pappas restaurants, so I am very familiar with the standards held by the Pappas family. The bartenders tonight hit at an all time low for service not only for a Pappas restaurant, but by any measure. We were passed over time and time again by every bartender there, our food came out and was given to the wrong people, so we waited 45 minutes for nachos because they had to redo our order, we never got the water we asked for, were never asked if we would like another beverage, we weren't given napkins, silverware...it was as if we weren't even there. I regularly tip 20-30%. Tonight I have nothing and I haven't had to do that in 20+ years. Avoid this location if you're looking to enjoy food and beverage at a bar, they're horrible. read more

She made ordering easy, she was attentive, and explained everything to us (because it was Happy Hour and 1/2 price some menu items). The restaurant had so many people working that it was amazing to see how everyone was helping each other, bringing food from every direction, and no one looking stressed. I just sat back in amaze. Our food was hot, we didn't wait longer than 20 minutes, our drinks were strong, and again our waitress brought everything we asked for. The quality was good, though it did have the vibe of a chain restaurant more so than an authentic local eatery. And the prices were quite high for the overall experience. This Pappasito's locations is one of my favorites. Their food is generally consistently good and the service is pretty much always stellar. The only downside is that the place gets packed fairly early and especially on weekends -- it's a good idea to call ahead. I went here on Saturday with the fam and was surprised to find a whole new menu and much cheaper dinner prices. They now have an assortment of new dishes including brisket tacos and pulled pork tacos and enchiladas. Can't wait to try the pulled pork enchiladas next time. On this occasion I ordered the Plato Del Mar with beef fajitas because I couldn't believe how cheap it was. This plate used to be $21.95 and now it's only $15.95. That's a steal considering 2-3 people could eat off one order. You get a ton of fajitas and 4 of their mouthwatering bacon-wrapped stuffed shrimp and garlic butter for dipping. My absolute favorite! Our waitress also told us about half price fajita Wednesdays. All Pappasito's locations are offering their fajitas at half price on Wednesdays after 5pm. Since they lowered the price, that makes an order for one (that will easily feed 2 people) less than $8. You can't beat that. She also warned us to get there early on Wednesday though because there's always a wait and I can imagine there is. read more

I have yet to find a place in TX that makes anything close to the Mexican food we get in So-Cal. But coming here was actually pretty okay. We had a 7 people in our party and they were able to seat us right away. So far so good. We ordered a pitcher of "White Lightning" margaritas (actually a pretty good value for $45 which poured 6 margies and then some.) Then we ordered a couple of their family platters - ribs, grilled shrimp and one with chicken, the other with steak. The meal comes with rice and beans for everyone and then we ordered extra guac, sour cream and jalapenos. Our food took a long time to be ready, but I was stoked that they had fresh tortillas. That in itself earns a star. They give you flour by default but we got corn as well and they were really good. The shrimp were well seasoned and not overcooked. And the steak was marinated perfectly and still a little rare. I didn't think the ribs were all that but my dining companions inhaled them. We saved room for the deep fried ice cream (just okay) and the tres leches cakes (I've had better.) Our waitress gave us attentive service and made sure we had everything we needed. I'd like to give them more stars but since I can't give a half star, three it is. read more
