    Tortuga platter-fried avocado
    Tracy B.

We came in to celebrate National Tequila Day and chose to sit at the bar. The service was fantastic, and the drinks had an amazing presentation. They also have happy hour specials on drinks. The chips and salsa were really good, and we decided to try the stuffed avocados. They were okay. I prefer a little more spice. We did order grilled jalapeños on the side to heat things up. In this area, there so many other options that have great food.

Went with friends after we left the gym. Only issue we had is the power went out and it took forever to be able to pay and leave since we didn't have cash. The margaritas were yummy and food was hot and fresh. Plenty of chips and salsa. Love the atmosphere not crowded.

We love to support local businesses when possible, and we LOVE Loco Cantina and all they do for the community. I'm extremely gluten intolerant and initially messaged Loco Cantina on Instagram, ensuring I could eat there. Other Mexican restaurants batter items in beer or have elevated risks of cross-contamination. Not Loco. The owner assured I could have corn tortillas, meats, rice, tortilla chips, and other various menu items. I've been a few times and have never had a reaction. Their margaritas are amazing, and the service is top notch. I also appreciate that their food isn't greasy. My husband remarked on how "clean" everything tastes (grease kills his stomach). The lunch menu can't be beat, and they have a good deal going with their daily specials. We will absolutely be back and will continue to support this wonderful business!

    Nachos Blancos

While in Humble I had a craving for some lunch Nachos. I found this location because it was close to the bed and breakfast we were staying at, plus it was located on the banks of Lake Houston. The place was nice and it had the look of a cantina. The service was great and our server was attentive and everyone that walked by checked on us. The nachos were adequate. We ordered the Nachos Blanco which came with chicken "fajitas" some black beans and sides of guacamole and sour cream. They did the job. They had some good looking margaritas and something that looked like a shake in a tall mug. Not sure what it was but it looked good. I wanted to sit on the patio but customers had a lot of dogs and we are allergic. Not a bad place but not the best either. The misses says it looks like a place you go to spend more on your drinks than on your meal.

    35$ flying fish "special"
    Madi C.

I wanna like this place but just can't... 35$ for a piece of fried fish and French fries that was supposedly a special. 20$ for an appetizer plate that resembled a kids plate. 8$ beers, 16$ margaritas, 1$ up charge for tajin.....subpar service and at this point I wouldn't be surprised if they charge you to walk through the door. A bit ridiculous if you ask me. They were good in the beginning but as a kingwood local you won't catch us here again. We'll be heading over to El jimador where the fried fish is 18$ and comes on a bed of rice with beans and tortillas included.

Was a quick lunch but the food was fantastic. Their salsa verde is incredible and quite addictive.

Went there for the first time last night for my friends birthday dinner. I can't express how enjoyable of an experience it was. Food was amazing. Angela our server was great she went above and beyond. Plus the birthday surprise they did for my friend was priceless. Definitely try the creamy did they serve with chips it's delicious

I went out for a quick lunch at Loco Cantina. The Tacos were great. I had the beef and my mom got the chicken. Both were tender with quality chicken and beef. They have a pretty decent drink menu but we had ice tea. The service was friendly and the restaurant looked pretty clean. The Day of the Dead theme is pretty cool.

Food is so delicious here, service is amazing, they never let your drink go empty. Large indoor restaurant and I think they said eventually they will have an outdoor patio area. Menu is very inexpensive and the perfect spot for a quick bite!

    Mexican Guacamole

This is your standard neighborhood Tex-Mex joint. Everything stays in the ballpark here. The feel here is familiar to what you expect as a houstonian when you go out for " Mexican Food". There's some day of the dead inspired decor up front and painted over a big wall. Our servers were super friendly and our baby loved to wave at them when they came by. Answered all my questions about the menu and the service was quick. Speaking of the menu, it is quite large, it might give Cheesecake Facory a run for amount of reading you sign up for when you try to order. That's truly my only suggestion, tighten up the amount different named menu items to simplify for guests. The food also hits all the expected notes. Got the Mexican Guacamole, which looked great with all the added tomato, onion, and jalapeño. The Queso Blanco was underwhelming, it would've tasted and looked better with some cilantro and onion. I ordered La Suegra (the mother-in-law) which was a grilled chicken breast smothered in poblanos, mushrooms, and cheese. Wasn't much to talk about or look at, but it tasted fine after a busy morning. Overall I think Loco Cantina would do in a pinch, which was the exact circumstance we visited under.

Came for the first time for a birthday dinner. Angela was our waitress and she was amazing. We had 12 people and the food came out all together and everything was delicious. I got a strawberry agua Fresca and the Juan's dinner. It was a huge portion and really good. the agua Fresca could have been a little more sweet, but it was still good. I can't wait to come back to try more food off the menu!

I've been to the original location in Spring Branch, but this was my first time visiting this location. The bar is located in a shopping strip off of 59. Parking is plentiful. Unlike the original location, you do not have to scan your ID (if you've been to the Spring Branch location, then you know what I'm talking about). It was pretty early on a Saturday evening, so it wasn't terribly busy. I sat at the bar. I don't know the bartender's name that served me, but she was nice. I ordered the Kingwood which is a gin based cocktail with cucumber. The drink was fine, but it was a little tart for my preference. A splash of simple syrup would have balanced it out. I did request for it to be less spicy (it has jalapeño in it). They have live music, though when I was there, they didn't have a band playing. They serve typical bar food like burgers, salads, and nachos. The vibe wasn't quite the same as the location in Spring Branch, but it was fine. This is a nice option for craft cocktails in Kingwood.

Ambiance: 5/5 Nestled in the shopping strip center off 59 HWY from the outside it blends until you notice the sign and you see "cocktail lounge" I believe it's a first the front of Kingwood and I got excited and had to stop in. Plenty of parking and casual attire is welcome. But if you want to don your full on spurs, Stetsons and swagger or your surf threads, go right ahead! Although I'm sure shirt and shoes are required and you'll probably get cold since there is no sun or waves inside. Once inside the theme is as the name of the bar is, Cowboys and Surfers. Plenty of seating from booths, tables and bar. And there's also pool table and shuffle board. There was a live band "Pack of Strays" playing and was enjoyable. The lounge has live music on certain days and a Happy Hour everyday from 4-7, so I will have to come back to check that out. Service: 4/5 I sat at the bar and bartender didn't really engage much, though I noticed him engaging with a couple of select groups. No I wasn't on my phone when I walked in, if anything I make it a point to be mindful when entering any place as to note my surroundings and also be able to tell what the vibe is like. Though the service wasn't necessarily anything noteworthy, which attention & engagement would've made the experience/review a 5, the drinks were specially crafted which takes mindfulness to make. Food/Drinks: 4/5 Their menu has multiple options when it comes to drinks and also offer some food selections. I didn't get to try the food, but saw some items that looked interesting and want to try. They also have a list of beers and wine, so again, something for every taste. For this visit I only had two drinks. Beach Break: 4/5 with choice of Gin or Vodka (I went with gin of course) it has a refreshing taste as it is shaken with fresh cucumbers and lime juice, it also has simple syrup. It was more tart than I would think it probably was going for. I did appreciate that they didn't go heavy on the sweetness, but would've liked it with agave as the fresh ingredients would go well with it. For my next visit I will likely ask to substitute with agave as they do have it and it was in my next drink. The Kingwood: 4/5 crafted with my favorite "Hendricks gin" and named after the neighborhood we live in, this cocktail is also refreshing and enjoyed more than the Beach Break. It went down easy, bartender did ask if I was good with the jalapeño that it's muddled with and this time I opted to only have it with muddled cucumber. Again refreshing and not tart so maybe this is the alternative to Beach Break. It is made with topo chico and Tajín rim. Overall it is a laid back environment, live music and the drink options are promising, it's a cocktail shop (candy shop). If you live in the area or find yourself in the area, do yourself a favor and come kick up your boots and hang ten.

Since it was our first visit, our waiter took the time to recommend some of the restaurant's favorites. The manager also stopped by our table to check on our experience. When we told her how kind and attentive our waiter had been, she surprised us with a complimentary Parry's beer cup and bottle opener. The food was fresh, delicious, and exceeded our expectations. The garlic knots were incredibly soft, buttery, and packed with garlic flavor. Ended up taking half of it home which I finished later in the evening and I have to agree. It was a really good chicken sandwich. And I can't forget the fries. They were great too.
