Good food and portions, friendly & attentive waitstaff, and clearly a returnable-place!

First time visit. Stopped in with my daughter on a Saturday morning for breakfast. The waitress was friendly and took care of us quickly. My daughter had the Blueberry pancakes and could only eat one of the two that were served. I had the 3 egg special, with 4 pieces of sausage toast and home fires. All the food was cooked very well. My daughter and I go to breakfast almost every Saturday and try local establishments, their food was better in some ways and about the same as other places. We both had coffee (which is above average). $20. out the door (includes tip). The decor is dated, but I think that's what helps give character to these types of restaurants. We'll be back. Will also go back for lunch or dinner some time. read more

I love Pappou Cafe! It is my go-to place in Parma for weekend breakfast or lunch. Usually it is pretty easy to get a seat if you party is 4 or less. Food is good. I have not tried something I have not liked yet. I would suggest getting the salad bar as it is always fresh and the soups offered are tasty. Waitresses are also nice and good at there jobs. Great place to grab an affordable meal. read more

Just had dinner at pappou. Wasn't real hungry so decided if a good soup was on the salad bar I would get the salad and soup. Hostess said it was potato which is my favorite. My husband got ayce fish and I got salad bar knowing I could get full on both salad and soup. Went to the salad bar no potato soup. Just clam chowder and chicken noodle no noodles in it. You'd think the hostess would know the soups , right?? Salad bar was ok. I told our waitress about what the hostess told me and she blew me off Didn't have a comment at all you would have thought maybe she would've said well can I get you something else all I had was a skimpy salad and a couple crackers. A nice bowl or two of potato soup would've been wonderful!! Again I mentioned it to the hostess as I was leaving and again no no comment. Last time we go there the only good thing was my husband did enjoy his fish that's why I gave it two stars! read more

This place is great! It's family owned and the food is well made and the service is great. The menu is very extensive, and they have the best breakfast. I've been coming here for years and their hot cakes are spectacular and their breakfast specials are always spot on. They also have a large menu for dinner, with a fantastic soup and salad bar. Love this place! They have an amazing soup and salad bar. The veggies are always super fresh and crisp! They have at least 2 soup options which rotate daily. My favorite is the Italian wedding soup which is served on Thursdays. They are also very reasonably priced. It is $7 for unlimited soup and salad. But you can get a meal for around $10 which includes the salad bar! Can't beat that! read more

Had dinner with 6 friends. Everything was good. True the fish, pork chops, gyro, tuna melt, penne-ENORMOUS bowl of pasta!, and pierogies (potato). So good. When you want good diner food and are in the area, I would definitely recommend trying them out. I visited Pappou's today for the first time in a few years and was pleasantly surprised! We came in for breakfast and I was overwhelmed by the HUGE breakfast menu. It was a lengthy process to choose what I wanted to order and some specials were only available on weekends which I thought was kind of annoying. I got the Extreme Slam and it was FABULOUS!! it was a lot of food for the price and served hot and fresh although the bacon was a little overlooked but who cares minor details. I even had to get a box which I never do! Overall the service was quick and kind and I would definitely recommend it to all! Great experience for a family restaurant! read more

Service excellent price very reasonable . Hubby and I went before was great we were little nervous about going with gma very picky Eater SHE LOVED IT ! I ordered the seafood platter fish was little dry but shrimp scallops were good suppose to have crab cake but chef thought looked old so gave me extra shrimp and scallops. Server was very nice and helpful hubby had chicken was awesome gma had spaghetti they gave her a HUGE plate she loved it and garlic bread. A friend of mine has been mentioning that she and her daughter have been here and like it. I told her that it has been a long while since I was there. About twenty some years ago I had went with my then husband and his parents. I ended up having hair in my order and never went back until I took my boyfriends mother there for breakfast. It was just okay. The weird thing is they put the jelly in a very small paper cup. It was also somewhat hard like it had been placed in it for awhile, not fresh. Anyway getting back to our most recent breakfast visit about a week and a half ago, it was still just an average meal and the jelly is still served the same way! For me there are many other places to go to for better breakfast food but at least there wasn't any hair in it. read more

I don"t thimk the food was that good we had breakfast there last Sunday food was on the cold side server was friendly, the thing that turned me off was the booth seats , highly soiled and actually black around the hedges I looked around and all the booths were just about the same.Will not be back . really need to be cleaned! read more

Good prices, friendly service, big portions and food quality is decent diner style

This is my favorite place to eat breakfast. The gyro meat and egg breakfast is fabulous. The tzatziki sauce is one of the best recipes I have ever had.. and trust me, i have gone to my fair share of Greek festivals! Also included with the meal is hashbrowns and toast. The homemade jam is delicious and I enjoy smothering it on everything. It adds a fabulous flavor to the gyro meat! read more

We head there for Breakfast at least twice a month. Their meals are a generous size and they have very unique items. Services is very personable and the decor is ok-could be updated more. They use Yukon Gold potatos and they are so buttery and delish! Coffee is always hot and service is fast-no complaints. Going out to eat should be a pleasant experience- not one that leaves you feeling you did something wrong. Food is pretty good. Service is ok . My food was not made correctly. I ordered the Crazy Breakfast Pizza, which specifically says is made with Swiss and American cheese. When it came out it had cheddar instead of American. I asked the waitress to simply add American cheese to it instead of throwing it away and making a new one- however that caused the waitress to snub me and my table the rest of the visit. She never apologized for the meal being made incorrectly or asking how the food was once it came back out. I shouldn't be made to feel I did something wrong when my food was not made as listed on the menu. After that our coffee was not refilled without asking the waitress- once again she gave us an attitude. This is my 2nd time there in 2 weeks. The 1st time the service was great- had the same waitress both times. I don't know if she starting having a bad day after I requested my food be corrected. However, I will give that place one more try on service and give the waitress the benefit of the doubt. read more

first time here .. based on the other Yelp reviews I expected a lot more .. I am going to give it another chance when I order a menu item .. today I just had soup + salad since it is a Friday during Lent & clam chowder was a soup choice .. let's start there .. this was not clam chowder .. it was watered down potato soup with HUGE chunks of potato in it .. typically I do not use a knife to aid in the eating of soup but the potato chunks made it necessary .. found 1 small clam in my bowl .. a good idea when trying to doctor up a potato soup to be a clam chowder is to add plenty of clams & clam juice .. in other words it should taste like clam chowder .. salad bar offerings were ample .. the ice burg lettuce was in big pieces & due to being under a bright light I had to pick thru a lot of browned pieces .. gonna try it again .. hoping for a better experience next time & perhaps better tasting soups when I do not have to go meatless .. ! read more
