Website says they close at eight. I called repeatedly at 7:50, to no avail, until I finally got an answer with no one that would speak and then hung up on me. I get it, they want to get out by 8 o'clock. That being said they're close time should be 750 if that's what time they're gonna stop taking orders at. We were passing through and wanted pizza. The other place in town was closed, so we stopped into Pappy pizza to eat. First of all, no one greeted us and once they noticed we were in the restaurant, treated us like it was a hassle to have a customer. We were super hungry, so we ordered anyway so we ordered a large veggie with ham added. After 20 minutes it finally came out. The dough was still raw and slippery. The vegetables were really old, you could tell by the flimsyness and smell. We didnt eat it and asked for our money back. The girl working was really angry and just threw the money at us and said "whatever". Dont eat here, dont waste your money, this place needs to go out of business read more

My husband and I were in town house hunting, and we had a few minutes to kill before going to the next house. Decided to stop in and try a local place. The waiter was very kind and the pizza was delicious. These reviews don't give it justice. I ordered the southwest chicken pizza- it was more of a buffalo chicken pizza, but it was good. The only reason I wouldn't give 5 stars is because my husband ordered a calzone and he said it was good but not awesome. They also charge 50 cents for a small container of marinera. I thought that was stupid and think the first one should be complimentary when ordering a calzone. The decor to the restaurant was cute though and the prices were reasonable. If we end up moving here, I'd come again. read more

Hate to be hard on a small local business, but this pizza is definitely deserving of the bad review... We had a taco/Mexican pizza and the pepperoni pizza... Both pizzas equally bad, I mean on the level of worst pizza I've ever had bad... Zero flavor, terrible crust, my wife, kids and I were all like "I can't even tell what I'm eating"... May as well have been the box it came in, actually the box may have been better tbh... Maybe next time we"ll just order the box and give it a try! Who knows, can't be worse... i attend the middle school and pappys recently came out with rules and the man who is in charge of the rules has been harassing and threatening us for doing the simplest things like standing, and leaving to go outside and back. Ordered a cheese pizza to go with only one table occupied inside. It took 40 minutes for a large cheese pizza & the pizza was burnt. This place has continously gone downhill in taste & quality. We took a long break from Pappy's after many disappointing visits. The last few meals grossed us out enough that we stopped eating here. The beef in the chili appeared to be frozen beef crumbles because there were the Same. Uniform. Shape. In addition to some sort of cheese slices, the grilled cheese appeared to have some sort of cheese "spread" that didn't fully melt which is just nasty. We'll try the pizza across the street next. This place is just not good anymore. I wish someone with some real culinary talent in addition to Sweet T's & Fat Tiger came to town. They would make a killing. Also? Updated review on 9/13/20 because the site won't let me edit my first review: NEVER again. We'd been loyal customers since day one, leaving good reviews where we could, and certainly overlooking a LOT because we understand the challenges small businesses face. After a year of inconsistent food, we'd FINALLY filled up their ridiculous loyalty card, which was SUPPOSED to entitle us to one free large pizza. In fact, on our last visit, the girl at the window marked our last space and said in a friendly tone "Awesome- you get a free one on your next visit!", which is what we understood was the case, as well. Fast-forward to tonight, after informing the girl on the phone we had our free pizza card filled and to make a note, we were charged over $33. at the window (for a large and a small pizza)! When I said, "Oh, wait-" and handed the girl our card, she curtly said "This is no good- it's already been used". I was incredulous. I said, "No, ma'am, it hasn't" but she kept arguing it had been, pointing forcibly at the last "x" on the card. I WAS going to point out that IF it had already been redeemed, why did I still have the stupid thing- as a souvenir? Don't they keep the cards when they're redeemed? Moreover, even their own employee agreed that I was to return with it to get my free pizza. This girl was glaring at me like I was trying to steal something, which was just over-the-top insulting. I told her to keep their loyalty card, and keep their pizzas. She quite rudely said "NO problem!" and made a "screw you" face that said she REALLY wanted to give me a finger gesture and filled me with a rage I've not had in a long, looooong time. I not only won't be back, but I won't be suffering their up-and-down quality, either. I frankly hope they bankrupt themselves if this is how they value their regular customers. read more

My son and I ordered hot wings and tots. The wait was well over 30 minutes and they brought both of our orders out combined. We had to separate our own orders. Like all of the wings piled in a basket and the tots piled in a basket. Then I had to ask for plates. Then I had to ask for sauce. When I needed a new drink, I had to go ask for it. The prices were very reasonable, the place looks cool, and the staff was friendly. They were also quick with our order. Unfortunately, the pizza was very bland and like something you got during school lunch in middle school. The crust is just that, no flavor in it at all, and there was basically no sauce on the pizza. The breadsticks are literally just bread, no garlic or seasoning or any flavor. None of us could finish more than one slice of the pizza and actually preferred to just eat the "breadsticks." Wow... I went here visiting the local state park, and the cow zones are stellar. They stand out specifically in the unique crunch they develop on the outside but they are also incredible in the overall quality and taste, and while you do have to wait a while in busy hours it's well worth it, and the prices are fair. Sunday evening 7:10. They do not answer phone. I drive up there and at 7:20 they "have already shut off the oven," and are snooty about it. Fast forward 3 months that I never go back. Sunday evening 6:49 Blondie wastes 30 seconds explaining how backed up up they are and 35-40 minutes. Never offered to even take my order. Another girl is there sitting on her duff. It was obvious they did not want to work. I drove to Dominos in Dickson, placed my order and was back home in their 35 minute window. This place is staffed with children who seem to have no interest in the place have a good rep or making a dime. Owner must be clueless. read more

We called the place across the street( (Paul's) who took our order and provided excellent service. This was my first visit to Pappy's and will definitively return! The place is clean and wait staff are friendly, attentive & courteous. After reviewing the many pizza choices, I opted for the Mexican Pizza with Chicken. It came out with "fresh ripe tomatoes & romaine lettuce" which was sooo good. The crust was thin & tender and the pizza was very tasty. If I had a suggestion for this pizza, it would be to offer some taco sauce for a little zing. read more

The wait time took a bit of a commitment, but I think they were still working out some staffing issues. We had their pizza and it's not bad. Some unique choices. The four stars are for the wings. Carolina Mustard and teriyaki are very good and something different for this area. The wings are of good size with lots of meat and the sauces are great. First visit here! Our pizza was pretty yummy (we had supreme) and I loved the sauce! There seemed to be only one guy rubbing around and delivering to/taking orders for all the tables. Because of this-we had to wait awhile to get our menus, and then wait awhile again before he came back before we could place our orders. Once our order was in the pizza came out pretty quick though-which we are appreciated. So I don't feel like our wait time was really an issue with our waiter so much. More like I just felt he should've had other staff helping him with tables. Seemed to be a pretty popular place. They had live music & the room with the performers was full! We set in the other room where we could still hear the performers-but it wasn't quite so loud for us since we had young kids. This is a place we would go again. read more

Very good pizza and very good appetizers! The best fresh pizza in town. Makes Paul's taste like cardboard-style school cafeteria pizza. My one thing that kept me from giving a five-star is the appetizer sampler portions were a little meager for the price. Tasted good, but was not anywhere comparable to the portions one gets from, say, an Applebee's appetizer sampler. Only drawback, good food, I would recommend. Oh, and really good people running it. My family and I love to eat at Pappy's! We just moved to White Bluff from Nashville and absolutely love the Pappy's Favorite pizza. And my boyfriend is a vegetarian, so thank you for having the Tree Hugger option! Prices are very good compared to other pizza places. We love the staff there, as they are always so nice and willing to help in any way possible. I also love that you can call in a pick up order and drive right up to the window without even getting out of the car. Took my son's to Pappy's Pizza because they have been begging to go and try the new pizza joint. We arrived for lunch and the place was not that busy. Placed our order and was told to pick a table to sit at. We waited 30 minutes before I went and inquired about my order. The young lady at the order window asked what my order was and I told her. She said that they will have it shortly. Another 10 minutes go by and I guess the manager came by and noticed that we did not have a pizza on our table and that we have been sitting there for a long time. He asked me what my order was and will check on it. He came back shortly and told me that my order had been misplaced and that they are working on it now. We finally got our pizza after sitting patiently for 45 minutes and it was not that good. The pizza is mediocre and and not worth the time or effort to try this restaurant. My family will not return after this bad experience. read more
