Wow! My first time trying Puerto Rican food and it did not disappoint!! We were sat right away on a Sunday evening. The staff are the most friendliest people ever. So sweet & kind. I got the mofongo with shrimp and it was DELICIOUS!!!!!! The rice was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The mash with veggies mixed with shrimp omg perfection. The salad was really good too. MUST TRY THEIR SPICY SAUCE. It is delicious. It's a small cute restaurant full of so many decors!

I've been wanting to come here forever and finally did! You can eat outside in parklets or inside. Food came out quickly and service was excellent. Ambience is authentic and casual. Highly recommend for yummy meal and casual gathering! They are open 7 days a week!

Great spot for Puerto Rican food! They have huge portions and the food is amazing. We came for an early dinner on a Friday, arrived at 5:30pm and our table of 4 was seated right away. It's cozy and colorful inside, the decor is fun and bright! They have a happy hour from 3-6pm too with a small discounts on some cocktails and small dishes. I ordered the TriFungo - Puerto Rican Mash and it was amazing! The mofongo is made of mashed green plantains, sweet plantains, yuca, and garlic and onion. It was so flavorful and delicious! I got it with chicken which was smothered in sauce, so good. It also came with a side of rice, red beans and maduros. We were so full at the end of the meal. Definitely recommend!

Had a wonderful lunch at parada 22 . The food was so good with wonderful friendly service. There was so much food that it was plenty for two people. The restaurant is very clean with wonderful music .

The vibe of this place is the best. I visited during Friday lunchtime and it wasn't crazy at all. Our party of 3 sat down almost instantly and was helped with great customer service. They took all of our orders in less than 15 minutes the food came out. Everything was delicious. And let me tell you, those tostones were out of this world. Soooo good. The fried chicken was bomb. We licked our plates clean. Portions of everything were big as well. We are definitely hitting up this spot again! Bravo Parada 22!

    Pollo Salad- delicious hee

I've been here a handful of times, now and everything constantly tastes the same- DELICIOUS AND FLAVORFUL! I got the Pollo Salad, and since it's not broken- why change it up. I'm not one to PICK a salad for dinner, but the way they make, prepare and present their Pollo Salad- is perfect! I love the freshness of the tomatoes , and crunch of the leafy greens mixture with the pickled onions on top and fresh avocado and 2 huge chicken breast pieces with A LOT of sautéed onions and I think I'm missing another topping, but it's ALL DELICIOUS! The sever was sweet and helpful, since I have allergies with MSG, and luckily there's not anything on this grilled chicken salad. The food was fresh and made rather quickly and I love the lively music as well as all the artwork within their establishment. They also have an outside sitting area, too. The coconut flan was delicious too. Perfect flavor of flan and then great texture with the toasted coconut! Parking can be cumbersome, but if you eat later, there's always parking after 8pm in the neighborhood. Unless I just get lucky? Hee. I will definitely be back here again!

This is the 3rd time I have eaten Latin American food and I love it. The food I had delivered to my residence from this place was so unbelievably delicious! The fried chicken was simply Devine ! The veggies and the Spanish rice was top quality and was like butter in my mouth. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are interested in getting some Latin American food. The service was great and the ambiance of the restaurant was great from what I had read in other reviews. I give them 5 stars

Super cute quaint hole in the wall The restrooms annoyingly thru the kitchen & I wore a maxi dress & had to hold it in my hand so it wouldn't b on the rubber dishwasher floor mats. I honestly don't recall exactly the name of the dishes that we ate but I know with 100% certainty that they were bomb AF ! super super flavorful ! I would love to return and I will recommend forever ! Friendly professional staff, average prices. the sangria is not strong FYI. but the whole place is a vibe! Interior seating limited

Very busy but the food was excellent! The mofongo was very similar to back home and arroz mampostaeo was also great, will come back to try more dishes!

Cute cozy spot on Haight serving Puerto Rican food. Only one waitress working the whole restaurant tonight, and she was friendly and welcoming. I've ordered the mofongo before and it is yummy. Tonight I tried the chincharrones de pollo. The breading was too thick for my liking. The crust was crispy but kept eating chunks of breading. I wish there was regular chincharron on the menu also. Beans, rice, and tostones were satisfactory. The yuca fries and the sauce it came with was nice as well. We enjoyed the house hot sauce and put it on everything.

This was new to the menu. Very similar to Arancini. Delicious!

Small restaurant on Haight, but serving great Puerto Rican food. Feels like you're on the island once you step in. Service is excellent and our server was very personable. Only had some small plates for appetizers and they were all tasty. Will definitely come back for a bigger meal.

I can't find on the Parada 22 site or on a bottle - but other Puerto Rican restaurants that sauce is "pique" - and yes, I think it's excellent as well.

We also discussed his upbringing in NYC and his long history in the Bay Area's challenging culinary scene. This conversation happened before I had the opportunity to taste the succulent Puerto Rican dishes on his menu. Chef Erick is a truly humble and professional culinary artist. He lets his cooking do the talking, allowing his ingredients and timely combinations to showcase his superb culinary skills. From our conversation, I learned that he genuinely cares about the quality of his ingredients. While we talked about his experiences cooking for all kinds of tables in the Bay Area, from VIPs and celebrities to daily blue-collar San Franciscans seeking standout meals, Chef Erick answered at least five phone calls. He diligently coordinated with his local suppliers to ensure he, and in turn his customers, would have access to nothing but the best ingredients during the upcoming weekend rush. Most Puerto Ricans, including those adopted (see Chef Anthony Bourdain's memoirs), know a Puerto Rican restaurant is truly judged by the quality and flavor of its Pernil. This slow-roasted pork shoulder or leg is marinated in a robust herb paste. Many Puerto Rican families guard their herb paste recipes as closely as The Coca-Cola Company guards its Coca-Cola recipe. Pernil is the centerpiece of holiday feasts and family celebrations. That's why I chose this menu to celebrate meeting Chef Erick. Without hesitation, he prepared for me--someone born and raised in Puerto Rico--his masterfully concocted pernil with arroz con gandules and a side of maduros fritos. I have to say, this was the best Puerto Rican food I have tasted in all of California, from Santa Rosa to San Diego. I have visited all the restaurants in the Bay Area: El Coqui, both Sol Foods locations, Parada 22, and Lola's Lounge in Sacramento. I admit, this is the best and most authentic plate of Puerto Rican cuisine I have enjoyed in 16 years exploring Latin Cuisine Restaurants in Northern California. If you like Puerto Rican cuisine and have not tried Puerto Rican Street Cuisine, you must add this restaurant to your "must-visit" places in California. Thank you to Ceci, all the cooks, and Chef Erick for helping me relive the experience of proper, authentic pernil y arroz con gandules like my abuelita used to make for us on "la lomita" in Hormigueros, Puerto Rico!

I have to say that Nopalito was facing an uphill battle with impressing me for a few reasons. First of all, I usually don't have good track record with the lower echelon Mexican restaurants in the city. I don't know why but I always find that the Mexican food by my place in Mountain View is much tastier. The next thing is that this place did not start off with complimentary chips and salsa. As I have said in other reviews for Mexican eateries, I am NOT saying that correlation equals causation. However, generally speaking, when I visit a Mexican restaurant/taqueria and there are no complimentary chips/salsa, I tend to subsequently not have a good meal. The last thing is that, like I mentioned in the prior paragraph, I didn't have the best experience when I had their food at the Local Kitchens near my place. I ordered their Trucha a la plancha, which was seared trout in a stew-like broth with beans and lettuce. I was pleasantly surprised by its tastiness. The flavors worked really well in this dish. The dessert situation was a little less exciting. They were out of both the concha as well as the bunuelo, both of which were my top picks. I ended up getting the flan, which was nice but nothing special. I don't think I have written the following disclaimer for any review thus far, but while I am giving this place a fairly decent review with a rating of four stars, I need to be clear that this review is one that is "on thin ice." The dessert situation was a little off-putting and I truly don't think I would have enjoyed the other items off the menu. However, I write my reviews on what I actually ate and not "what could have been" experiences so I will still be giving this place four stars because the fish was pretty tasty. I don't necessarily think I will rush back to this place but it's definitely better than my experience with their food at Local Kitchens.
