Okay... the results are in: I have eaten fish and chips at almost every place in the south county that serves it... and... This place is the best! I happened to be nearby, as I don't often go to Windsor since "Sea Food and Eat" went out of business a couple of years ago. And as much as this Paradise Grill has a plate that reminds me of what I loved most about Sea Food and theirs, I like this place even more... and here is why: The fish tastes like fish. I'm pretty sure it's rock cod, and it tastes great. Now, if you don't like fish that much, you might object to the fish here. If that bland, flavorless, all white cod that most places serve is what you prefer, this might not be the place for you. But if you like a big serving of real fish cooked in a unique and lightly seasoned panko style batter, this is it. Four(!) pieces of fish, along side a really nice salad (not Cole slaw like the online menu indicates) and a perfect amount of fries, this is it. Honestly, two people could share this and will be satisfied. The fries are nothing special, but the serving size is just right. Most places scrimp on the fish and then back it up with a mountain of fries, so you don't notice the paltry amount of fish you got. It's just the opposite here: A pile of fish and handful of fries. Just the right proportions! And the salad is really nice too... a light vinegar-based dressing, shredded lettuce and cabbage and some pickled onions and peppers that really adds to the meal. Usually, the Cole slaw adds nothing, more like an afterthought. And several places have just dropped it entirely. But this slaw-salad is just right. I also appreciate the outdoor seating and service. I'm still worried about getting Covid (again) so I'm not really comfortable sitting inside these days. The outside patio was very comfortable with plenty of air circulation. Yeah! I was thinking that $20 seemed like a lot for fish and chips... but as I traveled around and tried different places this summer, I found this to be about the average price today. You certainly do get your money's worth here. I managed to eat the whole thing... but it was a challenge. But it was so good I didn't want to stop! I have no idea what the rest of the menu is like... check the other reviews for that. But this place is the #1 place for Fish and Chips, and I can't wait to go back. I ordered the thumbs up burger with some changes and it came exactly how I ordered with amazing service. The gentleman was polite and was spot on with checking on us at perfect times. Establishment came under new ownership and I cannot stress how great of a change it has been! All the food I have gotten here has exceeded all of my expectations. Meat is cooked to perfection and the three mini burgers are the perfect size if you can't decide which ones to get. I choose salad for side, and let me tell you, their mixed greens with sliced apple is magical. They do not charge for tip, and you can leave some of it for your favor. But they didn't have any corner for tip tho I really wanted to. Second time when I went there, I had their original burger with all as planned. Man, Paradise burger is absolutely perfect and delicious. The true burger oakland and other fancy burger places in SF can't even close to what this guys are making. You must try their burger if you feel hungry while driving up or down highway 101 between wine districts and Bay Area. 2. Service 5/5 I was with my dog. 2.5 I'd say. Service was friendly, place was pretty open. Water you serve yourself. Food just didn't hit the mark though unfortunately. I had gotten a veggie sammich, compatriot had gotten a fried chicken sammich. We had also gotten an order of the garlic fries to share. The veggie sammich had no character really, not enough veggies to make it viable and barely any avocado to make it worthwhile. The chicken sammich he had gotten was dry and overcooked. About halfway he gave up and said we gotta stop by somewhere else. The garlic fries were not crispy, and what made them garlic was not them being tossed in garlic but this weird paste that was added to the fries. Certainly garlicky but not easy to eat by any sense. Just spelled poorly prepared overall. With many other options in the area, I doubt I would ever come back by again. Too many shortcomings despite the cheap price for food. read more

I order and paid extra for garlic fries and got extremely over cooked fries with no garlic and fries so bad that I could not even begin to eat them. I also asked for some ranch to go with the fries and did not get that either. I paid extra for what I wanted and got nothing that I asked for. My best advice is to eat there but do not even try to order delivery of any kind as they do not care a bit about the people that order delivery. read more
