Every time I come into town, I have to have my Paradise Cafe Maui Pancakes! It's hard to find a good combination of sweet & healthy pancakes, but this place has done it. The biscuits & gravy are incredible too--tastes like they just came out of grandma's kitchen. The only downside to Paradise Cafe is that it always seems to be busy and there's a decent wait to get in--because of this, the staff can also be quite busy. We ordered biscuits and gravy for a breakfast appetizer (ridiculous right !?) but I wanted to try them as I love biscuits and gravy . They were delicious, I can't explain what made them amazing but we didn't have anything left on the plate . I ordered the Sonora and again amazing. Our server offered their homemade salsa and that was good on the top . Not very spicy if that's a concern for anyone . We had a limited time in Crested Butte and we spent more than two hours here. It was crowded, the tables were so tightly spaced that the staff would run into me regularly when passing by. They were understaffed and it was quite expensive. The food was good and the servers were trying to cope as best they could. They were friendly but, it was just not a great experience due to some operational difficulties. Plan for 2-3 hours. read more

We been twice for breakfast at Paradise Cafe, both times around 10-11am and they were packed. We waited for available table about 30 minutes. Like all other places in Crested Butte this one is also short staffed. Service is a little slow but good, they don't pretend that they don't see customers on the door like in some other places. Food was great, first time I tried biscuits and gravy with 2 eggs and hash browns. Gravy was a little bit spicy and hash browns perfectly crispy. Next time I tried their chilaquiles. Best breakfast in Crested Butte (in my opinion). The cinnamon roll is an absolute must, best I've ever had. The restaurant is pretty small and usually has a wait in the morning, we usually opt to sit on the patio because the views are amazing. Pancakes are wonderful. Delicious omelettes. Breakfast quesadillas are delicious. I've never ordered anything from here that wasn't amazing. Servers and staff are polite enough. One time had a server who was a little grumpy, but I don't mind. Everyone has bad days and Crested Butte has a way of making you feel super chill and at ease, so small things don't bother you as much! Highly recommend. read more

After encountering longish waits at 2 other restaurants on a recent Sunday, we decided to dine at Paradise Cafe. The estimated wait for a table was 25 minutes proved to be pretty accurate. My wife and I each ordered huevos rancheros with green chili sauce, a house specialty. I upgraded mine with several dollops of fresh salsa that was provided on the side. So we wandered around town for a bit and came back after 20 minutes, we waited another 10-15 until 2 spots opened up at the bar where we were seated. We immediately ordered drink, Bloody for me and the mimosa cocktail (vodka, champagne and OJ) for my hubs. Both were great and strong! Service - 3 starts...staff wasn't very friendly nor service-oriented, we had to hunt down our check and practically beg someone to take our credit card. Looking for a lovely brunch while hangin' out in CB? This must be the place! Stopped in here on a tip from a local and wasn't disappointed. There are a handful of brunch spots in Crested Butte, but I think Paradise Cafe might be the best combo of size, friendly staff, and yummy food. We put our names in on a rainy Sunday and only had to wait about five minutes before getting a table. The restaurant itself isn't huge, but there is a patio (of course some crazy Coloradoans were brunching out there in the chilly rain). The menu is that of your typical brunch spot with a lot of southwestern flair--think huevos rancheros, burritos, and migas mixed in with pancakes, eggs benedict, and biscuits and gravy. We started out with two coffees and breakfast cocktails--a bloody mary (with bacon!) for me and a mimosa for him. For the main affair, I ordered a plate of huevos rancheros (Christmas-style) and suuuuuper loved it. Their green chili is one of the best, and the eggs were done to perfection. I was full for the rest of the day! Service was quick and friendly--you can tell the gals working there totally know what they're doing. Tip: they don't serve lunch on Sundays, so breakfast it is! I DID NOT want to try this place because the menu looks uninspired. Going out to breakfast is a big deal in my world, and it is so disappointing when the fare offered is sub what I can make at home. The location on 6th has a parking advantage over businesses on Elk. The building is historic and bursting with charm and character and uneven floors. This is a busy tourist weekend, and we were given a 35 minute wait time when we put out names in at the bar. My husband got a bloody mary and I got a mimosa to pass the time. I don't know what I did to the bartender, but I'm pretty sire she was trying to kill me. That thing was cheap sparkling wine with roughly 37 shots of vodka and the barest hint of some orange juice for color. I should be sober again by Tuesday. The husband liked his drink just fine. We were seated in under 30 minutes. I ordered the mahi mahi and eggs, 'cause where can you get fresher fish than CB, the husband got steak and eggs, and we split a Virginia buttermilk pancake. The pancake stole the show, hands down. It was light and fluffy and chock full of bird seed. It was so yummy, I ate my half without syrup, 'though I was told the syrup was good. Hubby's steak was tough, won't be ordering that again, my fish was better than it ought to have been, and we both pronounced our eggs perfect. The big guy liked his potatoes, and my fruit did not come out of a can. Our server was sweet and kept my water and coffee full, which goes a long way in my book. I love this little gem. The people are super, super nice and the food is yummy. I got the #1 over medium with hashbrown (added melted cheese) and sour dough bread with a side of veggie red sauce. We went here after taking the kids to rainbow park. Inside it was very hot so we opted to sit on the patio. It was nice, but maybe a little too breezy part of the time. They can't control the wind though! This was a super easy meal with our kids. They provided coloring pages, and you can order breakfast or lunch. One kid ordered chicken strips and fries, and the other ordered a bagel with cream cheese and fruit. Nothing special but made it so easy to have so many options. My husband and I both ordered a hot sandwich and fries. Their French fries are great! Also their fruit is very fresh and nicely presented. All in all it was one of our better meals in CB.
