I got sold on this place bc of tiktok but even then the main thing that was highly confusing and a deal breaker was the fact that they only had one bar for their five pools and the only bar isn't located in the adult pool but rather in the family pool! Okay, that wasn't that horrible we could always come by there and get dranks. There isn't pool side service which wasn't any fun at all. We ended up leaving to go to OB for food smh. We come back for a swim and some dranks and the only bar isn't located closed! Mind you, it's a Saturday night I it was only 8. I'm not sure when their bar closes but this is just for families and not recommended for rich aunties lol. Now, I can say I had a great swim! One of the receptionist recommended a pool that isn't that popular and I got a great swim in, that's one of the reason why I went there! I really wanted to swim like I was a kid again, in a pool, just for fun, doing water tricks. Actually I will give them three stars for that and the pools are heated. The coffee maker did not work, the refrigerator was rusted, and the bathtub was extremely small and not clean. These are basic expectations that simply were not met. The on-site menu is priced like a luxury hotel, with items such as $12 oatmeal, $20 bagels with salmon, and $18 breakfast sandwiches. There is nothing about the property or overall experience that justifies those prices. Noise and management are also a problem. At 9:30 on a Saturday morning, there were 20 to 30 people in the room next door playing loud music and carrying on, with no intervention or enforcement from staff. Access and layout make things worse. The roads are essentially one-lane and not suitable for walking, especially for older guests or anyone with mobility concerns. Parking is extremely limited, tight, and poorly managed. Even at check-in, there is no designated area, so cars stack up at the entrance, immediately creating congestion. That was the first sign of how disorganized the property is. Overall, this place is significantly overpriced for what it offers. We booked a weekend getaway here for our 25th anniversary. We previously stayed in January 2025 and had a great experience, so we returned for two nights. Check-in was smooth, but we were surprised to find our total differed from our Expedia receipt. We were told parking would be $49/night, which hadn't been disclosed on any communication received from Expedia. To their credit, the manager kindly reduced it to $22/night, which we appreciated--though it still felt odd given each bungalow has a designated parking spot, and we were not charged on our previous stay! The bungalow itself was clean, spacious, and well-stocked with coffee and two complimentary waters. There was a noticeable lingering cleaning product smell for a while, but overall the room was comfortable. We also enjoyed the small private yard with chairs, and the location near the jacuzzi was a plus (even if our previous visit had a better view). One ongoing frustration is the lack of in-room entertainment. Although were were given a list of channels, the TV itself has no guide, so you're left scrolling through channels, and there are no streaming options or ability to connect your own device. After a long day out, that made it harder to unwind. Overall, we had a good stay, but a few inconveniences may make us consider other options next time. read more

Tried it again.. so prices of course are quite a bit more... booked a premium lanai room it is spacious but was in the backend of the resort and this is a big property. Can only park one car in the space. They do have a lot of amenities, room service now that is reasonable as far as room service goes.. restaurants on site the island market. Mini golf that is free and several pools. We did have some hiccups.. Keurig didn't work, phone was down.... They did fix it once I called the front desk from my cell. It was pretty crowded this weekend so they did the best they could. Check in is at 4:00 so that's pretty late. If you book you need to do 2 nights to enjoy it.. we did it for a staycation and Easter. Parking is available in the lot next to the conference center or right in front of your room (depending on the room you book). HUGE property, you'll definitely get your steps in. I believe it's over 44 acres. Lots of seagulls, turtles, ducks and other wildlife roaming the property. Great views of the bay and several ponds along the property as well. They have mini golf, sound baths, yoga, bikes and more available for your excursions. The room was lovely, plenty of space, a semi private patio, parking right in front the door, a separate kitchenette (microwave, fridge, sink, coffee maker) a dining table, a walk in closet and spacious bathroom. read more

Stayed in a bungalow with fire pit & cove view for two nights. A great place for a staycation, family or couples trip, or even a solo getaway! Beautiful property with several pools, and a variety of things to do such as mini golf, tennis, pickleball, yoga, and options to rent bikes, boats, kayaks and more. Although this was a definite splurge ($49 daily resort fee and additional $49 daily parking fee on top of the room rate) I recommend coming here at least once. The grounds is open to the public, with public beach and cove access and a free public parking lot (but no overnight parking). We decided on a whim to drive to San Diego for the weekend. We chose paradise point because it's right in the middle of everything and I'm so glad that we did not only was service. Amazing from start to finish. They have two restaurants on site. A dock where you can walk out and rent kayaks, etc. two accessible beaches on the property and to me the best part is you can book your own bungalow, which is what we did. It had a nice garden view. It was so quiet and peaceful. We didn't hear anyone while we were inside. There are five pools . The only downside is only one of them had an outside bar. I thought that there would be more considering it's considered a resort, but of course they do have room service and all that we love the barefoot bar and the bartenders they even remembered our orders from the night before when we came back we decided not to dine at the fancier restaurant and went out instead. In all honesty if you had kids, you could probably spend your entire time at the resort and not need to leave. There's a store that stays open till about eight. There's a day spa all the pools the restaurants it was great. The views of the bay were nice. The room itself was nice very clean. Beds were comfortable even the pillows. There was a couch and there as well and a large shower. They even came to make up our room even though we were only there two nights. I'd stay again in a heartbeat. We had a great time.. read more

We had a great time staying at Paradise Point Resort for the weekend. We stayed in a Bayside Bungalow in the cove area. The room had a sofa bed, coffee table, end table, dining table with 4 chairs, entertainment center with TV, and a wet bar. There was a separate bedroom with a king size bed, two end tables, a desk, and a full size mirror. Both the living room and bedroom had sink/vanity areas and closets. The bathroom area was positioned in between with a tub/shower and toilet. We really appreciated this setup and it worked well for having people stay in the bedroom as well as on the sofa bed. The room was great at first glance, but there were some missed opportunities to make it fantastic. Some easy cosmetic fixes could have really elevated the experience, and it's really surprising that they were overlooked given the cost of the room. The light in the shower area is problematic. I don't know if there's a trick to it, but we each had the light turn off on us while in the shower. If there is a specific way to prevent this from happening, it should be communicated. There is one dedicated parking space right outside each room ($46/night). Our room had an open patio on the bayside with two chairs and a small table. Stepping off the patio, there was a small grass area before reaching the sand on the beach. This was super convenient as we had our dog with us. There was a bonfire pit on the public beach directly in front of the room, which we used to have a get together on one of the nights. We had drinks at Barefoot Bar and Grill, which were really good, but insanely expensive (over $40 for two mai tais to go in 12 oz cups full of ice). I had the breakfast burrito one morning from the food delivery menu. It was a little over $20. It wasn't bad, but I found it to be bland. The salsa that came with it didn't help at all and had zero spice, like no peppers had been used at all in making it. There are several walking paths around the property and lots of birds and turtles in the water, with plenty of areas to sit and watch them. There is also a tower to climb. We didn't have a chance to participate in the activities offered, but there are a lot. Among them - miniature golf, several swimming pools, tennis, a marina, and bikes. read more

The best pure example of beautiful san diego. My visit started with incredible service at the reception desk,I was welcomed graciously and felt immediately at home. I was offered an upgrade for my wife's birthday and when we entered the room we were astonished at how spacious and attractive our accommodations were. With five heated pools to choose we felt like we had a private pool with only a few guests although they were at capacity. Help when needed was only a phone call away with every service gladly offered. Riding bikes through the resort was a great tropical feel of many things to see surrounded by water. Keep in mind that the property is over 50 years old but that maturity lends itself to spectacular mature landscaping. I have been here many times and my best encounter and service is with Samantha in the front desk upon checking in!! She was so sweet, friendly, kindly greeted, and knowledgeable of the hotel and has a great positive attitude. She has exceeded a 5 star rating !!! I always liked the resort for its private beaches so know that I come here often and it's never a time I could say 5 stars satisfaction until now. Downside, I don't like how there's so much "public parking " for non guests now in the resort. I liked it more when it was private and can enjoy the entrance of the resort. Now it's always crowded - not for guest parking but takes away the entrances beauty approaching in. Food service is meh. I won't really touch on that because it's never that great when I tried it. Gift shop doesn't have much stuff and overpriced. Gym is nice. Pools are great if you're into it-but packed with families that will stay out all day so be sure to go out there at 7am and snag your chairs and shade. I kayaked, I jetskii'nod, I bonfire'd, but most importantly, I ate. Paradise Point is situated in what has been called a man-made island. Our room was awesome and the barn doors leading to the restroom was a nice touch. The pillows were a little too soft for my liking but I just stacked it on top of the pillows from the other bed that we didn't use. Our patio had a nice view of the...parking lot. I did love having to only send a quick text over to the staff for any questions I had as opposed to calling over for a simple question. Setting up reservations for dinner and water activities was easy enough. A QR code can be scanned at the Island Market and my party was able to reserve the amenities pretty easily. However, reserving the rooms entailed a lot of follow ups as there was a lot of miscommunication. Fortunately, the staff was friendly enough to remove our parking and resort fees for the complications that arose. SeaWorld is right next to Paradise Point so you can watch the fireworks from the beach at night if you prefer. My party had a bonfire dinner and finished off the weekend with fireworks. The staff are friendly, the water activities are fun, but reserving the rooms and checking in was a bit of a hassle. I wouldn't mind coming back here again, though. read more

I stayed here 2 nights with a colleague for a professional conference. I would not choose to come here, because our room was dirty and worn around the edges, the bedsheets had not been changed, the property is outdated, and overall this is by no means a "resort" unless you're maybe a time traveler from the 1960s. It wasn't dangerous or completely horrible, but there were just too many disappointments throughout our short stay that made the experience one I don't care to repeat. It's also impossible to escape the fact that Mission Bay is man-made and somewhat unappealing looking, underscored by the fact that the actual ocean and real beaches are just a hop, skip, and a jump away. So the "resorts" here just need to do better both on quality and price. The positives: the front desk staff was pleasant at check in. The staff at the valet/taxi stand were very friendly. The greenery and wildlife around the property are pretty. That's it. The room: Our bungalow-style room was right on the road and cars going by and chirps from locking/unlocking was not relaxing, so we never used the Adirondack chairs outside. The rooms are scattered about and are almost all right on the road, so there is a distinct feel that this is a cheap roadside "no tell" motel. The room had many issues. The 2 power outlets (all 4 sockets) near the coffee maker were not working, and the provided cups very flimsy such that I spilled my coffee when the lid popped off. The room decor was somewhat odd and looked cheap and worn out -- grout missing between the tiles, many stains, rub marks, etc. on the furniture, walls, and baseboards. The tub/shower switch was stuck on "shower" and I got sprayed each time I went to turn on the water. The light/fan seemed to have some sort of energy-saving function, but it was malfunctioning and kept turning off every time I took a shower, strange and annoying and completely out of line with a resort experience. Lots of small details that were disappointing and detracted from the initial impression, which was mediocre at best. The chief problem that indicates Paradise Point is far from world-class happened the first night when my colleague/roommate came home and her bed was full of sand! I noticed stains on my sheets. Housekeeping seemed to have simply pulled the covers back up without changing the sheets. Since I was asleep, my roommate waited until morning then made several calls to the front desk where she was told "no manager on duty" and hung up on. Once a manager was available, she told my roommate she would have the sheets changed "and I'll stop by your room to chat." The manager did not call or stop by, so my roommate called again, and the manager said, "are you sure it was sand and not detergent in your sheets?" I can deal with the occasional housekeeping mishap, but there is absolutely no excuse for staff who blame problems and issues on the guest. The last morning, I noticed the tile floor was filthy after getting into the shower and seeing dirt and grime in the tub. It seems housekeeping didn't bother to mop the floors carefully, or the motor lodge layout means tons of dirt is being tracked in. I used my bath towel to shuffle over to my clothes, where I quickly put my socks and shoes on so as to not have to walk on the floor. As gross as carpet is, it would probably be a better choice at least to hide the dirt and grime. The layout of the property is also annoying. The conference center was a walk from our room, and it got tiring quickly walking back and forth between the room, the conference center, the lobby, and our colleagues' rooms. The parking lots looked cheap, paved with asphalt and with numerous cracks and reseal lines. You would think for the room rates the parking lots would have been redone at some point. I don't mind walking, but the entire experience just felt like walking through the parking lot at the mall and really cancels out any relaxation feel the place is trying to achieve. All in all, even at the discounted group rate we paid, I would not choose to stay here again. Avoid if you can. read more

There are so many improvements that could make this better. First, this is truly a family budget-friendly resort (also said by my Uber driver), not a conference hotel. The rooms are dated, and I had ants, giant gnats crawling on me when I was in bed, and mosquitoes in the room. I did not open the doors to get outside bugs in) maybe because my "upgraded room" faced the beach they came in. The room was spacious, so that was a plus, and it does have a beach resort theme with the color scheme. The bathroom was renovated and is lovely. There is excellent water pressure and temperature in the shower. However, the body wash was out and not checked. I'm assuming it's not an everyday checklist item The clean crew left chemicals in my room and only halfway cleaned the sink when I saw the hair clippings remaining from a morning shave. The most disappointing was the transit system of shuttles. The mechanism to call the front desk and request a ride or text a number and request a ride is DEEPLY flawed. I had to walk to the front desk, which was not close to the way with luggage, because the driver either didn't come or didn't come on time. On my last day, I contacted the driver/ front desk via text messages to request a pickup from my room (I resolved I was not going to get a ride from the conference center back to the hotel room because, again, there was no way to contact the shuttle/cart. I thought they would be on time if I contacted them to pick me up at a designated time. They responded that they would pick me up 5 minutes after my suggestion. I waited over 12 minutes after my suggested time, and as I walked again to the hotel lobby, I ran across the cart coming up late. The food is slightly overpriced, but that's expected for a "resort." This resort was definitely made for families to enjoy. The only thing that fell short was the cleanliness of the bungalow. The bungalow needed a good cleaning in the kitchen and bathroom areas. What the absolute F*ck happened to this place? We're currently checked into a bayside bungalow with the attached 2 queen room. Rooms 434 and 435. They're absolutely DISGUSTING. Covered in bugs and I'm itching like crazy. The first night I told the front desk about it via the chat and they sent a young kid over with a towel and a spray bottle. Not surprised the issue was worse today. I sent them pictures and videos and texted it over since no one answered the phones. One hour later no response so I reached out to Expedia and was told that someone would reach out to me immediately to move me out of the room. My whole body is itching uncontrollably. Don't stay here. It's literally giving Motel 6 vibes but for the price of a four seasons. I'm not the only one having this experience. Paradise Point is always a great getaway. The staff very helpful and pleasant. The text system to get any and all needs promptly taken care of during your stay is convenience at its best. I love how there's a an option of an Adult only pool in addition to the other 3 on the grounds. They have in room aluminum waters you can reuse at stations throughout the resort and at the pools. The beachfront bungalows are my favorite since you wake up to the ocean everyday and my husband has the easiest way to surf fish. There's an abundance of activities and a water sport center to rent any conveyance for fun on the water! The barefoot grill is casual dining and a lovely place but a more refined cuisine and ambiance is the Tidal restaurant. There are so many cozy places to sit by a fire pit or fire place. read more

I could tell from the negative reviews that people were being nitpicky and I ignored them and went away. So glad I did! For the amount we paid (roughly $300 a night plus tax), we really felt like we got our money's worth. Did we have a beachfront room? No. Was every bit of service on point? No. But we were on a budget, and the garden view room we stayed in was comfortable and cute. Plus, the special rate we paid included parking and resort fees, so we weren't hit with sticker shock when we checked out. We were looking for an affordable beach resort that allowed dogs and wasn't too far of a drive from LA. This place checked all those boxes. We stayed for three nights, but I felt like we could've stayed for two more and never would've been bored. We rented a surrey bike one afternoon, a boat one morning, got a couples massage, swam in the adult pool, and hung out on the beach. We only left the island once, to go out to dinner -- but we should've stayed because the food at the resort's restaurants was so much better than what we got off island. It's hard to put a hotel's atmosphere into words, but I'll try. This resort felt like a blast from the past, the kind of place where people vacation with their families from generation to generation. So many resorts have a cold, corporate feel; in trying to be modern, they lose all character. This place may not be state-of-the-art, but it's charming and warm, and I will take that over corporate any day. If you are from Los Angeles and you're tired of spending all your time in a car, come to this little tropical island so close to home, where you can walk (and bring your dog) everywhere. I had the pleasure of staying at Paradise Point as both a hotel guest and a conference attendee. The resort is amazing, and I think it is a great place for a staycation in Southern California. The staff were all super helpful and kind, definitely living up to the luxurious image. You can call or text them at any hours for a ride from their golf carts or anything else you might need. As a guest of the hotel I was very comfortable with their amenities. My bungalow had a hugeeee bed, so much space in the room in general. There was a huge walk-in closet too! And a back patio with two seats. Super super cute! It can probably use a bit of renovation but their property is so vast, they must cycle through the rooms. The one I was in can use some upgrades. Unfortunately I didn't get to enjoy much of the resort due to my conference schedule. I will say they had less activities available during the weekday, and yet you are still paying the same resort fees. Weekends have better activities if you are planning a stay here. Oh also I didn't like the bugs everywhere. Since the resort has so many plants. I found 1 flying bug and 2 crawling bugs during my 3 days/2 nights stay. As a conference attendee, it was difficult that everything is so spread out at the resort, I would have to take the golf cart or drive over. The first night I took the golf cart, I found that getting the ride back to my room was a challenge. Also I didn't like the wind blowing my hair and messing it up. So I decided to just drive my car to the conference area during the day time, and take the shuttles during happy hour or dinner hours where there would be drinks. I found that the staff was super kind and courteous and everything was prepared for us in a timely manner. The meals type we opted for on the different days had a variety of things: charcuterie board, heavy appetizers, light breakfast, brunch, dinner, breakfast. Mostly tasty... but I would say something for everything, and they had the option to accommodate to dietary needs. I have mixed feelings about coming back since it's so luxurious and enjoyable, but at moments it doesn't feel super convenient. For the purpose of a conference, sometimes I can quickly run up to my room and grab something during a quick break, but here, there is low benefit in staying at the conference hotel if you basically need to drive over anyways. Stayed over the 4th of July weekend - here's the good and the bad. Good: - Awesome location - the privacy on the beach was outstanding. - walkable to everything, and pretty clean and well kept. - the natural elements like the lagoon, awesome. And they even gave my kids duck food when we got there. - Barefoot Bar and Grill - outstanding food! Would highly recommend. - the paid activities (paddle board) were awesome - but it made for an expensive weekend. - Rooms were well kept and updated. Bad: - All the activities that were included for children filled up so early there was nothing available when we arrived. Really disappointed in that. - The bonfire needed to be done on your back porch, completely not how it was advertised. - the restaurants filled up so quickly. I had reservations at Tidal and didn't even get to sit down because of how unorganized they were. - Staff at tidal were rude and condescending - if you don't prepare for food and activities ahead of time, you'll need to leave. Kind of defeating the purpose. - Fireworks, while acknowledged that they were Sea Worlds are not viewable unless you leave the property. - a lot of hidden fees you don't see when you initially book your room. - Pools, while there were 5 of them, were not very well maintained and extremely dated. I had a decent time there because of the add ons I paid for, but I expected so much more from the money i paid and what they advertised. I feel like if they had a resort/hotel operator that emphasized the guest experience more this would be a premier place to visit. I really liked this place! Love the bungalows and personal parking (I had a discount for this so it wasn't bad), the rooms are spacious and well kept. The food delivery was great, the food was dropped off with a smile and it was quick. The hummus and veggies starter was very good and the pretzel was amazing. I'm still thinking about that pretzel. The pizza was pretty basic so I would go for something different next time. One thing to consider is the TV options, there were no streaming services available. I understand wanting guests to go out to enjoy the surrounding areas, but for people, like me, that were there for work- it would have been nice to be able to relax after with my favorite movie or show. Side note, the toilets in the room and in the meeting room areas were so close to the toilet roll holder. Even for a small person, it was hard to use and seemed like a design flaw. They upgraded us (for my son's birthday) to the Lanai Bayside which was right by the water. The room however did not meet expectations. There were huge spiders we found on the first night. The second day we woke to ants all over the room (bathroom, floor , and even in our beds!). Needless to say, we checked out right away. This is NOT what I imagined for our son's special day. Apparently this is an on-going problem, the staff mentioned the engineers are working on this issue. Again, I'm really disappointed and will not be coming back. read more

You can tell that Paradise Point has seen brighter days. Although slightly older and outdated, it holds the charm of a classic San Diego experience. I recently attended a fun alumni event at Paradise Point. The event was held in the evening overlooking the water and we got a beautiful view of the sunset! While we were there, there were many events taking place. They have a large events space, so it isn't uncommon to share the property with others. We were close to a wedding and I almost went to their bar, but was thankfully guided to our correct bar by some other event attendees. What stood out about my experience here was the food! All the catered food was so delicious. We had classic favorites like grilled cheese, burgers and fried chicken sliders, but they were elevated and so tasty! We also had a delicious taco bar. Beautiful property set in beautiful San Diego with gorgeous walkways with lush greenery and ponds and has a public beach area within hotel grounds. The resort is centrally located in San Diego with updated rooms. There are 3 restaurants and a coffee bar that opens daily from 7am-11am. Multiple pools give guests the choice to go to a family central pool, adult pools or a pool that is quieter. The only issue was before I put my stuff down in room the smell of the room was musty/smoky and manager said she would send someone to put in a dehumidifier and that I would have to leave the room for an hour. Nobody came and not sure if she just told me that because I was sitting outside watching but I just ran air and opened doors to let breezes in. Other than that issue we would definitely stay here again. Within the property you can rent bikes, for essentials go to the general store and go to spa so you don't really even need to leave Paradise! read more

There's a lot of good but a lot of bad... would we stay again... no. The parking and resort fees are outrageous. Add $100 per night from fees. And it's atrocious parking, incredibly tight, like only can open one door of your vehicle tight. Not exaggerating. Was just me on a company trip so I made it work. Was super annoying, as everything is a decent walk and I'm handicapped so needed to use my vehicle a lot. Hotel's fault, other car was in their space, it's the hotel that positioned the spots at angles against the hotel wall and huge plants and didn't measure well the space needed. Workers that witnessed my careful enter n exit agreed it was way too small a space. Thankfully I'm a decent driver, but still it was a challenge lol. Workers were ALL polite, some super great and others not so great but still polite. Grounds kept up decently, always carts going to n fro, pools and other amenities seemed clean. Unfortunately outside the hotel room was a very strong sewage smell. Overwhelming. We avoided time outside the room because of it. My hotel room was scent free thankfully. I'm super sensitive to mold and had zero issues. My colleagues all complained of a strong mold smell in their rooms but thankfully mine was smell free. There were fingernail clippings at the patio door on the inside and black curly hair on the chair and couch. I don't touch hotel furniture so I put a towel over it so I didn't have to see it and was fine. Bed was clean, I checked well lol. That's what mattered to me. I also wipe down everything including the remote n light switches... which were really really dirty. Like build up dirty. Shower n sink seemed clean, I still wear shower shoes n I have crocs I use for hotels. Good thing because colleagues said the floor made their feet black. Yikes. I never allow my feet to touch anything in a hotel. I'm extra I know but it made for a better stay. I, nor them slept well. Not sure why. Curtains do well at blocking out light and bed was huge (King) and wasn't noticeable uncomfortable. So can't fault hotel for that. I'd requested a room closest to a jacuzzi. They did place me in the closest one BUT the jacuzzi wasn't working! It hadn't been working yet that's where they placed me. Oh well. There was a small pool that was working, it was a decent temperature so I did enjoy my time in it. Towels were in good condition, not too thick, not too thin. Until a front desk worker told me it was closed! I'd swam in it. Only the jacuzzi was taped off, not the pool. I said, was it safe?! They got back to me that they think it was safe, just closed for maintenance. Well, no jacuzzi, no pool near my room. That changed my stay a lot but I still enjoyed time with colleagues and the workers at our business room breakfasts and dinners were fantastic. Colleagues said the barefoot restaurant was a bad Applebees, I avoided it per reviews. But the business meals outside at the point and inside in the business rooms were sincerely excellent! Top notch dining. Zero complaints. I wish I could review that part alone, all stars! Seriously great food, service, clean, stunning views! Bravo catering staff. The Spa experience was the worst we've experienced. I've had an exceptional experience at a stand alone and I've had shady at Catalina, this was far worse than the shady. The massage therapist paused hovering over me multiple times in the 50 min session, long 3-5 minute pauses. Not the massage the company paid for. Wasn't until colleagues spoke up did we realize she'd done this to all of us that had her and it's not how it was supposed to go. We felt worse leaving than we did coming. Took a week to recover from the pain caused. Completely avoid the spa. Look at my review on its Yelp page for more details. Old robes, sauna timer crusted n broken, long walk if you need help or locker malfunctions (and it will, all ours and those not with us experienced it, long walk outside spa to spa desk for help. One star, because in wouldn't choose to stay here again, and I wouldn't recommend it. Stinks because it offers great views and spectacular catering meals. So much potential, but spa and septic would need a complete overhaul. The blonde massage therapist at the spa needs a new profession. Not fair to pay for 50 mins for her to pause hovering over customers multiple times during each session. She said she was practicing her beliefs saying the long pauses was her drawing energy from the universe. That's not the massage we paid for. The impeccable catering was five stars but the massage was so bad and jacuzzi being closed etc it took this review down to 2. We didn't let these drawbacks affect our meetings nor our time together. We still enjoyed each other and showed our appreciation to the staff and left our rooms cleaner than we received it. read more

I absolutely love this hidden gem. I love the casitas. The staff was all so kind. I went there for a week long trip, Sunday to Sunday. They were always available. The location is prime. Not far from the airport or beaches. The paid parking is right in front of your casita door. Although they do have free parking very close to that area which I was not aware of when I booked so that was a plus and something that is good to know as I was debating driving or flying and getting a rental car. Needless to say from Phoenix I'm so glad I cancelled the flight and jumped into my car. The restaurant there has king crab side for I want to say $8 or $11. It is unreal. I loved all the food there. The bartender is Aaron. He is unbelievably wonderful at what he does. His drinks are perfection and his customer service to match. My only recommendations would be better pillows for a resort. I did ask for extra, but I was sold on the bed part. Not horrible, but would love to be at resort where I can brag about the sleeping experience. I will say the average person would say it's wonderful, I sleep on expensive pillows so most hotels don't match. Although a twin size bed at a cabin I stayed at was comfier. Other than that I highly recommend this resort. A perk for a plus would be having a couple steamers on hand for people in the rooms to use. Who uses irons anymore? :) read more

Aptly named, Paradise Point. I'm talking about the beach, not the resort. We didn't stay at the resort (although years ago I once did, long before Yelp!). On this occasion we were hanging out with some friends for the day on their boat. We motored up to the beach at Paradise Point and anchored in the sand. It is like a little cove. Calm waters, great beach. The resort backs up to it, with their bungalows facing the water, but it is a public beach. We set up our little spot with chairs and an umbrella and enjoyed sandwiches from the deli inside the Dana Landing Market and Fuel Dock we picked up on the way. We floated in the water for a while and just had a great day at the beach. There are a few city provided concrete firepits scattered around the beach. First come, first serve. There are also trash cans for your convenience - use them! read more

I was born and raised in San Diego and never had the experience of staying at Paradise Point, so we planned a staycation. This establishment is over 60 years old so I understand the potential of being run down. I would classify this resort as more of a 3 star hotel rating. Let's start with the exterior grounds. In general, there are some pleasant amenities: Fire pits are provided to have your own bonfire. The fire pits in the pool area are lit up in the evenings. The Island Market sells chopped wood and stuff to make s'mores (obviously cheaper offsite). The miniature golf, bicycle/aquatic rentals, large lily ponds, ducks, and observation tower (although closed for cleaning) are nice features. However, the exterior of the bungalows, landscaping, and some garden areas are totally run down and visibly lack ground maintenance. The cost of parking is absolutely hideous. It's free from 6AM - 10PM but the resort charges $45 a NIGHT!! So $45 for 8 hours. And let me tell you each bungalow has their own parking spot and there are huge parking lots located on the resort with PLENTY of parking. To charge $45 a night is obscene. Now for the interior of the bungalows. I should preface we had a Bayside Junior Suite that was $500/night. When you first enter the bungalow, it looks like a nice space. Then it falls short after you start walking around and using stuff. The TV wasn't working, so we had to call maintenance. Luckily Jeremiah came quickly and fixed it right away. BTW, you can't just press a button and call the front desk. It takes you through a whole automated system and then you end up talking to a robot. The body wash in the shower was empty (see video), so we had to use shampoo for body soap. Trust the other reviewers when they said there's spiders: I saw at least four spiders in our bungalow. Bring a sleep mask: our bed was located right next to the entry door and the light was shining so bright from the porch light (you cannot turn it off) that we had to concoct our own curtain (with a towel) to keep the light from coming in. Just FYI the ice machine is located at the pool. The kitchenette was nice with a microwave and frig, but there were no drinking glasses, just Styrofoam cups for the coffee maker. Why have an ice machine but no glasses? The interior repairs & upkeep could definitely use some finesse. They really need to invest in a handyman with better skills (see photos). It may seem like nitpicking, but when you're paying $500 a night for a 4-star bungalow, there shouldn't be this many issues. I think it's safe to say this will be our last stay. read more

My boyfriend and I came to spend a few days here and although the room was beautiful. bed very comfy, and everything immaculate as far as cleanliness goes. I will say we were disappointed in the outdated tv set up. We didn't have the ability to stream anything or even mirror our phones to watch a movie. They provided a mini fridge, but no microwave. & then we only had 3 pillows. The outside patio area is very nice but really dusty & there was a footprint on our ceiling. How it got there? I'm sure we both don't know. The location is gorgeous tho! Quick check in, and service when requested. The views are unmatched & we get our own assigned parking next to our bungalow which is very nice. read more
