Where do i begin. The room had black bugs and a lot!! Baby roaches aka water bugs. The out door furniture was sandy and dirty. We went to the pool. It was nice but the drinks and food had an additional 20% tax!!! Apart from an expensive week stay with roaches and now 20% tax!! After we talked to the front desk they couldn't come with us to send us to another location. The only other location they had was the presidential suite and they couldn't give this to us so they were fully booked. At that moment, I said OK go ahead and just cancel my reservation. They went ahead and said OK. We canceled it and make sure I got all my money back and we went to the. Bahia. Now that place is near the amusement park and bike riding. No 20% increase in tax there. Additionally I requested connecting rooms, which they did not give me and at the time of booking they stated it was available. The bartender at the bar and grill was rude. Beautiful property set in beautiful San Diego with gorgeous walkways with lush greenery and ponds and has a public beach area within hotel grounds. The resort is centrally located in San Diego with updated rooms. There are 3 restaurants and a coffee bar that opens daily from 7am-11am. Multiple pools give guests the choice to go to a family central pool, adult pools or a pool that is quieter. The only issue was before I put my stuff down in room the smell of the room was musty/smoky and manager said she would send someone to put in a dehumidifier and that I would have to leave the room for an hour. Nobody came and not sure if she just told me that because I was sitting outside watching but I just ran air and opened doors to let breezes in. Other than that issue we would definitely stay here again. There's a lot of good but a lot of bad... would we stay again... no. The parking and resort fees are outrageous. Add $100 per night from fees. And it's atrocious parking, incredibly tight, like only can open one door of your vehicle tight. Not exaggerating. Was just me on a company trip so I made it work. Was super annoying, as everything is a decent walk and I'm handicapped so needed to use my vehicle a lot. Hotel's fault, other car was in their space, it's the hotel that positioned the spots at angles against the hotel wall and huge plants and didn't measure well the space needed. Workers that witnessed my careful enter n exit agreed it was way too small a space. Thankfully I'm a decent driver, but still it was a challenge lol. Workers were ALL polite, some super great and others not so great but still polite. Grounds kept up decently, always carts going to n fro, pools and other amenities seemed clean. Unfortunately outside the hotel room was a very strong sewage smell. Overwhelming. We avoided time outside the room because of it. My hotel room was scent free thankfully. I'm super sensitive to mold and had zero issues. My colleagues all complained of a strong mold smell in their rooms but thankfully mine was smell free. There were fingernail clippings at the patio door on the inside and black curly hair on the chair and couch. I don't touch hotel furniture so I put a towel over it so I didn't have to see it and was fine. Bed was clean, I checked well lol. That's what mattered to me. I also wipe down everything including the remote n light switches... which were really really dirty. Like build up dirty. Shower n sink seemed clean, I still wear shower shoes n I have crocs I use for hotels. Good thing because colleagues said the floor made their feet black. Yikes. I never allow my feet to touch anything in a hotel. I'm extra I know but it made for a better stay. I, nor them slept well. Not sure why. Curtains do well at blocking out light and bed was huge (King) and wasn't noticeable uncomfortable. So can't fault hotel for that. I'd requested a room closest to a jacuzzi. They did place me in the closest one BUT the jacuzzi wasn't working! It hadn't been working yet that's where they placed me. Oh well. There was a small pool that was working, it was a decent temperature so I did enjoy my time in it. Towels were in good condition, not too thick, not too thin. Until a front desk worker told me it was closed! I'd swam in it. Only the jacuzzi was taped off, not the pool. I said, was it safe?! They got back to me that they think it was safe, just closed for maintenance. Well, no jacuzzi, no pool near my room. That changed my stay a lot but I still enjoyed time with colleagues and the workers at our business room breakfasts and dinners were fantastic. Colleagues said the barefoot restaurant was a bad Applebees, I avoided it per reviews. But the business meals outside at the point and inside in the business rooms were sincerely excellent! Top notch dining. Zero complaints. I wish I could review that part alone, all stars! Seriously great food, service, clean, stunning views! Bravo catering staff. The Spa experience was the worst we've experienced. I've had an exceptional experience at a stand alone and I've had shady at Catalina, this was far worse than the shady. The massage therapist paused hovering over me multiple times in the 50 min session, long 3-5 minute pauses. Not the massage the company paid for. Wasn't until colleagues spoke up did we realize she'd done this to all of us that had her and it's not how it was supposed to go. We felt worse leaving than we did coming. Took a week to recover from the pain caused. Completely avoid the spa. Look at my review on its Yelp page for more details. Old robes, sauna timer crusted n broken, long walk if you need help or locker malfunctions (and it will, all ours and those not with us experienced it, long walk outside spa to spa desk for help. One star, because in wouldn't choose to stay here again, and I wouldn't recommend it. Stinks because it offers great views and spectacular catering meals. So much potential, but spa and septic would need a complete overhaul. The blonde massage therapist at the spa needs a new profession. Not fair to pay for 50 mins for her to pause hovering over customers multiple times during each session. She said she was practicing her beliefs saying the long pauses was her drawing energy from the universe. That's not the massage we paid for. The impeccable catering was five stars but the massage was so bad and jacuzzi being closed etc it took this review down to 2. We didn't let these drawbacks affect our meetings nor our time together. I absolutely love this hidden gem. I love the casitas. The staff was all so kind. I went there for a week long trip, Sunday to Sunday. They were always available. The location is prime. Not far from the airport or beaches. The paid parking is right in front of your casita door. Although they do have free parking very close to that area which I was not aware of when I booked so that was a plus and something that is good to know as I was debating driving or flying and getting a rental car. Needless to say from Phoenix I'm so glad I cancelled the flight and jumped into my car. The restaurant there has king crab side for I want to say $8 or $11. It is unreal. I loved all the food there. The bartender is Aaron. He is unbelievably wonderful at what he does. His drinks are perfection and his customer service to match. My only recommendations would be better pillows for a resort. I did ask for extra, but I was sold on the bed part. Not horrible, but would love to be at resort where I can brag about the sleeping experience. I will say the average person would say it's wonderful, I sleep on expensive pillows so most hotels don't match. Although a twin size bed at a cabin I stayed at was comfier. This property charges like a four- or five-star hotel, but the experience doesn't come close. The room conditions were unacceptable. The coffee maker did not work, the refrigerator was rusted, and the bathtub was extremely small and not clean. These are basic expectations that simply were not met. The on-site menu is priced like a luxury hotel, with items such as $12 oatmeal, $20 bagels with salmon, and $18 breakfast sandwiches. There is nothing about the property or overall experience that justifies those prices. Noise and management are also a problem. At 9:30 on a Saturday morning, there were 20 to 30 people in the room next door playing loud music and carrying on, with no intervention or enforcement from staff. Access and layout make things worse. The roads are essentially one-lane and not suitable for walking, especially for older guests or anyone with mobility concerns. Parking is extremely limited, tight, and poorly managed. Even at check-in, there is no designated area, so cars stack up at the entrance, immediately creating congestion. That was the first sign of how disorganized the property is. Overall, this place is significantly overpriced for what it offers. Aptly named, Paradise Point. I'm talking about the beach, not the resort. We didn't stay at the resort (although years ago I once did, long before Yelp!). On this occasion we were hanging out with some friends for the day on their boat. We motored up to the beach at Paradise Point and anchored in the sand. It is like a little cove. Calm waters, great beach. The resort backs up to it, with their bungalows facing the water, but it is a public beach. We set up our little spot with chairs and an umbrella and enjoyed sandwiches from the deli inside the Dana Landing Market and Fuel Dock we picked up on the way. We floated in the water for a while and just had a great day at the beach. There are a few city provided concrete firepits scattered around the beach. First come, first serve. I was born and raised in San Diego and never had the experience of staying at Paradise Point, so we planned a staycation. This establishment is over 60 years old so I understand the potential of being run down. I would classify this resort as more of a 3 star hotel rating. Let's start with the exterior grounds. In general, there are some pleasant amenities: Fire pits are provided to have your own bonfire. The fire pits in the pool area are lit up in the evenings. The Island Market sells chopped wood and stuff to make s'mores (obviously cheaper offsite). The miniature golf, bicycle/aquatic rentals, large lily ponds, ducks, and observation tower (although closed for cleaning) are nice features. However, the exterior of the bungalows, landscaping, and some garden areas are totally run down and visibly lack ground maintenance. The cost of parking is absolutely hideous. It's free from 6AM - 10PM but the resort charges $45 a NIGHT!! So $45 for 8 hours. And let me tell you each bungalow has their own parking spot and there are huge parking lots located on the resort with PLENTY of parking. To charge $45 a night is obscene. Now for the interior of the bungalows. I should preface we had a Bayside Junior Suite that was $500/night. When you first enter the bungalow, it looks like a nice space. Then it falls short after you start walking around and using stuff. The TV wasn't working, so we had to call maintenance. Luckily Jeremiah came quickly and fixed it right away. BTW, you can't just press a button and call the front desk. It takes you through a whole automated system and then you end up talking to a robot. The body wash in the shower was empty (see video), so we had to use shampoo for body soap. Trust the other reviewers when they said there's spiders: I saw at least four spiders in our bungalow. Bring a sleep mask: our bed was located right next to the entry door and the light was shining so bright from the porch light (you cannot turn it off) that we had to concoct our own curtain (with a towel) to keep the light from coming in. Just FYI the ice machine is located at the pool. The kitchenette was nice with a microwave and frig, but there were no drinking glasses, just Styrofoam cups for the coffee maker. Why have an ice machine but no glasses? The interior repairs & upkeep could definitely use some finesse. They really need to invest in a handyman with better skills (see photos). It may seem like nitpicking, but when you're paying $500 a night for a 4-star bungalow, there shouldn't be this many issues. I think it's safe to say this will be our last stay. read more

The grounds here are beautiful with plenty of amenities! The service was top notch and they go out of their way to make sure your stay is going well! I liked the fire pits on the water and the mini golf course. There were several pools you could go to as well! The showers here were also great, good pressure with hot water. My boyfriend and I came to spend a few days here and although the room was beautiful. bed very comfy, and everything immaculate as far as cleanliness goes. I will say we were disappointed in the outdated tv set up. We didn't have the ability to stream anything or even mirror our phones to watch a movie. They provided a mini fridge, but no microwave. & then we only had 3 pillows. The outside patio area is very nice but really dusty & there was a footprint on our ceiling. How it got there? I'm sure we both don't know. The location is gorgeous tho! Quick check in, and service when requested. I really liked this place! Love the bungalows and personal parking (I had a discount for this so it wasn't bad), the rooms are spacious and well kept. The food delivery was great, the food was dropped off with a smile and it was quick. The hummus and veggies starter was very good and the pretzel was amazing. I'm still thinking about that pretzel. The pizza was pretty basic so I would go for something different next time. One thing to consider is the TV options, there were no streaming services available. I understand wanting guests to go out to enjoy the surrounding areas, but for people, like me, that were there for work- it would have been nice to be able to relax after with my favorite movie or show. Side note, the toilets in the room and in the meeting room areas were so close to the toilet roll holder. Even for a small person, it was hard to use and seemed like a design flaw. I think 3 stars is a very fair rating. This is going to be long, but legit. Checked in on a Friday, Blez helped us check in. She's a 5 star keeper, happy, friendly, and super efficient, which was amazing because the check in line went out the door. Our room, 520 was very clean (props to housekeeping) and perfect for our family. It smelled a little musty, but opening the front and back door for an hour or so helped. On the surface, the room looks worth the $400 per night, but a closer look shows things are dated. Parking was a disaster. The spots are very small, and our first neighbor had a large truck. We had to squeeze in with our door narrowly missing a boulder. If one person parks wonky, it messes up the whole parking situation. The good news is, if you don't mind walking, you can park in the public lot. We went to the gym, which was posted no one under 16 allowed, only to have a huge throng of preteen boys swarm in. There were also roving groups of boys on electric bicycles cruising the property, riding down the middle of the street, blocking traffic. Kids being kids with a small amount of entitlement thrown in. In the bar, we were waited on by Mike. He was also a 5 star bartender. Great suggestions on food and drinks, and even answered some questions about local businesses. Our intention was to kayak all weekend, but the water had a high bacteria advisory. This is where the resort was worth every penny. We did mini golf twice, lawn checkers, the scavenger hunt, wandered the paths, no one was bored. Finally, my daughter who was here on vacation, lost her purse. After checking out, we called several times, because we thought we may have left it in the room. Hours later, no one called back, so we drove back down. Sure enough, they had it, nothing was missing, it had been left in the room. Again, I have to shout out to housekeeping for turning it in. Highs and lows, but it wasn't the worst place we've ever been. read more

Came here for a birthday booked 2 rooms. Couldn't wait to leave checked out early on both rooms. It is a very run down resort with terrible upkeep in furniture/appliances. Manager Angelina emailed back and "seemed" like she wanted to help but she had a redline of doing credits to make things right(she didn't). Very disappointed how a place that meant so much to my family has turned really bad. I would not recommend to stay here. They have "rules" of quiet time after 1030pm but we had lovely neighbors in our row of rooms screaming,singing,yelling until 230am by the fire pit. read more

Small dataset but I just can't help myself... I do have a comparable (aka, the nearby, across the bay, Bahia Resort) and I'm basing this on that ... First off, when you're here, it feels like a tropical paradise. Bungalows right next to the water, foliage everywhere and beautiful sunsets. Lots of extracurricular activities available (for a price) and nice eating / drinking establishments. Bungalows come with small patios and the adjacent beach has numerous fire pits available, you just have to reserve one early. Rooms are nicely appointed, some apparently more so than others so look into accommodations prior to booking to ensure you get what you want... If, (and it's a huge if), I had a negative vs Bahia, it's that you can't walk right over to the beach / Belmont Park area. That said, the serenity that Paradise Point offers is well worth it. Plus, the beaches here aren't as public so the chaos is virtually nonexistent. Will definitely be back. In fact, already looking into a summertime multiple , adjacent bungalow booking with the entire fam for this summer!!! 10 min drive to Old Town and a few extra to the Seaport / Gaslamp area. read more

Check in is 4pm and check out is 11am. I had called two weeks prior to make sure that we had an early check-in request and a late checkout request. Then I called day of to request the same thing. Our rooms were not ready until 4:30 PM and we were given an 11:30 "late" checkout 17 hours to stay at a resort. The amenities were fine (room was musty) but come on- 17 hours total? After calling? I had two very tired kiddos and a 4pm checkout is so late for a hotel as it is. Nothing was done to make us feel welcome or to say sorry about the inconvenience. we have come here every year for 4 years and this last time will Probably be our last. We ended up Paying 1600$ for two nights to get a mediocre hotel sadly. This place used to be BOOMING with animals, this time we saw 4 injured ducks, 2 dead giant fish. Zero alive fish and 3 turtles total. It used to be my kids highlight was all the wildlife to see. The water could barely be seen through so maybe they just need a clean idk we have neve experienced this there before made me sad! Next the breakfast little spot was " not open" only a full restaurant and coffee. The people Who used to work at the coffee shop were so nice- not this trip, just less than friendly. Pool was always out of towels/ food left around poool areas. We sadly stayed next to people that had a dog that did not stop barking ( not hotels fault, and they removed my resort fees ) but still beware the walls are very very thin so anything your neighbors do you will hear every little bit of it. The room we stayed in was old and in desperate need of repairs. I called the hotel directly to make the reservation, for a "deluxe" garden lanai room. For the price we paid I was sorely disappointed. They charge for parking even though there are assigned spaces for each unit. We had dinner at the Barefoot Grill our first night there. The food was okay but extremely overpriced for what it was. When we returned to the room the second day there were cleaning rags left laying on the sink and floor. Pros: Really nice, suites are spacious, great location, quiet and peaceful Cons: No screens on windows, so you can't enjoy fresh air, unless you're not afraid of bugs, no microwaves in suites (although I heard that you're not supposed to bring outside food in, so maybe that's why). Overall experience was great, also great for children, parking is a bit pricey, but right outside your suite, so very convenient. Looking forward to coming back in the summer. read more

Stayed for a night. We live about an hour away and are very familiar with San Diego. Used some credit card points to book a room. We checked in and our room smelled terrible. Moldy/mildew. Not sure. We let it roll for a bit and went out and got food by the pool. Decent food, friendly staff. Then couldn't deal with the smell and they offered to switch rooms. New room was 100 times better. Although we couldn't find our room or parking space. Everything was dark and poorly marked. The property was likely beautiful once upon a time but it is very tired. It felt 60 years old. Breakfast at Barefoot was really good. Spotty service. Certainly room for improvement in many areas but with the property being so huge, it's no wonder they haven't done a massive remodel. read more

The grounds of this resort are beautiful! So many plants, the lighting at night is gorgeous. It feels safe to walk around and enjoy the various places to eat, swim, walk etc. We had daily housekeeping which was not promised but I think it was less busy the week we were there. Room was clean but could have used a couple of cosmetic upgrades like new caulk in the shower. It wasn't a huge deal, just something I noticed. If they did not include these hidden charges, would they be inhospitable and serve rancid food? There are two showers in the men's locker room. One has no hot water, the other has a plugged drain. I told the three ladies at the front desk, Rebecca Pearson and two others. Nothing was done in the three days that we were there. They were not even interested in hearing about it. Lost and Found is interesting. They tell you to log into a website and file a report. Can't you just look in the closet and see if it was turned in? We have stayed tere for many years through many name changes. It is a great place. I fear that the current management is ruining it. Our room was INFESTED WITH DEAD BABY COCKROACHES!!!! Literally from the bathroom all around the beds in in our bed sheets!! My family was beyond disgusted as we didn't realize how bad it was until the day time when there was more light going into the room. The first cleaning last who came in to change the sheets didn't seem to be phased by it and just gave us new covers. It lead us to believe that this was common for them. We ended up getting a room change and some credit back but even the second room we were placed in had dirty towels with sticky stains and hair on it. This resort has been around for a while and the interior of our room showed the age. Our last visit was about 15 years ago and the "feel" was similar to then. The room was surface clean but in need of a deep cleaning. Dust on the back of the bathroom door, grout discolored, a shoe print on the ceiling, paint pealing on a wall, light switches inoperable...lots of TLC needed. We were not asked nor offered maid service for our two day stay and none was provided. The beds were comfortable, large TV, charging ports available, and basics like fridge and coffee maker are provided. Our breakfast bought at a coffee cart in one of the cafes was mediocre with one of the muffins stale. At least staff was friendly. The grounds are beautiful and it does have the "resort" feel when walking around. The pools are well maintained, other services available including a spa and nice gym. Overall, we were disappointed in value of the stay for fees charged. You're paying for the views... read more

I made a reservation at this resort because I stayed there years ago and fell in love with the resort. I had made a reservation a few months back trying to get back and have the same wonderful experience, but I had to cancel my reservation to get to my son whose lung collapsed on his job. This time I was taking my youngest son to Delmar because he was going to a USC send off for new students attending the college. I was told at the last minute that they had an opening for us to go to an event in Palos Verdes which is 3 miles from my house. The first thing I thought was how could I still go to Paradise Point? It just didn't work with or make since for me to go for a day to San Diego to rush back to Palos Verdes to get to the event. The event was the whole reason I booked the Paradise Point in the first. I was going to stay for two days so we could enjoy the resort . Well I booked through Jet Blue and they sent an email to Paradise Point with no response. Then they called Paradise Point and spoke to Rebecca the property manager. They told her the situation and it was totally up to her to refund me or not. I was told she wasn't having it and flat out refused. I just got done telling my physical therapist yesterday how excited I was to go back and how nice the resort was. Well the resort took half of the 874.00 dollars, and I hope that does them a lot of good because they just lost a customer who would have stayed there twice in less than 6 months and who was singing their praises just yesterday. Now I plan to let everyone know how management is on Yelp, Google, Facebook, and any other social media I find. When I went on Yelp I saw that the resort only has 3 stars out of the 607 reviews they have, so I said well that it explains it. It sounds like it's fallen off from the last time I came and I'm better off. Everything happens for a reason. I just avoid a possible bad experience. read more

Stayed at Paradise Point a few nights. Here are my pros and cons... Cons- the lady at the check in counter when I went to check in was very matter of fact and not real friendly. I walked up and said "hi how are you?" Her response was "name, drivers license and credit card". Our room was not ready and she didn't tell me about anything at the hotel of where we could go while we waited for 2.5 hours. I was told I would get a text when the room was ready and I never did. - the bar at the main pool closes at 5pm so if you want to watch the kids and enjoy a drink better go early. That is the only pool that has alcohol and music. - Tidal was never open while I stayed for 3 days. - freezer in the fridge leaked the entire time in the room so we had to clean water up every time we opened the mini fridge. - with all the other reviews yes wear shoes around the hotel room your feet will get super dirty within minutes. -when I called the instant response on the hotel phone I was put on hold for 25 minutes. Put it in speaker and watched a show with the kids as I was holding for more towels. Pros- the room was clean and spacious for 4 people. It had a little table, couple of chairs, 2 queen beds, bathroom etc. - The room had close access to a beautiful beach and was across one of the small pools. - the kids enjoyed feeding the ducks in the pond. - all the staff around the pool and people driving around were very helpful and would bring towels etc. when asked. - lots of pools for the kids to swim in and they stayed open to 10pm. They have bonfire pits at some of the pools but you have to reserve them really early before you go they get booked fast. -you can order food from anywhere at the resort and they will bring it to you. It is expensive but the food was good and it came within 18 minutes. Overall the stay was nice and the kids had a good time. It is very expensive so if you are planning on going just know you have a resort fee per day, parking fee per day and anything you buy at the resort is expensive. Suggestions for anyone going; take a microwave, toaster, beach chairs and fishing poles if you like to fish. Very pretty resort and lots to do to keep the kids busy. read more

This property is better described as a 3-star resort and spa, not the luxury experience it's marketed to be. Room Service & Front Desk Room service usually came very early in the morning when we were still asleep. When we actually requested it later in the day, the front desk would assure us it was "all set up," but nothing ever arrived. This happened repeatedly during our 3-day stay, forcing me to pick up items myself each time. At checkout, I brought this up and was refunded $50 for amenities, but the inconvenience really stood out. When I asked about the possibility of a late checkout (even offering to pay for it), Lori at the front desk cut me off and very bluntly said, "absolutely not, our boss said we're not allowed to provide late checkouts. You're lucky you're getting 30 more minutes." The lack of courtesy in that response summed up much of the service experience. Cleanliness & Comfort The sofas were stained, which shows that cleanliness and upkeep need serious attention. The king bed was one of the most uncomfortable I've ever slept on--you could literally feel the metal through the mattress. When I raised this issue, the front desk only offered a comforter, which did not solve the problem. The rooms are also very outdated and lack basic features like blackout curtains. Service & Atmosphere While a few staff members were genuinely kind and professional, the majority came across as condescending and seemed unhappy to be working in hospitality. This made the overall service feel inconsistent and unwelcoming. Positives The main highlight is the beachfront location, which is undeniably beautiful, and a handful of staff who do provide great service. Final Thoughts For the price (around $3,000+), the experience simply does not match expectations. We rented a beach front cabana to use as an after event gathering for a Celebration of Life ceremony and this experience left me wishing I was the one who died. I believe it's import a to note that the people joining us were also renting rooms at this same hotel. As a Titanium Life Elite Marriott member and a global traveler, the nicest thing I can say about the cabanas is that they are disgusting and dated. Chipped and peeling paint, dirt around the microwave, sink, and garbage area, layers of dust on the baseboards, and mold in many places. Ripped and stained furniture, cobwebs, unclean glass,visible rust, and chipped paint were commonplace. To make matters worse there was a large chunk of glass in the middle of the living room floor when we entered. Marks on the ceilings and walls and a generally musty smell in the room only added insult to injury. Our unit was dated, the couch was stained, and it was underwhelming for the cost. I can only imagine what we would have found if we actually made an effort to look for issues. Believe it or not, that's not the worst part of our experience. During our stay, many beach front cabanas were being used for private parties where one or two people rented the cabana and then droves of outsiders came and dropped off grills, pets, tables, outside food, boom boxes, vaping devices, cigarettes, pets and children. They used the actual hotel property and not the public beach. These people destroyed the general atmosphere as their party goers, noise, smoke and animals invaded our space. We paid almost a thousand dollars for two people per night, rented a fire pit from the hotel, and invited other paying hotel guests to join us at our fire pit (one of the very few things this hotel actually got right). We also spent over $3,000 on food and beverages with our group and obeyed all hotel policies. Additionally, we all paid daily resort fees, parking fees, and room fees, which none of these freeloaders paid. We also respected our neighbors and the hotel property, things these freeloaders could care less about. To witness the behavior of how these cabanas are being allowed to operate should be a crime (and probably is under fire safety, sales tax, and trespassing and insurance laws). The other insane issues at this facility is that the beach in front of the "secluded cabana units" as referenced on the hotel website is NOT secluded in any way shape or form. The hotel has no control over the beach in from of these beachfront cabanas, so literally anyone can (and does) stand, exercise, or camp 15 feet from you front door, while they play loud music, smoke and pretty much do whatever they want. Add in the total lack of service at the pool by clueless waitstaff, and you have a place that has no right to call itself a luxury resort. While the grounds are indeed beautiful, the overall experience we had seems to make this a great choice for people trying to cheat the system, Gypsies, and indigents. It's sad that such a lovely site is so poorly managed and operated. Someone should really be focusing on protecting the experience for PAYING customers and putting some truth into the advertising materials. If I knew what we were going to be exposed to, we would have simply stayed elsewhere where the environment is properly controlled and managed. To be fair, the front desk team was helpful and professional on many levels, and the service, quality of food, and general experiences in the restaurants were very good. While they ultimately sent security to squash the party, such parties should never even be allowed to start to begin with. These seem to be commonplace so they are not a surprise. We had to call and complain about "gangster rap" full of explicates and being played at a ridiculously high level earlier in the day as well. I'm not judging what people listen to as long as I don't have to listen to it. This has literally been the absolute worst hotel experience I've ever had. If you seek cleanliness, decency, class, or any semblance of luxury, I suggest you steer clear of this hotel. What an unfortunate waste of a beautiful island. read more
