Despite my freaking out during hundreds of gallons of water spraying all over my garaged vehicles & stored items, Jim was cool and gave great advice to mitigate the damage until he could get out. We were Paradise Water customers for many years. But apparently the company was sold to the current owner, a guy named Jim. We had just purchased a new house, so we called to have new softener and RO systems installed. I was out working when Jim showed up. My wife called me because she said he was acting like he was angry and ominous and she felt threatened. So I asked her to put him on the phone while I had my buddy call the police. I asked Jim if something had happened that he found offensive or that made him upset. Instead of answering my sincere question, he said "do you want these f**king things installed or not?". I told him to leave my property immediately and that the police were on the way. My wife said he threw her phone onto the driveway, got in his truck and left. The phone was cracked but at least my wife was safe. We were fortunate to have Rayne Water come and handle the job. People were great and the systems have been awesome. Great follow up service too. My wife is still getting counseling though. I wish we had never met Jim. read more

He just completed our annual RO service and as always he was on time, neat and professional. The website for this business lists three separate phone numbers (all answered by same person) and no business address. Confused customers created three separate listings in Google maps, each with different average customer ratings. Owner was rude and insulting to me when contacted about the multiple listings for the same business. Owner ridiculed me about my diligence in researching the different water treatment service providers in the area. Owner made fun of me when I stated that I take the time to write reviews to help good people find other good people. Owner mocked me, asking sarcastically if I worked for Google, when I suggested merging the duplicate listings for his business. Owner seems to have no sense of customer service, no concern for earning trust of potential customers, no consideration for defending ourselves from the those disreputable service contractors that prey on us. read more

My parents and I have used Paradise Water Systems over the past 9-10 years. I have gone through a lot in the past 3 years and finally was able to get around to a "routine" service check. Last week's visit was right in the middle of my son registering for his classes at a University in Missouri, I apologized for being a bit sidetracked and stated, "Sorry, my son is registering for school, he is an athlete, and they need to make concessions for his classes." All I meant was if due to his schedule he could not take a particular class this semester he could take it at a later date. Jim, the owner of the company, immediately said, "Well, isn't his education the most important, why should athletes have concessions?" He was quite snide. Next he informed me the tank in my pantry needed to be replaced because it had "gone bad." Mind you I have never had a leak or any issues with the tank that simply feeds to my fridge. I asked, "What makes a tank that sits untouched go bad?" He said, "Not having it serviced in 3 years!" I was appalled. He was so condescending and rude. So I immediately said, "I'm sorry I battled cancer in the time since you were last here." I should not have to justify my actions. My next issue is the payment method. I had to retrieve my checkbook, which I never use, earlier in the day to be sure to be able to pay him. I had set it down and when he was done I could not remember where I had placed it. I was looking all around. He was quite frustrated and said, "You'll have to send it to me because if I wait I will be late for my next appointment." "Put it in the mail as soon as you can." Mind you he was 4 minutes late to my 2 hour window appointment! So then I had an unexpected personal tragedy this week and when I wrote the check I just went off my memory and wrote a check for $212.00. Jim just called and was once again unprofessional and rude. He told me he had just received my check and had the audacity to say, "You shorted me!" I asked, "What?" He then informed me I owed him $2.00. I tried to assure him I had not done it intentionally and had been helping a friend deal with the death of a spouse. He told me, "Well you'll have to write me another check and get me my $2.00!" I hope he chokes on his $2.00. Obviously by the looks of these other reviews he is desperate! I immediately called my dad and told him to be sure to quit using his service and any and all other people he has previously referred. Jim is a tool. Get with the times, accept debit/credit cards! He is obviously desperate for money or just too frugal to pay the 3% to the credit card company. I hope he finds himself on the receiving end of his extremely and utterly inept customer service so he can see how it feels. What a waste of my time and money on a no personality ignorant human being. Good riddance!!!! read more

I recently purchased a new house and it already had a reverse osmosis water system. It was not working properly and I started researching RO service companies and decided to call the original company that installed the system. There was a sticker on the system for Paradise Water Systems. Jim answer my call on the second ring, listened to my problem, let me know some background and possible options. He knew the history of the unit (It was installed over a decade ago) and allowed me make a decision on how to get the system working again. I decided on a new unit and he professionally installed it and it worked perfectly at the time we set up. We once again had delicious drinkable water in the house! I also had an issue with my water softener and I asked Jim if he could take a look. Jim diagnosed and fixed the problem while he was there even though it was not why he was originally contacted. Never again. Just don't understand the customer service here. I guess the owner, Jim, just doesn't know how to be friendly or a good business man. We've spent close to $1,600 for a water softener and reverse osmosis system. Our RO system was making quite a bit of noise since it was installed so we called him to check it out. He came out for 5 min, did a test and said it's fine. He proceeded to write up a $69 service charge. I told him to beat it. He also called me 6x in a row until I picked up (while I was at work) because he wanted to confirm our appointment but my mailbox was full. Very strange business and person all around. There's a lot of other businesses out there that can install water system AND be friendly...and won't nickel and dime you. read more

I've used Paradise Water Systems for around the past 10 years. At first, it was a good company. A live person answered the phone, got my appointment when needed and the technicians that came out were professional, friendly and did a great job. That has changed over the past few years. It seems like the owner, Jim Jones, got rid of everyone that worked for him (he has no real office, he works out of his garage) and runs the whole show himself now. For someone owning his own business and being a customer service industry, Jim Jones has absolutely NO customer service skills whatsoever. He is rude, unpleasant and now I know, dishonest. We had our reverse osmosis serviced through him January 2017. At that appointment, he told my husband that we need a bunch of items replaced and with the yearly service and trip charge, the amount would be $289. Relying on what Mr. Jones said, we did the service. Two months later in March 2017, one of the filters on our system started leaking. I called to schedule an appointment and was told there would be a charge. I told Mr. Jones that he had just replaced a bunch of stuff not even 2 months ago and in a very nasty rude voice he told me that he didn't remember and that if it was something different he would have to charge us. I made the appointment because we needed it fixed. He came out and to the tune of $119 fixed the leak (this included his $69 service charge which I feel should have been waived if he was there 2 months prior). We paid Paradise Water Systems and Jim Jones $408 in two months for repairs to our reverse osmosis system which was 14 years old, and could have bought a whole new system for around $289-354. I was shocked when I started looking for a new company to repair our system that we could get a new one for less than what he charged us for repairs. I feel he should have told us that and he didn't because like I mentioned above, he was dishonest and just took us to the cleaners. DO NOT use this company. read more

Paradise ain't what it used to be. Jim is the owner and possibly the only tech as well. If you want to use the service, make sure you ask for all quotes in writing. Jim appears to be keen on customers offering him exact use of language as well, rather than attempt to promote a synergistic conversation. And, if you are given a window for service, know up front that this is only for the arrival time and that being 10 minutes outside of that window is perfectly fine. Finally, no credit or debit cards allowed, though you won't be told this until you get the bill. Does he know his stuff? I'm sure he does. That's the only reason I'm giving two stars. Regardless of my high marks, I will not be using this service again. read more

A great company! I also like that the owner-operator is very hands on, calls to confirm appointments and is very responsive to calls and requests.
