Mike and his crew arrived on time and made the stress of moving a surprisingly enjoyable experience through their good humor. They worked the entire time and kept constant communication with us. A ramp was placed in front of our old home to ease the move and bypass a flight of outdoor stairs, and our furniture was strapped securely in their truck. The day after a significant rain storm they arrived on 8/23 with no plans to cover the beige carpets in both houses with a protective surface. The foreman said "the rugs are kind of stained already" (inappropriate and not his place to say this) and suggested I pick up paper at Home Depot To cover the rug. The other foreman agreed to purchase it. They added this to my bill. I thought it was customary for movers to cover rugs so they don't get dirty. The worst part was at the end of the move I passed my bedroom and saw a lump on my 1 year old king sized mattress. When I asked about it, the foreman explained "it collapsed when we lifted it up, I've never seen anything like it". I asked why he did not immediately stop working with the mattress and call me over. He said I was not in the home. He should have called me immediately to come look at it. This would have resolved them of responsibility. Instead they folded the mattress in half like a single bread sandwich, put plastic wrap tightly around it, delivered it to my home and placed it on the floor in that condition without once advising me of the problem. I was left with a huge lump in the middle, the bed was unusable and I had the burden of physically removing it and the expense of buying another. They refused to accept responsibility for the destruction of my new mattress which occurred while in their care, they credited $250 off the bill for an $1100 mattress. I paid the move in cash so the $250 could have been part of the discount typically given when paying in cash. Their lack of immediate communication about the problem, refusal to accept responsibility and refusal to properly compensate us with a reasonable amount of money (after I wrote a letter to the company requesting a reasonable compensation) makes doing business with them "at your own risk" read more

My husband and I are both dentists so we are very particular. We were referred to Paramus Moving by a friend (who told us the company is awesome). I was very impressed and it is difficult to impress me! Gene gave an estimate which was very fair and reasonable. His crew was excellent. Mike and Andrew and his crew went above and beyond moving our things from one house to the next. They packed everything and unpacked everything into new house without damaging a thing. Mike and Andrew also were awesome at arranging furniture into new house. All the crew were nice and friendly and really professional. I was trying to help them out and they told me sit and relax and that they would take care of everything and they did! I can tell you that Mike from Paramus Moving is an expert at packing furniture and packing the moving truck as well so that nothing shifts and breaks, in fact he has packing down to a science! I can tell you that Paramus Moving's prices are very fair and very reasonable and that he came to me highly recommended, ALL THE ABOVE IS TRUE!! What I am compelled to add to my review is that Mike is a caring, compassionate person of the highest integrity, I had a nightmare of a move (unrelated to Mike or Paramus moving) including renting a truck from a rental agency that shall be nameless and going to pick up the truck and finding that they refused to honor the price that I was originally quoted, I wasted two hours trying to get the agency to honor the original agreement, in that time Mike packed everything for me and even though it wasn't in our agreement he brought all the boxes down two flights stairs to pack on the truck, it was agreed he was only going to stay two hours but because of the delay with the rental agency Mike who had plans to spend the afternoon with his family stayed on without any complaints and in fact reassured me that everything would be okay then proceeded to pack the rental truck for me. He is one of the kindest and most caring people! I owe him a debt of thanks for making my move work. I would recommend him and Paramus Moving in a heartbeat! read more

This company, if you could even call it that, is, a horrible company mainly because of their worker, they like to hire young immature and irresponsible little boys it seems, and with the result of the work that is what speaks the loudest and is the bottom line, and it is poor, horrendous, irresponsible, immature, unprofessional, and by far, they just suck. I recently used Paramus Movers to move me from a 10x35 storage container in HoHo Kus to Lebanon, NJ and they were great. I recently had a nightmare experience with the company that moved me out of my old home, HMS, and a disrepectful employee & owner (see review to see what i mean). Well I sure did not get that with Paramus Movers. They sent 5 guys who were very nice and did not mess around. They moved me out of my unit in an hour and even arrived before me to my new house that we were moving into. My family and I have used Paramus Moving three times in the past, but never again. Once was a move from our 1B apartment to a 2B, another was to move a piano from once house to another and the last -- and final -- was from our 2B apartment into our house. I give the three stars because they are good movers, don't get me wrong, but with both moves there has been stuff that's been damaged -- nothing major, just a scratch here or there, but just enough to be annoying to us and slight enough to not ask for them go pay for repairs. The biggest problem is their estimates: they are not even remotely close. Our most recent estimate was that it would take 3 guys about 5 hours to move us for a total of about $750. By the time they were done, it had taken FOUR guys 11 hours to the tune of $1,850! And for a company that only accepts cash or check, this is a big deal because you need to have the actual funds. They also tried to bill me for their lunch time, which I caught, and they spent a lot of time standing around and goofing off. Also key is that I had EVERYTHING packed and ready for them. All they had to do was wrap out furniture and carry down the boxes. I could not have made the move easier for them yet it still, somehow, took twice as long as their estimate and required an extra guy. read more

I would give them zero stars if I could. Don't do business with these guys. We just did our move with Paramus moving and I'm not impressed. I went with them because they were offering 6 guys and Gene quoted 6 hours at $1750 and told me he was over estimating. Of course, they went over their time so I ended up paying more. Plus I gave them a big tip only to find out after they left things were broken, there were scratches on the wall, furniture and boxes in the wrong rooms and trash around my property (cig buds, water bottles, tape). They didn't even unwrap our chairs or wall decor. Left their equipment, broke a chair in half. When I complained all I got was a guy who came over to "fix things" who wasn't there to fix anything really just to get his equipment and lecture me about how I did a terrible job packing. And on top of all this they charged me an hour to drive to my house in the morning to do the job. Really?!? I've never been paid to drive to work! I've moved 2 times in the last five years and this company has charged me the most and done the worst job. Go with a moving company that gives you a flat rate and sends fewer guys but are professional (recommend Eagle Vanlines) not 7 high school kids and a moving truck! read more
