We love this place normally but had 6:15 reservations and were seated next to the pizza grill. No biggie. We ordered three small plates; shrimp, tomato mozzarella salad and the crab Louie with "crackers". Served with an awesome, I mean incredible amount of delicious crab. I got one cracker. I asked for a few more and was told by "Gregg " who asked me to quote him for crackers and he said they "were a garnish ". Huge crab and no crackers. He brought me a few more and warned they were "short" on crackers and it was just a garnish. Still tipped but crab vs a cracker. Ruined our night. read more

We met here for Sunday brunch with two close friends we had not seen in a while. They came from a distance and one drove by the entrance three times before she called us so we could guide her in. The sign along Skippack Pike doesn't have the name of the restaurant on it. The manager heard us and said: "tell her to look for the big rooster." Well thanks, how about putting your name on the sign? When all were assembled, the manager began to lead us up a staircase to our table. I had to point out that one member of our party couldn't climb stairs. He was a bit peevish and said we should have said that when we made the reservation. He did find us a nice table on the ground floor, but I thought his attitude left something to be desired. How were we to know, having never been there before, that there was a second floor? And our waiter was none too friendly, either. Never smiled once. All that said, the place is beautiful, tastefully decorated and comfortable. Very nice ambience. And the food was magnificent. Two of us had the omelette du jour, which in this case was stuffed with goat cheese and asparagus. Served with home fries and pecan bread, all generous portions, and a serving of fresh fruit on the plate. Very beautifully presented. Another in our party had the traditional French Toast which she enjoyed although she had to ask for extra syrup as it was a bit dry. And the fourth member of our party had the crab scampi pizza, which was excellent and enough for two people. Half of it went home in a box. We all thought the quality of the food and the generous portions made the prices reasonable. Well worth the money. We lingered afterward to talk at the table and were allowed to do so, which was nice. I would recommend this restaurant, for the food alone. read more

Came here for Mother's Day dinner. They weren't busy when we arrived. They sat us upstairs where the lights were so dim you couldn't read the menu. When they closed the curtains due to the sun it was almost pitch black. Our server was Brian- he was an asshole. When we looked up the menu online we must have been viewing lunch. Asked the server if they had a lunch menu. He replied with attitude "Yeah for lunch but now it's dinner." Asked how many came with the filet sliders and Brian said 3. When they arrived it only came with 2. We called him over and he said "It depends on the size of the meat." Asked Brian if I could have just a regular cheese pizza instead of the Margherita as I don't like tomato or thick mozzarella. He said a Margherita pizza is just cheese. I tried explaining to him the difference and pointed to the table behind us where a girl had a simple cheese pizza. Brian fought me on it so I said whatever, never mind as I was now frustrated with his attitude. My pizza still came out with large chunks of tomato on it. Pizza had no taste and looked like it had been sitting for hours. Brian was rarely anywhere to be found through out the whole dinner. When he went to box our food, he used his BARE hands and put our pizzas in. The only good thing was the truffle fries. Never again, especially because Brian was a dick. read more

Nice bar, good menu, dated decor. The drinks were great and I was excited to get my food but the plates I had were way under-seasoned and poorly executed. Grilled octopus had no char and the scallops were only seared on one side. And no, they were not sliced in half after cooking. Just overcooked on one side. Great ingredients, just not put together with love and I'm certain no-one tasted it as it went out. Not bad but too many other great choices in the area. Probably won't go back for while. read more

Parc Bistro is my favorite restaurant in Skippack. It has Italian and French country influences. The place is an old house with a few different rooms and a cozy bar area. There is also plenty if outdoor seating behind the house ( away from the street ). I have been going to parc Bistro for at least 10 years and the food is always consistently very good. My meals have ranged from steaks to seafood to brick oven pizza. Last week, I had house made "Mac n cheese" with cheese curd and roasted duck. It was both filling and tasty. My husband and I are fortunate to live 5 minutes from Parc Bistro and we have eaten there many times (over 20 at least). We love sitting outside on a spring/summer night and find the outside setting to be one of the most romantic around. (Nice guitar music outside too!) The service is impeccable and they achieve the right balance of being attentive while not hovering. We have tried other restaurants for special occasions and just to add variety on occasion, but we always find our way back to Parc Bistro because it's our favorite and first choice! Dinner. First courses and Main courses are good, sometimes very good. French fries are good, something of a rarity. Desserts could use a lot of work. Example: whatever was covering the profiteroles the other night, judging by the complete lack of taste, it certainly wasn't chocolate. The cake part of the Pineapple Upside Down Cake seemed as though it wasn't baked. I see a review here says that the servers don't introduce themselves. No, they don't and that is correct. Last night five of us dined at the Parc Bistro and it was a delicious dining experience. It was our first time at this beautiful restaurant. We dined Al Fresco at a table not too far from the bar not too far from the music. The singer guitarist was very entertaining without being intrusive and the drinks perfect!! The menu had a great selection of either small plates, entrees or pizza's. When our food arrived and we began to eat, we all decided we had to taste each others because everything was so yummy. Three of us had the small plates and two of us the entrees. Salads were had by two of us. I am happy to say that I cannot suggest any one item more than another. They were all wonderful. It is always a good sign when everyone chimes in that we have to come back again. Especially since we drove almost an hour to get there, The only reason I would not give this restaurant five stars would be waiter. While chatty and nice, he would have been better served to have written down our orders. He had to come back twice because he could not remember some of the things we had ordered. With pen and paper in hand, i think this would have been rectified. Regardless of the server, I will be back to try their pizza's which I hear are fantastic and If I have the same waiter, I will happily pull out a writing utensil and some scrap paper from my purse to help him along!! read more

I was really looking forward to some high quality food in Skippack and from the reviews, it seemed this was the place. Our experience was much different than the ones I've read about. The service was horrible - our server set a really bad tone right off the bat when it came to ordering the wine. We didn't order off the bottle list, we wanted to do by the glass. They didn't have a glass list and it took 3 questions about the wine before the server told us what they were - no wineries though, just "pinot grigio, chardonnay, etc". She seemed incredibly put off for having to list the wines for us. We finally got it squared away and moved on to the appetizer for which we had the beet salad. At 11.75, it was pretty expensive - good, but $11 for beets? Seems high. For the entree I was torn between the duck and the scallops - the server recommended the duck but never asked me how I wanted it prepared. I stopped her and told her I wanted it done medium, to which she replied they didn't do it medium, they cooked it through. I told her I'd like it medium and she said she'd try. The duck came out well done and the server never came to check on us. I was going to send it back, but we never saw her. When she finally did come around, she asked me if my duck came out correctly, to which I replied, 'no, but I didn't have much choice'. She didn't miss a beat and moved right on to my dining partner as if I hadn't said anything. She didn't try to fix anything. Overall it was a disappointment of a night - it could have been awesome. read more

I really enjoyed a lovely lunch with my sister-in-law. We shared a delicious roasted beet salad with goat cheese. I had an awesome dish which I have forgotten the name. Something pazza. It was a wonderful broth with shrimp, scallop, mussels, white fish & toasted crustini. It was terrific. The crustini soaked up that broth. Yummy!! Our shared dessert of profiteroles was great too. Disappointing is how I would describe my first, and probably last, visit. Went with the GF on the spur of the moment dinner. The place is very nice, I love the decor, the ambiance. We sat upstairs which was nice, as someone said it is a little loud, but it was still nice. The problem was with the food. I started with the Caesar salad, which had far too much dressing and grated cheese. It was overwhelming. My GF order the Chilean Sea Bass and I had the Steak Special. My GF enjoyed the Bass too bad I cannot say the same about the Steak. It was served with some weird, stringy greens (unappetizing micro greens) all over the top of it (obscuring the meat), they did not complement the meat at all. But what really disappointed me was the Steak itself. It had that very distinctive freezer burn taste. It was very obvious the meat had been frozen at one time, and was definitely not fresh. The edges of the steak had that distinct freezer burn flavor, the meat itself had minimal if any seasoning on it. Except for the funky taste it was a bit bland. To be honest the next day (i.e. as I am typing this now) my stomach is feeling a bit queasy. We shared the Chocolate Cake for dessert which was delicious. The service was nice, our waitress did a nice job. I just cannot get over mediocre steak and queasy feeling I am having. read more

I've eaten here twice and both times were great. The most memorable dish was a take on your standard chicken and waffles. I forget the details, and the dish was a special of the day, but it was fried quail on corn bread waffles I believe. The Ahi Tuna Tartare and Beef Carpaccio also stood out. This restaurant is right down the street from where I grew up, and I can't say how lucky I was to have such a good restaurant so nearby in the suburbs. The atmosphere is great in both the summer and winter. The cozy fireplace, broken in furniture and warm colors make it a welcoming place in the cold winter and the outdoor seating and bar in the back are perfect when the weather is nice. They even have an old barn in the back where they host events such as wine dinners. The food is great whether you are ordering just appetizers (which you can easily do and walk away perfectly happy) a wood fired pizza (my vote is the pizza margherita) or an entree. Their soups are always amazing as well. The service is exceptional every time and the servers remember my entire family each time we go in- very impressive. My only complaint is the wines by the glass list. They really only offer a few of each variety and it's difficult to order as the server just rattles through them- they aren't on the menu. I would be happier with a more extensive list but when they've got everything else going for them, it's easy to overlook that one small negative. read more

I recently ate at Parc Bistro with my family. We went there after reading reviews on Yelp and we were pleased with the experience. Our server's name was Elizabeth and she was exceptional. The restaurant itself is extremely charming. The menu is diverse and the food is styled very nicely. The winning dishes at the table were tuna tartare, the mussels, the bouillabaisse, and the steak frites. The fish dishes were very tasty however both the mako and halibut were overcooked. We were pleasantly surprised at the extensive variety of opus one on the wine list. In fact the markup vs. retail is between 25 and 30% which is extremely well priced. The negative from my experience is that there were 7 of us at the table and while the service was exceptional I don't believe that expensive wine should be subject to an automatic 20% gratuity which left us with a bit of a negative lasting impression. While auto gratuity on food is fine and customary, expensive wine should not be subject to the same service charge. This would keep us from coming back with a group of 6 or more. Overall we recommend Parc Bistro because of its charming atmosphere, and great service however beware of overcooked fish and auto gratuity on parties of 6 or more. read more
