First time here, waited at the bar and ordered an espresso martini with the hazelnut liquor which was decadent! The food was delish, the atmosphere was rustic and warm, restroom was clean! The was a chambourcin blend that I had for the first time and was amazing! I tried looking for it but can't see the drink menu to find or which it was. A lovely country location with pleasant service by the owner's family. With a few improvements this could be a great local go-to Italian family restaurant. Leveling up on the quality of the wine for starters would be a positive. Adding Chianti to the wine list at an Italian restaurant would be obvious as would the addition of EVOO instead of butter on the bread served at the table. Be sure to bring your own wine as BYO seems to be allowed and would definitely improve your experience. First time we went it was ok. Second time not good. The place has a smell to it that smells like a basement. The bolognese sauce is very atypical and not good at all as it has chopped up vegetables in it. The sea bass was rubbery. The wild mushroom rosotto was bad and only had 5 medium sized shrimp in it. The pasta is ok. The server took one entree back and only brought back the protein??? Who does that? Sadly we will not be back. Based on ratings I can see what the overall rating is going south. We went here after my nieces baptism and had a great meal. Our group was about 50 and the restaurant did an amazing job taking care of everyone. We had a multiple different food items and everything was great! Shout out to our servers who handled such a large group with grace and professionalism. We arrived at 4:20 for a very early dinner to a restaurant with only 2 other couples that were already seated. The hostess greeted us by saying "we can seat you but you have to be quick because we have a lot of reservations." They seated my husband and I at a table and came for our drink order. We ordered our drinks, appetizer, and entree all at the same time to hopefully save some time. Once we ordered although the restaurant was empty (other than the two other couples) it took 40 minutes for our food to be brought out. While we were there only one other couple showed up for dinner meaning there was only a total of 8 costumers in the entire restaurant. For a restaurant that tried to rush us from the time we walked through their service was less than subpar. read more

We had a reservation for 6:45. The place was jammed and there is nowhere to wait for our table which was not available so we stood by the hostess station but felt foolish because there were 8 other people standing there as well. The problem is that the hostess station is next to tables with diners which is extremely awkward for the diners and the people waiting. Horrible design. And very uncomfortable. It's a shame there is no bar to wait in. We were asked for our cellphone number and they would call us when our table was ready which implied that we should wait outside so we went to our car. Ultimately we felt annoyed so we decided to leave. They finally called us 45 minutes later to say that our "reserved table" was ready. No thanks. We will go back when they install a bar for waiting patrons. So probably never. Sorry. read more

Everyone enjoyed their dinner. 4 different dishes that included crab stuffed flounder, veal saltimbocca, fruitti di mare, and lobster ravioli. Nice portions and presentation. Our server Rosalia was nice and very attentive. The desserts were so delicious... pistachio cake, limoncello cake and a canolli. We showed up at 6:20 for our 6:30 reservations. Place was jammed. We were told it would be a few min. Fine, we were early. 30 min later, we finally left after multiple tables were seated ahead of us because "they were 3 person tables not 2". Never in all my years of being both in the restaurant business and being a patron have I heard anything like this. At one point they actually added a chair to a table that previously only had 2 people at it and sat people ahead of us. I could not believe it. And not once did the hostess apologize for making us wait. She gave me more excuses than I'd care to ever hear as a customer. I even heard one of the servers tell her "well tell them it's a busy restaurant they have to wait". To say I will never be back is an understatement read more

I dined with a group of friends and found d the ambiance and the service to be excellent. We had an attentive waiter, Kyle, who did a great job of taking care of us. I chose arancini as an appetizer; it was ok. Mostly breading without much in the middle. I ordered a mushroom risotto as the entree. The risotto was just ok... 7/10. I found it lacking the creamy cheese consistency that I associate with risotto and it was very salty. Others in my party raved about the lasagna. One member had a branzino dish the he was pleased with. I passed on dessert but the options looked excellent; others had the cannoli that got high marks. read more

I was anxious to try Villa Catarina after passing so often and seeing the renovations that were started long ago. Beautiful restaurant atmosphere! My go to 'test' is lasagna, my favorite Italian meal. Presented was a mushy meat sauce over over cooked to burnt lasagna noodles. Hard as rock. I could not cut it with a knife let alone my fork. It would have broken a tooth or two. I pulled out three large inedible pieces. I mentioned it to the waiter and he tried to say that sometimes happens. For the $26 price it should never happen, ever! Everything is ala cart. Pricey! No offer of replacement, a token dessert, or a discount as an apology or to prevent a review like this. Very disappointed! Don't order the lasagna you may lose a tooth. read more

We have been waiting for Villa Caterina to open for several months and when it did, we decided to try them out. The food was wonderful! The staff was friendly and responsive, and the ambiance was what I would expect from a local restaurant serving local families. . . warm and inviting. I had the veal saltimbocca, and my wife had the eggplant parmesian. Both were superb! The crab cake appetizer was amazing. I hope they turn it into a main dish.
