As a gluten-free girlie, I'm always craving sandwiches but rarely find ones that hit the spot. Now I finally have a go-to place! I originally wanted to order online, but since I didn't want ham and the app only lets you add meats (not remove them), we went inside to order. The customer service left a lot to be desired. The staff seemed to be mostly high school kids, and one of them asked what we wanted, then seconds later started talking to a coworker and completely ignored us. We ended up having to give our order three times. At one point, a different employee asked if a sandwich already being made was mine. I asked if it was on gluten-free bread, and when he said no, I told him it wasn't mine and had to re-order again. There also seemed to be confusion about removing ham and just replacing it with extra turkey. My boyfriend had a similar experience ordering his sandwich. Despite the chaotic ordering experience, the sandwich was delicious, and I'll definitely be back. Next time, I'll probably just order ahead and remove the ham myself to save the hassle.

We arrived around 5:30pm on a Saturday and were told there would be about a 10-minute wait, so we opted to grab seats at the bar and have dinner there instead. As the evening went on, we learned there are some trade-offs to dining at the bar. As the restaurant filled up, the bar area became increasingly busy and service naturally slowed. Small but noticeable details -- like water refills -- started getting overlooked. I was also surprised our server never checked in with my wife about her Chicken Pasta, especially since she barely touched it. We started with the Caesar Salad, which was excellent. The portion size was enormous -- easily large enough for two people to share -- with crisp romaine, generous dressing, and plenty of shaved Parmesan. I'm a longtime prime rib fan, so seeing it featured immediately caught my attention. The 13-ounce cut arrived perfectly medium rare, exactly as ordered. The meat was exceptionally tender and flavorful, complemented nicely by a rich au jus and a creamy horseradish ("horsey") sauce that added just the right kick. My wife ordered the Chicken Pasta, which arrived as a very generous portion that could easily serve two. The dish featured grilled chicken over pasta in a spicy Asiago cream sauce. Unfortunately, the heat level was stronger than expected and ended up overpowering the dish for her, leaving most of it uneaten. One highlight of the evening was the Double Black Diamond Martini -- an infusion of fresh pineapple with New Amsterdam Pineapple Vodka. At $7.95 during Happy Hour (normally $13.95), it felt like one of the best values on the menu and was refreshing without being overly sweet. The restaurant was packed throughout our visit and clearly has a loyal following. After six years in this location, Firebirds seems to have built a strong customer base. With a bit more attentiveness to bar diners during peak hours, the experience could easily move from good to great.

It was nice so we sat on the patio. The brunch menu is small but packs a nice variety. I ordered the tater tot bowl minus bacon add chicken tinga. It was delicious. The tots were crispy, soft scramble egg, avocado, and cheesy goodness. My companion ordered the belly burger. She said it was delicious ious too. For apps we ordered the hummus. It was good. On a previous visit, I ordered the spicy peanut noodle bowl with shrimp and the dynamite shrimp app. Yum!! Both were loaded with flavor. Forgot to take a pic. From 10-11:30 on weeekends, mimosas are $1.99. What a deal!! And of course I had to try all the flavors! Cran-orange is my fav. They have a great happy hour, daily specials, kids menu, vegetarian menu and some gf options. I will definitely be back to try the pancakes and Nashville chicken Sammy. Shout out to Mike the manager and Rey my server my making my dining experiece so very lovely. This casual spot is ideal for families with small children, couples, groups and celebrations.

All the meals came out warmish but my toddler's meal was scalding hot. The teenager didn't like their cheeseburger, the toddler didn't want their French Toast which is wild since that's their favorite thing to eat. My breakfast tacos were flavorless and hubs basic breakfast was tasteless. We left a lot of food on the plates. Not a place we will be returning too. Looking around the place, everyone was ordering lots of drinks. I guess that's how the food tastes better. ‍

I opted for the bread on the side. They put croutons in the soup. Fine, I'll deal with it. Just preferred a fruit instead of two breads. Took a couple bites, noticed how it didn't taste that great. That's OK not everything is Michelin starred. But then I found foil or metal shavings in the soup. OK whatever I got a refund and went to leave. I stopped to mention that she had the wrong information about the soup. She completely ignored me until I gave up and walked out. I get it, she doesn't want a Karen situation. Neither do I. Unknown to me the store by me had for some reason closed early (it's not quite 8:00 pm). When the pizza didn't show I logged back online to see that it had been scheduled for the NEXT DAY! I called but no answer so I called another Papa John's nearby and explained. I was told there was nothing they could do but that they'd make my pizzas a quickly as possible. Again I paid. Another hour goes by. I call to check. I was told they had used an Uber for my delivery and that the driver had kept my pizzas! When I asked how we could resolve it they told me they wouldn't use that driver again! The manager said would remake my pizzas if I wanted to drive to get them! How does that help me?!! I have now ordered AND PAID FOR four pizzas from two different Papa John's. It's been over two hours. My grandkids are now crying because they're hungry. We ordered Pizza Hut. I grew up in Louisville where Papa John's started. They've always been my favorite. I was super excited when they came to Missouri. But I won't use them again. I realize mistakes happen. But this ruined our night w the kids. No offer to rush a pizza to me- no real apology- and no pizzas - TWICE!!!
