We made the mistake of going through the drive thru to start out. We ordered a cainiac combo, a sandwich, an extra fries and a couple sauces. The girl at the window rang it up as a large cainiac and my sandwich as a combo. So the total was just shy of 30.90. The chicken was cold, the fries were old as you can see from the picture. The only thing that was warm was the cole slaw. When I called the store, the person that said they were the manager wanted to argue that they would never do that they have timersnfor everything. I told her that she needs to do a better job of supervising what is going out of the kitchen and that is when she got very belligerent. I just hung up because she was not going to listen. I ordered a 25 piece Tailgate tray from the shawnee mission parkway location. Ordered on Thursday evening online to be picked up at 12:45 on Friday. The website asked for my car make and model and color and instructed me to park in a curbside pickup designate spot and it would be brought out to me. That did not happen. Sat there for 10 minutes. Finally, my husband went in a got the food. If it says on your website you are going to bring it out, you should bring it out. We were serving the chicken within 1/2 hour of our pick up time and it was warm but not hot. And the breading was kind of mushy and falling off, so that was disappointing. Meh. It was hot and fresh. Everything needed salt, but I understand going easy on that for the masses. The garlic bread was the best thing. The coleslaw was a tiny bit too sweet for my liking, but I really liked the texture of the cabbage--it was fresh, crunchy slaw which is hard to find at a fast food restaurant. Disappointment. I got here at 11:25 and it's now 11:53 as I write this and I'm still in line in the drive-through waiting for my food. Never had a wait like this before. Yes, it's a Saturday but that doesn't mean you shouldn't be efficient with peoples time... also, I had to ask them if they had toast and coleslaw because there was a sign saying there was none, and finally after making a comment about it the third time, they did come out and take the note off. Raising Cane's as a chain does'nt have many options, but the options they have are GOOD. I always get The Box Combo which comes with 4 chicken fingers, crinkle cut fries, toast, cole slaw, a drink, and one of the tastiest dipping sauces ever! This combo meal has more than enough food to fill you up for lunch or dinner. Raising Cane's is a huge supporter of canines and the local community. Plus they have GREAT chicken. Every time we get food from here the sweet tea is never sweet. They seem to think because if the label on the container that they draw it from says "sweet tea" that it must be sweet because it says so. Maybe someone should taste it first? The opening day service was friendly and reasonably fast (six minutes). I liked the generous amount of moist, premium white meat on the four tenders in my box combo ($7.29 including drink, Texas toast, fries, dipping sauce, and cole slaw). The dining area was clean and new with background music. If you think bland British food is good, well here you go. I bought the chicken sandwich with crinkled fries that I swear were just the same as some generic store brand frozen fries bag brand. The chicken meat was fried, yes, but didn't have any seasoning and it was on the driest and hardest kaiser roll I've ever had. The sandwich had regular iceberg and a slice of tomato, very little of their special sauce. Which by the way, I asked for more sauce and would you believe that they wanted to charge me for it? I got some because I showed the guy behind the counter how little was spread on the bun. This place just popped up on Shawnee Mission Parkway, and we were anxious to give it a try. I personally don't like chicken, but their sides are great, and their iced tea tastes freshly brewed. I have heard good things about the bread, and the rumors are true...it's the bomb!!! My kiddo had a meal she described as some of the best chicken she's ever had. We tried Cane's for the first time yesterday, and she asked to have it again tonight for dinner. The drive-thru is FAST, and the employees seem incredibly well trained. A maniac for the Caniac Combo! My 12 year old son is addicted to the Caniac Combo! I DoorDash it regularly. It always comes just as I order it! Now I have to say, my daughter is not a "chicken finger" kinda girl. She is a "McD's nugget" processed chicken kinda girl if you know what I mean; not the real chicken deal! I love their canes sauce! When you go make sure you ask for your chicken to be cooked extra crispy. Otherwise the batter will just fall straight off and leave you with chicken with no seasoning. The canes sauce saves their chicken by far because some days they do forget the seasoning on their chicken it seems like. Best sweet tea. Wish they had ranch for the fries or bbq. Came here late at night with the kiddos and the staff were friendly and attentive. The fried chicken strips are so tasty especially with their sauces. Raising Cane's is a new entry in the suddenly booming fried chicken market here in Kansas City. As far as fast food chicken goes, it's right on par with everything else you can choose from. And all of those are basically just fine but nothing great. First up, you can get sandwiches made of chicken strips or chicken strips. That's it. So don't show up and be disappointed there are no breasts, wings, legs, nuggets, whatever. Chicken strips and that's that. Nothing wrong with keeping it simple... The chicken strips themselves are very well cooked, moist, and well breaded. Only negative, they kind of lack much flavor beyond a simply breaded chicken strip... These are not flavor packing strips of chicken, is what I'm saying. It's like inoffensive chicken. Nobody can really hate it because there isn't much to hate. But there isn't anything to really love, either. The strips come with a sauce we couldn't quite ID (ketchup plus something?) and I liked it on the chicken, gave it some flavor, but my husband wasn't a fan for on his chicken but liked it on his fries. Sides I've had were texas toast (eh), fries (just fine) and coleslaw, which I don't eat so can't report on that one. Basically, more of the same when it comes to sides... Simple, effective, there... Nothing special. In a hurry or looking to mix it up from KFC and Church's, which are also in the area, Cane's is fine for a meal. But don't expect to be blown away. If you want some flavor Church's is probably a better bet if you are in a hurry. If you have a little time on your hands, go to Gus's and get some chicken with flavor. Drive thru experience was fine. I drove out of my way to come here having heard this is a lower priced version of Slim's Chicken. That is where I think my experience started off on the wrong foot -- it is not like a Slim Chickens. The Chicken is juicy here and I can't think of any location for fried chicken that has more juicy chicken. I wouldn't say that is a good or bad feature, it is what it is. What I was expecting was flavor -- and that it did not have to give me anything from which to work from to explain why coming here is worth driving out of your way to go. The fries -- well the fries I ate a few and tossed the rest. They were not even up to par with those I would buy from a Grocery Store and make at home. They were not crunch, although not mushy or soggy, but perhaps more like a firm baked potato -- although that is not even exactly right. They just aren't anything I care to have again. The lemonade was good, but there are no free refills. Having dropped $8 or so with fries unimpressive and chicken unimpressive and coleslaw that was not impressive, the lemonade was the primary thing I found I could suggest getting here. But, there are no free refills on it. If you like juicy chicken, without spice and well there was no after taste, you may enjoy the fried chicken here. I would just get the chicken here ala cart and skip the sides if I ever went back, but even then I don't think I will be back as I didn't find the fried chicken anything to be exceptional. read more
