I wasn't keen to explore other bids so we signed the contract. Within 3 weeks the team took down the old wall and unearthed huge chunks of concrete rubble that was used for the fill this the poor drainage/ lack of drainage. They rebuilt the wall with a wider walkway that is gently curved and a cable railing to match our deck. He suggested leaving an area in front of the rail for planting. Brilliant idea! And while we were away, they relaid the pavers in a nice pattern. The drainage is unbelievable. The gravel, the drainage pipes were all expertly laid out to ensure that we will never have this problem again. His team starts on time each day and is tidy at the end of each day. We enjoyed providing them with extra water and snacks. The work is super labor intensive. Shoveling, digging, wheelbarrows of gravel, blocks, etc. I am humbled by the work ethic and quality of work.
