Paris Baguette is located in the Cary Village Square shopping center. It is known for its French-inspired pastries, breads and cakes. There is plenty of free parking. I wasn't sure what to expect when I entered, but the pastries are self-serve: you get a tray and tongs, select what you want, then go to the front to pay. The cakes and specialty items are in a case at the front of the store. Breads and pre-made sandwiches were available near the front. Coffees and teas are available too. I think every item on the menu was available, and someone was adding more items to the self-serve areas while I was there. I liked the variety of items. I went with a chocolate chip cookie, a pain au chocolat, a pineapple brûlée, and a salted caramel pretzel croissant crisp. It's a bit intimidating when coming in at first. So many pastries to choose from. I got the strawberry croissant and the cream filling was perfect. I had initially planned on just eating half of it to save the other half for the next day, but I couldn't help myself from finishing the whole thing in one sitting. That's how good it was. I also ordered the salted caramel pretzel matcha latte and asked for a regular size. The staff gave me the largest 20oz. I was a bit confused since I was expecting a smaller size when I first tried to order from the app, but I heard him say the other size was 24oz so I thought 20oz was the smallest they had. Looking back at the app, they did have a smaller 12oz size, a 16oz size, and no 24oz size. Anyways, I just didn't drink the whole thing. The store is clean, well-organized, and the staff is friendly and efficient, even when it's busy. I wonder what they do with the pastries that are not sold by the end of the day / expiration date. After trying to submit an order with their competitor Starbucks around the way and being ignored, I decided to walk out and go to Paris Baguette. When I arrived, it was refreshing to be greeted with kindness. They were happy to help with bakery suggestions, and there was basically no wait time to order. The milk sticky bun was delicious! I was disappointed in Paris Baguette. when you enter the cafe it seems welcoming with cute bistro tables and two long cases filled with baked goods. everything is self-serve, you grab a tray, place a sheet of bakery paper on it, grab a tongs and proceed to make your selection which you can then take to the checkout and have them warm it in the toaster oven. it is completely lacking of the charm of a Paris bistro. I chose the grilled cheese sandwic, which they warmed for me; and while I thought the sourdough bread was quite good, the cheeses were nothing special. plus, when I asked the checkout person to cut the sandwich in half he informed me he didn't have a knife!! how can that be?!? and on the condiment table, only plastic forks and spoons-no knives!! some of the pastries are quite large & im sure peo would want to share! After eating my sandwic, I purchased 2 croissants and a donut to share with my friends which added up to over $17! (just for the 3 pastries, the sandwich was another $10). needless to say. I won't be returning- it's obvious everything is coming in frozen and there's absolutely no customer experience. when in Cary, I prefer to patronize Annspore's German Bakery where everything is made from scratch and the owner is always gray for your business. read more

It wasn't too busy (just a couple of orders ahead of mine and a handful of tables occupied) but there was a steady stream of folks popping in and out. First impressions: Don't let the exterior fool you. Step inside and it's giving cute Parisian café decor blue, white, and black hues. My Chai latte was four stars. Smooth, flavorful, just the right balance of spice and creaminess. Loved it. The Cream cheese donut was Just okay for me so it gets only 3 stars (I like cream cheese on my bagels, but it wasn't a win on the sugar donut). I probably should've just gone for a plain sugared donut instead -- oh well, maybe next time. Now if you absolutely love cream cheese, please don't let my preferences sway you against trying it! I loved the variety of the pastries, but I'm not a huge fan of the self-serve situation or the single bag where your chosen takeout pastries are all placed (you could probably ask for separate bags if you don't want a sugared pastry touching your butter croissant, etc.), so I'm docking a star for that. At first, I was questioning people opening the display to serve themselves without any assistance from staff and so far away from view of the counter, but it was fine since everyone uses separate tongs. In terms of service, the young woman at the counter was welcoming, and patient. If you come later in the day, almost All the good pastries are gone like special king doughnuts, cronuts, special mochinuts. I've been three times since they opened and I think this location attracts the king doughnuts and cronuts lovers. They need to make those more. I can't blame them. They are delicious. I got to try the mochi doughnut during the first week and I thought it was too oily than I'm used to from other PB. Maybe they were in a rush? But on my second visit I tried another mochi doughnut and it was better. It wasn't as oily as the first one. I can understand that they are still learning their equipment so it's all good. Improvement, so im happy! However, if you are not into the doughnuts, baked croissant based pastries, then you are in luck. Their croissants are nice and flaky, the pastry cream on point with the sweetness, meaning not sickening sweet like other places. Their nata de pastel is gorgeously smooth and delicious. Paris Baguette is still working on its customer service logistics here, and without improvement, its longevity seems doubtful due to the sparse courtesy in customer interactions. My girl & I arrived here around 6:30 PM, and we were surprised to see how the bakery-cafe was packed; almost all the seats inside were occupied. My girl got a tray right away, and got a $3+ coffee-flavored pastry. She was disappointed to see that the center glass case for baked goods was empty, so our choices were kind of limited. That's when we realized that it's more ideal to come here in the morning (and maybe early afternoon). There were no croissants & some of the other pastries left the night we went. The only ones left were mostly cream breads, red bean bread, and cookies. There's also a $4+ pepperoni cheese bread, which made me question, "Why would I pay $4+ for a small piece of pepperoni bread if I could get two large pepperoni pizzas in many pizza places for the same price?" My girl got a medium-sized hot hazelnut coffee & I got a large Iced Pecan Butter Latte. We were satisfied with our coffees. The pecan butter flavor was delicious, and it wasn't too sweet, and the amount of ice was just right. My large coffee cost almost $7 - a price that's worth spending on a rich boba milk tea, so despite how good it was, it's still as pricey as Starbucks. There were no major customer service issues in our first visit, but the frowny face of the cashier didn't match the inviting atmosphere of a classy bakery-cafe. We noticed there's an app for Paris Baguette so we'll try that next time. While my girl was waiting for our pastry to get heated, I was able to find a seat in between two occupied tables. Due to the limited space of its indoor area, the seating here felt cramped; seats were too close apart from each other, so it's not ideal for those who prefer to have a more private conversation with a date, as other customers could easily eavesdrop. There's an outdoor area but it was raining that night, so we had no choice but to sit inside. I also really liked their strawberry cake which I tried this weekend. They made our daughters birthday extra special with cute happy birthday chocolates on her pastries. As a fan of Paris Baguette, I was excited to see they opened a new location in Cary. I stopped by on my way to work and selected a variety of tasty treats to share with coworkers. Similar to local panaderias and Brecotea, the pastries are self serve from the display cases. Grab a clean tray and tongs and select your desired treats. It may have been the time of day or because they opened recently, but it took a long time to check-out. There were maybe 6 customers in front of me and it seemed like enough employees were working. I'm sure efficiency will improve over time. Paris baguette also serves coffee and tea that can be ordered at the counter. Only part that irritated me and other customers was the one box rule. No matter how many items were ordered you were only allowed one small box (fits 2-3 pastries). This made it difficult to share the pastries at work and keep the pastries intact. I understand not wanting to be wasteful, but maybe have a larger box option available? It's a bit of a drive for me so if I return I'd bring my own container. First visit to this bakery today. They have a very large selection of bakery items, both savory and sweet. I had the Nutella croissant and it was to die for! Nutella not only on top, but also spread inside. So good. The restaurant was clean, with lots of tables to sit, including outside. I've seen some mixed reviews about this place and wanted to try it out for myself. It was pretty busy in there but I managed to get a seat so no complaints there! I saw comments about bad service but I had a good experience. I got a peach tea and the girl was more than happy to change the sweetness level for me. It doesn't seem like much but she could've just said no and moved on so I appreciated it. Now on to the food. There's a huge selection of treats. I'm a little upset that I went alone because it limited the amount of things I could try in one sitting lol. I got a pastel de nata which was by far my favorite item. Perfectly sweet and custardy. No one can beat Nandos though. I also got a pain aux raisins and it was okay. I was obsessed with them when I was in France and not many places offer them so they get point for that. The little fruit tart wasn't bad but a little disappointing for me because I was expecting custard and it was a lemon cream. Still good but the pastry was a little over cooked as well. The last thing I got was a premade egg salad sandwich. The bread was super soft in the middle and a little sweet, but the edges were slightly hard and overcooked. The main flavors were cucumber and basil, which were nice but it could've used some salt and pepper. Overall I would come back but with friends next time so we can share a bunch of items. It's good to have a pastry shop with such a good selection nearby. We've been there twice and the selection of pastries and breads is great. The taste is a little hit and miss, but mostly hit for us. Again, we've been there twice so far with multiple items purchased each time. On both visits at least one of the items tasted burned. On our first visit one end of a croissant and one end of a coffee danish tasted burned. Perhaps the oven is not well calibrated or overloaded? On our last visit a twisted donut tasted burned, but did not appear overcooked as if the oil used was old or had been overheated at one time. All the other items were delicious. Service is ok, on or last visit the cashier was pleasant, but we still had to wait a while to check out while four cashiers behind the counter stood to the side and checked their phones or watch one of them try a pastry. While our experience has been a little mixed so far, it has been good enough for us to visit again and see if they get their rough edges smoothed out as this location has not been open long. read more
