Chain bakery but they are pretty good. I'm pretty sure a lot of their stuff is fresh made on site. Usually if they run out of something for the day that's it which is a good sign though. This location is right before the gas station by Rego Center. The store is set up long way and the pastries are all to your right as you walk in. You grab a tray and tongs and then grab what you want. Everything is in a fridge or behind glass to keep it fresh. So I'm a big Dubai Chocolate girlie as I loveeeeee pistachios and anything with chocolate lol. I was passing by Paris Baguette and realized that I had heard of the Dubai Chocolate Donut and I just had to try it. I went in and the place was very nice and clean. All the pastries and bread were neatly placed in an enclosed place where you take your own. I took the last donut and almost ran to the register. I got to the register and saw the pictured for a Dubai Chocolate Matcha Latte and Dubai Chocolate Macchiato. I asked for the macchiato and saw the lady at the register put Matcha Latte. I tried to correct her and let her know id like the coffee option. She simply told me we don't have that, it only comes in Matcha. I stared at the ad and decided not to push more because I was so tired from an early morning flight. She could've said that it wasn't available. I got it anyway and it was still yummy and refreshing. They have a reasonable assortment of the usual pastries and breads, though I feel like the offering skew a little more "western" (e.g. no peanut crumb bun, but a lot of tarts and pastries). There are also cakes you can purchase whole or by the slice, and the strawberry cream cake is one of the classics you can't go wrong with. However, I feel like their coffee offerings are somewhat lacking. The americano is weak, the flavored lattes are too sweet, and hot black coffee is just ok. The best coffee from their menu is the "regular" iced coffee which comes pre-sweetened and with milk added. So I went to Paris Baguette to get my sister some dessert for her birthday. I usually get a whole cake, but I wanted to mix it up and get something different. I love Paris Baguette's pastries and cakes because they are so light and fluffy - they don't feel artificial and aren't hella sweet. Perfect for those with a little sweet tooth. I got the Mocha Piece Cake (the mocha sticks were a bit soggy at the bottom), Mango Coconut Cake Slice (fruit is healthy right?), Berry Fruit Tart (a bit difficult to eat but so good) and my favorite the Tiramisu Mascarpone Cheese Cake. The cheese cake had an edible dark chocolate spoon and wasn't super heavy considering it was a cheesecake. The prices for the dessert are average for NYC. If this chain is not successful I'd be surprised. They are consistently good, affordable (in the discernible world of pastries) and innovative. Coffee is still pretty weak but at least they've got all the creamers and orgo syrups n sugar to pep it up. This AM I opted for the garlic sweet potato log. It was light and airy (as their pastries always are), distinctly garlicky, honey crusted and filled aptly with sweet potato purée. We thoroughly enjoyed the bacon wrapped warm egg salad breakfast roll and mini cheese croissants. A bit oily, the bacon roll was rich and filling- a great hangover food in fact. The mini croissants were superb- crispy black sesame studded and filled with sweet cheese and topped with honey almond slivers. For $4, you get six of these wondrous 3 biters. And really, this popcorn bucket is meant to be shared, a task proven hard to do. Hint to PB- the horchata latte is way too sweet, I'm presuming your other flavored lattes are too. I get it, you're a pastry shop through and through. But kicking up the espresso bar a notch never hurt no one. Just saying. read more
