Bribing customers to write five-star reviews
    David S.

I recently discovered Paris Baguette. Since I have a sweet tooth, I was excited to try some of the pastries and other sweets they make. On my first visit, I ordered the Raspberry Almond Croissant through the Paris Baguette app. It turned out there was not one available. This was not a great first impression, but I will give the staff credit for allowing me to substitute with another item -- the Dubai Chocolate Tart -- that may have been slightly more expensive. I returned the following week after being sent a birthday reward for a cake slice. I tried selecting the Pumpkin Pie Custard Tart. That was not eligible, so I changed it to the Ganache Cream Cake Slice. Neither of the desserts I tried was bad, but I wasn't wowed by either one. For the prices they are charging, I would expect better. What rubbed me the wrong way during these two visits was a small sign on the counter offering a free sugar mochi donut in exchange for a five-star review. I guess I shouldn't be shocked that businesses do this, but it is super uncool and unethical to solicit positive reviews with bribes.

3.5 stars. Beautiful desserts, but I've only tried their Iced Cookie Butter Macchiato, which was good and not too sweet. I like that they list the calories for every item on display. Clean interior. Small, very casual dine-in area. Friendly staff. One unisex bathroom, but it was temporarily closed when I visited today.

Date: Monday, May 19th, 2025 What: Dessert Delivery Time Ordered: around 4:45pm Time Delivered: around 6:15pm Ordered: via DoorDash *Mini Strawberry Lemon Cream Croissant ($6.49) *King Cream Donut ($7.89) *Croissant Donut ($8.89) *Strawberry Soft Cream Cake Slice ($11.69) *Red Velvet Cake Slice ($11.49) My sweet tooth was in overdrive, so I decided to order a few items from Paris Baguette. I did some price comparisons, and DD does charge more for their items. Based on the PB site, the two cake slices are actually $9.19 each and the cream donut is $6.19. Couldn't find the other two items, but on these three alone, you are already paying an extra $6.50. I guess that's the price for laziness? The mini croissant was so tiny, but cute. Not as tart as I thought it would be, but at least it wasn't overly sweet. The cream donut was as expected. I've had this a few times. The croissant donut was okay. It was a lil stale in texture, but flavors were fine. I like their soft cream cake, so this was good. Light but creamy. I like this bakery since their items are not too sweet. But I don't remember things being this pricey. Over $10 for a piece of cake? Maybe if I'm in the area, I'll drop by, but I don't think I'll DD from here again. The premium is a lil too high. Strawberry Soft Cream Cake

Have mixed feelings for this place. Based on the reviews some cakes were not so fresh so we were a little nervous getting this cake. Luckily, this was so fresh and so soft! It wasn't overly sweet and it wasn't overly heavy. Do keep in mind that this was 'soft cream' cake so there was ALOT of cream, and not much of the 'cake' forgot to take a picture. So you're into the cream part then yes this would be a good choice. But if you are looking for more 'cake' then I would suggest picking something else.

Berry tart (lower left) and fruit tarts -- pastry bit is a bit doughy, but still give it a try! One is probably enough

Love fruit tarts and pastries and custard cream. They're obviously very pretty and worthy of giving as a little treat to a friend or birthday. The custard is just right, not eggy, very creamy, with a tint of sweetness. The fruits are fresh. However, the pastry part was disappointing. It was a tad dry and dull, and didn't have that flaky, buttery texture. It felt more like a plain dough that was just crafted to look flakey and rich, I feel like they could do better.

The food is always amazing until there's no filling in your donuts. The always get the coffee croissant donuts because they NEVER disappoint but now sadly I have been disappointed in the donuts. The service was ok. The lady did not greet me but asked me what I wanted and quickly got it and went to the next customer. The was no ambiance.

As others have mentioned, prices are expensive for their pastries. I ordered online for a company meeting. Order was waiting for me when I got there, If you order a large order, make sure to bring a bag. Pastries were excellent and flaky. You can't eat just one. Will definitely be back to try one of the cakes and other items.

I am not exaggerating -- these were the best pastries I've ever had. I never even thought I was a pastry girlie... but Paris Baguette turned me OWT, okayyy!? ‍ Every bite was soft, flavorful, and just chef's kiss. If you've never been, do yourself a favor and GO. You might just discover a new personality trait. I did!

Absolute amazing!!!! The bakery is Korean styled (self served) (The case doors face you and you get a tray and tongs and put the items from the case on your tray). The pastries were wonderful! We got a whole variety of them! The chocolate croissant was fully and flaky! I was hopping for a little more chocolate inside the croissant but over all great! The apple pastry was filled with apple filled and tasted amazing! I really wanted a second one! The sugar mochi donut was alright. We wished it was a little better. The jalapeño cream cheese croissant was the star of the show. So delightful and flavorful! An absolute must try!

If you're missing Parisian pastries, this is the fix you need! I love a fresh, warm, and simple croissant and this bakery not only gives you that but dresses them up with uniqueness! From their mini garlic ones to their strawberry filled croissants! Plenty of other delicious pastries to satisfy your cravings as well. Helpful that it's located smack dab on Market so you can pop in to and from the office or before/after hopping on public transportation.

It ended up taking us over two hours to get our pastries, and by the time we reached the front, some items had already sold out. This time, we decided to arrive right when the line opened at 7:45am on a Friday. Personally, I'd rather get there early, wait a little over an hour, and have the first pick of pastries than arrive later, wait even longer, and risk missing out on items. We were the third party in line and placed our order around 9:05am. By 9:15am, we had our pastries and drinks. After our first visit, I wasn't completely convinced the wait was worth it. The pastries were good, but the long line and wait time didn't feel justified. This visit, however, may have changed my mind. We ordered: * Madame Lorraine * Chorizo & Tot Croquiche * Morty P * Strawberry Vanilla Bean Bun * Pistachio Cardamom Sugar Croissant * Rocky Road Double Chocolate Cookie * Classic Croissant We also got two drinks: the S'mores Mocha and the Cherry Vanilla Almond Cappuccino. Don't skip their drinks, their specialty coffees are just as creative as their pastries. I really appreciate their rotating menu. Their pastries are always so creative, and I love that they experiment with unique flavor combinations that you don't typically see at a bakery. Some items are definitely more memorable than others, but I enjoy that there's always something new to try. Their pastries are well executed. The croissants are flaky and buttery. This visit, my personal favorite was the Chorizo & Tot Croquiche. Overall, this visit was a much better experience than my first. If you're willing to wait in line, I think it's worth checking out. Otherwise, you can always try your luck with their Hotplate presale.

The bakery was pretty quiet when it first opened, but after COVID it gained popularity on IG and now there is almost always a short waiting line here. There is also another location in Fremont. [Parking]: Metered street parking only and the shop is located in a busy part of the neighborhood (Irving Street Chinatown aka the "Third Chinatown"). I got lucky and immediately found a 30-minute metered parking spot nearby. [Ordering]: There was a short waiting line, but luckily it moved fairly quickly. Be prepared to place your order as the staff did not really answer my question when I asked "What are the most popular items here?" Customers can also place online pickup orders via the bakery's website. [Menu]: Per Pineapple King Bakery's Top 10 Items list and Square online menu, some of the most popular items include Guava Butter Pineapple Bun and Croissant Egg Tart (Portuguese egg tart). All drinks come with a complimentary Pineapple Bite. *** Egg Custard Tart (regular HK egg tart - $2.35): A solid egg tart, but it wasn't very flaky and tasted cold. Croissant Egg Tart (Portuguese egg tart - an upgrade of the traditional egg tart with croissant crust and caramelized top, $3.90): Definitely an upgraded version of regular egg custard tart and the croissant crust made all the difference. Guava Butter Pineapple Bun (one of our most popular items - cold, sweet, and smooth butter inside a warm pineapple bun - $4.65): S-tier bun with a soft & pillow-like texture. Hot Hong Kong Milk Tea drink with a complimentary Pineapple Bite (small, regular sweet - $5.25): I sampled the drink and it had the right balance of slight black tea bitterness and a hint of milk with just the right amount of sweetness. *** Top-notch pineapple buns and I can definitely see the appeal. Now that I know the drink comes with a complimentary Pineapple Bite, I actually prefer pairing the Pineapple Bite with the drink rather than ordering pineapple buns with various fillings on their own.

I've always wanted to try this place since I see a line every time I walked by. There's a lot of foot and car traffic. It's definitely a busy area so expect to park in one of the nearby residential areas or be extremely and walk/bike/bus here! Upon stepping into the tiny shop, I was enveloped in the sweet smell of chocolate chip cookies. It was tempting to put that in my bag, but I stuck with my game plan. They do self serve for all the baked goods and drinks except the pizza and focaccia. You tell the cashier what you grabbed. There's self serve complimentary water on the side too. Got a pecan swirl, one of each square focaccia flavors, and a half pizza (hot). The pizza flavor of the day was triple mushroom with sesame ginger garlic vinaigrette and mozzarella. It was 10/10 delicious!! Do note that they don't heat up the focaccia. Personally, after tasting everything, I'd say the pizza is more worth it than the focaccia "pizzas". The pecan roll was quite addicting too. You can also skip the line if you want to order online on their website and schedule a pick up time, but my gift card didn't work so I just waited in line.
