Stopped by this bakery on my way to work and the smell alone pulled me inside. If you have a sweet tooth, this is definitely the spot. From cookies to cupcakes and cakes, I honestly didn't even know where to start because everything looked so good. The displays are packed with fresh desserts and classic Italian pastries and they also offer a variety of coffee and espresso drinks to pair with them. The atmosphere feels very cozy and welcoming, especially with the outdoor seating and little café vibe. Everything I tried was rich and well made. Definitely a dangerous place if you love desserts because you'll probably want to walk out with more than one thing. A nice little hidden gem to stop by for coffee, pastries or just to satisfy a craving before starting the day. read more

We were at Golden Boy Pizza when a lady recommended that we get dessert after eating our pizza slices. So after eating our slice of pizza at the park, we walked to Victoria Pastry. It's literally across the street from the park. I ordered a princess cake. This is the first time I e ever had this cake and it was so good. I'll be ordering it from now on. read more

TLDR: Ranks in top 3 cannolis I've ever had. Preface: I was on a mission to find the one of the best tiramisu cakes in the bay area for a good friend's birthday, and initially settled on Stella but found out they get their tiramisu from Victoria Pastry so off to the source I went. I preordered and paid for the cake online at 11pm and got an immediate confirmation that my cake would be ready by 8:30am the next day. I happened to submitting my passport to the China Consulate for the visa so this was only an 11 drive from there. Parking was awful due to ongoing construction, but I was able to quickly get my cake. My friend sent me a video of her eating the it later that night ands said it was delicious. I personally picked up a cannoli for me and my partner. It was not too sweet or heavy, but had a fantastic shell and texture. read more

My family and I usually LOVE this place! However, we did not have the best experience yesterday. The gentleman behind the counter who helped us was quite rude and told us, "you need to have more patience!" When we asked to pay. A little too aggressive for me, especially with a 4 year old present. Some of their cakes are good (strawberry) some are nothing to write home about (Princess). Authentic ambiance and typically the service is friendly. However, I don't think we will be back. Which sucks because my daughter plays at Washington Square Park often and enjoys visiting the place "with the hot chocolate and doggie painting on the wall." read more

Love this Italian bakery! One of our must visits when in the area! Their treats are always soft, fresh, buttery and delicious! Their cakes are simply bomb! Our favorite is their Eclairs and Fedora. I came here Sunday evening, and luckily there was no line. I ordered a slice of the strawberry shortcake, and it was absolutely amazing! The cake was moist, flavorful, and just so good that I wish I had gotten more! It just may be the best strawberry shortcake I've had in the city. read more

This review is specifically for their Princess Cake! This bakery is located near the north beach area/little Italy and my friends from SF rave about their Princess Cake. We got one for a birthday and it's the perfect sweetness. It's an almond fondant layer that's not too sweet with white cake and crème and I think strawberry jelly? The whole cakes are perfect for a small gathering and the slices are perfect if you want to try! I'm sure service there is great, they have so many options of cakes, pastries and coffee. Historical Italian pastry shop in North Beach. They carry the best cannolis I have ever eaten. This place is a must every time I stop by San Francisco. I usually order traditional or ones with chocolate chips. The filling is made perfectly. The great quality shell is made so well that it does not just crumb when you bite into it. read more

I really enjoyed the two slices I tried One was the princess cake. It was very good. Just that I'm not a fan of marzipan but I did try it out intentionally. Strawberry shortcake was I really appreciate the sweetness in these cakes. Sometimes it can get overwhelmingly sweet and ideally I would have loved these cakes to be less sweeter but no complaints. I understand that the standard sweetness levels in bakeries is pretty high. Friendly quick service. Old school vibe and ambiance. Will I go back for any of these cakes? Probably not but I would recommend anything from here. read more

I used to frequent Victoria Pastry a lot during my childhood as I was in North Beach area on weekends. So revisiting Victoria Pastry a few months ago was very nostalgic. Beautiful cakes, pastries, and cookies are on display, all looking very delicious. I ordered one cannoli and two each of their cookies (thumbprint, linzer, amaretti, etc). Cannoli was good, perfectly crispy shell with a generous amount of ricotta filling. The cookies were perfect bite-sized and great for snacking through the next few days. Victoria Pastry is such a local gem in the North Beach neighborhood. Prime location as well, across the street from Washington Square park. read more

Sugary goodness! I came here a long time ago to try a cannoli but I wasn't the biggest fan. I came back a second time around to try the other desserts they have available. Lots of pastries, cakes and cookies. We went to try some of the pastries and cakes. Boy does this place not disappoint! We had their princess cake, biscoff cheesecake, custard pastry. All so delightful! For someone with a sweet tooth, the taste and texture of everything hits the spot. The items are also best when slightly cold. When it has been sitting out at room temp, the texture breaks down a bit and it becomes messy to eat. Parking is quite limited so I recommend exploring the area and making a pit stop here to fulfill your sweet tooth needs! read more

We LOVE Victoria Pastry and have been purchasing pastries and cakes from them for over 50 years!! You can't find a better bakery in San Francisco! Their eclairs, napoleons, cookies AND ESPECIALLY ST. HONORE CAKES are the bomb! I wanted to give a special shout out to Mery, a baker who always provides the best service AND creativity!! Her warm spirit, can-do attitude and beautiful artistry make her so special. We have recently celebrated a couple of milestone birthdays for our aunt and uncle, who are 90 and 93 respectively. Haven't been here to this location in forever. Passed by and had to get a slice of the St Honore. Also got a slice of the black and white cake. They were sadly all out of the custard Napoleon. Came here for the cannolis and I highly recommend them. We also tried the tiramisu and the tres leches. The tiramisu was frozen on the inside so it took a while to thaw. Tres leches was good but very sweet just keep that in mind. There was no seating inside, just outside, it was chilly in the evening so we took the pastries to go and ate them in our car. This place closes at 8 pm which is awesome for a bakery. read more

We later found out the driver had left the food at the hotel but never told the front desk which room it was for, even though they had all of the delivery information. As a result, our food just sat there until we eventually had to go down and get it ourselves. In the end, I paid for a delivery service that I never actually received. Instead of enjoying the convenience we paid for, we had to track down our own order. Based on this experience, I would not recommend paying for delivery. If you're ordering from this restaurant, save your money and pick it up yourself. I paid for a service, but I did not receive what I paid for. Then to make it worse the breakfast sandwich was just OK. Nothing to write home to mom about. To say the least we will not be ordering her again and would not recommend this restaurant.

I do like the natural lighting coming into the shop, but nothing too special.

We traveled from San Diego to San Francisco, spent time in Santa Cruz, and made our way back down the coast, trying several highly rated coffee shops along the way. While we had some excellent coffee, The Coffee Movement was our favorite. I ordered the seasonal apricot-orange latte, and it was absolutely incredible. I honestly could have had five of them (not that I should have!). It was perfectly balanced, unique, and one of those drinks you keep thinking about long after you leave. We also grabbed a muffin that was just as delicious. The shop has a cool, low-key vibe while still delivering exceptional quality. Parking took a little patience, but it was well worth it. If you're a coffee lover, this place is a must-visit. The Coffee Movement absolutely nailed it, and it's a spot we'll make a point to return to whenever we're in the area. Day two we splurged a little more and had Bee bites, a potato turnover, and a beef turnover. We also had the same lattes because why the heck not? If it was the latter, I sure blew that because at around 10AM on a weekday, I was looking at about a ten-minute wait to order. Not too bad really as they manage the line pretty efficiently. They have their uniquely created croissants on display (Photo 4), though I suggest you do some homework to avoid holding the line up, in particular, me. I knew I wanted to try one of their cubes, and they had the $10 Santa Rosa Plum & Toasted Rice Cube (Photo 8). What a fascinating confection this was as they dexterously shaped a croissant into a cubic model filled with plum jam and Carmelia chocolate cream blended with toasted rice. There were even slivers of fresh plum nestled in the cream piped on top. It was tasty without being contrived and surprisingly flaky. I also ordered the $7.25 Pain au Chocolat which I expected to be a chocolate croissant like the one at Ariscault. Instead, it was a chocolate-filled baton almost like a churro in shape and density (Photo 9). I liked it though it was a bit too easy to devour. The handmade $6.50 Latte complemented the textures quite well (Photo 10). For pastries, I got the plum and toasted rice cube. Unfortunately I didn't realize that I took a blurry picture so I don't have one to post. The cube is a layered sheet croissant stacked and a bit awkward to eat without teasing it apart first. There is quite a bit caramelia cream and tart plum jam inside the cube but it is a small pastry and overall tasted just okay for $10. For drinks, we had the cookies and cream latte $7.50 and banana & salted cream einspanner $9.50. The latte was very small and lacking of any coffee flavor, it was just a sweet drink. The einspanner tasted like a cold brew and bits of banana foster with salted cream. Not worth the hype or the cost of $30 for these 3 items.

The pastries are all flaky and crispy, and you can tell they were crafted by a true craftsman. I think what makes Juniper so special is the selection of unique flavors they have. My favorite being their award-winning Cubano croissant, their black sesame kouign amann, and their choux pastries. I do want to call out how much I appreciate the amount of savory pastries they have since I don't always want a sweet treat the moment I wake up. To note, Juniper is typically busy, but I have never waited in line for more than 10 minutes, even on weekends. They also have a lot of tables for seating, but because of the flow of people, it might be difficult to find a spot. Stop by here if you're around the area! They are also a sister shop of Saint Frank, so you can get some coffee while you're here as well.

On this Friday last day before work week ends the office ask me to order a cake to be deliver. I call Victoria's in hope that I can get a cake to be deliver around 4pm. The lady who answer the phone kept putting me on hold for so long that I actually hung up myself and called back. She said driver has left for the day and that it was easter week minding me they're very busy and didn't want to deal with my pitty order at least thats how it sounded over the phone for me. I totally understand what easter is like for bakeries and I decided to make a drive myself only about 5 minutes away. Walked right in and expected swift servIce but, that wasn't the case. There wasn't a number to be pull just folks standing around waiting to be help. I guess here you got to remember who's in front and who just walk in because they will call you out (hey buddy) lines starts here. I mean how should I know everyone is bunch up so close. The other thing that worries me was that I'm parked at a yellow zone and can be ticketed being that I'm not a commercial vehicle. Running back and forth every now and then just to check for parking officers. While in line and I know since it was slow it will take another 5-10 between person to get to me. Now I needed to use the restroom couldn't wait any longer. I didn't want bother the workers for a stupid question about restroom so, I venture out myself looking for it. Waiting nearby for the other person to exit the restroom I hear loud talking and screamings coming from downstair, can't help myself but to listen in on converstion it makes you wonder what kind people are working there and how they're treated (that is)! The palce is a little dirty also don't believed me next time when you're in the area stopped by. Most reviewers on Yelp are like out of towners or just visiting for one time and thinking what an awsome experienced they had. Read the reviews of locals who lives in SF themselves and its another type of experience. I was doing this on my iphone while waiting for the restroom. After restroom got back in line and the lady behind me knew I was there and I thank her. When it was my turn I walk right up and mention that I've just call 15 minutes ago wanted an chocolate fedora. I told the girl that someone on the phone said thay have them in stock any size you want them to make. It turns out that the lady on the phone earlier didn't realized I was picking it up, now the young girl said it has to be made. I cringed walked out of mad but called the office that we had no cake and that I would had to wait another half hour. So, today I wasted a trip,gas, and time just to visit a bakery that s living off past reputation. I'm given 2 stas because the young girl was very helpful and tried her best but I know it wasn't her fault. The other star is for the sanitary supplies kept inside the restroom you can see the lines and hose attached to each bottle. That's all I can say is what I see now I have to trek across town to Dianda's a girl at the office just call and place the order and inform me to pick it up. Let's begin by saying I have heard of Yelp in the past from people and co-workers. Never occur to me that I would one day open an account here. Now on to my first rating and it would be Victoria's Pastrys Co. To make story short I phone in an cake order to be deliver here place of employment for a co-worker going away party. I was given a time between 9-11am which was ok with me, and even paid for it over the phone. Skip forward 2 days later cake show up at around 10:30 and I was please no problem with that because, we have a fridge in breakroom. Event was schedule for 3pm sharp, everything was going smoothly. Cake cutting time 3:30 after a couple of speeches. By 5:45 my stomach was feeling uneasy movements while driving home. Almost didnt make it home if I had to drive another 10 minutes or so. Now at home taking in some pepto trying to relieve it but, to my suprised it didn't work. Next day upon arriving to work before even sitting down in the cubicle, whispers of nearby workers was audible. One worker I guess was the choosen one or spokesperson for everyone approach me and asked if I had any stomach issues prior to cake eating the day before. I said yes, and now I know I don't have any health problems because, others have the same symptoms. Call the bakery during a break and a young girl answers but, didn't know what to say of it. I was put on hold for a fews second when an older lady ID as manager answers telling me that's how they make the cakes. I said what the f*** are you talking about? I was told to bring in the cake. In the past I've stop by to pick up some items. Service was so-so and now its worst. No one there seems happy to serve customers as I was standing in an invisible line with no numbers to be announce or call. Seriously a North resident was standing in front of me turn his head and said that's why I come only for the coffee and nothing else. Should have listen because, neighborhood people knows best. He went on to tell me that Victoria's and Stella's Pastries were the same owner. I also don't see any Italians working there but, you gotta do what you gotta do to survive right? Got a chocolate napolean to go brought it home and the bottom layer was like stale or soggy like. WTF paid over $4 and had to dump it. I really wonder what this place does with its left overs, I don't see day old bag up for sale or anything that says day old. Only thing bag up was these bags of like over size muffins and even they were hard by the touch of it. That night I went to check the reviews and others are saying the same. First of all to all the businesses out there, I hate to give bad reviews to begin with and for me to give 1 star is something that I see or saw that upsets me. What prompted for me to open this account is what I saw early this morning. I was standing right outside the window on Vallejo st. and saw a yellow truck named Terminex. So, while I was chatting on the cell looking inside also I spotted the guy spraying from a jug like canteen with the chemicals. Thats ok I dont mind to see someone working but,he was going wall to wall and in open areas where the cookies were exposed. Then he proceeded to go near the cakes and spray it down. Its no wonder another yelper said the shop has a shop taste to it, maybe more that I didnt know about. Never never never again that I will even think of ordering from this place for my company outtings or special events. Btw this place is the same owner as Stella's Pastrys and I bet Mr. Terminex works there also. The customer service s atrocious. I live and work in the neighborhood. Been there 4 times. Every time I go I am not acknowledged . I wait. Then it's that stupid asinine hipster I'm better than you and this job and you are beneath me attitude. I grew up in ny. Italian family . the pastries here are okay. Just okay. I may come more often because of convenience if it were not for the horrible treatment you get from the staff. I had staff walk around me, clean up , go back in the kitchen, take a bite of food without even saying hi, or just a sec or anything If you don't like your job get another one. The bakery has many delicious cakes, cookies, and Italian specialties. My favorites are the tasty cookies. The Princess cake is visually beautiful and also very tasty. If you visit, my recommendation is the Fedora Rum Chocolate cake. Because of COVID 19, the only available seating is outdoors. I prefer outdoor seating anyway because it is a great people watching opportunity. The bakery also serves coffee but this is not my recommendation because the coffee is not a pour over or a fresh grind. I very much enjoyed the princess cake after reading all the hype from the reviews. The icing was great and the cake was very fluffy. Although a bit sweet, the balance was good. It felt two people could share one cake, especially because of how sweet it was. I also got the large cookie and it was very disappointing. It was very brittle and cracked when I tried to break it apart. This was probably because they added too much sugar. When we left, we asked the cashier for utensils, but he said they were already packaged with the cake. This was false and we had to run back to the bakery to get forks. read more

Small old school Italian bakery and Cafe. They have a selections of whole cakes and slice cakes. They also have several kinds of cookies. I like the fact that the cookies are small bite-sized but they also have gigantic ones. either way the cookies are fantastic and anyone trying them should try to get a few of each to try. Some of the cookies or crispy what others are soft and chewy. I got my wedding cakes from them this summer. I wanted something unique and boy did I get it. They made me an Eiffel Tower cake and a two tiered pillow cake. Amazing!! This place is filthy, infested with rats and roaches. The rats, looking left and right, would crawl onto the table tops for crumbs. Most importantly, cigarette ashes are mixed in with the pastries. Consider yourself warned…read more Stella is one of the best options in the city for a late night dessert craving, and the fact that they're open until 11pm over the weekend sets them apart. In a city full of ghost kitchens it's genuinely hard to find a reliable dessert spot that's open late and actually cares about quality. Stella is one of those places where you can tell the care goes into every order. I've only ordered through DoorDash so I haven't been inside yet, but based on what's been delivered to my door, I'm not sure I'd be able to leave if I ever walked in! Rich is an understatement for their cakes. I've worked my way through the strawberry shortcake, chocolate truffle cake, Fedora cake, black and white cake, and strawberry cheesecake. Each one brought a little bit of heaven. A guilty pleasure, not going to lie. But in a world full of mediocre options, this one is a treat for yourself. You're worth it! If you're in North Beach, go in person. If you're across the city, DoorDash it. Either way, just go.

She suggested a combo of their famous Sacripantina cake along with my fav St. Honoré on top - it was a crowd pleaser and beyond delicious! I feel so lucky to have such a treasure like Stella in my neighborhood. 25+ years I've been coming here and still going strong.

One of the bigger loafs of bread I've bought. I liked that they cut up the green olives for the loaf since it was more evenly distributed throughout. The bread was nice, had a good amount of olives, and the crust was not too hard so it was easy to eat. Definitely recommend to stop by for a loaf if you need some bread! It's way better than bread at the supermarket.

The allure is the powder sugar and good looking toasted almonds on top! It was flaky, fresh and buttery inside. Kouigan-amann was a nice surprise. I didn't expect the inside to be filled with yummy matcha custard. The outside is buttery and chewy interior with a crispy and sticky crust. Very good! Besides pastries, they also have a good selection of bread. Very friendly staff! Happy to discover this awesome bakery and so close to my San Francisco office!

Tartine is a go to. But its so overrated and long lines I would shy away sometimes. Wildly popular tic tok bakeries - not my thing - 4 hour wait in line - trend followers. Sure, once in a lifetime but not your every day bakery. This is an everyday (or every week) bakery - no fuss - no funny business. I love German cakes and have tried to make them myself and its not as easy as one might think. I've had the original Sacher Torte from Hotel Sacher - and let me tell you - what you buy here isn't the same but its respectable, and down to earth and could save you a $3000 airplane trip to Europe. The owner is very sweet and I think usually at the other location. I love the fruit sauces and the fillings in the donuts. Give them a try. You won't be disappointed.

There's also a good set of drink options like teas and coffees. There are many people who work there, so there seems to be a good system for their operations. In my opinion it was very balanced between pastry and jam. The price is very reasonable for the quantity and quality I received. Would go again.

I heard that sometimes they sell out and close the shop early, but thankfully they still had bagels and gold standard baguettes ($6) left. We got there around 1:30 on a Friday afternoon. Service was friendly and welcoming. There were only a few people in line, also there to pick up baguettes. Glad we were able to snag one before they were gone! I also got an everything bagel and a cinnamon raisin bagel ($2.95/each). The bagels were a bit pricey for the size. Inside, you'll see sheet pans of baked goods being made fresh! I think all the sweet pastry was gone by the time we got there. Sadly, we didn't see any biscottis, spumoni or rainbow cookies. When we got home, we sliced up half of the baguette and toasted in the oven. It had a nice sourdough flavor (not too sour). Best eaten that day! After a few days, it can get hard. But if you can't finish it all, it makes great croutons for salad! That's what we did. It was crispy and very yummy! The bagels were also good and had a nice chew. Though the size of the bagel isn't quite like the ones you'd see in New York. But the texture was close! Hope to come back to try their sweet pastries, if I could just get there before they sell out!
