I brought my grandmother and sister here for lunch on a Sunday and was pretty underwhelmed with my experience. The space was a lot smaller than I excepted, though the decor was very adorable without being cheesy. There were a few tables, but most of the restaurant comprised of a long, shared bench seating and high top tables. They tried to seat us at a high table (on stools) which is clearly not an option for a 86 year old woman. After we were seated, I asked our server about some items on the menu and received pretty vague and unhelpful responses. We ordered two crepes and a frittata, and while the portion sizes were good, none of the dishes were anything that I would go out of my way to recommend to someone else. From my seat, the sun was coming in through the window and there were no curtains to block it. I ended up wearing sunglasses indoors-- I'm really cool. When we got the bill, there was a big piece of food or something stuck on the back of the bill folder. I'm not sure how the server missed it, but I was pretty grossed out when I touched it. By then, they had cleared our table so I didn't even have a napkin to wipe my hand on. Dislike. My wife and I were out shopping and, on our way home, were going to stop for hot dogs and gyros. As were driving past the Showplace strip mall my wife mentioned that she had seen a French restaurant in the complex while driving through o business. We thought we would just pop our heads in for a peek and were immediately captivated by the intimacy and charm of Paris Bistro. This part of suburbia can be a bland wasteland of chain burger, BBQ and pasta places. The joy of finding a non-chain serving French food was too great to pass up. My first glance at the pastry case sold me for dinner. We started an appetizer of Brie Tartines (mascarpone, figs, honey on baguett toast) which was amazing. Just the right amount of sweet and savory, just the right size. My wife had the house french onion and I had the beet soup. The french onion soup did its name proud and...beet soup (.in the burbs...can you believe it?) was a hit with its garlicky/ vinegary notes and a soft, clear broth, just right for a first course where you don't want to fill up with anything heavy. The beet soup does not appear often - but if its there when you are do not pass the opportunity. For our main the wife had the Steak Frites (hanger steak with burgundy reduction and maitred butter). You are committing a mortal sin if you order this any way but the suggested medium rare less the carnivore in you goes home weeping. Tender, succulent, full flavored - this is European! When the waitress asked for my meal order I figured, it's a French restaurant so lets see how they do the basics - Duck Coq Au Vin please. Good heavens and charge up the defibrillator! Easily the best I have had on this side of the Atlantic. Braised to perfection with the required carrots and mushroom it was hard not to pick up the bones and suck them dry. It was served with a side of roasted fingerlings that redefined comfort food. I also had a side of the mascarpone polenta that was a dish of creamy delight. Though the dessert case was tempting we opted to share a Creme de la creme crepes for dessert (along with the suggested salted caramel gelato). We normally share a dessert but this, this was difficult to share. Sweet, but not oppressively so with a heavenly creme Chantilly, bananas and a dollop of Bavarian cream. Top it all off with a selection from the espresso bar and it was heaven in a small shop. We were there at 5:00 on a Sunday, just before the dinner crowd but I have to believe that the service is always this outstanding. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and attentive. As we were leaving we wanted to get a glimpse into what must be a tiny but insanely efficient kitchen when a young woman came out. We asked to give our compliments to the chef and she told us that she was the head chef. This woman was young, barely into her twenties, and was delivering top notch meals that you would expect from a chef many years her senior. She is delightful as she is talented! I recommend Paris Bistro very highly and while it is not cheap, (you can save a bit by keeping to sandwiches and the savory crepes) it is easily one of the best values to be had out here in the western burbs. read more

Hair in hubby's salmon salad...sent back and replaced with a hair-free one. People in kitchen ought to wear hairnets to prevent hair from going into the food. All the food we ordered - mussels frites, salmon salad and Mona Lisa were good but service was eh. Took a long time to get water and for someone to take our order. Nobody asked what we wanted to drink so settled for some water. May not come back for a while. Not sure if the taste of the food is worth coming back. The hair in the salad may give us nightmares for some time. read more

We had high hopes based on other Yelp reviews. How can experiences vary so greatly? That, in and of itself, is a major problem. ZERO CONSISTENCY (I'm speculating) Now, let's get to it.... First, (and one of my major pet peeves) the lighting. Way too bright. 2nd: The service. Not sure who trains the staff, or for that matter, doesn't train the staff. Our server couldn't hide their forced attempts at being cordial. It seemed that we were a burden for them. Very detached and disengaged. Service, I am convinced, is DEAD in the restaurant business, certainly non-existent at Paris Bistro. 3rd. The food. The bread was old, stale and tasteless. The entrees were sloppy and flavorless, which I can't imagine how difficult that is to achieve with French cuisine. This is not French cuisine, I would suggest it's not even French-Canadian cuisine. The Duck Coq-Au-Vin, was dried out, the 'carrots" weren't on the plate, the sauce looked and tasted like it was a a week old. The server recommended this dish, and I imagine has never tasted it. The usage of Brie in 2 other entrees (crepe and Croque Monsieur) is not executed properly. It became sloppy cheese soup oozing out of each entree. Not oozing in a good way. Within a few minutes into the meal, everyone in my party had the same reaction to their plates. The food was NOT good. Terrible. Back to the service... disappearing staff makes me nuts, especially since I can't wait to pay the bill and end the misery. The best they did was to keep the water glasses filled. They certainly did NOT clear the plates from the table. Gross. Don't waste your money and time. read more

I went to Paris bistro this morning with a couple of my girlfriends and thoroughly enjoyed it. The decor is absolutely adorable and classy. They had gelato and pastries. The macaroons are specially brought in from Paris and they were delicious. Food was really good as well. I had the monkey and nuts which was the Nutella crepe with hazelnuts and pieces of fig. It came with a side of gelato. Overall a great experience and would recommend this place to everyone! read more

My wife and I have driven past this restaurant probably more than 50 times. BIG MISTAKE!! After being greeted by the friendly staff and being seated near the kitchen my wife and I had a hard time deciding on what to order from their fully stocked menu. Luckily the entrees coming out of the kitchen made it easy for us to decide. We had the spicy shrimp appetizer which was simply amazing. My wife had the Tour De France sandwich and I had the braised ribs. The food was remarkable. For desert we had the Crepes and gelato which was to die for. We both thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience here. Me, my sister, and her friend wanted to go somewhere different for dinner one day and we were in the mood for french cuisine so we tried this place. The staff is very friendly and since it was a busy day, we waited about 5 to 10 minutes, but not very long. I ordered the Mona Lisa crepe and my sister and her friend both got burgers. I believe one of them was the fromage 3 burger. It was very delicious and really surprised me how many of the flavors popped out of the dish! My sister and her friend were also pleased with what they ate. The prices for everything on the menu are reasonable since this restaurant has more of a gourmet tone to it. Very cute and quaint place. Went with a girlfriend, and we couldn't decide between sweet and savory for brunch. Ended up splitting the Mona Lisa crepe and monkey & nuts crepe. I think this restaurant offers the best gelato flavors in Naperville. The Stratacceli has very dense distribution of chocolate mixed, Not all gelato is created equally, especially in this area. You won't be disappointed with their dessert selection either. This restaurant is worth visiting , even if you were looking for a dessert experience. The food is good here. the portion size is appropriate. It offers very authentic French cuisine (according to my wife who grew up in Quebec and is french-canadian). It is a small environment comfortable enough for a family, but intimate enough for a date night. There dining atmosphere is unique, in a special way. The service is great. The presentation of the food make me want to wear a jacket in this establishment out of respect for the quality and attention to detail in how they plate the meal and the quality behind what they serve. I wasn't adventurous (since I don't eat cheese, and most of the meals are made with cheese). I had the paris Bistro burger, one of the best burgers I've ordered in a long time. Four stars for a less than mainstream menu, well decorated place in a super duper suburban town and good service. We went here for Saturday brunch and tried the lobster dip, Brie and eggs on brioche, and apricot almond Nutella crepes with creme fraiche & salted caramel gelato on the side. Everything was good. The dip had a nice spicy kick to it- lobster and red crushed pepper should be paired more often. I'm getting tired of Nutella but I still tried the crepes cause I love apricot anything, so I enjoyed these. The gelato was delicious as well. I should add that I was really excited to see pistachio dust French toast their yelp photo section, as well as read about it in the reviews AND note it on their website menu. Perfect brunch spot. I tried various items on the menu until I happened upon the Crème De La Crème crepe, and I haven't looked back since. I'm sure there are other things that I could try, but that crepe is just an absolute must have for me. If you prefer meat, their steak frites is also delicious. The service is great. Tried the Paris Bistro in Naperville and had a very nice experience there. My wife ordered the Duck Au Vin -Braised duck with Bordeaux wine sauce, carrots and mushrooms and I ordered the Bouillabaisse- Seasonal fish, shrimp, scallops, mussels, clams and calamari with fresh fennel, saffron scented fish broth and garlic rouille. My wife found the duck to be very tender but did not care too much for the Bordeaux wine sauce. The Bouillabaisse was excellent with lots of mussels, a clam, 2 shrimp, 2 scallops, calamari, and fish chunks in a very nice tasty broth that had carrots in it. For dessert my wife had the pear cake which she felt was delicious and I had the chocolate lava cake which was tasty. Our waiter was very good and we plan on eating here again. read more

We went with friends whom I had talked into it. They also loved it. The entrees we ordered were leg of lamb, pork, and a hamburger-all delicious. I previously had the beef tenderloin-great. My friends and I were looking for a cute backdrop to host a Girls Night Out-Birthday Toast on a random Thursday night close to home. After looking at Yelp reviews we settled on this little French inspired cafe in a strip mall surrounded by random chain eateries. Of course we did not have a reservation. No worries as the staff immediately seated us and made this birthday girl feel welcomed. Since it was half-priced wine night we ordered a couple bottles for the table and enjoyed the atmosphere. Everything from the wine, cream of broccoli soup, bread basket and chicken entrees were fabulous. The only letdown was the seafood crepes. I prefer my seafood entrees a bit more seasoned & savory. My family and I sat down and 2 or 3 servers walked past us several times, avoiding eye contact and no one stopped to say they would be right with us, get our drink order, etc. We left after 7-8 minutes of not being greeted. I know there is a shortage of servers right now but this is unacceptable. The restaurant was not busy what so ever. Very disappointing because we were really looking forward to trying to new location! We had gone to the previous location a couple times and had no problem with service. We stopped for a birthday brunch and had amazing food! We had the mimosas, charcuterie, croque madame, and the Tour de France. The decor and atmosphere isn't tacky like other midwestern Eurocentric restaurants. It would be nice to see a larger bar area, but brunch is what you come here for! We came in on a Friday at noon, and there was only one waitress and then the manager. With four tables to juggle, everyone's service seemed to be fast and they were very engaged with everyone. Jill, the manager, is very knowledgeable of the food parings and was cognizant of our needs. I wish we had found this place sooner! read more

We've lived in the 'Ville since '08 and just stumbled across this place...WOW, what an awesome little out of the way gem. Went for brunch and the food was fantastic. Momma 'goose had perfect scrambled eggs and a ridiculously tender spot on piece of steak. The potatoes were 100% righteous crispy cubes of potato perfection. We went back to Paris Bistro to tempt fate and see if it was as good as our first visit...... and it was BETTER. This time we had my sister with us as well as my father and everyone's meal was excellent. This time my father went with the sweet berry crepes that came with an outstanding berry gelato. Once it arrived my dad put his head down and we didn't hear a word from him until he proclaimed that he had just had the best blackberry he had ever eaten..... and at 88 years old that is saying something! My sister had the seafood crepes which were every bit as good as they were when my dad and I ordered them at the beginning of July. My wife ordered the whitefish special and I ordered the veal special. We swapped them midway through the meal and enjoyed every bit. A word of caution on the whitefish special, the big green things on the plate are not olives, they are the world's biggest capers! I wish I had known that as I didn't taste them until after I'd cleaned the rest of my plate. Lesson learned! We treated ourselves to the deserts this time. My sister loved her creme brulee, my wife loved her chocolate lava cake topped with salted caramel gelato and I was amazed with my chocolate eclair complete with 2 scoops of gelato. My mother and I were excited to try the new location of Paris Bistro as we've frentquented the first spot often. My mother was happy with the polenta fondue, creamy polenta and plenty of mushrooms. As usual the french onion soup was delicious. My side salad was fresh, but not dressed. The crust and veggies on my quiche were good but the quiche did not have enough egg, there was a layer of cheese melted on top, over powering any flavor of egg. Service was attentive. Our biggest disappoinment was the decor. We loved the coziness of the original place with the hanging topiaries, white chandeliers and heavy black curtains. The new location is lacking warmth, it feels more of an Italian Trattoria. The industrial chairs are uncomfortable, there are murals throughout but do not tie the place together. This place needs some help, maybe black & white awning stripes painted on the tray ceiling would help or bring back the bakery cases. read more

My 7 year old daughter is obsessed with Paris right now, and this was a wonderful experience for her. Our waitress Ashley went out of her way to ensure we had a great time and the food was outstanding! I had the salmon special. The presentation was top-notch. My daughter ordered chicken strips from the kids menu, and she said they were the best she's ever had. Dessert was definitely our favorite part of the meal. My daughter had a crepe and her eyes rolled back in her head on the first bite (not an exaggeration). I tried the flourless chocolate cake and it was excellent. We will definitely be back! read more
