Grasshopper cheesecake and a section of decor.

Wonderful cafe in the Civic center area of SF. Great menu selections - I had the veggie sandwich and it was perfect. My daughter had the ham and cheese and a grasshopper cheesecake which she loved. The Paris theme is on point. It is not overstimulating and very clean. Highly recommend this cafe if you are in the area.

Definitely a bright and clean place to hang out for UC Hastings students perhaps. Parisian pastries to fancy slices of pastries. Prices won't break your piggy bank. Just a treat. I got the puffy, pillowey beignets, not the New Orleans style, not fried, fluffy bread with fillings of hazelnut, white chocolate, chocolate. You just pop them in your mouth. Not overly sweet. Staff was nice.

I was walking back from Ariscault when I noticed this new cafe. It is clean and airy inside. They also have a lot of pastries. I ordered an iced mocha and chicken panini sandwich. The sandwich is good. They used real chicken breast, not processed slices. Service isn't exactly cheery but you are thanked for your business and service is prompt. Prices are reasonable. Give this place some love and try it out!

Cute place to grab a coffee and a bite, and settle in to read that book you just borrowed from the library. I walked in and couldn't believe I was still in the TL. Guy at the counter was really nice too.

Soft ambient music playing in a large open seating area with plenty of space to study or read. Close to the courthouse, Civic Center/UN plaza. Very clean inside and lots of yummy pastries for your sweet tooth.

Coffee and Chai were great. The Tuna Panini was big enough to share. Large sitting area. Very comfortable and bathroom is very clean. Service people are very sweet, too

Very earthy matcha and an amazing tree leches cake. The ambience with great and super friendly service. The free wifi and access to outlets makes this a great place to study. Highly recommend if you're around the civic center. Super close to the bars station as well.

But when you want a sandwich that only tastes like its ingredients, Irving Subs is the spot. Their Dutch crunch is famous for being fresh and actually crunchy. Their lettuce is shredded but fresh and crispy. The salt content is just enough to bring out the flavors. And the overall composition of their sandwiches are very well proportioned. You're not getting skimped, but you're also not biting into a mouthful of a packet of deli meat. They definitely know what they are doing. Service is good and ambiance is a small humble shop on the corner of 12th Ave.

Back then, there were sliced cucumbers in the sandwich. I finally returned again recently and tried the Giants sandwich (turkey, cheddar, thick cut bacon, avocado) and Goodfellas (salami, mild coppa, prosciutto, provolone, pesto sauce). The Goodfellas was a bit too salty with the meats + pesto sauce. I think more lettuce/tomatoes/red onions and slightly less meats would've helped balance it out better. I had requested extra red onions, but it looked like the same amount as the other sandwich we got with no extra onions. Also was not a big fan of their pesto. We both preferred the Giants, which was relatively more balanced, but it was still not a very exciting sandwich. The primary flavor was salt, with only a few bites of sourness from the pickles, yet it also gave the overall impression of blandness. The house garlicky mayo didn't have any noticeable garlicky-ness. I also couldn't taste any of the brown mustard or house vinaigrette. The Dutch crunch bread was quite dry and both thin and dense. It looked so good in the pics since it's so stacked with colorful ingredients, but it did not pull through in terms of flavor. Halfway through I was just eating it to fill my belly with sustenance rather than enjoying it (though I didn't hate it either). Prices still seem pretty reasonable for the portion size; that would probably be the main draw for me if I ever return again. Maybe I will give the November sandwich one more shot next time.

Fear of Mission Out. The sandwiches are in high demand. The line on a Saturday that went from the intersection, around the fridge section, to the cashier took about 15 minutes and the sandwich took another 15. Both sandwiches were filling and fresh. We got hot ones with toasted bread. The couch potato with crispy pancetta was good, but American cheesier than expected. The preferable lemon pepper chicken sandwich was bright, flavorful, and tangy, with more dimension. I don't know if it's my favorite sandwich, but certainly top five. I give them five stars, however, because everyone was unpretentious and super nice, the sandwich artist is a machine, they have unique items, and they only charge $1.25 for a can of soda. As for the fresh chocolate chip cookies, my wife liked them. I didn't understand the hype. They were fudgey and doughy, so I guess if you like eating cookie dough you'll love them. We bought enough to have one as an appetizer and one for dessert.
