This place is rather small, but definitely a local mysterical coffee space that y'all should support in the Tenderloin! It's easily a 2 minute walk from the 38 bus stop going west towards Japantown, and while it's hard to find parking, the coffee shop is usually always pretty bustling. Though small, the ambiance and the energy are always top notch -- you can never deny it! The service was quick and efficient -- and it works perfect for professionals who are in a rush to get to meetings. I got quite a few things at Scullery -- a latte with a savory bread toast (they had sadly ran out of the sweet option so I aimed for the savory option this time around). We got to check out Scullay Coffee recently. The space is very small with only a few counter seats, but it was cute overall. They also had a couple of little outdoor seats . We ordered two drinks and a toast. After waiting about 15 minutes for only one drink came out, I asked about the second drink. The barista said they were out of ingredients to make it. They offered substitutions, but after looking over the menu, three other drinks I picked also couldn't be made because they were missing ingredients. At that point I just asked them to make whatever they could. We ended up and a Burnt Carmel latte and I think he made some sort of pistachio latte. They were both good, but I do wish the temperature was a bit warmer. The avocado toast was mixed for me. They were generous with the avocado and it tasted fresh, which I appreciated. But the tomato topping wasn't my favorite -- the chunks tasted more like canned stewed tomatoes, so I ended up picking most of them off. Overall, nice people, but the long wait and limited menu availability made the experience not our favorite . The location is also not the best .... But San Francisco in general is not in the best shape currently! read more

This was a great find while on my San Francisco trip. I was in search of matcha before having to head into work but found this awesome place along the way. FOOD/DRINKS I came for a matcha but tried their cardamom latte and it was divine. I was glad I gave it a try. They even put a heart on top for me. I was particularly curious about their Rarebit Ham with egg and it indeed an elevated breakfast. The ham was cured wonderfully. The flavor profile of the entire meal was chefs kiss. I could taste the years of experience the chef had, It was absolutely delicious. SERVICE It came out in a good amount of time and I could tell that EVERYTHING was made with such love and care. The people in this place really are putting their all into the food and drinks they make. AMBIANCE It was a chill trendy vibe. They had cute little seating right on the sidewalk outside so you could enjoy your coffee and people watch. Strong, not too sweet, and my iced lattes were the "perfect color" (iykyk). Recommend the burnt caramel latte & the TL from their specialty menu. My parent were visiting and they wanted a light breakfast. So I knew Scullery was the perfect place to meet their needs. I wanted to try their pepper jelly cream cheese toast, which is currently a seasonal item. But they had ran out of cream cheese that day. So I made it my personal mission to return, which I did the other day. I love pepper jelly and usually eat it with bolani bread. It never crossed my mind to pair it with cream cheese, and it's the perfect combination. The pepper jelly is sweet with a tickling heat, which is soothed by the richness of the cream cheese. Of course when it comes to toast, it all comes down to the bread. They use a seeded sourdough with a salted butter at the base. It's thick with a crackling crust, but soft on the inside. It's the perfect vehicle for the variety of toppings they offer. I've tried all their toasts on their regular menu, except for the pesto one because I'm allergic to it. They are all delicious. And I also recommend getting their Yorkie, which is the Yorkshire pudding filled with ham and Welsh cheddar. It's worth the wait. And if you love coffee, be sure to get a cup because it is really good. All in all, it's a place with good food, good coffee, and good vibes. It's truly a neighborhood gem. read more

Looking for my caffeine fix before a long day of conference, I walked from my hotel to Scullery. This coffee shop is extremely small but very quaint. I wasn't quite hungry, but their various toasts did look delicious and I regret not trying one. Instead, I ordered an iced oat milk burnt caramel latte. This place in the Tenderloin is adorable! It's Clean, cozy (very small space, the sitting area holds less people than a hospital elevator does), and well decorated -think contemporary rustic. The coffee though... It is beautifully crafted with love by the baristas. I really like the malted mocha. The staff are friendly and attentive and really seem to care for their customers, which is difficult for them to do when they're so busy with orders and there are only two people behind the counter (I haven't seen more than that). read more

Whenever I get to be in the city, I have to start my day with Scullery. I first had their coffee in November, a rich Lavender Latte. It's a flavor that left you linger. I brought my husband back today, however, they're no longer carry the Lavender syrup. We got Salmon Mash Toast, Burnt Caramel and Dolce de Leche Latte. What got me to write the review was my husband's comment how exquisite this flavor is 5 times on the drive back to the hotel. They all sell open toast sandwhiches that looked really good but I did not have one but I will make sure next time I am there. Service was good but it is a small establishment so be prepared to take on the go. I loved the ambiance of this place; definitely makes you feel like you are in a local small cafe. I had planned on eating breakfast here and staying awhile after my long walk to find it. What I found was not enough for me to stay. Rough area, I felt very unsafe walking alone, enough so I almost turned back. Curt employees who seemed disinterested. Smaller inside that wouldn't accommodate many and there was no way I was eating outside to be hackled. The large coffee I ordered was nothing to write home about. I checked out Scullery in the Tenderloin. I didn't have to wait so that was good. Got a latte $4.75, thought I got a deal until I saw the size of the cup, small about 9oz is my guess. I wanted a bear latte art and the girl let the guy make it for me! They have toast and pastries. I wanted the sticky bun that's from a bakery in Mtn View. Next time I'll get it. The absolute best coffee I had in a very long, long time. I ordered the Burnt Caramel Coffee, DELICIOUS!! It wasn't overly sweet and it wasn't bitter. Very smooth and creamy. My husband had the avocado toast. He said, It wasn't spectacular but it wasn't horrible. Just a good option for breakfast when you're on the go for convenience. But the drinks is their stand out speciality by far. It's located in the Tenderloin district which is a hassle but it's worth it. Just use common sense in the area, the coffee will be worth it. Very small store so there's a probability that you'll have to take whatever you order with you. It's a tiny place. There is some bar seating on either side of the small shop, but when three people are waiting for their order, it feels pretty crammed. I got my drink to go. They source the coffee they serve from local roasters. The drink I ordered, the Honey Lavender Latte, is listed on their online ordering system, but not on their handwritten menu in store. The drink was a great flavor; you could taste the lavender and it wasn't overly sweet. They state online that they make their own honey lavender syrup in house (w/lavender buds, honey, and raw sugar). For the quality/taste and price-point of their drinks, I recommend checking out Scullery the next time you're in search of coffee in SF. Pretty latte art too, which is always a plus! read more

A popular hit seemed to be the Burnt Caramel Latte which I got with Oat Milk. As a caramel lover, this was uniquely crafted and well-balanced. The caramel was slightly smoky and subtly sweet. My companion got a Matcha Latte with Almond Milk which was good as expected. If you're looking for affordable delicious coffee in San Francisco, the Scullery is a good choice. Definitely a contender for the top spot on my quest for San Francisco's best Avocado Toast. Perfectly ripe avocado topped with a perfectly fried egg, on a thick slice of seeded bread. The seeds were just short of overpowering for me, but it added a little punch, & my opinion is subjective. I showed up at 11:00am on a Sunday & there was a small crowd waiting for their order. Most people were there for a coffee, which I was told is terrific. Avocado toasts were also flying off the counter. My order was taken after a small wait, tea latte appeared in 5 minutes, & the toast arrived about 10mins later. No attitude from the staff who were working hard. Heads up, Scullery is mostly take- out since the counter seating pretty cramped, and there are only two one-person tables outside. I sat outside & was only asked for $ once. This is semi-Tenderloin after all, short walk from Union Square. So, 5 stars all around. I'll definitely be back. read more

The service was stressful (brunt employee, understaffed for how busy they were), but the food made up for it.
