    Crepe and drip coffee

As a coffee nerd, I love this place! The owner is so knowledgeable and passionate about the coffee. They explain everything about the coffee to you. They also have great hot foods. It's a great place to go sit and work. It gets pretty packed on Fridays so I recommend going earlier. I also went on a Tuesday and it was much calmer. They have large tables so you can bring your laptop to work. A great (hidden) gem of SF!

A local gem in Nob Hill! It's a cafe during the day and bar at night time. The atmosphere is cozy with plenty of tables to work from. The owner at the front is really friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. It's apparent every dish has been thoughtfully made. Felt like a high end dining experience but at decent prices. Matcha latte: Light drink and has a subtle sweetness. Love the foam at the top. Patty melt: The sausage patty was so good. It's perfectly grilled and juicy with melted cheese and fresh lettuce on top. The mustard sauce on the side also added a nice kick to it. Would love to come back to try their other pastries.

Great coffee, served with a smile, in a welcoming relaxed environment. Very chill but energetic music fills the air as perfectly pulled and precisely dialed espresso hits your tastebuds. There are plenty of tables and chairs to do light work or catch up with a friend, and the espresso, served only for here, has a smooth intentionality that warrants a return visit.

Have you ever walked into a new place and instantly know that you're gonna like it? That's how felt about Better Half Coffee. From the space, to the music, to the menu, to the people, I knew that this is going to be my go-to cafe. Coffee is excellent here. So far I've had an iced latte and a mocha. I'm not a coffee expert, but I enjoy the smooth flavors here. And I don't find it acidic, which I like. As for food, I've tried the Thai butter cake and avocado confit. The cake is delicious! It has the flavors of a Thai tea with the decadence of butter. The crumb was soft and the jam added the right amount of sweetness. It paired well with my iced latte as it had no sugar. I recently had the avocado confit and wow! It has punchy flavors from the mustard seeds and mustard vinaigrette. The poppy seeds provided a crunchy texture next to the silkiness of the avocado. And I'm not a fan of pickled onions, but it added another layer of acidity that I enjoyed. It came with a crusty ciabatta for dipping. And it was emphasized that it's not avocado toast, which I found amusing. And it's true anyway lol. Service is excellent! I've never been to a casual cafe where they provide details on what you're about to eat. I have the short term memory of Dory, so I appreciate that. Plus, I love learning how something is crafted. I will try to make a pilgrimage here once a week on days when I work remotely. They just have really good vibes all around, and that's something I like to surround myself with.

New find in the neighborhood and love that it's so close! The coffee in the morning with wine bar at night is a great combination. The people behind the bar are friendly and efficient with the orders. The coffee itself is delicious - love the cappuccino and my friends love the matcha. Their pastries are a great variety - tried the Gruyère onion tartlet and the breakfast patty melt which was small but delicious. It's a great vibe and lots of neighborhood regulars are often there with computers.

Love this place . It is popup store inside a wine bar. It is coffee shop in the morning and wine bar in the evening. They just opened about 4 months. I am not sure if this is their permanent place. We were looking for coffee shop near North Beach and found it. The interior is very nice with small section where they take order and prepare the coffee. There are some pastries to choose from and they also have something from kitchen. The owner is very friendly and based on our conversation, he has been in coffee world for quite sometimes. We order matcha, cortado and latte. They have milk options if you are lactose intolerance. We also order Confit Avocado. The order was ready quickly which surprise me. The coffee and matcha were tasty. The highlight is the Confit Avocado. It is so yummy and different than regular avocado toast which you get from many coffee shop. They infuse the avocado with oil. I never had this before. it is at next level. The price is reasonable and good this is it is pet friendly place.

Another cute coffee shop to add to your stop! The interior is quaint and cozy, especially with the vibrant window nook and the cozy upstairs area. Grab your coffee and enjoy one of their yummy treats from their display case, or order one of their hot and fresh made items like the Thai butter cake. The slightly sweet cake is soft with a chewy, crispy outer layer and pairs so well with their passionfruit apricot seasonal jam and creamy custard. It took a few minutes for them to prep the food but service was over all friendly!

one of those cozy "cafe by day, bar by night" nooks. ispahan latte ($7.50) was balanced & foamed nicely. beans are from hedge coffee which I recall to be quite acidic but the acidity was masked in this latte. pretty small space so it can get loud for working but it's nice and the baristas are really friendly!

Got recommendations from friend that made me would like to try this place and was impressive. Joshua was amazing, explaining the food and drinks in great detail and great service mind. I ordered an Iced latte and it was smooth, just the way I like it. The pastries were also very delicious. They weren't too sweet and had a smooth texture that complemented the butter cream and apricot jam, which was very delicious. Highly recommended and definitely be back.

great breakfast and pastry selection, great service. cute inside and a good amount of seating for a small place. 10/10 recommend

This place is so inviting! Fairly new, and I'd highly recommend it. The barista was really kind, showed me the WiFi right away before me asking. They have plenty of seating, not too crowded and chairs outside. They also have great food options!

I'm always hunting for spots like this because I have a weakness for those over-the-top, Instagram-worthy desserts that look like diabetes in a dish. Like most places in this genre, A Buttercup is small, modern, and minimalist with limited seating. If you plan to go, aim for off-hours unless you enjoy waiting in line for sugar. The decor is cute and trendy, perfect for photos if that's part of your dessert ritual. As they say, "you eat with your eyes first," and when it comes to presentation, this place definitely gets an A+. The desserts look stunning and set high expectations. Unfortunately, that's where things started to crumble. It's like going to see your favorite artist live. You've watched the videos, memorized the songs, and paid for the experience. But instead of the electric performance you imagined, you get someone lip-syncing and barely connecting with the crowd. That was this place in dessert form. We ordered the Mango Bingsoo on our first visit, and when it arrived, we were surprised by how small the portion was. The guy next to us even looked over and said, "Whatever that is, I'm getting that next time." He shouldn't have. The Bingsoo looked great but was bland, and the "snow" was more chunky ice than soft shave. The Thai Tea Roti was also not what I expected. It came with Thai tea ice cream and sauce alongside a roti that was fried to a crunch. Interesting idea, just not the best execution. The sauce and ice cream needed a stronger Thai tea flavor to balance the crispy roti, and the flavors never quite came together. Overall, A Buttercup nails the aesthetics but misses the flavor. If you're here for the photos, you'll be happy. If you're here for the taste, you'll leave with a full camera roll and an unsatisfied sweet tooth.

We came for a factory tour, about an hour long. It was fascinating and educational to learn about the craft of chocolates from fruit to beans to the chocolate bar, and to get to chocolate taste along the way. Their work is inspiring-adding minimal ingredients to their chocolate bars so that the flavors of the cacao beans shine naturally from where they originate. After the tour, we tried the hojicha hot chocolate, the celebration cake, and the matcha cookie. For the hojicha hot chocolate, the tea flavor was subtle, but good chocolate. The celebration cake was what we expected-glad it wasn't overly sweet so that cocoa is more pronounced, but it also wasn't too rich; I felt the chocolate here in some sense lacked depth. The matcha cookie was my favorite-a cake texture matcha exterior encasing a denser brownie-like chocolate core - a delicious combo! Last thoughts to prep for the experience if you tour- 1.) Eat before you go on the tour-sampling chocolate means you do get caffeinated, and you'll likely purchase more chocolate (more caffeine!) after :) 2.) Included with the tour is a complimentary chocolate drink of choice at the end, in case you were pondering whether to buy the hot chocolate or not ;) 3.) Dandelion Chocolate products are pricey but quality. Paying the price feels like it's appreciation of their art. If you love chocolate, it's a wonderful place to visit at least once!

So creamy ice cream this the name Garden Creamery. LOL…read more Although there was a line, it went by okay, no rush. Everyone in line was polite with their friends. Plus, I Needed time to narrow down what 2 flavors I wanted. I was happy to be finally in the area and it was open! I haven't been back since the pandemic. They open late in the day and I am not here at those times until my event at the rooftop restaurant was about a block and half away on a sunny Sunday afternoon. I found the line to be wrapped around the store in the corner. Ice cream still tastes creamy and unique flavors are lovely. With two sold out flavors I decided to go with matcha Oreo and classic Vanilla Lilikoi which is Tahitian Vanilla with passion fruit which was the best flavor (most popular one - just look at the tub as most people ordered it. I would normally order the ice cream in a cup to get a better ratio of ice cream. But I decided I hadn't had a cake cone in years, so I went for that cone. It was like going back to my childhood eating ice cream with my parents. Yup this place still lives up to its name as ice cream is creamy and unique bold flavors are the draw as they make their own flavors and use fresh ingredients with 100% grass-fed, organic dairy from local Petaluma family farms. They also make a super creamy line of coconut-based vegan sorbet - sweetened with agave nectar, for a non-dairy alternative. Their tea are from Japan and Asian countries which is why the matcha ice cream tastes good. They also l pasteurize their bases. Then they slow churn each flavor with virtually no incorporation of air which creates the smooth textures and authentic flavors of the regions. Ice cream was yummy in my tummy and it gives me an excuse to hang out more down in this area for great ice creams The Mission has a number of excellent ice cream, all different in their own ways. In the old days they used to have Chimney Cone in 2017 but I never had a chance to try it. I am sure it tasted good, but it must have been labor intensive and they are a small shop. But their main selling point is focusing on the ice cream unique flavors that rotate.
