I'm so excited that this Vietnamese spot opened in San Marcos! As much as I love a good bánh mì, I'm even more excited about the assortment of grab-and-go items they offer. It's not often you find specialties like bánh ít trần, bánh bèo, bánh giò, and bánh pâté sô all in one place. I didn't grow up eating Vietnamese food, so it's been really fun discovering dishes beyond the more mainstream bánh mì and phở. Having these traditional grab-and-go options makes it easy to try something new each visit. Please don't ever get rid of the grab-and-go selection--that's honestly my main reason for coming here! I'm so excited that San Marcos finally has a legit bánh mì spot. We've really been lacking a good Vietnamese bánh mì shop in north county, and this place is exactly what I've been hoping for. I grew up in Little Saigon in OC, so I definitely don't take bánh mì lightly. This is the first place around here where I can honestly say I'd bring my picky Vietnamese father without being worried he'd be disappointed... and that's saying a lot. I ordered a #2 Grilled pork! The bread is perfectly crispy, the ratio to bread, pickled carrots, butter and pork are text book. I also grabbed the Bánh Bèo in the pre packed section and wow the flour cakes are soo pillowy and perfect! You can tell they care about the food and aren't cutting corners on quality. Super clean and modern inside, everyone was so friendly and welcoming. I'm so happy I can expose my son to his culture with real Vietnamese food in our own neighborhood! Love love love this place! It's nice to have a place so close to home that has woven noodles, vermicelli bowls, and banh mi at an affordable price. I also love these little chicken puff pastry things they have that are a cheap snack! I'm proud (and slightly embarrassed) to say I went 4 times in one week to try a bunch of stuff, and to satisfy my cravings for my usual banh mi order. My go to is the pork belly woven rice special, or the cha lua banh mi. My husband loves their spring rolls they have out, and they also have a variety of other grab and go stuff. It's also cool that they sell the mayo and pickled veggies you find inside a typical banh mi. Oh, and they have a variety of fresh croissants (ham and cheese, cream cheese, chocolate, etc.). OMG! This place is DANGEROUS! It's going to get me so fat because it's the closest to authentic Vietnamese sandwiches we're gonna get here in SM. I LOVE that they opened, we much much needed this in our thriving San Marcos community. Can you tell that I love this for us?! We came several times since their grand opening week. We've gotten their Viet coffee, their crispy pork sandwich (add egg for breakfast), banh bao, banh hoi heo quay (woven noodles with crispy pork), nem chua and their premade Vietnamese pickles. Nothing was a disappointment. Their sandwich's are stuffed with meats too. We still need to try their dac biet and their thit nuong. You can also get a loaf of cha lu too! Which is freshly made. Their breads are also freshly made there and it doesn't cut the roof of your mouth. LOVE IT. We've been waiting for an authentic banh mi place since moving to San Marcos 2.5 years ago. We used to go to Banh Mi San Marcos but they so stingy with meat, it's not even funny. Thank you for opening and we hope that it stays for good. It's me again...ur picky ass Asian friend who moved to the suburbs. TLDR: ONE OF THE BEST bánh mì places in SD and one of the very few Viet places that serve equally delicious CHICKEN egg rolls and patê sô (instead of the usual pork). They also have party trays and delicious frozen versions that you can grab! Had their bánh hoỉ w/heo quay (roasted pork w/rice noodles) and the roasted pork (aka lechon) was super crispy and flavorful. Definitely recommended! When I heard a new bánh mì place opened up in SM, I didn't have high hopes but always have to at least try. So I went...saw that it was Paris Sandwiches and immediately thought there was NO WAY that my fave spot in Mira Mesa just opened up down the street from me. BUT as soon as I stepped inside and saw the beautiful smile of one of my fave people working at the register, I immediately realized it was indeed THE Paris Sandwiches and got dumb EXCITED! Everyone probably thought I was crazy bc my voice must've went up 3 octaves telling the cashier how happy I was ...seeing her familiar face and realizing I didn't have to drive to Mira Mesa for the closest Viet cafe really made my day! San Marcos and North County in general does not have a lot of great options when it comes to getting a banh mi to go. The establishment is nice and clean, their menu is still in the works because of them being so new but they've got so many options already available. Sandwiches, egg rolls, pastries, a to-go fridge and so much more. The lady taking my order was very welcoming. I ordered two sandwiches, some egg rolls, and of course a coffee. The sandwiches are a good value, and a good size. I got a chicken and a beef. They were both delicious, however my chicken sandwich had a lot of mayo and it was a bit overpowering which is my only complaint. Egg rolls were crispy and filling. The coffee did what it needed to do... I couldn't sleep until 3 am lol. All in all, this is a solid addition to our food scene in San Marcos! I will definitely be a frequent flier. read more

I was excited to order as I've heard good things about other locations. I ordered a banh mi with egg added with extra mayo. I recieved an ice cold sandwich with cold pre-cooked eggs and zero mayo. Super disappointing. I don't know if it's growing pains because they just opened or if this is standard. I'm so happy to have a classic Vietnamese bánh mì spot now in San Marcos. We came here on a whim because my husband and I were hungry. The cashier was friendly and helpful. She was quick to answer any questions I had and the order went smoothly. The food was prepared in no time! The person making the food was also prepping the food you can get on the cart which shows how fresh it is. The store was clean and organized. The items they offer besides what you can order are clearly labeled in their appropriate sections. The seating area was very clean as well. I got the pandan layered dessert and banana leaf wrapped sticky rice with pork and mung bean (triangle shape). My husband got the grilled pork bánh mì. Everything was tasty! The pandan layered dessert: $3.25 - nice chew, just enough sweetness, good texture contrast between the layers, fun to peel apart if you'd like as well. Banana leaf wrap: ~$2.50 - I was surprised to see red beans mixed in with the rice. The parts with just rice and red bean were slightly bland, but once I got to the mung bean and pork, it was full of flavor. It was a good portion as well for the price. Grilled pork bánh mì: ~$7.50 - solid bánh mì, very crisp baguette, flavorful pork, very fresh veggies. The pickled carrots and radish were firm, not over pickled, and were seasoned well. The price is good for the quality and size of the sandwich. Overall, I'm definitely coming back to try more of their offerings. I came during the grand opening and had a great experience with the baguette and sugarcane juice, which is why I came back today. Unfortunately, today was disappointing. I ordered 3 sugarcane juices with light ice and confirmed it twice, but all the cups came out almost half full of ice. When I asked them to fix it, I saw one of the employees using a ladle to scoop the ice out of the same cups instead of pouring the drinks into new cups or remaking them completely. That honestly made me uncomfortable and gave me concerns about food safety and drink handling. Also, the drink portions were not consistent compared to my first visit. Last time the cups were filled to the top with the same order, but this time we received much less actual drink even with light ice. I understand every store may have different policies regarding drink portions and ice levels, but customers should at least be informed clearly. I really wanted to continue supporting this place because my first experience was so positive, but today was disappointing. Hopefully management can improve consistency, communication, and food handling practices moving forward. read more
