This was the best food and customer service experience I've had in a while. I was with someone who is like me and likes to try a bunch of stuff so I was able to split a lot and taste a lot. It was fabulous! There wasn't a bad dish. My favorite was the Park Panzanella salad. A perfect blend of ingredients to have a sweet and savory salad. I wish I could recreate this at home, but I know it wouldn't be as good. The Chicken Cacciatore and the Bucatini Carbonara were good too. Don't love peas and there were a lot, so that's why it wasn't my number one dish of this meal. Desserts were heavenly. We also had the Cherry dessert which I didn't get a photo of. At the end I was stuffed but in such a good way. I didn't feel heavy which is how you know the ingredients are good. I will be visiting this place often. read more

The Maurice salad was fantastic. They should serve it with a popover to really make the classic Hudson salad. They added extra chicken for protein which was different but I enjoyed it. This review is for the bar, a fabulous cocktail called the Dancing Bee and a wonderful bartender, Katie. Arrived early for a private event in the hotel so I could experience the hotel since I have never been here before. During the holidays, this hotel is simply enchanting, (see pics), and sets the mood for a fabulous experience. I'd checked out the cocktail menu before arriving and had planned on The Dancing Bee: Patron Reposado, lime juice, Chamomile Yuzu Shrub, Passion fruit, Yellow Chartreuse shaken and poured over one large piece of hand cut ice. ($14 and worth it!). It was wise of Katie to tell me it had two shots of tequila... I'd had figured it out if I'd thought about it, but who thinks of such things while enjoying.. I appreciate that tip because I immediately reminded myself that I could thoroughly enjoy it without finishing the whole thing. (I had an event in 20 minutes and I'm driving tonight as well!) Friendly service and seemingly happy people all around.. that's really the most important thing when it comes to a second visit so I appreciate that the vibe followed through from the holiday decor. read more

My server was excellent, and used, "my pleasure" instead of "you're welcome" for almost each time I thanked her for bringing me something. Masks are required until you are seated at your table. Menus are a QR scan away. Brunch offerings were excellent and I had a bloody mary, a coffee and the Country Breakfast with Rosemary Potatoes, 2 eggs, and a choice of meat. Came back sooner than I thought for an early dinner with a friend - we arrived around 2:30 and the inside was completely empty but we wanted to sit outside since it was such a beautiful day out (89 degrees Fahrenheit!). There were 2 tables already seated outside but everything else was pretty empty. I ran into an old friend as well who was dining which was a nice surprise. We sat at one of the tables with an umbrella and used the QR code on the table to look at the menus. I ordered a margarita which was far superior to the margaritas I had last time here. My friend ordered a mocktail called sparkling blueberry mint which I tried and tasted more like a mojito but was pretty good and she enjoyed it too. For an appetizer we split the calamari which I've previously had and already was a fan of (make sure to ask for no tentacles). It was hot and fresh, and I wish I ordered an additional to take home for later. The lemon was fresh and the sauce was amazing. For dinner I had the roast chicken which was absolutely delicious, the tricolor carrots in the marsala wine pan sauce was so good. I ate almost every last bite off the plate. The mashed potatoes were good as well but nothing out of this world. My friend got the "Loch Duart Atlantic Salmon" and she said it was very good. The cherry tomatoes it came with squirted all over her when she went to pick one up, she said she wished they almost weren't cooked but her salmon was fresh and super hot and she enjoyed it. Our server Ellie I believe, maybe Elle was her name was very attentive and quick, she got the order right and any issues or questions we had she resolved them quickly. Thanks again! I really enjoyed the appetizer, dinner, salad, dessert and drinks with my friend's at Park 600. We started with the brussel sprouts along with the bread, both were delicious. We ordered drinks, I had the grapefruit rose martini and it was amazing, perfectly balanced. We shared the candied beet salad it was so fresh and very tasty. We always enjoy dining at Park 600, our favorite thing to do is sit outside. It's an absolutely beautiful view of the river on a nice evening. I got married at the Royal Park Hotel in August and everyone was blown away by the food. This was amazing food, not what you'd expect at a wedding, even at a high end place like this. It was exceptional. We have been visiting the restaurant regularly ever since. I was disappointed that the items served at the wedding, specifically the tenderloin with mushroom Demi glacé is not available at the restaurant. Same with the chicken with dried cherry and port. We really wanted more of those, but apparently you have to throw a wedding to get those items. Food at Park 600 is exceptional, very expensive but worth it. Odd atmosphere. Casual, half the tables are out in a hallway. It is Part hotel bar/ brew house but the upscale food seems out of place with the surroundings. They've been struggling with service, like everyone these days but never had any major problems. Menu is seafood heavy, which I don't eat, but there are a handful of options that feature steak and chicken. The beignets are fabulous! If you are too full, take them to go! Never had anything here that wasn't wonderful. My favorite, chicken piccata, is not on the new menu. Hoping they bring it back! read more

The food is outstanding. Appetizer delights such as fried cauliflower, blue cheese and caramelized onion dip served with wonderful kettle chips, deviled eggs, excellent olives and flat bread pizza are some appetizer samplers which none would disappoint. I am a big fan of deep dish pizza. I stay away from the usual round and flatlander pizza. Pizza served here? Awesome. It was round and flat- I would come here just for the delight of pepperoni pizza. Quality ingredients are evident with this pie. Sweet sauce, premium pepperoni that curls and nice, crisp crust done right in a stone hearth oven. Dessert- oh my! The pastry chef obviously did not miss any of his classes or show up to class hung over! He is obviously passionate about his craft. Having this wonderful gentleman around my house will be quite dangerous. I can't say enough about the desserts. Presentation and taste were incredible. There's something to cherish when you do not just eat a meal. This is something you actually enjoy. This is one of the few spices in life. I came here for brunch on a Sunday morning and was not at all impressed. Everything was way over priced. I got the French Toast which was surprisingly made with raisin bread. I can make better French Toast at home. I got it without white chocolate so perhaps that could've made it better if you like chocolate. My boyfriend loved his breakfast though. The menu prices were appalling. We have ate at Michelin Star restaurants for far less than this. $20 Cocktails are less than basic, do not recommend. Food was well seasoned, small Portions. Everything tasted great, but the dishes seemed disjointed. Beet Salad - 3/5 Beets didn't seem to present the roasted flavor noted on the menu description. The cheese on it was excellent. White fish pate - 4/5 Just a bit over salted. Jerk Chicken Pizza - 5/5 Chicken Cacciatore - 3/5 Polenta was over cooked and crumbly, not enough sauce that makes the cacciatore. I've reviewed this restaurant before. I always love their calamari. My husband had the pasta with capers, olives, basil, Parmesan and anchovy paste. I tried it and it was very good. I had their special for the evening. It was Chilean Sea Bass on a risotto that had peas and a lemony taste along with the sauce on top of the fish and they put a large shrimp on top of the fish. The Park Hotel seems very classy from outside and rather upscale. The prices in the restaurant are certainly quite high, but the quality and value of the food and the ambiance are not. We were seated at a table in the hallway (yes - the hallway) promptly when we arrived for our reservation. It was very bright, with 15 foot ceilings and a rather sterile feeling, with numerous people using the hallway for what it was designed for - moving to other parts of the building. This set-up didn't appear to be unusual for this evening, as there were several parties sitting at tables in the cold, soul-less space. The wines by the glass were mostly unimpressive, but the cabernet by Justin was OK. The steak frites was $42 and included a piece of strip steak and a container of fries. I've had many good versions of this dish. This was not one of them. The steak was only of adequate quality and the fries were boring. For the price, it would have been nice to get a vegetable too. The other dish was sea bass over squash risotto. That was tastier, yet at $49 not that tasty. At these prices, you would think there would be an amuse buche or some bread, or even water. Nope, just silverware wrapped in a paper napkin like you get at a bar. Even though we noted in the reservation that we were celebrating a birthday, alas there was no birthday treat either. read more

I came here for a work lunch with a few colleagues. I got Bev's Chopped Cobb salad because it looked like the most filling pescatarian/veggie option on the menu. The lunch was going to be on the company tab so I thought I would splurge and get avocado added on (for 4 dollars). I considered getting the Salmon but it was an extra 14 dollars, which I thought was highway robbery, even for the company tab. The salad was criminally underdressed, though I did hit a pocket of dressing at one point, but it was not nearly enough to make up for the general lack in the rest of the salad. Whoever dressed the salad did so haphazardly and conservatively. The avocado add on also left something to be desired. It was overripe and barely half of an avocado, not worth the 4 extra dollars to be honest. The portion size was good though, and the veggies were fresh. I was able to get full off of the meal and even have a small bit of leftovers, which I ate later with the extra salt and pepper because of the lack of dressing. In the future I will opt for no add on, and ask for an extra (hopefully complimentary) side of dressing. read more

Overpriced, flavorless, unimpressive food. For a "high-end" hotel. It clearly seems like the kitchen staff is amateur at most. My family (party of 10) went to Park 600, 3 times over a couple months when out of town relatives were visiting; once for dinner and twice in the early afternoon. I mention the time of day as the experience may be reflective of the kitchen staff at that time of the day. Each visit went down a star in food quality/value. The most recent visit was for Saturday brunch before Easter. My initial impression of the menu selection for brunch during the holiday weekend, was unimpressed. There was very little as I recall different or special about the menu. Three of us at the table ordered the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich. The sandwich lacked any flavor indicating the chicken was not brined or seasoned appropriately, the batter looked more like a flour and bread crumb coating resembling a filet-o-fish patty, the sauce, if there was much, lacked flavor and depth (might have been just a basic mayo). Even something as casual as a chicken sandwich should blow my mind at a restaurant like Park 600. We ate everything because we were clearly hungry, but especially considering how overpriced the food is, made the experience even worse. Additionally, my wife's salad with salmon lacked flavor too. Check your kitchen staff and assure the chef is tasting their prep and seasoning. We will not be returning for our next large gathering. read more

I came here for Saturday brunch. There is a limited brunch menu and not too many options. I ordered the raspberry lemon French toast which was made from kugelhopf bread. It was really good and filling. My friend and I split acarafe of mimosas which I wouldn't recommend since it was mostly filled with ice. I also got a sangria that had blackberries and oranges infused in it that I really liked too Our server was very attentive and friendly. Stopped in for dinner on a Friday night and no reservation was needed. Dining area is pretty spacious and nicely decorated. Clean and a modern vibe inside. The menu is a decent size, not a ton of choices but they do have daily specials as well. We ended up splitting a Cobb salad and a Greektown pizza. The entree size salad is definitely shareable. The pizza tasted good however it was unusually difficult to cut with a knife although it is a very thin crust. I'm not sure if it was cooked too long but we ended up just eating it by hand. I'm so happy to say that the menu and the food is so much better now. My husband and I had a lovely night out last weekend. They have a delicious grilled watermelon and burrata salad. Honestly, I didn't have high hopes for the burrata. It's very rare to find good burrata, but their burrata was one of the best I have had in the states. They serve it with crispy prosciutto, a great combination. We also ordered the calamari app, served with a saffron curry sauce. It was pretty good, a little on the heavy side, but it's a great dish to split. We ordered the mussels, served with a delicious garlic baguette. Royal Park has definitely improved their dishes...Keep it up! During my last visit, the menu offered a few new items. The veggie cheeseburger aka the "Impossible Burger" may be more flavorful than a regular burger. I can't wait to eat this again. Disappointed that I have to write this review. The food was good, but the service was unacceptable. I dined here the night before my bridal shower (which was held at the hotel the next day). What was supposed to be a low key dinner with me and my friend, turned into a 3.5 hour event. I expressed my concerns to the waiter, and two managers. Each one was ruder than the next. I also mentioned that I understand staffing issues are occurring everywhere, and I gave them grace for that. However, I am truly taken back by the unaccountability on their end and the lack of respect I received from every worker I encountered at this hotel, from the doorman, the waiter, and multiple managers. They brought out the wrong appetizer after already waiting 30 minutes, then we had to wait another 30 minutes to flag someone down and for them to bring the right one out. My cucumber martini had no cucumber in it. It tasted like straight vodka with a cucumber garnish. I asked for a side of muddled cucumber and then I still had to ask for a side of simple syrup. You would think after watching me create my own cocktail at the table they would at least offer to bring me a different drink. After spending thousands of dollars on a shower, we still never received even a phone call after talking to 2 different restaraunt managers and 2 hotel managers. They also said they would reimburse us for part of our meal but they did not do so. Would not recommend dining here ever and I will never have another event at this hotel. **edit. I can't begin to say enough positive things about Park 600. Whenever I am in the area, this is a must stop for me. This was a special trip as we are planning a small celebration for "birthday" month. Tim, the bartender was absolutely amazing. We were looking forward to some holiday drinks they make every year. Unfortunately, due to Covid so many things are hard to find in order to make their specialty drinks. We really enjoy the cranberry mules this time of year, but they were all out of their homemade cranberry mixture for the mules, but that didn't stop us from enjoying. Tim introduced us to his manager and we spent some time talking. We are inquiring about the snow globe rentals for our celebration This is a new thing for Park this year and they are amazing. I can't wait for the snow to fall...they will be mesmerizing. Rental fee is $150 and there is a specialty menu for the snow globes. The globes will fit up to 6 people. Mike Crank is the catering manager and helps with all the details. I can't wait for January to ring in the new 2021....and out with 2020!!!! read more

Had a reservation yesterday for holiday tea (which needs to be cancelled 1 week in advance) with my mom and sister. Reservation was for 1:30 and we weren't seated until 1:45. Didn't realize they were seating everyone at the same time and there were only two servers for nearly 10 tables. The food was already on the table, most of which was stale. The "warm" appetizers that were brought to us were cold and brought out before we were given water or spoken to by a server. It took 45 minutes for us to be given anything to drink even after asking. The tea was brought to our table and told it needed to steep for 5 minutes, so we continued to sit there waiting. Royal Park used to regularly have a tea service which was very nice, which I made this reservation. Everything about this experience was a complete let down. It was well over $200 for three people, and for that price I expected a nice experience - but this wasn't it. It appears another poster had the same experience a few weeks ago, so if you have reservations for holiday tea this year, save your money. read more

We enjoyed a lovely Saturday evening dinner here on a rainy fall evening. The restaurant is located in the Royal Park Hotel. Valet service is mostly a necessity here as parking is limited. The valet was quick to take our car and direct us to the restaurant. The entryway and hall are open and beautiful. There is also a library full of art books with comfortable seating. The restaurant is open with high ceilings. There is a bar in the center and pizza oven in the back. More seating off to right, which can be closed off or separated for a party. The restaurant is well-ventilated, perhaps a bit too much so for the fall as I sat under a drafty vent. Service was good. Our waiter was mostly attentive, but a bit absent minded about water, important since we weren't drinking anything else. Also, at a table near us some younger teenagers showed up, not realizing the prices of the menu, but not wanting to leave. Their waitress was so thoughtful and considerate. She gently herded them to the most filling, shareable, reasonably priced items, and they were thrilled with themselves, their meal, and the final price. I appreciated that interaction, as it sho Ed some sensitivity and good instruction or instinct on the part of the waitress. Back to our meals, we started with the calamari which was well-cooked. I haven't had calamari this perfect in some time. It was paired with an overly sweet papaya ketchup. I would have preferred a more savory sauce, but the calamari stood on its own without it. We both had the trout for dinner. The fish itself was beautifully cooked, not overdone, not chewy. It was gently seasoned. The vegetables and potatoes were rich in flavor and rounded out the dish. We closed our meal with a carrot cheesecake which was served with some ice cream. I was full by then. The taste that I tried was rich, but just so-so to my tastebuds. We enjoyed a fairly relaxed meal, though I expect it would have been rushed if the place were busier. I have been here multiple times for dinner, and it has always been good. This time we got the 600 burger, and the tuna poke stack. I really enjoy this burger. It is always cooked to perfection, and the toppings are great. They used to put a bacon jam on it, which seriously made the burger top-notch, but they changed it. The sweet potato fries are worth the two dollar upgrade. Order them extra crispy and they come out perfect. The tuna was a little bit questionable. However I liked that there was a layer of crab in the middle, which is unusual for tuna poke shack, and the fries chips were great. Cucumbers a little unnecessary for the dish. Kathy our server did not seem like she knew what she was doing. She was nice, but took a while with everything, especially the bill. We also wanted to try the royal tower and the Ferrero cake for dessert, but they took them off the menu, even though they are on the menu online. Hopefully they bring a good dessert back. read more

My wife and I had an incredible experience at Park 600 for Father's Day. We took my father there and David waited on us, and I can honestly say he was the biggest reason why our experience was as great as it was. He was thorough, made sure our orders were perfect, and checked on us constantly without being overbearing. Employees like David make a business successful, and we'll definitely be returning there soon. As for the food, we were more than satisfied. Their Brisket Pizza was fantastic, and the salmon in my Caesar salad was blackened to perfection. The chocolate caramel cake and beignets we ordered for dessert were also delicious. If you go to Park 600, I have three recommendations. First, if you enjoy wine, take your own bottle. There is a $25 cork charge. The wines we enjoy were very over priced. A bottle we enjoy was $140. We get the same bottle at another restaurant for $99. We did not enjoy the bottle we paid $64 for and saw it at Sam's Club for $9.43. Second, do sit outside; it is a wonderful patio. Third, order a loaf of their bread and dipping oil. It was fresh baked and had wonderful seasoning. The other food we ordered was average. I really want to go back with my own wine and enjoy a couple loafs of bread. I will be sure to do this at a slower part of the day as our check will only come to $35 and I don't want to take up a table during their peak time. read more

I called back to confirm and the person seemed apathetic about my extra efforts to call again to confirm reservation, that process was a bit too much :/ Party of 2. Our server was great! Attentive and kind. I ate the vegetarian sandwich. I was not expecting it to be as good as it was! The vegetables were plentiful, cheese melted just right and the bread was warm and toasted- delectable! Dessert was a seasonal tart- oh my goodness the layers of flavor. Yes please! Tried my dining friends's beignets with sauces- I'd eat a whole meal of these, everyday, if only there were no calories. I love a nice atmosphere, but not boujee, which I was concerned about here. We started with an appetizer of the calamari and wow was it good! Probably some of the best calamari I have had. It was lightly breaded and served with Asian spices and sauces. Service has gotten way better than what it has been in the past! I love this place for a low key Friday night dinner. Their stone pizza oven is awesome too if you are looking for a pizza.
