We had a delicious Sunday breakfast at Downtown Café. My boyfriend even said, this is his "favorite breakfast in Michigan!" We got the apple pancakes, bacon, hashbrowns, and the florentine omelette. The service was top-notch and our server was very attentive and sweet. The vibes are so cozy and up-northy. We will be back!!

I swear I've written a review for this place, but when I checked, nothing showed up. It's been a long time since I've eaten here, and the food was really good. A bit on the pricey side, but well worth the few extra dollars. I was here early on a Sunday morning and I was one of the few people in here, so it was easy to get a seat. Menu's pretty decent and the server was fantastic; one of the better one's I've had in some time. Anyway, I went with the corned beef hash and it was really good. Fresh off the grill hot and well presented. Bill was about $17 before tip, and I enjoyed my time here. It's located right next to Sargent appliance off old town road near the library, so it was reasonably easy to find. Parking was okay, a bit tight but my car isn't that huge, so it was a bit easier to get in and out. Will be back at some point in the future.

Delightful hole in the wall - seems the clientele were all local as the staff seemed to know everyone. Chicken salad with walnuts and Michigan cherries was really good. Prompt service. Local gem.

The place is small, very small so very packed. Chances are good you will wait for a table. I had a cup of chicken noodle soup that was rather bland and an outstanding Cobb Salad that came with like a banana or carrot bread, I couldn't quite figure out what it was. Service was decent.

Great breakfast / brunch place. Small cozy dining room but COLD when door opens in winter. Excellent friendly service. Fast and hot. Sit Outside in good weather! Specials looked amazing! I ordered a poached egg over hard and almost no one actually cooks it hard but it was perfect!

It was bit cold inside but since it was so hot outside, I was still happy about it. We were a large party and came by with no reservations but as it was a Monday, we didn't have to wait at all and were seated right away. I didn't catch the name of the server (I forgot her name) but she was fantastic. She was attentive, friendly, and ---as a person who works in hospitality, I know how difficult it can be to serve a table of 3 adults and 6 children but she was a pro. She gave great recommendations, was very sweet with the kids, checked up on us regularly and made the entire experience awesome. The food itself was amazing. They have quite a variety of things and I chose to have the Mushroom Benedict ($17) and it came with a side (I chose a side of roasted potatoes). I haven't been to Michigan in 9 years and I live in Los Angeles so these prices are very reasonable and even cheap considering what I'm used to paying for brunch back home. I didn't have any drinks but saw they have a full bar. When I'm back in town, this is definitely a place I would love to come back to.

We texted our friends our order and were 20 minutes out when the table was ready. They refused to seat our group, demanding we all be there because the table would then be taken up too long (even though our friends had our order and food takes time to cook ANYWAYS). We got to the restaurant and ended up waiting another hour just to be able to get a table that we had been waiting for an insanely long amount of time. There is no flexibility, humanity, or understanding with this restaurant. Only robots who "have policies" and are "sorry - that's just the way things are." Honestly, McDonald's is better at this point. At least the food is on par with the shit service at McDonald's. No point in nice breakfast if the people aren't even.kind

I believe both are remade from former churches (at least Saint 1881 was). RBH has an airy, modern feel with modern chandeliers with a decor that reminds me of an upscale hotel, but still manages to be casual and comfortable. My only drawback was the noise level. With the tall ceilings it was quite loud. It isn't he largest of places, but not a cafe either. Service was excellent, though it was difficult to hear our soft spoken hostess and server. Our server was friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Street parking is available, along with a couple nearby parking lots, but they are metered (free on Sundays). My wife wasn't very hungry so she opted for the Chia Pudding and had my toast. Myself, I went for the Chicken Scramble, and it was next level for a scrambled egg dish. Whatever the seasoning was it was absolutely unique and delicious. I couldn't quite make out what it was. We willl be back and absolutely try some other items on the menu. They have a bar area to sit at along with plenty of tables which we got to choose from when seated. I love how it's decorated here, it really added to the ambience. I went with the Huervos Rancheros and my mom got a veggie omelet. Both had generous portions and overall, were quite good. My mom enjoyed her meal and I tried her diced potatos. They were good but could've used some seasoning. My Huevos Rancheros was good, but a bit on the colder side, like it had been out for a while. I will say, they were able to substitute the Chirizo with Chicken, which was just okay. Not bad, just average. Overall I enjoyed my time here and the prices match the food portions along with the ambiance of the place. Staff is very friendly and professional, and it was really good food.

I live out in the Lansing area and met a friend who had the same thoughts about Paul's as we did, but picked it for its parking and easy to navigate location on a Saturday night in December. We were all so pleasantly surprised -- I'm writing from the following morning and I'm still amazed at the change of this place! I ordered a couple apps -- the Brussels sprouts and the boom boom shrimp. The Brussel sprouts were a touch over for me with the meat not quite being crispy enough, but that didn't stop the rest of my table from finishing them. The boom boom shrimp was delicious -- I found the spice-level completely appropriate for something I'm expecting to have 'a touch of spice' while my husband found zero spice. Would order the shrimp again. They did away with the breadbasket of yesteryears and switched to real, cut, French bread with whipped butter! I had the French onion soup which came last to the table and I wasn't mad at that as it was HOT -- thank you! My friend ordered the tuna on sourdough which was perfect with beautifully crispy fries. And my husband ordered a giant burger, that had the perfect cook on it! Overall, we had a lovely time. The wait staff were also extremely delicate and respectful in nudging us to let us know there was a massive line waiting for our table (something we didn't realize as we were chatting and catching up).
