Drafts were on HH special as well as the house marg. The tacos were really impressive - the meat was juicy, flavorful, and tender. Each has a distinct flavor profile and is dressed differently. But, super duper runny/liquidy, watch your clothes! The margs were good. It's a small little spot but I think it's cozy and reliable for knowing what to expect. Since my diagnosis last year, I haven't been able to go out and enjoy Denver as much as I would have liked. Yesterday was the first time I went out for brunch in months, and Park Avenue Tacos did not disappoint. I had their huevos rancheros for brunch, and it was absolutely delicious! My wife and friends had the chilaquiles, and they were tasty as well. The service was great, and sitting outside on a beautiful day was a very welcome change, especially after being indoors for so long. Going forward, I am going to make it a habit to go out every weekend and enjoy Denver and its new restaurants. I had a great time at Park Avenue Tacos and truly enjoyed their food. read more

i'm only giving two stars cause i had enchiladas and not tacos so maybe that's where i went wrong but i think this places sucks. The guy working the bar was snarky, short and rude. The enchiladas red sauce is the grossest thing i've ever tasted. We came here on a Friday night and it was pretty busy at 6pm! They have happy hour that goes until 7pm which is amazing. I ordered their house Marg, it was pretty strong and I liked it. They offer a Tahin rim which I love. I ordered a combo plate with an enchilada, a Chile relleno, and tamale. It was excellent. All of them. I think my favorite was the tamale. This was a cool spot next to a bar providing some nice options. There is a quaint outdoor patio but we chose to sit at the bar. I had a number of tacos - of which all were good. Absolutely unacceptable experience - avoid at all costs. I visited Park Ave Tacos yesterday expecting a casual meal, but instead I was subjected to one of the most disturbing and blatantly racist encounters I've ever experienced. Shortly after arriving, I was approached by someone who appeared extremely intoxicated or possibly under the influence of drugs. He later turned out to be the owner's son. Without any provocation, he began harassing me with racist and stereotypical remarks - making assumptions about my ethnicity, humming what he claimed were Indian songs, and repeatedly calling me "Kumar" in a mocking tone. I tried to stay calm and asked him to leave me alone, but things escalated quickly. He told me I was "too brown," implied I might be a terrorist, and then picked up my water and drank it--staring me down and asking, "What are you going to do about it, Kumar?" When I reported the incident to the staff, their response was, "That's the owner's son," and nothing was done. I decided to leave, only to find him waiting for me outside, still shouting racial slurs, calling me a terrorist again, and even saying "ICE should come arrest you." I remained calm and got into my car, choosing not to react physically, though the harassment continued right up until I drove off. No one should have to endure this kind of abuse, let alone while patronizing a business. If you enjoy being racially profiled, insulted, and harassed, then maybe this is the place for you. Otherwise, I strongly urge you to stay far away from Park Ave Tacos. Shameful behavior, zero accountability. read more

Always fun and lively. Service is solid, the Tacos were fab - I loovveeddd the carnitas, they were so much more flavorful than the standard bland carnitas you get many places. Tortillas were excellent. Chips and Guac were standard fare. Drinks were average to poor, however. One member of our table had a drink that tasted like it was water, and sent it back. And my first cocktail was fine, but my second one tasted like it was water. I finished it anyway, just assuming ice was melting fast or something, but it's almost like they had a liquor bottle full of water out for bar service training and somehow tossed it on the rail after training and it got confused with alcohol. It was really weird. Kind of a bummer. But overall the place is a good stop, and hasn't stopped being good even though it changed names (and maybe owners?) this taco restaurant was originally Las Margaritas on 17th and Park, and then Las Margs on marion for years. same owners and employees minus one father-in-law who has retired. they've always kept a 4.5 star rating on yelp. the menu's about 85% the same. they still have a Las Margs restaurant in Stapleton. we live within walking distance and this has been our go-to place for about 15 years. whenever we can't decide, this is our default selection. the food is super tasty, the employees are gems. their drinks are strong and cheap, they have new mexico style flat enchiladas with thick dark red chile, they have excellent birria tacos, and chile relleños. Their green chile is solid! they have 5 or 6 beers on tap, try the fried ice cream for dessert. They have excellent happy hour specials, and great brunches. They own the bar next door too. read more

The tacos are good but honestly the star of the restaurant is their margaritas. I can quite honestly say I had the best coconut margarita and the best raspberry margaritas I've ever had in my life there. Better than anything I've tried in Mexico! The fruit flavors are very clean and you can tell they're made with high quality ingredients not just pre processed syrups. What makes their coconut margaritas unique too is that they don't use coconut cream and instead use a coconut infused tequila which makes the drink lighter and refreshing. In terms of tacos we tried the carne asada, tings, fried fish, and al pastor and each were very flavorful. I think my favorite was the fried fish. The service is also great, our waiter was very friendly so definitely recommend eating here. read more

If I could just rate the team at Park Avenue Tacos, I would give them a 5-star. They were friendly, accommodating, and overall nice. We started with basic drinks; margarita and beer. Beer is beer, and the margarita is nothing to talk about, basic. Unfortunately, the food is what has caused a below average rating. We ordered the Queso Dip and Chips. Their menu states that the chips are homemade; the texture and taste of them left me wanting better and had a slightly stale taste. But later, I realized why this was. I had left to use the restroom, which is in the back of the restaurant where the kitchen is. As I approached, outside of the kitchen was an extremely large open-air clear plastic tub filled with their "homemade" tortilla chips. Beside the tub was already pre-filled baskets of their tortilla chips stacked up. I can only imagine how long it had been sitting without them being covered. Now for the Queso; the best way for me to describe the texture and taste is to imagine movie theatre nacho cheese dip that you pump out of a can. Now, if I'm at the movies, I know what I'm going to get. But, when I'm at a restaurant, my expectations are different. The good thing was the restaurant took both the Queso and chips back and removed it from my bill without question. I appreciated that. We also ordered the Burrito bowl with the Carnitas. The bowl came with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheese, refried beans, rice, and green chili on the side. The Carnitas was okay but lacked flavor and was plain tasting. The green chili was good. The refried beans and everything else could have come from Taco Bell, and you would not have known the difference. The atmosphere was nice. We sat outside. Overall, I left disappointed, and I won't be rushing back to this restaurant. My partner and I sat at the bar top and ordered the dip trio with some house margaritas but the bartender (older man) was kind of rude. Every time we said thank you after getting our drinks or food he goes "Mmmhmm..ya..sure" and wasn't friendly... We would have stayed longer if this guy wasn't rude. I came here about 8 months ago and it was great (probably 4.5/5). I just went again and the food quality greatly decreased. A $9 bowl of queso was nacho cheese with some mushy jalapeño slices on it. I absolutely love going to a new restaurant and leaving wishing I could give it 10 stars. Truly a great overall experience. Our waiter, Junior, was helpful & kind. The Michelada (my favorite drink) was the best I've had in Denver. But above all - the food was outstanding. The shrimp tacos & combo #1 were my favorites. Unfortunately, I didn't take pictures of the combo because I was too preoccupied with how amazing everything was on that plate. Park Avenue Tacos is our "go to" neighborhood Mexican restaurant. They always seem to have a special so good prices on beer and marg. I personally love combination 2 and share it with my husband.
