Today, my phone lightly slid across my keyboard and the screen immediately started going haywire with red and green lines before turning completely black. I took it to another repair shop right after, and they told me the screen from the previous repair was a cheap, low-quality part. According to them, when my computer slid across the keyboard it somehow activated an accessibility setting, and the replacement screen couldn't handle it and basically fried. Now I'm stuck paying for another screen replacement only a few months after already spending $350. For that price, I expected quality parts and a repair that would actually last. Instead, I'm dealing with another broken screen and another repair bill because of the cheap product they used. I would not recommend iRepair in La Verne based on my experience.

I texted him informing him it still wasn't holding charge and he offered to take the device for a few days, but by then I no longer felt comfortable handing it over, as if all felt shady. The whole process felt unprofessional from start to finish. And to top it off, I was charged $103 for a repair that clearly wasn't completed. And I get there and the guy asked "did you get a quote" and I said yeah it's for an iPhone 13 Pro Max and so he comes back with a $160 price and I say, I was quoted 99-129 for my model phone. So he says he'll have to call his boss to get it cleared. None of this would matter if the phone worked. But now my eyes hurt from this super bright screen. I'm turning every app into night mode that can. My cellphone brightness is on lowest setting. The guy even made up excuses on why he was charging more like it was a newer better screen from before and they haven't updated the new price. I didn't want to hear it. And the whole "pay in cash." I came to this store for the first time mid-July last month to get my phone port a clean-up, and…read morethey did a good job for $35. However, I had a bad first experience. The first issue I got two different pieces of information regarding the process, with the employee saying they could clean it up in 5 minutes and the manager himself saying it'd take 40 minutes. The second and main issue was that store owner wouldn't release my phone back to me because I didn't have enough money in my card to pay (forgot to deposit some extra cash prior), to which I'll fully say now that I take accountability for not being properly prepared prior. Yet, what made me most livid was the managers extreme hostility and unwillingness to negotiate or allow me to stay in the corner of the store so I could transfer money into my account to pay. He said he'd keep it (for however long though never specified) until I paid that amount in card or brought back $30 cash (his generous offer), to which I had to magically scrape up due to being unable to contact anyone for a loan. At the end of it all, it was THEN that he explained to me that many customers in the past had claimed to briefly "check" their phones for something before paying only to bolt out of the store, to which the manager would have to ultimately pay out of HIS pocket to replace the lost money, despite there being security cameras catching the thieves faces. I just wanted to leave but not without apologizing for my foolishness. All this to say, looking back, I was an idiot 100% and lacked common sense and competence in this situation with no room for empathy or excuses. Honestly, if he wanted to call law enforcement to WATCH me do what I "claimed" to do, then hell we could've done that. It was overall frustrating, but I guess my mom was right. Reading WILL save your life :/
