Park Burger is a local burger place. Street parking only. The place has both inside and outdoor seating. One unisex restroom only. All burgers served with lettuce, tomatoes with aioli, house-made pickles. *The Beast: double beef + double cheese (4/5). I got it cooked medium with grilled onions. The patties were flavorful. The pepper jack cheese was melted and gooey with the carmelized sweet onions on a soft pillowy bun. *King Solomon: fried chicken breast, +bbq ranch sauce (4.5/5). The breast meat was brined and was juicy. This was a good chicken sandwich! French Fries (large): kennebec potatoes, hand cut fries with sea salt (5/5). Thin, crispy, crunchy fries - these were so good! The service was friendly and helpful. He recommended a few of his favorites and/or the popular burgers. Support your local business.

Park Burger has always been a place that delivers good food. I think one thing that I noticed from most patrons is that typically people like to complain about the prices here. Yes, they charge more than most places, but the quality of food here is significantly better than all fast food options as well as most burger joints. This used to be the place that I would go out of my way to bring people that wanted to visit the area and I've always appreciated about the restaurant itself is that it's spacious, clean, and the staff is always been good to me. I wouldn't call myself a regular, but a recurring patron that appreciates their business. If I could recommend any items, I'd highly encourage that you order The Glenview with a side of sweet potato fries and if you have a sweet tooth like me, a milkshake. This location gets a solid 4/5.

Love the variety here! Staff here are so nice and friendly. Plenty of street parking along the street and in front of the store. We ordered at the counter. Their fresh cut fries are sooooo good! Sweet potatoes fries are also really good. I don't love onions but I was a fan of their garlic onion rings. Huge onion rings with a thick batter. We ordered the lamb burger which I love that they serve with arugula. Smash burger with double patty was really good with a nice crisp crust. Their fried chicken burger was really juicy and flavorful. Their chili hotdog with homemade chili was good! Very hearty filled with meat and beans. And omg their Oreo milkshake was delicious! We also ordered their wetter burger with bacon and onions with bbq sauce which was a great burger too! Again loving all the options here. Can't wait to go back with my family again. They

I love this mom and pop shop! The owners are really nice and sweet. The restraunt is a bit dim unless it's sunny outside but that okay. Food wise: I really loved the garlic onion rings! Super flavorful with garlic and would literally one here just for that! They have smash burgers which are really good topped with cheddar cheese! The milkshakes they use high quality ingredients, really smooth and not super thick just the way I like it!

Ordered through uber eats. Nothing special. No extras or even substitutions. After I ordered they added an additional $6 for specialty order. Think they are just testing this scam on some orders to see what they can get away with. Avoid.

We enjoyed grass-fed beef burgers, crispy fries, large onion rings. The kid's meal of two beef sliders, a preferred side and cup of milk is perfect for a toddler who loves hamburgers. I enjoyed a turkey burger without cheese. The other adult enjoyed a salad and a chocolate milk shake. Definitely a good find in Oakland for a casual lunch.

WHEN: Sunday @5pm ***During Covid-19**** It was easy placing an order over the phone with them. Gotta start with the basics since it's my first time. Otherwise the menu looks exciting with all the variety of burger! Here's what I ordered: CLASSIC BURGER w/CHEESE - $10 All served with lettuce, tomatoes & house made garlic infused aioli. Onions/house made pickled red onions available upon request. Patties are 1/3rd of a pound, cooked medium, unless requested otherwise. I can see what people mean about the soggy buns cuz of how juicy the beef patty is. I don't mind it so much. This burger is pretty darn tasty with everything I like! SAMPLER - $11 French fries + sweet potato fries + onion rings. I don't like Sweet Potatoes Fries so when I told them I didn't want that it looks like they just replaced it with more French fries. Both the French fries and onion rings were pretty good! Definitely fresh and LOTS of it! Good one to share! I really enjoyed Park Burger and look forward to ordering again!

Now, I read that this iconic Oakland Top Dog location is closing soon, due to a dispute with the new landlord. I figured I better get over her quick before it closes for good. https://www.sfgate.com/food/article/berkeley-top-dog-closing-oakland-location-21102867.php My Oakland guide, who grew up as a child in this Lakeshore Area, tells me of the old days here right at this location where the Top Dog is. It used to be a restaurant called Edy's and they had the best lime freezes. His mother used to take him here in the 1960's! I can't believe that was over 60 years ago! This Top Dog has been here for a long time, around 21 years. The little alley way that has an entrance to the Top Dog, now goes to Trader Joes, but he tells me that used to be a Lucky grocery store before. The parking structure wasn't there either. My guide is a long time Top Dog fan, from the original Berkeley locations. He even made friends with the girl cook at the north Berkeley location and ended up getting free hot dogs! He says the prices sure have gone up since the 70's ... a Kielbasa was just 70 cents! That's $4.50 now! This location runs like most locations, you just tell the cook what you want and the sausages are already cooked or cooking on the flat top grill. The buns get heated there too and then you have condiments to add. I've been a fan of Top Dog, more the Berkeley location, but it's sad to see this location close. Soon, it will just be the original Berkeley location open at the south campus.

I wasn't looking for a Coney dog when I decided to stop by at Kasper's with a 'K'. I'm surprised I had never been here because it's in Oakland's familiar Dimond district. Kasper's is housed in a cool, mid-century vintage standalone building and has a parking lot like most fast food eateries back sometime in the last century. There were two people behind the counter, both obvious veterans who split responsibilities between dressing the dogs and handling the register. The menu was pretty straightforward: nine different dogs and a chili bowl plus soft drinks and fizzes. I was hoping they might have a Chicago dog but no such luck. Instead I went for the $7.39 Quarter Pound Dog with Chili ($1.29), Cheese ($0.99), and Diced Onion (free). So kinda like a Coney but not quite. Still quite tasty and filling as it was an all-beef dog with a massive amount of chili (photo: https://yelp.to/nG4KKo0L6Y). I dared to get a $1.69 bag of chips and a $3.05 Diet Coke, but in hindsight, I should've gone for an Orange Fizz to evoke my Orange Julius-filled childhood. I used to love those. The menu is stacked with standard bar fare, with pizza, hotdogs, fries, etc. A sizable beer selection that seems to draw in the nightly usuals. The service was not majorly terrible. Some staff members looked rather bored. I didn't order alcohol. I just wanted to eat. I chose a chili cheese dog, which included Garlic fries. I paid $14, after tip. The large portions are appreciated. Really wished it all had been yummy. I can't say that it was tasty, and memorably delicious. It looked more appetizing than it actually tasted. Which is not great. The chili was not flavorful, and it was almost cold. Not warmed up first, just slapped on top of the dog. Which made for a strange eating experience. Normally the chili is the hottest part of that particular item. A toasted bun (which is preferable) may have made a difference. The dog itself wasn't terrible. The fries were attractive. I'm into the shoestring potatoes. I was not wowed when it came to the taste. Not a huge deal. I probably should've ordered a slice of pizza, which they may be kind of popularly known for. When I am near, in downtown Oakland, I can do a round 2. They stay open really late. I was eyeballing the garlic knots, with a side of marinara. That probably would've been a hit with me or better yet the Mozz sticks. I love those.
