I have wanted to try Park Burger for awhile and was excited to check them out this week. We ordered a cheeseburger with blue cheese, the lamb burger and garlic fries for take out. When I entered the restaurant, I loved the vibe and thought the table signs for orders were a fabulous touch of areas within Oakland (e.g. Maxwell Park, Laurel a Heights, Redwood Heights, etc.). I was impressed to see the food held up well in transport home. The lamb burger was delicious and perfectly cooked. The cheese burger with blue cheese was generous on the condiments. If you love blue cheese, it's perfect however I felt it was a bit overwhelming. Don't get me wrong, it was fantastic but I had to scrape off a bit of the cheese so that I could taste the beef. I prefer a balance of beef and blue cheese. The garlic fries was seasoned with garlic and Parmesan and was tasty. I'm so glad that Park Burger is in Oakland and will definitely be coming back soon. Best burger place in Oakland hands down. I got the impossible burger with pickled red onions and added cheese. The garlic aioli they use is FIRE. I asked for another one to try and I got the sweet spicy aioli and it was amazing too. Don't order on a delivery app. They are great local business. I called and ordered ahead for pickup. I love Park Burger. Best burger spot ever!!! They have amazing fried chicken sandwiches and salads and the staff is so cool and sweet.

We like Park Burger and want to support a local restaurant. Their salads are particularly good. But tonight service was definitely off. We are generally pretty patient but we had to ask for our order to be corrected more than once and after waiting at least 30 min for a milkshake, my husband went to ask about it only to be reprimanded/yelled at that they were very backed up. Strange that people who came in 15 minutes after us had their shake. We did get all of our food, and we all enjoyed it but I think they need to work on their customer service. Ugh. I wish I could love this place. It's so close to my house, but every time I go, I find myself so disappointed. Today was no different. The food is mediocrely OK. Service is seemingly fine. I got a bacon burger most recently & just didn't enjoy it; I finished it but for the price it's not worth it. The fries are definitely the best part (I enjoyed them a lot!). The bun on my burger was a little stale, & the meat itself was not good. Bacon seemed as though it was cooked earlier in the day. Last time I went, I got a hot dog (being from Chicago my standards may be high) and that was not good... I remember that I didn't even finish it; I was hoping today would be different. I'll probably go back for fries and shakes (which I believe they have & my friend said was good!). Would love to see them revamp their burgers and hot dogs in the future. read more

Wow, it had been a while since I had been here, and on the way there I was extolling the virtues of the place. Boy, was I embarrassed. We got our food to go and everything seemed straight forward - 3 cheeseburgers and a large fries, to go. The wait was short, and the food packaged well. When we got home to eat though, I was disappointed. The burgers had no condiments on them, the lettuce was from the base of the head, and there were no onions. The burgers were pretty tasteless and disappointing. Not juicy or flavorful, just bland patties. The fries were okay, but what should have been the star of the show, the burger, fell flat. When I got home, I called them to see if leaving off the condiments was standard practice or a mistake. I was asked if I could hold for a moment, and said yes. As I write this, no one has come back to the phone and it has been over twenty minutes now. I am tempted to see how long it will be before someone picks up the phone (I hung up at 30 minutes). I did call back again, and apparently it was an error to not add some garlic aioli to the buns, which would have helped, and I was informed that you have to request onions if you want them (and it would have been helpful for the server to inquire "would you like onions on these?" which didn't happen). For $12 bucks a burger, you can do better elsewhere. Sorry, but even though I love supporting neighborhood restaurants, I won't be back. read more

The burger came as delivery. 1st of all the lettuce and tomato were on the burger & when it arrived the flimsy tiny piece of lettuce and tomato were as thin as translucent rice paper. The bun was literally 1/2 saturated in meat juice and soggy. I did not receive my order how I asked for it at all. And I got no condiments! (The condiments were ordered online!) On all levels there was no care put into the way the burger was put together for delivery. Lettuce, tomato and bun need to be separated from the hot burger. I was so hungry and bummed. read more

Classic cheeseburger and garlic fries are freaking amazing!! You HAVE to get the fries!!! My husband came here the day before because we had lunch at the local synagogue and fish was served - he's not a fan. So he popped by here on his own and had a great time without me. This review is solely based on tonight's staff & cook... I camr in just to order a vegan Oreo shake which was Great...But when I ordered a large fry which I knew it was a mistake not to just order a medium due to quality, they gave me a large bag full of fry crumbs(tiny, over fried fries) After walking to my car and tasting a few, I walked back in told them and they said they would remake me a batch. At the time, another man had just received his order in which we both looked, and he had Long full fries and I nodded to the worker that's what I received from a different crew of workers last week. Shortly after she brought me another order of fries while telling me they can't control the hiw the fried are cut even though another customer came in and ordered a small fry with long cut full crispy fries. I didn't understand why she tried to prep me for the disappointment until I drove off with same sad cut of nibblet fries. I hate to write this bad review but don't like how I feel played. So, I just ate here with the boys for a late lunch. And I am totally disappointed in the service. 1. I order a chocolate milk with my son's chicken tenders meal. And the server said it was $0.50 extra. Which is fine... Thanks for letting me know... 2. My food came out faster than the kids, which was horrible for a hangry child. So, I let my preschooler drink my chocolate shake to prevent a meltdown! My food & what was left of my shake was great! 3. My son's chicken tenders meal came out super crispy. That's being nice... it was overcooked... burnt! So he didn't eat it! The server asked if we got everything. And I told her that we are missing the chocolate milk. I'm really torn because in the past I've loved this place. The fries were still just as tasty, but when I took a bite of my burger I could tell that I shouldn't be eating it. It was kind of gray and there was a smell and taste that just felt... off? When you know, you know. The staff was really friendly and assured me that the beef was grass fed and offered to make me a different one or a portobello burger, but I'm not a big fan of mushrooms and couldn't imagine eating beef after taking a bite of my first burger. Looking at recent reviews, it looks like my beef experience was not unique. Still giving 3/5 stars because I've been coming here for years and it's been so much better in the past! I'm never going here again. I gave this place many chances to make a decent lamb burger. Last night's burger was disgusting. It was over cooked and had lots of gristle and I could barely eat it. It's a shame because they try really hard, and the staff got my order perfect except for the way the food was cooked. Well I went to park burger today and the onion rings were hard as concrete. Then my daughter and son went to wash their hands and that's when all hell broke loose. The bathroom door lock broke and they got trapped in there for 30 min. The owner was called and he comes attempting to open it with a little screwdriver. Only when I called the fire department did he break the door down and get my kids out. Never did he say sorry nor did he comp the meal. Just kept saying it never happened before. I don't care if it happened before. It's happening right now to my kids! I've never been angrier about an experience in a restaurant. I'm not looking for a free meal but the offer would have made me feel a bit better. I couldn't even finish the meal after the experience. Got a custom burger: impossible patty, blue cheese, grilled onions, and aioli. Also got a side of sweet potato fries. The burger was quite good, though whatever they grilled/sautéed the onions in overpowered the other flavors a bit. The sweet potato fries were perfect: a little crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and the ideal mix of sweet and savory. Will definitely be going back. read more

This was a great burger and sides!!! I had the duke with avocado !!!! Delicious!!!!!!!!! Had the garlic fries, son had the glen view, daughter had glenview with avocado. Oh my gosh i stumbled on to this little hole in the wall burger place... I'm in HEAVEN with the burger and Garlic Fries... The Cheese Burger was served on a BRIOCHE bun and the Garlic Fries were the best.... Served piping HOT with Garlic and parmesan cheese... A good portion for the small size.... We ordered the vegan Ramirez burger and a vegan oreo milkshake. The milkshake was really good. For a burger joint the burger was really disappointing. Burger was served at room temperature and lacked any flavor. The staff was kind enough to make us another one which was warm but the bun was burnt. After reading what you wrote in February I did visit the earlier reviews (though now with your shield) and was moved for a moment to think that perhaps there was a place I'd rather be. Then I read what you wrote again and thought it's a nice day and Rosie never steers me wrong and what's the worst thing that could happen truly and so me and the C we went up the hill and voila. And. After as we were walking we both agreed. That we owed Rosie (another) debt of gratitude. Locally sourced meat, ground daily. Fresh-baked Bakers of Paris buns. Superlative sides to mix and match and a menu of their own creations if you're feeling like putting yourself in their big strong hands which is what we did. Niesar for me (bleu cheese and shallots), the C had a Drury (mushrooms and swiss). I didn't get to bite the Drury because my face was buried in Niesar for the next 30 minutes as I softly nibbled and sucked the bleu cheese from around her edges, nuzzling the bun with my nose just lightly enough to be noticed taking my sweet time before after what felt like eternity finally taking the small bites of burger because that was the best part and I wanted it to last and last. Unlike the experiences of others for whom I can only say Second Chance Review! the meat was tender and moist and perfectly seasoned. The setting was simple, not spartan. It was warm with the angle of the sun so maybe take that into account when dressing for dinner. Linden Street on tap. Hella nice counter people definitely made us feel welcome and at home. Couple week old burger joint where the True Value hardware store used to be. The basic burger is $7 and comes with tomato, lettuce, and garlic aioli and onions or pickles upon request. Burgers are made with Marin Sun Farms grass-fed beef ground in house. They also have turkey, portobello, and black-bean patty burgers, plus hot dogs and salads. I ordered the Cheeseburger ($8) with Gruyere (other choices of Tillamook cheddar, swiss, and Stilton blue), a side of fries ($3) and asked for Medium Rare. Very ordinary. Ordered two classic burgers cooked medium. One was rare and the other was over cooked. I wouldn't say the meat is anything of quality, it was juicy and the patty's are fairly thin.
