It was great, they would have their fill of fun and then we could go home and rest. Now years later my wife and I joined the newly renovated pool with all new lounge chairs, locker and rest rooms and a new kiddie pool with a slide. It is a huge improvement. It was ok before and now it is so much better. We came here quite a bit this year and really enjoyed it. There is no food allowed by the pool area but they have a snack stand with tables and benches where you can either purchase food or bring your own. We had a very nice time this season and will join again next. They also have other amenities at the park such as tennis and a meeting room.

This park is clean and very well-kept, plenty of street parking available and offers residents free Wi-Fi. There's a good size playground for younger and older children, including swings, slides and monkey bars as well as a big sandbox with 2 excavators. Not to mention, there are tons of trucks, cars, walkers and ride-on toys for the younger children to play with. Sprinklers are turned on during the summer (don't forget your kid's bathing suit and towel). Where the bathrooms are located at inside the community room, there's a billiard and ping pong table, a water fountain and vending machines for your convenience. Next to the playground, there's a basketball and tennis court, where you can also play handball, badminton and volleyball. This park could get a bit crowded during summer camp times but it isn't too bad.

just a heads up this review is mostly about the dog park in the back of the park. since moving to…read morelong island a few years ago my partner and i were looking for a local spot to take our corgi puppy and this one was the closest. it ended up being a pretty solid choice. they've made some updates recently like expanding the synthetic turf in the big dog area which is great. the rest of the park still has a mix of sand and gravel on both the small and big dog sides which is fine but gets a little dusty sometimes. on hot summer days there is a little bit of shade which helps but not a whole lot so definitely bring your own water. the fountains are there but they're not super reliable. they've worked on and off over the past few years but lately they've been mostly off. outside of the dog park you can tell the community is really into the tennis and pickleball courts. the parking lot was also recently redone so no more giant dips or weird bumps which is super nice. overall it's a good dog park. not perfect but glad it's nearby.

If there is a big event here there is plenty of street parking. You walk through the entrance and are immediately greeted by flowers... Lots and lot of flowers. The gardens are divided into different sections all of which are great for photos. They have footbridges, rock gardens, lakes and plenty of trees and paths. Occasionally there are special exhibits in the original Clark house. I have been there for photo and watercolor shows. There are also concerts as well as special events for the children during various holidays. Clarke is a complete package. It's beautiful and peaceful as well. Nice place to just sit and relax. Thanks to the Town of North Hempstead for maintaining this lovely property that we can enjoy at no charge. There is also a lovely gift shop.. Make sure you stop by on your visit here.
