Park Dental Hugo has a modern facility with excellent software and dental equipment. They have four Dentists that are professional and really listen. They are enjoyable to work with. Park Dental has an excellent team of Hygenists that work seamlessly with the Dentists. However , due to all the growth at this office I have run into two administrative problems that are deeply concerning. I recently asked for a quote on how much a procedure would cost and how much Delta Dental would cover. It took forever to get the quote and Delta Dental was confused about the planned work. The plan was not clear. Additionally they had a lot billing issues and this was finally corrected. Because you don't pay until you are billed.The second issue is that over the past 4 to 6 months the staff that work the front desk have gone from providing the best service I have found Anywhere in Any Business and where now a level of service that is best described as I don't give a damn. We are overwhelmed every day , every appoinment is maxed out and if your new crown fell out , we will let you know when you can come in! We are busy, I am busy get in the queue and quit bothering me. A Dentist owned Practice would never allow this disrespect. They cherish customers as life long assets. Park Dental is not a Dentist owned practice. It is a flawed healthcare model due to admin failures . Focus on the customer and these problems will disappear. I recently saw Dr. Walek for some fairly extensive dental work He did such a wonderful job putting my mind at ease and explaining exactly how the entire process would go. I just can't thank him and his assistant for walking me through each step and just being so kind and gentle. Believe me I've had some pretty negative experiences in the past, but not this time. Very Shady Billing practice Do not sign Financial waiver, they put charges to make you pay out of pocket. I had the regular cleaning appointment which is 100% covered by my insurance. but these guys tweaked the treatment code and I have pay from my pocket. when I tried to fight for my rights and ask to punch in code for regular cleaning, they denied and told me i have to pay the bill because i have sign the financial waiver before the cleaning. read more

The dental packages went up. $718 for a dental package for two people. They did away with a couples dental package apparently because Park Dental was loosing money. Purchasing two separate packages is a few hundred dollars more now than when I was here about two years ago. Must be the shiny new office they are trying to pay for. They are no longer in a strip mall. I ended up walking out before paying that amount. I'll go somewhere else. So longer after all these years PD. ((Insert peace sign emoji)) read more

We missed one appt. for our youngest son, which was our fault, however, there was no reminder from Park Dental, when we tried to reschedule they would not let us & said we would have wait for a cancellation to come up before he could be seen because we missed our appt. What ever happened to caring about the patient? We took our business to Hugo Dental & when they requested records, Park Dental would not give them any information or xrays, the people at Park Dental obviously do not care their patients. The people @ Hugo Dental is great, they are very nice & they make it clear that their priority is the patient, just like medical professionals are supposed to. read more

I am writing to document an awful experience at Park dental Hugo. Due to COVID I was reluctant to visit the dentist for routine teeth cleaning. I scheduled an appointment in late 2020 for a cleaning on April 14, 2021. I left work early and took PTO to make this appointment. When I arrived the front desk, staff was very friendly. I was brought back into a room and the Maria Poyerd asked questions about my health. I told her nothing has changed. Then she began to take x-ray images of my teeth. I have extra bone around my lower jaw and the fixture in mouth caused enough pain that I told Maria Poyerd that it really hurt and one the final image she acknowledged the extra bone and adjusted the fixture. The pain it caused could have been avoided if she had given the attention to the anatomy of my lower jaw. After this ordeal she said she wanted a blood pressure reading. She placed a wrist cuff and took a reading. I was in an awkward position on the dental chair with my legs crossed and my arm fully compressed at the elbow. The reading was about 160 over 100. We took it again with no change to my position about two minutes later. The reading was about 155 over 100. We switched the wrist to the left wrist, she told me to un-cross my legs and fix my arm position and took another about two minutes later. It was 149 over 87. I explained this is normal for me and that I had a physical recently in January 2021. I told her I was not concerned. She them went and found another cuff device and that reading was like 185 over 110. These cuff devices are not accurate, my physician thoroughly explained why they are not. He explained this to me because I have had high blood pressure for 20 years and had been prescribed medication for 20 years to manage it. A reading of 149/87 is totally normal for me in the afternoon after having sat (at rest) for just a few minutes. Dr. Walek then instructed Maria Poyerd that he is refusing further service because of the blood pressure reading. I have been a patient at Park Dental for over 20 years. I have never been treated so awful by a dentist in my life. Furthermore Dr. Walek is someone I have never met. He did not meet me just instructed his assistant that this appointment was over. The last comment the assistant said to me was that they do this because they care. Dr. Walek did not follow up with me as requested. It appeared to me he could not care less. Both Dr. Walek and his assistant are very young and do not have the experience to make rational decisions. I no longer feel comfortable going to the Dentist I have seen for 20 years. In addition, I felt uncomfortable with all the health questions, pushy. I have a right to my health record privacy. Park dental should not take blood pressure reading with a cheap wrist cuff. Park Dental should have a standard clinical calibrated blood pressure cuff and have the patient properly positioned. I am still upset about the way Dr. Walek, Maria Poyerd and Park dental treated me. Park Dental should keep and hire more dentists with experience like Amy DeYoung. Dr. Walek does not value his patients. This is about as crazy as requiring a physical before getting a haircut. While in the lobby of Park Dental I saw an obese woman. Should she be declined service until she loses enough weight to meet their requirements? Do not buy the prepaid dental program. I paid $396 for 2 exams, I used 1 and the other was delayed due to COVID and other issues. The Hugo Office refused to honor my second visit that I prepaid They claimed that since I know had insurance ( Medicare) they had to charge the insurance policy. So, they charged my insurance, and they got paid twice.. I am furious and will never use a Park Dental office every again. They are unprofessional! I've been a patient there for years. Same hygienist. Same awesome dentist. I love the place. But that's not why I'm writing this review. Last week I was at the gas station next door and my truck locked itself with the keys in the ignition. I walked over to Park Dental and asked for the hygienist--again--known her for years and years--to see if I could borrow her car to drive home (about 7 minutes away) to get my extra set. Her car was in the shop. But one of the receptionists said for me to take her van--she trusted me--to get my keys AND come back. Which I did. All of the receptionists and I had a good laugh about all of this and I am so grateful to have this "beyond the professional" relationship with Park Dental and everyone who works there! My husband is an established pt that was going to have RCT + Crown done in the Hugo office by Dr. Black. He called right away this morning stating that the area he is having future work done on is in a lot of constant pain. Instead of prescribing him an antibiotic (he was not asking for pain meds or any sort) they told him to use Ibuprofen & there was nothing further they could do for him as they had no Emergency exams available. THIS IS BULLSHIT! I worked for a dental office for many years and this is not standard practice let alone in the middle of a pandemic!! I spoke with Chrissy, who answers phones for the clinic, multiple times today and she was very rude. Zero customer service skills and her behavior alone made it an easy decision to leave this clinic and find care elsewhere. My June cleaning will be cancelled & my family will not be going back to this clinic. We called Aspen Dental and had a totally different experience. read more

Park Dental staff are always so kind, detail oriented and professional. Anytime I have needed quick dental service, they are quick to respond. I live in west Minneapolis but come here because it is the best dental office around. I would highly recommend them to adults and kids! read more

The front staff is absolutely fantastic, they take their time with you and are very helpful. All the staff is nice and the facility is clean. However in the in the six months I have gone their I have never had so many dental problems, it could be a coincidence not sure. read more
