    Outside hotel daytime

This is the most charming hotel on the most charming street in Winter Park Florida. I try to include an overnight stay there whenever I go to Florida. You must get a room on the balcony overlooking the park and Park Ave so you can have your coffee and watch all the dogs walk by in the morning. Or a glass of wine in the evening and watch everyone going in and out of the plethora of restaurants on the avenue. The rooms are not soundproofed. There is a train that goes by on occasion. There is an antique elevator with brass bars that you will pull shut. There is one flight of wide stairs. But non of that matters. Because the staff is absolutely lovely, helpful and if you relax in the charming lobby for coffee long enough, you will feel like part of the family!! If you are looking for a cookie cutter hotel keep going this is not for you. But if you want original oil paintings on the walls, wrap around balconies with huge Boston ferns and a special time that will live in yourthen stay and put your feet up!

This place is amazing if you like an old place with lots of charm it is the place for you. The town and location of this hotel is fantastic, shops and restaurants and bars right outside the door. The hotel doesn't offer much, just a clean room with coffee, tea and water in the lobby all day and night. Right next to the hotel is a beautiful park with some amazing lights. Christmas music being piped throughout the park. This place is really relaxing and charming.

Wonderful environment pet friendly hotel my sister would have loved this place. Front desk service was wonderful very attentive. You had great coffee and tea 24/7. Love the open door balcony made me feel like I was at a different time 50's maybe -streets were alive people walking dinning shopping just a great place to stay. I went with serious back issues but the bed the pillows were wonderful slept like a baby. The art one the floor sooo cute comic pictures like wonder women -Superman I think and the gas an elevator too very vintage-at the end I definitely enjoyed my stay.

This hotel thinks that just because you book a room on a non-refundable rate that it means that they should be okay with accepting black mold that shoots out of your AC unit that is right over your head onto your pillows. They also think that it is okay to lie about the unit being brand new, when it is clearly very old. They also think that it's okay to lie about accommodating me by switching me to another room when they told me they were fully booked and couldn't accommodate me. When I continued to push and told them I couldn't stay there and breathe that in, they then told me they would move someone else into the room that I was requesting to be removed from. I reiterated that they told me they were fully booked so how is that possible?! "Oh we will just put someone else in that room who hasn't checked in yet" is what I was told. I told them I didn't feel comfortable with them putting some other innocent guest in a room that clearly has health hazards. Clearly they do not care about the health and safety of their guests, nor do they care about morals or ethics. Do not stay here. The hotel reeks of mold and nut from the second you walk in the door, so it was no surprise that I found plenty of it in my room.

A perfect view of the loud and busy road as well as the train tracks just a few hundred feet from my room.

TRAINS RUNNING PAST YOUR ROOM ALL NIGHT LONG. Literally, the bell at the intersection is beneath this balcony. DO NOT stay on that side of the hotel.

My wife thought it had "character". The place is filthy! Just gross and nasty! We had dead bugs on the night stands, on the lamp shades, in the tub and suspect hairs everywhere. F this place. Needs to be burned down to sanitize. Too bad cause the location is good. Oh, might I add, no parking. And we booked the "honeymoon suite". This place is not fit for working girls. And, the bathroom doesn't have a vent. And the A/C is pathetic. I mean, I just can't tear this place down enough with decent language. There are no superlatives strong enough to describe what a real dump this place is. Reminds me of "the dirtiest toilet in Scotland" from Trainspotting. Turns out you can only take a shower. The spout selector button is stuck in the upright position. And it's not a discount hotel by any stretch of the imagination. You get the idea. Avoid at all costs!!!

If you don't follow your GPS like it's the voice of God, you'll drive past this place at least 10 times wondering if you're being pranked. Once you finally find it, though, you're in for a surprise. The hotel is attached to a magnificent steakhouse and gives off this classy vineyard-patio vibe that makes you feel like you're about to attend a wine tasting, even if you're just there for work like I was. Walking up, there are beautiful outdoor tables with glass tops where guests can relax, eat, and pretend they're important. Then you walk into the lobby and BAM dark wood floors, elegant furniture, comfortable sofas, and enough atmosphere to make you wonder, Wait what did I accidentally book? I was honestly concerned I'd somehow clicked the wrong hotel and was about to max out my credit card. Nope. Surprisingly affordable. The room? Fantastic. You've got a Keurig machine ready to fuel your caffeine addiction, a nice big TV, all the amenities you need, and then there's THE BED. Listen, I don't know if it's a pillow-top, a cloud-top, a Sleep Number, a NASA mattress, or if angels personally fluff it every afternoon, but that thing is dangerous. I laid down for what felt like five minutes and woke up the next morning. I slept harder than a newborn after a bottle. Now let's talk about room service. They have this little stand where you order directly from the steakhouse downstairs. I ordered dinner, expecting hotel prices that require a small bank loan. The bill was $35. I nearly called the front desk to report a pricing error. Meanwhile, I was hungrier than a hostage, and they delivered a meal fit for royalty. For a brief moment, I genuinely felt like a VIP. The hotel also has a nice bar for those who enjoy a drink. I don't drink, but if I did, I probably would've celebrated finally finding the entrance. Bottom line: great atmosphere, beautiful property, comfortable rooms, amazing food, affordable prices, and a mattress that may have supernatural powers. Would I stay here again? Absolutely. Would I still need GPS to find it? Also absolutely.

I was assigned an ADA accessible room - not needed just what I was assigned and that was fine. When I entered, I noticed there was no shower curtain, I thought maybe that it on purpose although it would make quite a mess with the overhead shower and was probably a slip hazard. I figured I would have to use the handheld shower head and ask the next morning. It was late so I did not want to bother the staff. Water still went everywhere but I had extra towels available. The next day I asked the front desk if accessible rooms were supposed to have shower curtains and she said yes, I said Ok well mine does not. She asked for the room number but I explained I do not like people in the room when I am not there and would be back in a couple of hours. She still asked for my room, and I said again I will give it when I get back. When I returned... my room would not open. I had to try 4 times before it finally opened. The lock would turn green but the door would not budge. This happened the rest of the stay as well. I called down, and housekeeping was on my floor, so she came very quickly. I was told that this room should have a curtain and the housekeeping manager is supposed to check every room not sure how this was missed. This was a HUGE slipping hazard, especially if I actually needed the accessible room. I let the front desk know when I left that this was really disappointing and on top of this the "refrigerator" in the room did not cool anything. I had some ice packs with me that helped me keep the water cool the first night but by the second night they were no longer cooling either. The Hampton Inn rooms are usually quite spacious with a long desk and spacious bathroom. This was not it. tiny desk in the corner. The area, is easily accessible, there are tons of restaurants minutes from Marketplace at Altamonte Springs and the Altamonte Springs mall. There is a Cracker Barrel and Waffle House just behind and across the street from the hotel. There are also other hotels to choose from... All in all, I would probably find a different Hampton Inn property or a different hotel brand next time.. Do better.
