I was called within hours of receiving a referral from my Dad's doctor. An appointment was made for a few days later. The receptionist was friendly, office was inviting. Dr. Mahloch had called us in and her voice was loud enough for Dad to hear, but it didn't sound like she was screaming at him. We've been to other audiologists where the tonality of doctors was condescending and was not pleasant. Dr. Mahloch was the opposite and I felt she wanted to do her best to help the situation. Yes, my dad's hearing is declining, will this finally be the year he decides to get hearing aids? The jury is still out on that one, but I will keep trying. read more

I'm so glad I get care from Parker Hearing! I visited an ENT and their audiologist. They said since my hearing aid is 3 years old, I should look into replacing it. Parker says that they usually can get 5-7 years from my model hearing aid, and I didn't have to think about replacing them yet. Also, they do a lot of education in the visits. I learn a lot when I go. They changed their pricing model to reflect the length of a visit, but I think that is fair. read more

This place was horrible. I paid $4,000 and insurance paid $2,000 for hearing aids that I cold not get to work right. Charging problems, not connecting to the app right. I had my first appointment with the Parker Institute today. Dr. Lisa Gray, AuD was very professional with a warm personality that immediately made me comfortable. I have a Cochlear Implant on my left and a Resound Quattro Hearing Aid on the right. I am ecstatic to hear that they will start a Cochlear Implant Program in a few months. My former CI audiologist is in Orange. It is quite a drive from San Pedro. Also, she is not in my network health plan. Parker Institute is in my current network and that is a plus! My father went in for a consultation. A hearing test was completed and he was in and out in 15 min. The care quality was average. He was charged $300 for 15 min. Considering he paid out of pocket and this was outside insurance, we were shocked that he would be charged that much. They wanted to charge a lot more for a second visit if he was actually going to choose hearing aids. Considering that their rate is equivalent to $1200 per hour, we decided against it. read more

I went to Parker Hearing Institute on February 25, 2025 because I needed hearing aids - I already knew I had significant hearing loss. Josh Parker performed testing and confirmed the obvious. I expressed to him the importance of the hearing aids working seamlessly with my Samsung Android phone. He assured me that he could provide that and, in fact, was preparing to attend a conference on some new technology (AI). He was to call me back and schedule a fitting. After 2- 1/2 weeks, I called the office but he was not there. I expressed my frustration with Josh and said I wanted a copy of my test results. I had to call again the next day as well as email Josh Parker. They finally emailed the results but I NEVER to this day heard back form Josh or his staff. They had no problem billing my insurance $616.00 of which $373.72 was paid. $373.72 that is no longer available to me for coverage. All for what? He did absolutely nothing but waste my time. Knowing he dropped the ball and that he had an unhappy patient, you would think he would have the professional courtesy to reach out. Josh - you disparage your father's good name and reputation. Shame on you. Insurance fraud? Perhaps, I'll explore that deeper. read more

I saw the doctor on Monday Dec 30, 2024. He told me he would call me that very afternoon and give me options for hearing aids. 2 weeks pass and I haven't heard from them at all. I write an email to their office. I get a reply saying they are sorry and they will contact me very soon. Today is 2 weeks after the email and 4 weeks after the first visit. No calls, no emails, no texts. I write them again today. I get a phone call back finally. I have decided to take my business elsewhere. They showed me no courtesy, no quick replies. They completely ignored me for an entire month. They only reached out to me after I contacted them first. And the price she gave me today was 2 times what I have found them for. Stay away from this office. No ethics and poor integrity. Shameful, and I am sure they charged my insurance for my visit. I will contact my insurance about that. FAIL. read more

I took advantage of Parker Hearing walk-in hours this morning and had a great experience. For the first time in many years of wearing hearing aids the tip of the silicone dome broke off and was deep in my ear. Josh Parker easily removed it after using a high tech scope connected to a computer screen that clearly showed it was lodged in my ear. I am a professional who had an important client session is less than an hour from when I arrived, and Josh had removed the dome, fitted new domes, and briefly answered some questions on an upcoming cochlear implant consultation I am having, with enough time for me to be available for my client on time.
