Took my uniform pants to them for pressing with starch on Tuesday. Picked them up Friday and they over pressed them on too high of a heat and melted them. Yes literally melted the inside waistband and the pants themselves now have scorch marks all over them.... Ruined Three pairs of pants at over $100 each Sure I will bring them in Monday afternoon however it's not only the waistband that's been melted the whole outside of the pants are scorched it appears that somebody decided to press polyester pants on a wool setting

Update: The owner contacted me shortly after my review and offered reimbursement for my dress. My husband brought my dress back in when got home from work (5:30pm) that day and talked to one of the "owners" over the phone who told him to come back on Monday for a reimbursement check. Later that evening the owner updated his response to me (9:30pm) to only include a refund for the cleaning. When my husband returned on Monday, he was told they wouldn't honor the phone conversation and would only refund the cleaning cost. Two trips to the cleaners later, I can now say they ruined my dress for free. If you're looking for a good cleaners, look somewhere else. Original review: Brought a cream colored dress to be cleaned at this location. The dress had only been worn once to a graduation but had some dirt around the slit in the dress so I took it to be cleaned. When I picked up the dress there was a massive bleach spot at the slit. The dress is ultimately ruined and I was not offered a refund or explanation. The store clerk's response was that it was "impossible" for them to have a bleach spot on the dress and that I probably brought it in that way. I've in no way altered that dress and pointed out the spot as soon as I received the dress. Don't go here. They offered no solution or responsibility for ruining a dress and yet they call themselves a "Christian" company. Im furious.

My fiancé dropped off several dresses to be cleaned and altered here. The cleaning was done poorly and her expensive dresses were ruined. Another dress was altered but needed to be fixed. When we brought the dress back in, she was argumentative and said they don't use glue and insinuated that we were lying and that this dress was never dropped off here in the first place. We have a receipt that shows that it was in fact dropped off here and that it was paid for "dress regular tapering". I would not recommend leaving your clothes here.

My family patronized this cleaners for a couple of years and was satisfied with their work, until they DESTROYED my silk Antonio Melani blouse. But the problem I have, is the owner/manager refusal to accept responsibility for DESTROYING my blouse. My blouse had only been worn twice before they DESTROYED it. I told & showed the owner/manager my blouse and she became angry and unreasonable. She stated my blouse wasn't silk but satin, even though the label said silk. She stated if I purchased the exact $200 blouse again and bring it to show her with the receipt she would reimburse me. I did exactly what she asked me to do and she still refused to acknowledge that they COMPLETELY DESTROYED my blouse and refused to reimburse. Being new to the area, I was in need of a new dry cleaner - Parkside Cleaners was easy to find and close enough to where I live; where it wasn't a hassle to get here. Selected this cleaners over others based on my fellow Yelpers and their extensive insight and knowledge (thanks Squad)! Upon entering I was greeted quickly and with a smile. After getting my 10 plus pieces out of my bag, I was quickly told that it would be $6.25 to wash polos; and an additional $1 if I wanted them back next day. (If this would have been the extent of my exchange here; I would have given this place 1 start). Mind you I walked into this establishment around 7:45 AM on a Friday morning. Most cleaners that I have ever been to, if you bring a shirt in by 10:00 AM, getting the garment back next day is a non- issue not for this place, so, I left my dress shirts and took my polos elsewhere. Getting to the point here, even after all that, once I returned next day for my dress shirts, the lady not only remember my name after only meeting here once the day prior, she had my shirts up front waiting for me. Wow - talk about customer service. That exchange in itself will push me to come back here, not to mention the job they did on my shirts (if I wear the shirts and I identify something wrong I will update). PS - I also love the love of Jesus displayed here, not that it has anything to do with the work they do as cleaners. Well done! Cheers,

Finally! A dry cleaner on which I can depend! After being disappointed by a handful of other local businesses, I turned to Yelp for guidance, and was pleasantly affirmed in my experience with Parkside. The vital ingredient in the relationship with a dry cleaner is trust. Trust that they will take care of and restore valuable belongings, trust that they aren't using environmentally harmful methods, trust that they won't swindle you, and trust that they will deliver what they promise. I brought an embarrassingly worn and dirty trench coat to Parkside Cleaners. It is a beloved (and expensive) item in my wardrobe, so I was nervous about the idea of taking it to the cleaners in the first place. I was promptly and kindly assisted when I arrived; they took note of my directions and honored their advertised discount as well as waive a small mending fee. Their shop was pleasant and well-maintained; what I could see of their back room looked clean and organized. When I returned to fetch my coat, I was blown away. It was spotless, perfectly mended, free from strong chemical odors, and freshly pressed. The man and woman who assisted me were both friendly, thorough, and quick. I'm now confident that Parkside Cleaners will give whatever I bring the right the TLC I expect. They've earned my trust!

Terrible!!!!! They ruined all my 3 expensive dresses. After I complained, they blamed it on me. Afterwards I saw that they had glued my 4th dress so I went to have them readjust and they said that I had never left this dress in the first place. Meaning that I am a crazy liar that glue my own dress and then blame them, even though I paid for them to do an alteration (see receipt below showing payment for "regular tapering")!!!! I have never been so humiliated! They blame me, called me crazy and did not give at least my money back . DO NOT leave your clothes at this place for any kind of service!

i found this place through the reviews on yelp - was ready to start looking at dry cleaners outside of the city because i was getting so discouraged...so glad i tried one more place before that!! this place is amazing! i am honestly, a dry cleaners nightmare! i stain everything and rip everything i own. i have brought them things that i have been hoarding for the four years since i moved here that no other dry cleaners have been able to fix/save and i have yet to stump them! as a bonus the staff is incredibly nice and gracious and it is an enjoyable place to frequent! they could be mean and cruel and i would still go there so this is just the cherry on top! read more

This dry cleaners has recently changed ownership. I would not recommend using this cleaners. First, I think they are expensive. Second, poor quality cleaners. I brought them three shirts to dry clean and none of them were pressed correctly (i.e they weren't smooth). I had them repress the shirts and they are better... still not perfect. Third, the management is rude, the service is slow, and the cleaners is unwilling to make customers happy to ensure repeat business. read more

If you live in the Central West End, this is the dry cleaning place to use. We tried a number of them and other places had either a combination of rude behavior mixed with bad service or okay service but complete disorganization. Parkside Cleaners do a great job with the clothes, are organized, and the people working here are extremely friendly. I would definitely recommend using them. read more

I would recommend this place to anyone in the CWE. It's right on the corner of Taylor and Forest Park Blvd (next to Subway) making it very convenient since its on my walk to school. The staff are all very nice and they do a great job cleaning and pressing men's shirts and slacks. read more

I have 2 dry cleaning places 4 blocks from my house but don't mind driving to this place. I have tried a few other places in the city but keep coming back here even though it's not in my way - Great quality work, highly professional and genuinely friendly and nice. They have done minor alterations for me at no cost when taken my things for cleaning. I wish I had found this place right when I moved to STL. read more

I have had some horrible experiences with St. Louis area dry cleaners. Multiple suits ruined and lost items at various places. Now this is the only place I will go. It is a little bit more expensive but for dry cleaning you get what you pay for. It is the only place I trust with my higher price items. The employees are all really friendly. Tonight I screwed up and they stayed open late for me to go pick up my items that I needed for work. This place is as good as it gets. read more

Professional quality work, great customer service, and conveniently located, I have been using Parkside for a little over a year since I moved into the neighborhood and have never been let down. Most of what I bring in is routine office clothes cleaning, and everything is always in by the day they give me (usually 3 days for pants and shirts). And occaisionally I come to them in need of some real work done--kool-aid stains on white dress shirts, ink scribbles on office clothing, and sweat stains on collars. It surprises me every time, but for each of these my shirts come back looking good as new. Kudos. On top of the quality of work, their customer service is great. Overall a great neighborhood business, highly recommended. read more

I just can't explain how happy I am with this service. I brought in a down comforter that was my grandpa's. It had stains all over it, cat fur, and smelled kind of weird. I examined the comforter after taking it home and I can't find a single stain or strand of fur. Oh, and it smells just fine now. Also, the girl who takes your order at the front is very nice! read more

We've been here a couple times for dry cleaning - suits and tuxes looked great after. I also trusted them to steam an antique, handmade velvet gown, which turned out really beautiful. It's expensive, but so far we've had really good service. read more

I've taken items here twice, and on both occasions I was dissatisfied with their service. Items still had stains or had new discolorations, and repairs were shoddy with large stitches. When I brought up my concerns, they flatly told me there was nothing they would do about it. read more

Jesus this place is expensive! $8 to dry clean a shirt. Not only that but it took 3 days. I guess I'm just used to $3 cleaners with next day pick up. Also they didn't get all of the stains out. $8 to dry clean 1 shirt and leave 2 stains in no thank you. read more

Gave a large order (23 shirts), and they gave me a price and receipt. However, when I went to pick up, they charged me $10 more, since they claimed women's blouses had to be done by hand. Wouldn't give me the shirts unless I paid. Unprofessional, since they bait-and-switched me and left me with no recourse. Plenty if other cleaners in CWE, so I'd go elsewhere. read more

I have been going to Parkside for years and will not consider going to any other cleaners. They are so professional, friendly and always provide superior customer service. I have also purchased some tailoring services (hems in dress slacks, etc.) and always been pleased with how well they fit. HORRIBLE! If you value your clothes at all, find a different cleaner! Ruined a shirt and then denied the mistake. Made up several excuses as to why the shirt was messed up including that I 1) purposely spilled blood, yes blood, on it after I picked it up, 2) it was a defective shirt and the designer should pay for it, even though it had been dry cleaned several times before, 3) once they found out it had been dry cleaned at some point before, they latched on to that and blamed it on the last cleaner. Unbelievably poor customer service. read more

HORRIBLE!!! I had the worst experience with this place. If you value your clothes at all I would not come here. I took my favorite silk blouse here and they completely ruined it. They didn't tell me it was ruined and then said multiple lies about why it was ruined. The customer service IS TERRIBLE. These people are rude. I had the owner call my office to yell at me about my ruined shirt. Not once did they apologize. read more

Service-wise, there wasn't an attendant on-site, but they do have a number posted on the door if you run into any issues. Just note that only one of the two coin machines was working, so it's smart to have a plan B or bring extra change with you. The ambiance was decent--well-lit and fairly calm--but the trash bins were overflowing and could use more frequent attention. There's also very limited seating, so you might want to wait in your car or take a short walk while your laundry runs. Lastly, there were only two laundry carts available, so if you don't bring your own, you might have to wait your turn. Overall, it's a functional, gets the job done, but it could use a little more upkeep and on-site support.

This place has a new attendant and he's a little scary. If he can be believed, the owner died and left him the laundromat (not sure he can be believed, but he certainly is ubiquitous at this location), even though he claims he is already independently wealthy (he is, after all, the real Bruce Willis -- the one in the tabloids is just his stand-in). I think the attendant lives there, since he maintains a chest filled with cheese, which he drops everywhere. The incessant chatter was just annoying, and I did my best not to engage. It only became scary when he pointed out the car that "they" gave him out of appreciation for his contributions to Richmond Heights (which his father founded, according to him). It was my car. At that point, I felt it was time to make a quick getaway before he noticed me driving off in his prize, so I had to schlepp everything in one trip and make a beeline. Fortunately I only pack away the winter linens once a year. Maybe by the time I need to go again, he'll have gone back to Hollywood.

Although I have yet to use this cleaners for laundry or dry cleaning, I've been pleased with their ability to handle minor repairs on a set schedule. It's the little things, right? I stopped by late on a Saturday afternoon with a sleeping bag in need of mending. The staffer at the desk took a quick look, marked the spots for repair and gave an estimate (under $20 to repair a long seam that was splitting and a zipper that was separating from the body of the blanket). We agreed that "by next Friday" would be fine. I stopped in on Friday afternoon, paid the amount agreed upon (via credit card) and the mend looks good.
