We are in town visiting. Always looking to try something new. We were very pleasantly surprised at what a Great experience we had. First off very clean. The hostess was very pleasant and seated us promptly. Our server Jocelyn was very quick to greet us and bring our drinks. The loaf of hot tasty goodness she brought wow-super tasty. Our appetizer was the spinach dip-so good and the chips crisp abs fresh. I had the black abs bleu salad. Was cooked to perfection and so fresh. My daughter had the strawberry salad and was pleased with it as well. We then got a call from a friend who was also in town. I asked if they could join our table...no problem. They also had a great experience. Jocelyn didn't miss a beat, very pleasant and super accommodating. Parkside grill. Being a frequent visitor to Knoxville, I'm always looking for exciting or interesting new places to eat, This week, I happened to find the Parkside grill on the westside. Parkside grill is really cool. It's the kind of a restaurant that will fit many occasions - it has a nice interior decor and the food has enough variety to cover a casual meal to a special occasion. I like to ask the waitress for recommendations and she I suggested the chicken pot pie. I kind of thought, really??? but I went with her suggestion, and I'll tell you, it was the best chicken pot pie I've ever had. The bread is really good. the service was phenomenal. This definitely gets five stars in my book, I definitely I'll have to stop back there when I'm in Knoxville next time, It is definitely worthwhile. read more

We ate at Parkside on our way back from a Florida road trip. This meal was the best we had on the whole trip! We had the steak kabobs and they were cooked and seasoned perfectly. I've been going to Parkside Grill for years. I really like the outdoor patio space and they have great happy hour specials on appetizers. This place also has really amazing bread, so be sure to ask for it. Come in on Burger Monday for a really yummy burger deal. I had the kickin' chicken today. It is two fried chicken breasts with gravy and two sides. I ordered broccoli and fries as my sides. It was fine, but didn't wow me. My wife did the $17 brunch buffet. The crepe brûlée French toast was very good, but the other items seemed underwhelming. Overall, everything was decent, but not enough to receive 4 stars. read more

Nice restaurant with a good variety of different American foods. I went here for a work meeting and it was very busy on a Tuesday night. I ordered the shrimp appetizer which was not actually too spicy, it had a nice kick. I then ordered the Cedarwood salmon and although the salmon didn't have that much flavor the sides really made up for the salmon. The french fries were perfectly crispy and well seasoned. The green beans also had a nice garlic flavor. I would definitely come back here if you had a bunch of picky eaters or people who really only eat American food read more

Had the terryaki steak skewers and they were so tender. For an appetizer I had the Buffalo chicken tenders and they were juicy and could cut with a fork. The bartender recommended the skewers and she was right about them being good! Have a separate bar area and more traditional restaurant on other side of building. We started with a half order of Colossal Onion Rings. For lunch, it was the Black and Bleu Salad and Spicy Shrimp and Chicken Pasta. The salad was large with great cooked to perfection sliced pieces of tended steak. It was loaded with bleu cheese vegetables. It comes with bleu cheese dressing on the side, but you probably won't need it. The decor of the restaurant is a comfortable with a big fire place, like a country lodge. The service was flawless! Wanted a nice lunch for myself and I'm more than impressed! I was greeted and seated very quickly!My waitress, Sydney was very sweet and accommodating. She made great recommendations, and was here anytime I needed her! 100/10 service wise. I started with fried pickles, those were super yummy! Followed with their house salad, with a chipotle ranch and add avocado. It was super delicious (chipotle ranch recommendation from Sydney). For my main entree I had the blackened pico salmon, with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Lots of bold flavors that come together quite nicely once the grilled Lemon is squeezed on top. I finished the meal with a Creme brûlée. Some places serve very tiny portions, but I needed a box for everything other than my salad. Well worth the visit! Always been a great place since I was young! Most entrees are winners and we always enjoyed the customer service here too.

There is nothing particularly special or exciting about this place. As I looked around, I kept wondering what kept the business and the staff afloat. What got everyone involved excited to come to work at this place? But I never got a good understanding of that or what sets this restaurant apart from the sea of other restaurants. I don't believe it was any of the things that usually draw me to a place. I love great service, great tasting food, and great atmosphere but The Parkside Grill is devoid of them all. So, I ultimately concluded it's appeal must be all about location. The Parkside Grill is conveniently located as an alternative to Carabba's or Outback if you are staying at a nearby hotel. The complimentary bread & butter came out in a warm loaf. The warmth comforted my mouth. It tasted like some sort of sourdough. Though I didn't realize this would be the best thing I tasted for the rest of the meal. Other than that, the lettuce from the salad I ordered tasted like soap--rendering it inedible. And my onion rings tasted like something I could have purchased from the frozen section of the grocery store. I'd decided on only onion rings and a salad after seeing absolutely no vegetarian entrees on the menu. Not a single one. I considered briefly getting their fish as I sometimes do when we are traveling but I seriously doubted it's freshness. I didn't even finish what little I ordered and am thankful I didn't order more. As far as atmosphere goes, I did enjoy sitting outside. There were fewer people and open air. But the disappointing food wasn't masked by friendly servers. Everyone treated us nice enough it's just that nothing sticks out. And that's everything you need to know about this place: Nothing sticks out. I cannot say enough great things about this place. I was staying at a nearby hotel for an extended stay. I wound up eating here almost every night for dinner. Their menu has a good variety and the specials are always great. The pot roast special is always a hit and sells out fast. I travel a lot and it is hard to find a place with good food at a decent price. In over a month I tried everything on the menu but found the large salads and salmon to always be a hit. The make their bread fresh daily. I always ate at the bar and the service there was excellent. The staff is friendly and go out their way to provide great service. They have a group of regulars that make you feel at home. They have great happy hour specials. I would definitely recommend stopping by and giving this place a try. read more

Service and food were slow, even though it was 4pm and restaurant was not busy. I have eaten at this restaurant many times as it is directly located across from my office. During my visit today, I witnessed the server rolling silverware wearing no gloves and picking her nose and hair and ears while continuing to happily roll the silverware that I most likely ate off of. I notified the manager who peeked in from my view and too witnessed the server picking her nose. The manager went in to talk to the server and came back to my table stating the situation has been taken care of. I'm completely grossed out and will never return to this nasty establishment. If you are into consuming snot, dandruff and ear wax, this is definitely the place to go. read more

I am giving the PSG cheeseburger a 5 star rating!! I am unable to give this rating to the restaurant or its other dishes...it's not because they aren't good (I awarded 4 stars in my previous review of PSG), it's just that this cheeseburger is something very special. So what makes a 5 star cheeseburger? Simple entrees can be among the most difficult to perfect. The fewer ingredients in a dish, the more each one must stand out, and the more perfectly it must be prepared. Creating the perfect cheeseburger is a delicate blend of science and art. The science of the perfect burger begins with a patty that balances mass, density, circumference, and thickness. The radius must meet or extend beyond the edge of the bun. It must be dense enough to hold its shape, however, not so firmly packed that it becomes tough or chewy. It must also be seasoned well enough to compliment the beefy flavor without overpowering it. PSG goes a step further by serving all of the perfect burgers on Brioche buns. This is an expensive upgrade that most establishments are unwilling to make. A Brioche bun is more expensive and has a shorter shelf-life, when compared to a more traditional flour bun. It is not unusual for a casual dining place, or any "sit-down" place to offer authentic cheeses, instead of the more traditional, imitation, processed "cheese product," however, serious points would be deducted if they didn't offer real cheese options and 5 stars would never be given. I prefer 2 slices of Cheddar. Congratulations, Parkside Grill! You make a truly excellent cheeseburger. My wife and I enjoyed them last night and, after taking a single bite, she immediately realized that your burger was easily in her top 5. Knoxville is a great town for burgers and yours might even be the best. Thank you putting the time into making a truly artisan crafted cheeseburger. Second time here for lunch and same level of excellence in both food quality and service. It's not a quiet place but worth the din.

2.5**** I convinced my yelper friends to join me for dinner here and I don't think they were pleased. My wallet was not a happy camper either. I ordered: Atlantic salmon with mushroom rice and sweet potato: The salmon had a good texture but the sauce sucked. It did not match the salmon at all. I'm a huge rice lover but this mushroom rice was not happening. They need some rice making lessons. As for the sweet potato, I felt like I was eating canned sweet potato puree. Spicy shrimp: spicy mayo shrimp with wontons. This was the best dish here. These tiny shrimps were fun to keep popping in my mouth and it paired nicely with the wonton strips. Ahi tuna wonton: worst tuna I've ever had. Extremely regret ordering this. Could it be because I just came back from Japan? Brownie: only enjoyed the ice cream. The brownie was too sweet. Food is predictable service is hit or miss. They always seem to be busy, so you would think it would be more consistent. Have hosted several large dinners there and the larger the party the worse the service. Take-out is good, the have never (at least yet) gotten our order wrong. Their cedar is smoked- so that is a lot of smoky flavor to the cheddar burger. Fries are great. The tuna app is to die for!!! read more

Hmm. Never went to this spot, and well... It's okay. I wouldn't say this place is the best place for dinner, it could be amazing for happy hour but, for dinner it's just alright. Where to begin... This place sort of reminded me of another chain restaurant such as a Chili's or Cheddar's. The interior was a little dark, home-y type of ambiance, you know with the fireplace and stone work in a living room. That's how I felt when I walked in and sat down. So, I was with friends so we ordered the Spicy Shrimp and Ahi Tuna Wonton Stack as appetizers. The Spicy Shrimp was alright, nothing special and sort of reminded me of Bang Bang Shrimp from Bonefish Grill. The Ahi Tuna was a let down. I mean, sorry I have higher standards when it comes to wonton skin, and it being used like this to me was...kind of sad. I get it when places like to "deconstruct" dishes, but to me this dish just didn't stand out to me. The tuna, after dipped in the sauce, tasted kind of weird like it wasn't fresh. For the main, I ordered the Chicken Pot Pie. And to me, it was a little too salty. Like after eating it, it just basically sucked all of the moisture from your mouth and at first you're not sure if it was the heat, but then after it cools down you instantly taste that it's just salt. So, chicken pot pie, even though it looks delicious I wouldn't suggest you to get it unless you like salty dishes. It wasn't unbearable and I still finished it, but it wasn't the best pot pie that I've had before. For dessert we shared the Kahlua Fudge Brownie. It again was just okay. It wasn't amazing and well really sweet. I mean, I really don't eat that much dessert, but it wasn't anything worth writing about or recommending. All in all, it was alright. Parkside isn't horrible, and it isn't the best thing I've ever had. Just gave me a feeling of another chain in Knoxville. What's new? read more
