At the last minute I was invited to a friends house. They told me to bring an appetiser to share. WTH???? I jokingly said I was going to bring saltines and tuna. But then I thought, I'll just come up to Parkside because they have everything and anything...especially in times when you're in a pinch. I walked in and saw the Bread & Cie rack, took the last rosemary loaf. Went to the deli section and found a roasted garlic soft cheese. I also grabbed some lemon hummus, and some marinated olives with feta. Brought it to their house and set it all up. One would think we were at some bougie restaurant! Again, this is one of those markets that has the things you need, when you need them. I've been in for onions, black beans, ice cream, etc. I need to come here more often!

    They needed a photo...

This is a nice neighborhood market and liquor store combination with a meat counter and fresh produce as well (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/parkside-market-san-diego?select=ajVpQcCs21P471C-PRbEsg#ajVpQcCs21P471C-PRbEsg). I stopped in to grab a lotto, so produce, and a bottle of water. Before picking up my items, I stopped over at the meat counter and there I learned that they carry USDA Choice cuts steaks and they conduct their cutting the steaks. You can also customize your cuts. You like a 1" cut, they will deliver. The carry the full spread of beers and wines (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/parkside-market-san-diego?select=ajVpQcCs21P471C-PRbEsg#YkOPlNVtwn9441ekKODKnA), dry goods, and those little items you need every once in a while wood, chips, and Bread and Cie of all things. The large hass avocados were .99 cents each, the small bottle of water was about a buck, and the lotto too of course. They butcher was a nice gentlemen and informative, but the guy at the register was just okay. Perhaps not as friendly as he should of been. Nice store..

It is always nice to have a solid local market. Park side definitely lives up to that role.

The guy pouring was so nice and knowledgeable. We liked the wine so much we grabbed a bottle and decided to drink it there. Added bonus: since it was one of the featured wines, the corkage was free. Bottlecraft is a bottle shop, bar, and cheese shop all in one small, perfectly curated space. They have a lovely outdoor seating area and some indoor seating as well. There are TVs inside, so we were able to catch some exciting March Madness moments while we hung out. When we paid, the host was super friendly and brought us a little ice bucket to keep our chilled wine cold, along with two glasses, and let us choose any table we wanted. They have a wide selection of beers on tap, plus tons of bottles and cans to go. I also appreciate the large section of canned mocktails and NA beers -- love seeing that. They carry wine, beer, vermouth, and more. In the back, tucked away, is Venissimo Cheese, which is amazing. You can order cheese plates, sandwiches, and other goodies to enjoy with your drinks. Definitely check out their website for upcoming events and their current tap list. Such a fun, easy, local spot -- I'll be back.

It's especially nice that they have beers from a lot of small business breweries. My guy and I got a bunch of different beers to try and they've been a hit or miss overall. I haven't tried the cheese shop yet that they have inside, but it's a great concept and on my list to try!

Like the most recent review mentioned, they are parking spot psychopaths. She nailed it. I asked to use the bathroom here, was told they didn't have one (i doubt that), and as I'm walking out to go across the street, the guy asks me how long im going to be parked there. Like really dude? Lol. I mumbled that it was a stupid question to ask me since I'm clearly only going to ne a few minutes, and he gets mad and calls me back in as if talking to an eight year old. I'm 42 years old mind you. Now I'm annoyed. This guy just has a weird vibe to him. I tell him that he needs to check how he talks to me, I'm a 42 year old with 19 years so far in the military. He starts going off on me. Tells me he will call the cops if I dont move my car. Unfortunately I had to come back to pick up my wife later (she was meeting a friend), and this dude is standing outside staring at me like he wants to fight. My wife notices and points it out. He sees me look back at him, and this guy starts coming around a van going "what's up!!??" Like he legit wants to fight. Granted, by the way, this skinny little weasel has the arms of a 12 year old, can't weigh more than 125. This guy is as scrawny as it gets. I was a gunner for Riverines and combat support for special forces, so clearly this little tough guy doesn't know how to pick his battles. His daddy, some goofy overweight dude, starts screaming at me like a psycho. My wife and I just laugh and walk at this point. It was pretty obvious that these guys have something mentally wrong with them. Anyways, use caution when coming here. Id highly recommend avoiding it altogether.

Also, compared to other corner stores, the customer service is nonexistent. Make sure to confirm the prices before you check out -- we were charged $6.99 for a single can of Tepache soda
