Fantastic! Our cocktails were delicious -- I highly recommend the Lemon Drop. We had fried okra and a special fried sushi appetizer, both of which were delicious! The steak medallions with roasted potatoes and steamed asparagus were, as always, top notch. So flavorful, and the potatoes' texture was crispy on the outside and buttery soft inside. First timer here. It's on the second floor which provides a great view if you sit outside on the deck. It's facing west and you might a bit of sun depending what time in the afternoon. Love this place!! My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful steak wrap here. I was pleasantly surprised with the food selection and great wine, beer and cocktail menu too! Update 3 - since my last posting this place has gone downhill. My boyfriend ordered a "special" off the drink menu (the drink was awful) the waitress came back to ask how he liked it and he said he didn't and she said yeah it's pretty weird and walked away. After that I sat with an empty glass for over 20 minutes before she came back to see if we needed anything. She finally brought the food out and my boyfriend ordered the Buffalo chicken wrap (shown in the picture) as you can tell there is only one small strip of chicken on the wrap. Should just rename it to the lettuce wrap at this point. Every single table was getting fed up with the lack of service. I understand completely times are tough and it's hard to find workers but when the ones you have are congregating behind the register and hardly any tables are being helped I think the problem needs to be fixed. At the end of the visit we had to walk up front to pay our bill because our "waitress" never brought our bill to us. read more

A wonderful meal starting with a special cocktail and mussels appetizer that HH and I shared. It was Scotland Night and the good news was that the Shepherd's Pie Special was tasty and filling. I had the bacon wrapped pork tenderloin. Yum. Perfect vegetables with the entree. The not so good news about Scotland Night was that on one side of the restaurant a woman with a microphone was pitching a guided trip to Scotland. This was probably lovely for the potential travelers but it was distracting for those of us enjoying dinner. At one point she was Skyping with a man in Scotland and we all got to hear his commentary. It certainly didn't ruin our dinner but it took from the ambiance a little. Otherwise, we loved our brief visit to Floyd, VA and our meal at the Parkway Grille. Great server. The dining highlight of our visit to the mountains of Southwest Virginia was the Saturday evening meal we enjoyed at the Parkway Grill in Floyd. Only open for a couple of months, it was recommended by my super VRBO host Diane Flynt (www.vrbo.com/746503) at our weekend mountain retreat accommodations in nearby Dugspur, VA. Our gracious server, Mikaela, suggested what I thought was a somewhat ambitious appetizer to start with. We took a chance on her recommendation and turns out it was great. Perfectly seared scallops were served atop a bed of very fresh, locally sourced watercress and mixed greens with red onions and strawberries. The greens were dressed with a homemade vinaigrette dressing and a house made parmesan crisp provided a nice salty touch. My entree was a blackened fresh Salmon steak atop a Mediterranean vegetable mix of peppers, onions, olives and artichokes awash in perfectly cooked noodles. It was an exceptional dish that I will try again at home. Our other entree was a bacon wrapped grilled pork tenderloin with a wonderful smoked taste, tender and delicious. The pork was accented by a reduction made from locally made Foggy Ridge Cider, which is sadly no longer being produced. A medley of red, white and purple roasted potatoes added color as well as taste along with some well cooked Southern collard greens. We thoroughly enjoyed this meal and hope to return again in the future. The restaurant is located above a health food store and is only accessible by stairs from the front. Handicap parking and ground level access is available by driving to the rear of the building. read more

I would give this place a zero star review but the avocado fries were good. Where to start? First, I get it places are short staffed and servers and kitchen staff are trying their best in a difficult time pretty much every where. I always take this into consideration especially having worked in the service industry for a good part of my life. We were sat rather quickly by a friendly hostess or server. After about 15 minutes our server appeared and informed us they were out of EVERY IPA, cheese curds, steak and cheese and crab cakes. Ummm it's 5:30 and you close at 7.. why?? . Ok fine, we adjust despite the fact my husband is a bit of a beer snob and only drinks IPA's and my son had his heart set on cheese curds and steak and cheese. Sometimes it's harder for him to adjust but he did. We got the "loaded" fries which tasted good but definitely were NOT loaded, hardly any cheese or bacon. The avocado fries were delicious and that's about all that was. My daughter got the noodle "bowl" served on a dish, weird and pretty gross, unless you like rubbery noodles and overcooked chicken. I got the Parkway pasta with shrimp, this was probably the worst dish of all. It didn't look appetizing and it really wasn't. Way too much drizzle and too sweet. It looked like it was thrown on the plate with no presentation whatsoever. I know it's not Chopped but this would get you CHOPPED!! Speaking of chopped, my Husband got the chopped salad which was supposed to be served on romaine hearts, it was not, and the chicken again overcooked like leather. My son got the Buffalo chicken wrap and said it was just ok, too spicy but he omitted the lettuce and blue cheese which could have caused that. Our server was obviously swamped and I guess she tried but she never told us the specials and when we asked for silverware after our apps were finished she said "you should've asked me sooner" uhhhh ok where were you? Also it still took another 10 minutes to get the silverware. Just a terrible experience. We did not care about waiting because again we get it. But we can get much better service and much better food elsewhere. read more

I brought my boyfriend to Floyd for his birthday and we stopped by Parkway for dinner. For dinner, he had the special prime rib and LOVED it! :) Our waitress was so sweet and thoughtful the entire time. Came in for an early dinner (because we were both already hungry!) arrived around 5pm and decided to sit outside. Hostess allowed us to pick our own seats so we choose a tall two seater along the side for the best views. Didn't order drinks but they had some unique ones. Started with some avocado fries that were delicious, literally my husband and I were racing for the next one! I ordered the surf and turf- and my husband got the special it was a NY strip. Both arrived pretty quick and super fresh. I'm not a huge shrimp fan but I could of ate my weight in those- freaking good! Steaks were prepared to order and delicious.
