I needed a change from the traditional barbershop that caters to men half my age. I am bit older…read morenow and need more from my stylist visit than sitting on a human assembly line waiting for my name or nonchalant wave calling me for interrupted service, and less than calming environment after a long week at work. It's not bad, I just wanted, No, needed something better. Walking into DC Homme, I realized it would be like no other barbershop experience. Keyword: Experience. The grooming lounge (2 floors) is extraordinary with the historic memorabilia and art hanging on rich, dark brown - mahogany wood walls, you'd expect in a stately law firm. There are grooming samples at the front door, a men's clothing shop, and other services all under one roof (Brian gave me a tour). The mood, music, comfy couch/chairs, and wall mounted flat screen TVs made you feel like you were stepping into a major city salon with all the comforts of home. I was Brian's guest (not customer) and it felt like it. Brian focuses his attention on your grooming, conversation, and nothing else. His approach is methodical without being mechanical. You can tell he thought out every detail of your cut, asks the right questions, and engages you in light, meaningful conversation that helps you connect, which is important between a man and his stylist. Your hair cut looks great, after the highly anticipated flourish to every haircut with an essential oil (can't tell all the details - you have to try it for yourself - it's amazing). You leave feeling like someone took the time to provide you more than a hair cut - DC Homme gives you an experience, which is worth the $35 - $40. Yes, I could go back to paying $27 for a hair cut, but I have more appreciation for finer things in life such as the high degree of professionalism, atmosphere, conversation, and genuine care Brian and his colleagues put into their guest's experience that's definitely worth the $8 - 15 difference (Exceptional Experience Fee). Why would I go anywhere else? And, if you are man - neither should you.

Best haircut of my life. Great experience. Walked in feeling like $1. Walked out feeling like a…read moremillion more.

My main barber was out of town so I found myself frantically looking for a replacement. I called…read moreThursday after reading reviews on yelp and google and was confident that someone would be able to give me a good if not great cut. Chad was that guy...or so I thought. I made a 9 am appointment asked for the price and explained that my sons football game was t 10 am and that I had to leave at 10 to make it to Silver spring and not miss much. Fast forward to Saturday. I arrived at 8:55 and asked for Chad. They said he wasn't there to take a seat and he would be here soon. 9:15 no Show, 9:30 no show, 9:45 now show, and finally at 9:55 he strolls in and doesn't come and get me from the waiting area. He put on his smock and stood around like he didn't show up almost an hour late. I walked up and said I'm your 9:00 appointment. He mumbles a quaint "my bad!" I show him what I want and he gets me out in 30 minutes. I missed the whole 1st half of my sons game and he was not a happy camper. The only reason I chose to stay is that I had my 20 year Hs reunion in NJ and my Christmas Photoshoot that afternoon. I was stuck between a rock and a hard place and that made me feel very uncomfortable and unappreciated as a new customer. I definitely paid for the reservation, but I wasn't willing to haggle. I was already livid and late. Next time you make an appointment be on time. The haircut was decent maybe a 7.5 out of 10, but time is money and the customer service was definitely lacking.

I have been going to this barbershop faithfully for the last 3 months on a biweekly schedule. A…read moregood barber can be found but a great barber is hard to find. Look no further than Kevin. Kevin has my father and I looking like new men with these skin fades. I'm old fashioned so I like the fact that he is on time and professional. The ambiance of the shop is peaceful and the flooring stays glossy. I stroll in there like I'm court-side at Staple Center in LA. In the morning I enjoy listening to the radio or watching premium cable! This barbershop also is COVID compliant.

Saw their tent during Taste of Wheaton, waited two hours and left without a cut. An hour give or…read moretake for a cut is long but not unreasonable. But let me tell you, the first guy took 45 min, second guy was 75 min in and still going by the time I left. The first barber (light-skinned latino) took 45 min, worked hard and did an excellent job on an older man. Honestly, while I waited and saw him work, I wanted my cut with him. Unfortunately he left to go inside their building and was replaced by this young black haired latino. He was working on this guy who walked in with a Phil Foden cut and 75 min in, largely unchanged but with a clean trim on the sides. (There was hardly any hair on the ground ) One reason his cut was taking so long was this barber was too busy live-streaming on his phone, occasionally looking at peoples' comments. It also didn't help he was cutting at a snail's pace. It's one thing to be attentive to detail (something the first barber was good at). It's another to just go hair by hair. Bad for business, wasting peoples' time, so much that I don't feel like stopping by the actual shop. Hope the business sees this and if they do, please let me know the name of that guy. If I ever do stop by, I'd like to avoid him at all cost.
