I couldn't say enough good things about this place. I have been following this business on IG (REALWILDKUTZ) for a while and what stood out to me was Ron's push to help and unit his community. I decided to take my 12 and 20 yo sons. I was able to make a same day appointment. Customer service via phone A+. The first thing that caught my eye was that there were not a lot of people waiting. As we sat and waited (we were like 15 minutes early) Ron was cutting his clients hair (kid about age 10) and having a conversation with his parents. I noticed a very clean, urban, modern shop. We were welcomed immediately and greeted and asked if we would like anything to drink and directed to a little station. There was a nice seating area and multiple areas to plug in usb devices (win!) and he was gearing up to move his products further back to provide a small library for adults and kids.. (like with REAL books!) in no time my kids and I were engaged in the convo as well. When this young man's cut was done he was cheesing ear to ear but not more then Ron was to see the kids smile. (He takes pride in his art) When our turn came Ron directed his attention at my son AJ, and made sure to profile him lol style/wants/expectations and included me as well. During the cut we talked about EVERYTHING I'm talking about from politics to style, to upcoming events he has for the community, "when I was your age" stories, Art and upcoming plans for his shop. It was a true family barbershop feel. I never write long reviews but this is how WOWed I am with this experience. Tia his apprentice is JUST as lovely, I cant wait to also work with her. I also found out that :: Ron is also a stylist.. so I'm super excited to get my appointment/consult with him. Of Course my kids have a new barber now. Just to give you all some background for the past 12 years of my life I have lived in 6 different cities throughout the states and abroad. I tell you this because these cities that Ive had the opportunity to live in were definitely not lacking in their local barbershop talent. I have moved around from Dallas, Houston, Detroit, Chicago, Orlando, and Mainland St. Kitts& Nevis (Caribbean). I will say this finding the best cut has been a challenge at times and my awkward lack of hair growth doesn't make things any easier. For me it's not about getting any regular cut, but I have to find someone who is a true master of their art. Someone who can cut my hair but make it look like I have more than what I started with if that makes sense. To add, I have a beard and thats my pride and glory, so it's imperative that my barber knows how to shape up, sculpt, and trim using scissors. Anyways, point of the story is I do an extensive bit of research before choosing barber. I read reviews, source social media and sometimes even observe people do work in person before I sit in a chair. Call me crazy, but I only have a little hair left so I really gotta make the best of what I have left. So, eventually, after moving down to the greater Baltimore area I found Real Wild Cutz and after doing a bit of research I realized Ron was the guy to see. This is not to say the rest are lacking in any way. But, if you check him out on Style seat he has a whole list of services very few barbers offer these days. Anything from full steam facials, fades, eyebrows, and more. He uses skills that only a true master barber would have in their arsenal. The guy, on paper, looked like a champ. Lets just say he did nothing to disappoint in person either. The greatest thing I believe Ron has to offer aside from his obvious outstanding 20+ years of haircutting experience, is the amazing environment he provides. The entire shop resonates the same comforting experience. I have never been to a barber shop and had an experience so engaging and truly left me feeling fresh not just physically but mentally and spiritually as well. Normally, things get awkward and eventually either you end up staring off into space traversing the depths of your thoughts or just blank out. However, with Real Wild Cutz and Ron specifically, whom Ive been going to for the past 6 months now, is always a blast. We have meaning full conversations about everything and anything you can think about and yes, you can bring your kids. These guys are all very professional they do not use profanity and speak with maturity. Ron specifically is extremely educated in not only his trade but many things. Having a conversation is effortless. While he may be a businessman, he loves his trade for the satisfaction of the client and even goes as far as offering sessions where he personally teaches you not only about running your own business but about cutting hair. He is the type of man who wants to expand his knowledge of his trade and is willing to teach it to others in the process. Did I mention, he even makes his own natural products and they are amazing. Honestly, a man of such stature is to be respected in my opinion. Before I get too off topic I would like to leave you with one thing. Each and every single time I've gone to Ron he has taken the time to ask me what I liked and did not like about my last cut and makes changes so each cut is better than the last--even when I thought I wasn't possible. This type of investment in clientele is not limited to Ron, rather it expands to all those who run chairs in the shop. Ron chooses his team wisely. The dynamic is beyond wonderful and words will not do justice you have to come experience it for yourself. If you choose anywhere else I guarantee you will miss out. read more
