Big fan of the atmosphere here. They play some trendy house-like music but at a volume low enough that you can still enjoy a conversation with your dinner mates. The seating is varied, and you can take your pick of bar stool, chaise lounge, or just a plain old chair. I came for a reason... to check the famed burger off of my Twin Cities bucket list. Along with the burger, I shared a side of fries with my friend, and I was not disappointed. The burger is incredibly rich and made with three types of meat (ground sirloin, ribeye, brisket). There are numerous times a month when I wake up in a hot sweat after dreaming about the glory of devouring a Parlour burger. Two patties, crispy on the outside and oh so perfect on the inside. A wonderfully toasted bun. The simplest cheese. And nothing else. I was a vegetarian for nearly 2 years and then I ate this and there's no going back. As I've publicly stated, there is no diet, fad, or way of life worthy of restricting the Parlour burger. It is perfection. The cocktails aren't bad either. The service is pretty good. My recommendation is to either go early in the night or on a weekday so you can actually have a conversation with someone and, at the same time, appreciate the renovations they've made! read more

WOW. This is the kind of place I could lounge in for hours. I love the sultry, cozy interior, the music, and the pretty light fixtures and mirrors on the wall. Am I in 1925, or 2015? Couldn't really tell, and it felt marvelously prohibited and liberating at the same time. What a glorious find, located directly below Borough. It's a sort of cool, dark hiding place that you enter into by walking down a short flight of stairs. "Welcome to my underground lair" - couldn't help but hear Dr. Evil's voice in my head. We breezed into this speakeasy on a warm Friday evening in April, and it was busy but not so much so that we couldn't find a place to sit. Once we were seated, a lovely lady greeted us and provided glasses of water and menus. Then I heard the Beatles playing in the background, followed by Elton John's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road and I was transported back in time to another place, another woman. Not the one I am now, because she has been transformed due to life's many mishaps and metamorphoses . In getting this glimpse of the past, I decided to embrace my future and order a drink. We got the Dance with the Devil. The smoothest bourbon, raspberry syrup and cardamom soda. With a mint leaf. Absolutely delicious. Sis wanted dessert, so she got the Olive Oil: Cake, lemon, brown butter and Rosemary Ice-cream which is made upstairs at Borough. It was really only about 3 bites, but we shared it. Interesting flavor combination that definitely worked. I saw people were ordering this burger which also looked divine, and large bowls of french fries which looked like they could feed about 3 people, good for sharing. Getting those next time! WHY THE HECK DID I WAIT THIS LONG TO TRY THE BURGER?! That was the thought that kept running through my head as I delicately made my way through the Parlour burger, trying hard not to drool all over myself and my dinner companions. The burger is seriously unbelievable, though I was glad to split mine with a friend as it is very greasy. Good burger. Nothing to write home about but a good simple (meat and cheese) burger. Fries were also very good (super crispy and thin). Drinks are also great. It's a great place to go on a date and get a drink or just hang with friends and have a bite to eat. I definitely recommend it. read more

This place is pretty cool, has a New York vibe to it. The drinks are verrrry strong - and that's spoken by someone with a high alcohol tolerance. The only problem is the service. I will attribute it to the fact that Parlour hasn't been open very long and the management hasn't gotten a chance to streamline the processes and fix the kinks. Waitstaff and bartenders are very nice and accommodating. However, the service is slower than it should be for the level of busyness. Also, the waitstaff doesn't seem to be very knowledgeable about the items on the menu, including drinks (once again, I'm guessing because the place is new). I'm planning to return in a month or so in hopes that the above issues are resolved and adding another star to this review. read more

Put on your fancy pants and head to the Parlour for some tasty drinks. Our waitress was very friendly and extremely knowledgable, she was a great resource for understanding the options. The cocktails are pricey but amazing, I will gladly pay $12 for the 7 Year Itch again. The only reason I am not giving it a 5 is because it took a while for the bar to make our drinks and it was a little too dark and loud for my taste. Even though I don't think it's perfect I can say that I will be back again, the 7 Year itch really is so yummy, I need that cocktail in my future. read more

Tried some good but not mind-blowing cocktails at Parlour. Everyone agreed they were a little on the sweet side for our liking, but they definitely weren't bad. The standout, highlight, by the far best thing here, is the burger. It's "boring" in that it's only bun, meat, cheese, pickles...but that's all you need. Really. This isn't your over-the-top, look-at-me burger. This is like the Clooney of burgers. Calm, composed, and not over the top. I would confidently say that this is in the top 10, probably even top 3, burgers that I've ever had. Seriously. I think they must make it with 50% fat, then griddle-sear it or something....but the flavors are outta this world. I never would have ordered the burger if not for my friend's urging. What's not to like about Parlour? There's drinks, great food and fun atmosphere! After spending New Year's Eve upstairs at the bar in Borough drinking free champagne, we decided it was time to try the basement bar since we loved the restaurant so much! We went over the weekend after spending the day the zoo for a child's birthday party, and this place is fantastic to hang out with some friends on Saturday night. Our group of five managed to secure some chairs and a small coffee table in the back corner, and ordered drinks and appetizers from the menu. Since only one of us had been here before, and we were all pretty hungry we kind of went all out on the food. The burger was so great, that we decided to order two more (remember there were 5 of us!) And we also ordered the donut, which was delicious, as well as the cheese tray-which I thought was pretty good too. As far as drinks, we all got a mixture of wine, beer and cocktails-can't remember what we all had for sure (this was our last time of the night, we were tired and tipsy) All in all, I'd say our venture was a success! My only advice is to carpool if possible, it was late on a Saturday night and we took two cars and parking in this area of town is hectic as it is-but with all the great options, people are coming and going often and two spots were secured. read more

I've been to Parlour quite a few times in the last 6 months. I like it for dates and nights with my girlfriends. The last time I was there, my date and I stopped after a show and grabbed a bite to eat. We sat at the bar and ordered a burger and fries. We decided on sharing this since he knows I sometimes eat like a bird. Tonight was one of those nights until I tasted the fries. Perfectly salty and amazing after a warm night. I couldn't stop eating the fries. I felt a bit disgusted knowing that I ate over half of the plate of fries, but they are deliciously salty. I am not normally a fan of salt, but wowzers are these good. Now the burger...or shall I say cheeseburger I did not eat. I took one bit after realizing it was soaked in cheese. I love cheese curds but I do not like cheeseburgers. There is something about hamburger meat soaked in cheese that turns me off. The bite of cheeseburger that I did have was deliciously juicy but mega cheesy. My date devoured my portion before I could apologize for being a picky eater. I suppose it fully benefited him in this situation. I like coming here for drinks but the couches in the front corner can get a little dirty. No one needs to see you makeout for 30 minutes while hogging the only seats in the bar. Other than that, I would recommend Parlour for a casual, yet trendy date night hidden away in a basement. Oddly enough, I love this place. I've always been more of a punk bar/dive bar/ shithole bar kinda guy, but after the burger I'm sold. Oh and the White Russians. Oh and the sidecars. Long story short, the "mixologists" are good. God forbid I call them bartenders. The clientele are young hip professional types. And I mean artsy fartsy professional types. I'm not taking about the young pricks who get a degree in "banking,"buy an unnecessarily expensive suit to wear to their lame job downtown, and pay $400 for a haircut. The people hanging out here are the tolerable young, hip artistic professionals. And the house music is always surprisingly good--a lot of old punk and new wave music. Bear in mind you are gonna pay for quality. And it's not the fastest service in town. Think they serve the unbelievable burger until midnight most days of the week. Parlour was my favorite drinking hole while visiting the twin cities. We wandered a few blocks to this place after a less than stellar experience at Toast. It was not very crowded and we were able to grab a table with ease. Our server was spot on with recommendations and brought us over water right away. I read a few reviews complaining about the timing of the cocktails but Im used to hand crafted cocktails taking much longer than then they did at Parlour. Price to cocktail ratio was spot on with most drinks were under 12.00. I will say my only negative is the throngs of drunk dudes in T-shirts. This place is pretty classy, I think Parlour needs to establish a dress code and let the bros who want to rock Elmo T's stay out on the streets. i would not suggest coming with your entire posse Parlour seems more suited for intimate groups. read more

The Warehouse District is quickly starting to monopolized the lounge bar scene (if the Kitty Cat Klub relocate then I'm going to think something is awry). The set up is very cool, slight walk down to a spacious bar. The vibe is trendy and mellow. Good date spot with push seating in the back. Had a few whiskey cocktails, they were solid. Not on par with Marvel Bar but in the same ball park. The appetizer menu was a little sparse (given the restaurant upstairs, I thought that was odd), the cheese plate was tasty though. This is a low 4 to Marvel's high 4 on my scale. You should definitely check this place out though if you're a lounge bar fan. read more

The patties are apparently made from 3 kinds of beef and really there's little else that needs to go into the burger. Parlour is in the same league as Marvel Bar. A drinks-only cocktail bar beneath a new, trendy restaurant. In this case, Borough. It's a cool space with a variety of couch-like seats and, unlike Marvel Bar, has tons of windows. This is the kind of place where you read the drink menu and don't know what 90% of the ingredients are. They only have a couple of wine options downstairs (if you want wine variety you need to go to Borough). This is a place that focuses on the cocktails. The bartender carefully crafts each drink, muddling and spritzing each one. It's impressive, but not my kind of scene. Also, they don't really serve food. They have a very limited food menu, and while what I had was great (mushroom risotto and a cheese plate), for the price the portions were extremely disappointing. I'm going to just share and let everyone decide for them selves. I went here w my nephew, his wife and my brother on a Wednesday night about 7pm. My nephew said they had great burgers which they did. The food was good but the experience was not so much. when we got there my nephew went in and we hung back in the hall as my brother has a health issue and can't wear a mask because of this. My nephew went ahead and she saw us peaking around waiting to see what our next steps would be. She immediately stopped my nephew and told him everyone needed a mask to walk to a table. I tried to explain about the health issue but she said my brother must hold it to his face which he did. So, We were seated and end of conversation right or so we thought. About 5 min later the manager came over and asked if we were having problems w the mask or something to that extent. Honestly it was a bit hard to hear her because she was pretty far back from our table and the moved a step closer. Anyways, We said no issues and my niece said we were fine and seated now. The manager reintegrated to us AGAIN what the hostess said about a mask must be worn when we left the table But then added that we MUST wear one while ordering. I'd never heard this rule before so I asked, "So everyone in here needs to where a mask while ordering?" and she said yes so I watched. Three young guys ordered a second round of drinks -no masks, but did put masks on when their food was brought. Two tables in bar both w a black and woman... no masks once they sat down Ordering or not. New table across from us. A man two women no masks when ordering and the red headed waitress was all up in their business. There was a nicly dressed couple next to us in their late 40s and honestly I didn't see anyone go to their table at all as I think they may have been finishing. Our waitress seemed to be concerned about doing her job But didn't see her much either. My nephew had to put on a mask twice and go find her to order a beer and a second time to get napkins at the bar for our yummy burgers. The drinks were good too. The bill was over $100 for three burgers, fries, and three drinks. On the way out I asked about napkins and silver being placed on the table when being sat but the hostess said the servers do that because of Covid. Not sure what that meant. read more

Went here to try the burger - phenomenal. Cocktails were good too. I hate sweet cocktails and the bartender listened to what I liked and offered his suggestion, it was a perfect gin cocktail for those like me that like to drink spirits but not if they're doused in sugar water. My parents and uncle thought it was a bit too loud to have a conversation, but as someone in their mid 20s, I loved the ambiance. The service wasn't great though which is why I'm only giving them 4 stars. Ordered three burgers, a salad, and the duck. Took forever to get our food, and then we got four burgers? Confused but hungry, I told the waitress we'd eat the fourth burger. Then our duck and salad came as we were halfway through our meal. Ended up getting the fourth burger comped, and had the duck for lunch the next day. It was good - but burger was better! Side note, had some fries and they were too salty. Just stick with the burger and get your carbs via cocktails! This is definitely a "date night" vibe - and if possible, I'd only go here with one other person. The staff does an awesome job at making sure everyone is taken care of even when it's clearly hard to get around. The decor is beautiful, and has a dark, mysterious interior which seems fitting for the space without being stuffy. Burger is expensive but LORD it's worth it. It actually beats The Nook in St Paul for best burger. Oh, and I didn't even know I liked old fashioneds (?) until I came here and had the best one ever. My review is for the Parlor food truck - in one word, Amazing. You have to be pretty confident to only offer 1 burger and fries. It did not disappoint. There's something delightful in not offering a range of options that diners have to choose from. I applaud that Parlor knows what they do well and focuses on that. Best bar around! I've had great service every time I've been, amazing handmade cocktails with lots of variety. I recently discovered the amazing food as well! I've tried most of the menu, all of the appetizers are good, it hard to choose one, and when I'm really hungry the burger is one of the best I've had in a long time!
