Have to give this location an average rating as we didn't end up purchasing anything here. What previous reviews say about these folks not answering the phone is 100% true. Went on an adventure to a few of these locations and our hope was to call in advance in making sure what we needed was in stock. We called about 4 times and decided to take a risk and drive over. The staff weren't super knowledgable in what we were looking for- one employee didn't know the difference between the types of wood we needed. We also noticed that the three employees working there were letting the phone ring non stop- even when we were the only customers there. For sure its one of the only places in the area, but consider spending a few extra minutes traveling to a different location or other store. read more

I was looking at these reviews and they are all terrible. I have to say, I've had basically solid fast and good experiences every time I've been there, which is several over the last five+ years. The place is bustling most of the time and several things are going on at once around the yard so I'd say they manage the flow as well as can be expected. I'll keep going there for sure. read more

Stopped by the West Linn, OR facility just the other day to return a pallet and pickup cement. None of their several employees were wearing a face mask. Asked several employees to stop approaching me and on each occasion they each looked very confused as to why I did not want them to approach me without any face mask!!! Don't preorder! We did and the order didn't come in when promised. What's more, there was no communication from the store whatsoever. We had to call them to find out the order never came in. Terrible customer service. I ordered all of the wood I needed for a deck project at a rental property of mine. It was delivered Friday evening and by Sunday we realized that we were short 26 2x4's that were on the invoice. This left our second story deck without rails. On Monday morning I found out those were on back order so that is why we didn't get them. I was never told this during the sales process and was charged for the full load. When I went into the store to ask questions about a product. Instead of someone interested in helping me, all I got was one word answers or "I don't know" (if you don't know, maybe find someone who does?). When I asked if the product was there to look at, I was told to go out back and try and find someone to help (with the qualifier of "they're probably too busy to help"). So I found the nearest exit door and left. Part lumber will never get my business. read more

Simple question to verify stock before taking the long drive - took 6 calls over 2 days (disconnected twice) and on hold 10 plus minutes - finally someone answered and confirmed. Using Parr as extensive inventory not on pricing - staff is great once you get them but they are overwhelmed and management needs to hire more quality and knowledgeable employees to increase customer service read more

Excellent experience at Parr Lumber today. The salesperson was quick and courteous, another employee volunteered to drop the rest of the lumber by my nearby work site if I couldn't fit it all in my vehicle (because scheduled delivery by truck would have meant a wait of about a week), and the loading person, Brian, went out of his way to be helpful (really personable and good at figuring out what will help that particular customer). I was tired, dehydrated, and dirty from gardening for hours and it was such a pleasure to get kind and helpful service. Thank you. read more

They sell wood. It isn't complicated. They also sell Simpson ties and fasteners. Pretty much everything you need to build a house, frame in structural bracing or anything else wood wise. The counter guys are friendly, The yard guys are cool too. They even have a lady working in the yard. She is also super nice and drives fork lift better than most people I have met. read more

Don't recommend working with Kent. He does not think beyond data entry. I needed a professional to assist in ordering all the supplies for a decking project and thought I could find that at Parr. Little did I know, the industry professional was less than professional with his industry knowledge or customer service. After over $7k project, his $300 mistake at the end ruined the entire transaction and will make me never return to parr again! read more

We picked up boards we needed for siding for our house and after we got home we realized that the employee gave us the wrong size for all our boards. We called to see if we could bring them back to exchange for the correct size. The employee informed us they were closing in 10 minutes and since it would take us 15-20 minutes to get there we wouldn't be able to. We asked since it was their error if someone could stay 10 minutes late to get us the correct boards and make it right. The employee told us they wouldn't stay and that since we were charged for the correct size boards it was basically our problem and would have to cut the boards down ourselves. I understand if we made the error than that's our fault. But when the error was made by your employees and then they refuse to stay and extra 10 minutes to make it right?! I have gone to this location for years and had good experiences up until this year (2018) Much of the orders I got had very poor quality wood and I had to return it. When I called the third time, I was told the district manager would help deal with it. This was not the case and in the end, Scott, the manager pretty much told me the wood I was getting was their top quality. I went to Home Depot and found the same boards for considerably less and triple the quality. It is disappointing when a long time valued consumer/merchant relationship is compromised by the vendor, blowing me off AFTER I spent near 10k on very poor quality wood. They did nothing to mirror the 20 year loyalty, and pretty much , just blew me off. Being in the beginning stages of a total remodel, I am finding another vendor besides Parr. Scott clearly demonstrated that people who buy from Parr are not valued and he does nothing (including returning messages) to amend the dissatisfaction of his customers. Where once upon a time, Parr could be counted on for superior quality product and very good customer rapport, both quality and FAIRNESS in how they work with complaints make this store unworthy to support. Others in my area who had similar experiences have referred me to Shur-wood. It is a bit further, but well worth it! I visited and saw the product and it is way superior than the unacceptable wood that Parr has delivered. I have been given other remodeling places to look into as well, 52nd Hardware and another old time place that HAVE kept their value of customer relations a top priority. I will bite the bullet with Parr and bring my business to a place that honors their customers in a fair manner. read more

We called ahead to check prices on decking. Their prices were $5 cheaper per board than Home Depot or Lowes so we rushed right over. We had the most incredible help. We thought we'd have to take a couple trips (and as we got there just before closing time we'd have to come back the next day) but the gentleman in the yard said it would be no problem at all to get it all in in one trip. Stayed past closing to bring down new pallets of wood and helped pick the best boards, loaded the van, helped make sure the load was secure. We saved over $205 and have a higher quality of wood.
