I don't understand all this negativy and bad reviews toward this shop! First they have all you may need as a hair supply, a bunch of hair extension (Fake hair, real hair) and all the colors you can imagine! I can't figure out who is the rude lady that everybody are talking about in those reviews since the lady who works there she is everything besides rude! How come customer service is a lost art? When you buy a product that either A) does not work to your liking or B) appears defective and C) the store has a BIG sign saying "refunds/exchanges only with receipt", why is it so bloody impossible to exchange something? !?!? I bought a braid spray moisturizing product that was too oily and heavy for my hair...yes, I USED IT - three spritz's at the most. So two days later I went back to this place to ask for an exchange. Mind you I had the original receipt, I had paid in cash and it was only missing MAYBE less than a half ounce of product. The first words out of the sales persons mouth was "Oh, you used it! We cannot take it back.. how will we sell it?!?! WHAT?!?!?! Are you kidding me? How was I to determine it would not work for me if I did not USE it, and again ever so briefly? Missy ignored me as I pointed out their big-ass "REFUND" sign so I asked to speak with the owner. Now this being a predominately Black neighborhood these types of stores are mainly owned by non-Black individuals, who in my years of experience, could care less about the neighborhood or it's inhabitants. For the majority of them $$$ is the bottom line. So the female of the three owners chimed in by saying "You used it...how can I sell it if you used it? Mind you she never looked me in the eyes, never addressed me directly, but just looked at the bottle of product!!! Sweetie, LOOK AT YOUR CUSTOMERS!!!! No one is asking you to re-sell it....just exchange it! They all stood firm in their resolve NOT to assist me and left me standing in the front of the store as I asked all the legal questions about not honoring their sign, poor customer service, etc. Ok, so it's not the most organized of beauty supply stores; so they have a sign on the front door "no sunglasses, no hat, no hoodie", but I USED to like going there to find my "hard-to-find" hair-care products for my African-American hair. What a shame...but it looks like SALLY'S will be my store of choice. Once I had to return some goopy hair pudding stuff to SALLY'S - and I had clearly used it - and they happily refunded/exchanged the product for me without ANY DRAMA WHATSOEVER!!! Several issues with this business that are very concerning to me. Let's start with the parking please don't ever drive in this parking lot you will never get out mentally normal. The parking lot is very small and once you pull in people pull in behind you without knowing how many spaces there are so you have to wait until they pull out to back out a real nightmare. The store is cramped with overpriced products that are outdated and partially open by customers who lack common sense shopping ethics. The attendant is impatient and the store owner is rude and disconnected from customers and simple service, he acts like he is a millionaire playing hair supply owner. The only reason they got my money was I had a function to attend and had no time to go anywhere else. I will never return. read more

Amazing customer service. The kindest lady took her time and helped find the perfect hair within my budget. This place in a gem.

This place is extremely messy. It is small and the cashiers stand around and talk about nothing all day. I hate going in there. Today will be my last time. I called and asked if they had a particular item available. The lady who answered, said she was going to check and sat the phone down, then I heard her talking to someone else. I figured I'd wait because the other person was a paying customer and should be cashed out first. I was on hold for 10 minutes listening to them talk about YouTube videos and the videos she saw. She completely ignored what I asked for so after all that time I figured she forgot so I hung up and called back. You know she didn't even answer the phone. You could at least answer and say it's a little busy now can you call back in 30 minutes or something. I am done with this place. I get tired of seeing them hold 20 minute conversations about something personal when customers are waiting. I am going to start ordering online. read more

Take your money elsewhere! I bought hair here before $69.99 + tax, and it was nice but the customer service here is zero!!!!! No one helps you, you get ignored when you ask a question, absolutely nothing!!!! The owner and the staff act like they are doing you a favor! Exactly what others have stated on here!!! HORRIBLE! My mom and I felt like we werent wanted, after asking questions and seeing them walk past us, we drove down Lake to the other beauty supply in the same strip mall as payless, where they were so helpful and my mom found same hair for much cheaper! $39.99, $30 less than what I paid!! For their horrible customer service, they lost $200+ which they would have received from us a few hrs ago! I hope the owner reads this and reevaluates their organizational structure and strategy!! Yes, they have a lot of products to choose from, but customer service..., in particular, the OWNER of this business is horrible. I have patronized this store several times with the hopes that customer service would improve. NOT! The owner acts as if he is doing you a favor by having the store there, when in the long run, we (the Community) are making him rich. If we were treated like valued customers (especially when I am spending MY hard earned money) then I would not be this upset. Today is my last time going and I will now order online. IF NOT FOR THE ATTITUDES, this place would be more of a 4 Star stable for me in Pasadena, especially since they used to carry a greeting card of me in there! no lie! That's another story :) Anyways...... They've had many owners throughout the years and the feel of the store changes each time too.... They definitely have more products and hair as time has passed, so I give them kudos for that... but their service really sucks to me..tsk.tsk...SMH...there's not enough lipgloss, sunglasses, fake gold earrings & weave hair that can make up for the attitudes..... I always feel like my guard has to be up when I go there, and always end up leaving with a sort of attitude or an unsatisfactory feeling of uncertainty about the things I've purchased... and to be honest I only go there because I try to patron places where there are people alike when it comes to having workers there who truly understand the dynamics of buying hair & what products are needed for upkeep... especially because I can't always be there to help my client's make the right choices. WRONG. The people who work there are habitual button pushers and if it weren't for me NOT really needing their help to get what I want, I would probably stop going there.... I'm surprised by all the low ratings. I had a great experience here. The saleswoman was patient with me and explained to me the differences in hair. She told me what was on sale, and was willing to show me where the different types of hair were located in the shop. It's a little pricey, but at least you receive better service. read more

I've been coming here for years and while it's not the most inexpensive place I favor it over the other stores in the area. They have a good selection and people are willing to help you find just what you need. Just be aware of the fact that the owner is a pretty rude guy, and pay him little to no attention. Worse mistake ever!!! Horrible service, rude employee, actually I think it was the owner, which makes it even worse. I walked in asking for a nexxus shampoo, she told me that no beauty supply sold that anymore, but I could find it at a talons or vons. I've been buying this shampoo for years in a Hastings ranch beauty supply, Hans to be exact, wonderful service by the way. I just didn't feel like driving the extra 10 minutes, worse mistake ever!! She looked at me as if I were asking her for pert plus or vidal sassoon. As I was walking out after hearing her obnoxious response, she kept blurting out super markets where I could find it. Reality check lady you're not in Beverly hills, I've actually picked this shampoo up at the Beverly center many times. Don't waste your times ladies, their selection is awful, all she Carries is oils and clearance joico shampoos and plastic hair pieces. I have been a patron of Pasadena Beauty Supply for years. I live in the neighborhood and it is convenient for me to stop in after work and weekends. They ladies who work there have always been very helpful recommending products for my individual needs. On occasion, when they do not have a particular product I need, the clerk or the owner will order it for me. The only thing negative I can say is the parking is really bad sometimes because of a very popular restaurant that shares the lot with them. read more

Enough is enough. I have frequented this store over the years because of the urging of a couple of stylists and I've had enough! The last straw was this past week when I went in with my daughter to ask about the top crochet brand hair and was told, and I quote, "It doesn't matter. Any of these brands will work depending on the style (a rude 20 something pointing to the heaps of hair thrown all over the place)." I asked again about better brands to no avail. Then I asked an older woman who was nicer but she simply told me, "This is what everyone buys." She had no clue about the products. Then I thought to myself, instead of saying out loud, why are we putting up with this? The store is packed with different products and I can't get an informed answer. And why is the store still a mess - with hair strewn all over the place and us tripping over brands falling on the floor? Why isn't this store neat and easy to walk through? We did find another store in the area, but I'm not giving any recommendations. We have to demand a change or none will happen. We must speak up. read more
