After I pickup my supra I noticed the exhaust sound wasn't consistent which Flow Master and lifted the car to discover a generic no brand muffler and very poor welded job. When I confronted Omar, he said that despite my muffler not saying it was a Flow Master. I called Flowmaster the company to confirm, and they let me know they do not create Flowmaster mufflers without the Flowmaster brand emblem. Advance Muffler also had installed a 'magma flow" muffler on my son's Acura Integra a few months back so I also lifted his car to find that his muffler was also generic with no brand markings. I spoke to Omar about the situation and he refunded my Supra install and stated he is not a muffler guy and didn't know. I believe this shop often claims to sell you brand name mufflers, like Flowmaster at a premium price and installs generic no name mufflers not expecting customers to ever check.

How can you ignore all of the 5 star reviews? I believe when I first looked they had 170. Here's my experience. Called and asked for Alen whom answered the phone at about 9:40am on Monday. He said he was open and it would only take about 10-15 minutes. Drove down to see him. Upon arrival he had one customer being tested. Waited maybe 5 minutes before he started testing my vehicle. 10 minutes later he was done and my 04 Jeep Grand Cherokee passed with flying colors. Total cost was $40. I hesitated of going to Alen as I read some other reviews saying SUV's were $60. I'm guessing because my jeep is only 6 cylinders he charged me the $40. I noticed a couple mentions of the small waiting room. Yes it's small but for the limited amount of time you actually wait, it's not a big deal at all. Alen has free access to his wifi, although by the time you set it up on your mobile device and start using it, your vehicle is done and your on your way. All in all, I highly recommend going here and Alen was completely professional and a pleasure to deal with. I will recommend anyone I know that is around the area and needs a smog check, to come here! read more

Zoom zoom.!!!! That all I can say about how fast Alen works. He greeted me, asked for the key, hand me the paper work to fill and I just about to get comfortable on the chair when his wife received the paperwork and said "your car is ready!" Wow! Not even a trip to a gas station was this fast! Granted my car is the newer type and I was the only one there at that time by the speed was amazing! The couple is very courteous, fast, efficient, no ifs,buts, Really deserve all these accolades! Thanks Alen! See you in two years, and next time I'll get you foreign banknotes to add to your collection! Tips to find this place because it's easy to miss because it shares building with several automotive services, first landmark, it's really across of Honda of Pasadena and if you come from the east, it's easier to take the Walnut St and when it hit the intersection with Foothill, watch for the entrance, because it's just right after the stoplight. If you take Foothill from the east then you'll need to make u turn somehow. It's easier if you come from the west, just take Walnut and the entrance is just before the stoplight. From the moment Allen spoke with me on the phone right through to me wishing Allen a great weekend and receiving my smog test results from him, it was like going to a great friend or favorite family members home. Allen even explained the minor price difference due to my vehicle being an SUV. It truly is the perfect way to represent the auto industry. My wife & I went to complete a check (on a Sunday) on our '99 Acura. We couldn't have been there more than 15 minutes. He came out to greet us & began the test right away. Alen's shop was comfortable but very tidy. "Clean" isn't a commonly used word when describing most independent vehicle service facilities -- but I wouldn't hesitate to use it here. His wife (I'm assuming) immediately offered us either coffee or tea. If you want to spend less, you could go somewhere else, but no doubt you will need a coupon. Overall I would say the price was fair & in line with others in the area. I wanted to use this business b/c it's close to my local DMV. But the appointment [!] process was both confusing and finally un-professional. How is it no other provider seems to care about appointments? Worse, my appointment which could have been arranged very simply in 1 minute required multiple transactions as the 'My Time' service slowly realized that "Pasadena Test Only & Smog Check" needed obvious, basic information. Now I have the sense that the appointment site is run by desperate high schoolers. . Anyway - I ended up stopping at another smog-cert provider ["Best" - @California&Arroyo] which provided immediate service at the common rate. :-) read more

Just took my car for a smog check under an hour ago and loved them so much that I had to write a review. Alen explained to me a problem with my car which I've been curious for a while, the symptom (loud squeaking sound from the engine) was something I could never reproduce at the dealership and they wouldn't put too much effort in troubleshooting. Alen was very friendly, price was only $40 for smog check and after finding out they do oil change services and such, I'll most definitely be bringing my car in for any future oil changes. Unlike other test centers he will tell you that you will fail the test; he wont take your money and then tell you. I had another test center do that to me. Very nice honest working people!!!
