We booked this hotel at the end of June and when I booked, I got a notice that the hotel was under construction and pool would be closed. So I cancelled and waited for a hot tub room to open. As soon as one did, I booked a King room with a hot tub for 3 night July 14-17. When we checked in, we were told sorry, that our room was not available and was given a gift card to a spa 15 minutes away for a one hour soak. Out of the way, and not what we booked. They adjusted our rate to a lower one after they realized how upset I was and great, I wasn't charged for the room we did not get. We checked into our room, which was nice, however there was no dresser for our clothes so we had to stack everything on the couch for 3 days. Not ok. We tried to call the front desk for towels, and the phone did not work so had to walk to reception to get extra. We tried to call the restaurant to see if they had tea, same, busy signal, did not work. We let Alexis, the Assistant General Manager know we were not happy with our stay. She apologized but did nothing to make things better for us. Poor customer service for sure! read more

My family had a delightful stay here. I love the feel of the place, slightly old fashioned, not slick or impersonal or pretentious. The grounds between the buildings are fabulous - paths and bridges and water features and koi and covered swing chairs and cornhole, as well as a pool. Working kitchen garden plots are mixed in with the other landscaping. The room was perfectly pleasant - clean and spacious and nicely outfitted. (I would have liked a desk chair though, for working.) We had a spa room, and sitting in the tub looking out at the garden was a treat. Having the steakhouse and coffee shop right on site was very convenient and delicious. (The breakfast sandwich of fried egg, bacon, Swiss, tomato jam, and thyme aioli on sourdough was amazing.) The hotel is right across from the town square (in which the trees were magically lighted up for the holidays) and lots of appealing downtown shopping and dining. I have to admit to being baffled by the negative reviews - everyone we interacted was lovely, the room was clean and felt very nice, and the whole place had a great feel. We will not only be back, but will be bending future travel plans to stay here again. read more

We stayed for one night. When we arrived at the front desk, with a printout of our reservation. Unfortunately, the clerk could NOT find our name or conformation number in the system. After about 15 minutes of her doing her voodoo on the computer and discussing with the manager (and initially blaming us for not processing the order correctly. Again, I had a conformation number and you couldn't have received that without getting through the last step on their website) they agreed to honor the rate and give us a cheese plate for our problem. As for the room: in back of the hotel and small. Fortunately, the bed and pillows were comfortable. I didn't like waking up at 7:30 for the noisy garbage truck. I found one black bug walking on the bed in the morning. Yes, it is picturesque but the whole ordeal left a bad "taste" in my mouth. read more

Excellent location right in the heart of downtown. The blonde hair lady at check in was very accommodating on Saturday evening. Smooth check in process and easy to navigate the property. Losing 1 star because I think the price could be slightly less for the rooms. The hot tub was amazing. Works extremely well and they get the towels stocked bright and early for people who like to start their days out like that. They have a nice restaurant on site, but we didn't get to check it out. Our family of 4 had a wonderful stay at the Paso Robles Inn. The location can't be beat - we only used our car once to go to Sensorio. The rest of the time we were able to walk to everything we needed downtown. Check in/check out process was smooth and the staff were very accommodating and brought us extra towels and coffee when we asked for it. The pool area was the perfect for relaxing during a hot day. The gardens and lawn were well kept. And the best part was of course the private mineral hot tub on the patio. We had one of the rooms with 2 queen beds and thought it was pretty spacious. The reason for 4 stars is that the bathroom seemed a little old, it could have used an update. Overall a great stay and if we ever were back in this area, would definitely book again. read more

Ok, Let me say I had some small issues with the hotel but I will be staying here on my trips to Paso Robles. I've been coming here for years and have family that live here. Although this was my first time staying in the hotel, I have visited other areas of this hotel MANY times! Lol. We stayed in one of the larger rooms with hot tub, fireplace, big balcony and spacious room and bathroom. What you get is well worth the price. Our A/C stopped working and they offered to put us in another room with no problems, they also reimbursed us upon checkout. The staff is extremely attentive and pleasant. The Brunch on Sunday is Fantastic!! Make Reservations!!! Appetizers and drinks are top notch in the bar. The grounds are well kept and clean. The pool, although too warm is nice, clean, plenty of lounge chairs, towels and seating for friends. More importantly, it's quiet! This hotel has the Best location to local eateries, bars and shopping in town. Here's a tip if you stay anywhere- If you find something wrong with anything, write it down and give it to the front desk.. If it needs immediate attention, let them know! If you have a flickering light, a lose handle, running sink, etc. tell them. If maintenance isn't aware, It's not going to get fixed. Give this place a try, you won't be sorry! read more

Most unprofessional and rude experience we have ever had. Their front desk clerk actually flipped me and my seven year old daughter off. I am still in shock. Furthermore, we made a call of complaint to Erica, the General Manager, to make her aware of the obscene behavior of their clerk and she never responded to our voicemail. We booked through Expedia and upon arrival, our first impression was that the front desk clerk, a man named Chale or something like that (he was not wearing a name tag) did not even acknowledge our arrival for several minutes. Another customer walked in, was also completely ignored. Finally, the clerk arrived at the counter -- no greeting. He asked if we had a reservation, we did. We booked through Expedia a week prior, but he did not have the reservation on his end. He initially asked us, "are you sure you're at the right hotel?". We were. He then told us we needed to call Expedia and figure it out while he checked in other guests. We showed him the reservation, and he still told us we had to call Expedia. We called Expedia and they said they needed to speak with him -- we did indeed have a reservation. They called him several times, he completely ignored their phone calls multiple times (I was watching him choose to ignore the ringing phone) and after 40 minutes, I became agitated and asked him to answer the phone. At that point, we wanted to cancel our reservation and take our business elsewhere. I'm aware that clerks have to approve a cancellation, and so I waited, asking him to answer the phone so that we could have our reservation cancelled and leave. Keep in mind we'd been waiting 45 minutes at this point. He then extended his hand and flipped me off, with my seven year old daughter standing beside me. My husband was outside on the phone with Expedia. The fact that this hotel employs the type of man that could flip a woman and her young child off is astounding. It tells a lot about the overall character of the hotel and it's staff. read more

Ear plugs??? We were excited to be staying in a hotel that has wonderful grounds and is is within walking distance of the vibrant downtown area... We walked in to room 406 and saw that there were two sets of ear plugs sitting on the night stand... Later that night we found out why they were there... the walls are not insulated and you can literally hear every word of the person next door talking on their cell phone.... and, they had their TV on all night... So paying over $500 total for two nights in a 2 star room you might not expect this kind of environment!!! We will not be back!! Other rooms might not have this problem... So if you are thinking of staying here and you are not deaf... ask for a room that does not need or come with ear plugs... read more

I'm so sad this place didn't work out for us as we love visiting Paso and thought this would be the perfect hotel to spend the night at after a day of wine tasting. Pros: -Proximity to downtown for dinner & bars Cons: -A/C was broken, randomly turned on/off at least 20x overnight and never got the room cooler than 72* -Fan is extremely loud, hard to sleep -Paper thin walls, could hear our neighbor's snoring -Overall very dated feel -The pillows on the bed are more of the decorative thickness, extremely high and not soft, hurt the neck! -Not as clean as other hotels If we had paid, let's say, $100/night I wouldn't be complaining. But for practically $300, I don't see where the value is. read more

As we were being seated, they took away the breakfast menu (which was already on the table), and informed us it was lunch only (at 10:59 am on a Saturday). Incredible service! We arrived for happy hour only to realize it was one of our group's birthday and we had forgotten. Within 30 minutes Paula procured a gorgeous floral arrangement and a blank card for us to present to our friend. With no request to pay the florist until the next day. The reception staff were all helpful and friendly. The room was relatively small, but perfect for us. The bathroom was much larger than most places we've stayed, complete with two sinks and a nice tub for soaking. We were also able to charge our Chevy Bolt with one of their level two car chargers. The pool area provided a nice place to sit, snack, and enjoy a beverage while visiting with other guests. The grounds are beautifully kept, and they even have huge Koi in their little pond. We are definitely returning. I suggest early reservations because the hotel posted the "No Vacancy" sign when we arrived. read more

The front desk staff was nice, the location was right downtown so walking distance to nice restaurants and shops! Or room was cute, the bathroom was large.. or room has a hot tub, but this was outside so slightly awkward to use as night. It does have curtains so you have privacy, although I'm not sure how neighbors feel about us using it at night. So now the downside: when you walk into the room there are earplugs. I have not seen these in a girl before, but when you stay the night you realize why they provide them. People are in the garden so you hear them outside, you also hear trucks early in the morning and people from downtown. The bed was very uncomfortable, really hard/springs and the sheets were cheap feeling. The drawers in the cabinet kept sliding open and the room smelled as if someone had smoked in it previously. We called for room service Sunday morning and we told the restaurant is busy so they will not be doing room service anymore! After looking into this more we found out during brunch they do at 9, but were not informed about this at all! For the price you pay it is not worth it, the location is the best thing about it and the ground are cute but I would choose to stay elsewhere next time. read more

Stayed here for a quick mid week getaway, and wow, this place is fantastic. Every interaction I had with staff was pleasant and they were always very helpful. The room was amazing. We stayed in the building that survived the fire in the 1940s but you would not know that it was so old. The room was great. King size bed, with spa tub on the balcony. The bathroom was very large and spacious. The courtyard area was great. Nice little streams filled with Koi fish, lots of chairs to sit and relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. I would highly recommend this place to stay. It is right there in the town square, so you can walk to anywhere in town you might need for food and to check out the town itself. Zero stars is more accurate. I booked a Deluxe handicap room a month in advance. On arrival i was told it wouldn't be ready till after 5pm. Came back after 5pm, given a non-handicap room, not what i discussed in length about during booking. Also it is a sensitive topic with my handicap partner so she was completely embarrassed by the lengths i went to, only to be told in front of everyone that he did not have what we requested. The backup offer of rooms was horrible, but we accepted. Degrading us futher we were given non accessible rooms. help from a maintenance person who would help us with our bags to the rooms WAS their solution. Which we had no choice but to use to get our items to the rooms. Afterwards my partner wanted to check on breakfast at the hotel. We asked the hostess at the Steakhouse restaurant for the details. No breakfast on Friday AM was the answer. The issue was she couldn't give us any alternative info for where to go. No printed sheet of local places since they no longer offer bfast to weekday customers of the hotel!!? She told us due to layoffs during COVID and now short staffed they were gradually starting back up. We JUST wanted info on local breakfast places!! Worse still, room 2011 had black long hairs on the towels above the tub, black hair behind the sink, on the tile floor in the shower area and short black hair near the toilet. If these large obvious hairs were overlooked in cleaning, forget COVID cleaning, i dont want to know how truly dirty this room is. Do not accept a room in the older section of the hotel. It will remind you of the movie "The Shining" Oh yes, and i did call front desk, they sent 2 new towels up and took the towel with hair. No apologies nothing. Asked to speak to the manager many times to express my opions directly but was not given that opportunity. Even after the hairs, still no call from a manager. Unbelievably horrible. Not CLEAN. This hotel was the perfect location for our five-day stay in Paso Robles because we could safely walk to the many downtown wine tasting rooms, shops, and restaurants. The receptionist when we arrived was very welcoming and helpful, and the property was beautiful with flowering trees and a variety of other flowers. The hammock swings were so relaxing under the shade trees. Our room was in a quiet location, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The bathroom had double sinks and a huge counter top along with huge, fluffy towels. So why am I only giving this inn a four-star rating? The carpet in our room was badly stained and we only had one chair which was a problem when we wanted to play cribbage at the desk. Also, the policy is to clean the rooms every third day, but by 2:00 p.m. on our third day, our room had not been taken care of. After contacting the front desk, housekeeping came and made the room up again. This seemed foolish since we were leaving the next morning. Maybe it would make more sense to base the cleaning schedule on how many nights are booked. Finally, we never saw any information about the hotel, the pool or restaurant hours, local attractions. Why not have daily or weekly sheets letting guests know what is happening? read more

Hey plate of tater tots was $11 and only had six tater tots. The steak bites used to be a great deal with plenty of meat but seems to be half the portion size it used to be. Great location, but man.... This place stinks!.. it literally smells terrible. The room condition is ok/fair. We had issues with our door lock and the front desk was quick to call in maintenance but he was pretty curt and rude, not a pleasant experience at all... And it only took about three times to fix the issue Our room was also near the ballroom which had an event going on and it was pretty loud. it also went later than the time we were told it would. All in all, don't stay here if you are put off by a rotting egg smell, rude people, or if expect to get sleep. read more

This visit was a return after many years, this time with a dog. While I expected to be in a "dog room," with no carpet, I didn't expect a cramped room with paper thin walls and barely any room to walk around. Thankfully this was a midweek visit with quiet neighbors. It sure was a contrast to my last visit, which was almost a 5 star. We gladly paid the (gulp) $50 dog fee, but for that, c'mon folks, give us some room to turn around in. There was a queen bed (very hard, although the pillows were pretty good), and a small table with 2 convention room (hard as can be) straight chairs-no comfort watching TV. So, with all due respect, we will be looking elsewhere next time we come through. Let's hope PR Inn does some remodeling. read more

Called the front desk to request service at 7pm (not informed they leave at 5:30pm). Instead they send someone at 5 while we're napping. Called the front desk to remind of the cleaning and that's when they decide to inform us housekeeping leaves around 5:40. No communication from front desk to housekeeping. When asked why our room wasn't clean to begin with they said perhaps we had the Do not disturb sign up (which was not). Very disappointing. Will not return here again. read more

This place is very beautiful and well kept and the staff is courteous. But I really did not like the fact that there is absolutely NO place to hang up wet bath towels to dry. There is a robe hook, but the towels kept falling off the little hook and onto the floor. We paid $651 for a 2 night stay and a room with only one king size bed. That was adequate for our needs, but for that price there should have been adequate towel bars in the bathroom. If the towels could have been hung up to dry, we would not have needed fresh ones every day. read more

The reason for only 2 Stars is, I was disappointed that on our last night staying there me and my family tried sleeping in. We were interrupted by LOUD construction noise of a generator/compressor at 8:30 am. I called the front desk, the phone rang for over 10 minutes before staff answered the phone. I asked for a Manager, she told me they would be in at 10:00 am and would give me a call. I NEVER heard back from anyone. The extremely loud noise continued for the entire morning. Stayed here two nights for a birthday celebration. Room was perfect. Fireplace, private spa tub on a beautuful patio. Bed super comfy. Great location. Checked in early and room not ready as 4 pm was check in time. 4 pm...room not ready. Guests were piling in at that time bombarding the lone desk clerk Cheo. He was amazing. Very calm and patient with everyone. Even those of us who were not happy our rooms were not ready on time. Obviously Management needs to hire extra help during heavy check-in times and more housekeeping. Housekeeping was the issue with the rooms not being ready. I have to say I paid a lot for that room and it was quite irritating we didn't get our room on time. Cheo Took the brunt of the complaints and was a true professional. We would definitely stay here again and hope they hire more housekeepers and more people to assist at the front desk. read more

Last week my husband and I, went with a group to Paso Robles and stayed at the Inn for two nights, on our second night after a group dinner we arrived back at our room and both of our door card did not work...We returned to the front desk to get our key cards reloaded and back to our room. Still nothing, the girl at the front desk went and tried and returned with the same issue. She called her manager with no help, she called security, who tried to help, but had no tools. Luckily for us two new people arrived and there company had overbooked, two rooms for each. We waited for them to get checked in, since they were both tired coming from the east coast. They both left for there rooms. The receptionist told us we were lucky, because they had overbook and now there was an extra room for us ! I had to ask for toothpaste and a toothbrush, nothing was offered. In all my stays at hotels I have NEVER been Greyson poorly. They should be ashamed read more

This inn has a great location and makes you feel like a local. However, for the extraordinary price of close to $300 a night it's definately worth it to stay at the other hotels in the area. They forced the signature of "water conservation" so no cleaning happened to our room. I received a text mid-way through the stay asking me about my experience but I couldn't respond. The outside of the inn is charming with streams and old building architecture. The room has a fireplace that is designed to "keep the unit warm" because there is no heat at night. This feature unfortunately did not give the room a nice or romantic feel because it was sealed and dirty. The beds (queen size which is a HUGE difference) were beyond terrible. We were there for a wedding but couldn't get a wink of sleep because the beds were so hard with sheets that were scratchy with a sheet over the comforter. No duvet was on the comforter, just a sheet that was just laid over the bed because the money we spent couldn't be stretched to get a proper duvet. We made it work, but literally woke up at 5:30am to drive home 4-5 hours because we couldn't wait to get home again to be able to sleep through the night. Earplugs were provided - we didn't have to use them. Shampoo was half used when we got there so we threw away their amenities, as they didn't replenish from the last occupants. Overall, not worth staying at for the value and feel quite ripped off honestly. read more
